V3 Chapter 50

“Damn it, to think he would be this strong…!”

As Ruka was cursing her opponent in her mind, suddenly, a large shadow appeared just behind her.

“?!”

Her eyes widened in shock. She had felt danger coming towards her from behind. She raised her head, and her eyes stilled-

A flying dragon-like creature in the sky was flapping its giant wings and is spiraling downwards. Its sharp gigantic claws extended, as it shoots towards her.

It’s a Fang Wyvern.

A monster that is known to be stronger than normal Wyverns.

But why is that kind of monster even here…?!

There's should be no one capable of taming that kind of monster. Even if it's the War of Beasts..!

Eh?

Wait, no, there's no magic connection!

It's a wild monster!

But why is that here!

With confusion on her mind, Ruka immediately braced herself, wanting to block the monster’s attack. She knows that she would not be able to dodge unscathed, especially with her slowly recovering strength. However, as long as she survives, she can sacrifice an arm or two.

She clenched her hold on her daggers, and was about to meet the wyvern head-on, when-

“You’ve gotten too careless, Secondo,”

A voice reached her eyes, and her body jerked.

Before she could react, she then discovered that an enormous blade had slashed across the top of her head.

Rumble!

There was a loud sound.

Immediately after, Ruka felt a splash of blood, that sprinkled down like raindrops. Then, it was followed by a loud howl of despair. Still, her surprise was momentary as her expression immediately calmed down. She recognized the voice.

She turned and saw a woman walking toward her, with casual indifference, despite the background of madness and chaos.

Tall, almost bypassing two meters in height. She was wearing a mask that covers her face. Though the mask looks somewhat plain, and only the character ‘VI’ could be seen printed on the surface, it held an indescribable air of elegance that makes anyone who saw it, look at it a bit longer.

Dark, ink-black hair cascading her shoulders. While bull-like horns could be seen on each side of her head. Though, unlike normal bull-horns, her horns looked somewhat glossy and lustrous.

She was a tall woman, wearing a black robe that covers almost her entire body. And on her hand, she was dragging an almost two-meter tall heavy sword, with a blade so strange, seemly made out of sharpened bones. It looks so heavy, yet she was dragging it so casually as she made her way toward her.

“Sesto,”

Ruka called out with a faint smile.

“You’re late,”

After she said that, a large shadow appeared over her, growing larger as it smashed directly to the ground before her.

With a loud boom, clouds of dust covered the area, while a beast could be seen wailing and quivering on the ground.

It was the Fang Wyvern, letting out piercing cries of pain, its large tail still sweeping maniacally and gigantic wings still flapping.

Ruka jumped back hurriedly, not wanting to get hit by the Wyvern’s random movement.

“Do you think I had it easy?”

The tall, black-clothed woman responded simply, as she jumped towards the rampaging Fang Wyvern that had lost one of its wings, and smashed her massive weapon. Contrary to her appearance and her brutal actions, her voice remained impassive, indifferent, and cold even.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

She slaughtered the Fang Wyvern, not even letting it fight back as she slashed on its limbs and wings like a butcher.

Ruka winced as she looks at Sesto, appearing like an awe-inspiring battle god as she brandished her large bone sword and hacked wildly at the beast.

She truly fights like a beast.

With no clear elegance, but clearly a show of brute strength. But still, her moves were like the sound of thunder and the streak of lightning. Fast, and strong. Only that. Every hit produced a splash of blood from the beast as it continuously howled in pain.

The beast had suffered fatal wounds. Desperately flapping its wings, it looked as if it wanted to escape back into the sky. But with one wing, it’s like a bird that had lost its freedom to fly.

“Stay down.”

Sesto held her heavy sword with one hand, before roughly pulling at the flying dragon’s giant tail with her other hand, and ruthlessly smashing it down to the ground.

Those tyrannical movements and behavior looked as if she practically wanted to pound the wyvern to its death in hate!

Boom!

The earth vibrated.

The Fang Wyvern smashed onto the ground with a heavy thud. Its only wing was broken beyond repair, its neck was twisted, and its head was smashed in.

Blood poured out in all directions.

Finally, it only struggled a little before falling dead in front of her.

Once a monster considered as the King of the Sky, has now been shot down from its throne, experiencing a brutal death. It could not even scratch its opponent.

“You still worked messily,”

Ruka let out a sigh.

She pulled a red vial from her storage ring and hurriedly drunk it.

The pain assaulting her entire body immediately subsided along with her burned wounds. But still, she felt the exhausting fatigue coming unto her.

Without hesitation, she took a small bottle with a purple liquid and immediately felt strength coming back to her. Though, only for a short while, the side effects of the [Strengthening Armament] skill subsided. However, it's alright, as with the appearance of Sesto, surely the other numbers should have also arrived. Thus, there's no need for her to fight.

“I can’t believe, I would be forced to drink this fast…”

She also took a robe and wore it, covering the exposed part of her flesh.

“That’s because you let your guard down too much. We told you that this could happen,”

Sesto said as she casually swung her heavy sword on the side, splattering the blood from the bone blade.

“I didn’t expect them to really attack just before the Walpurgis Banquet."

Ruka pouted in displeasure.

Who would have expected someone would make a move against the princess, just before the Walpurgis Banquet.

Such an act is stupidity, for the aggressor would surely earn the ire and wrath of the entire Demon Empire if known. Only an idiot would do something like that.

And yet, the War of Beasts just did that stupid action.

"It seems like they are really trying to declare war against the Demon Empire,”

Sesto shook her head.

“With the Continent’s current situation, no one dared to make the first move. They are just waiting, waiting, and watching as the fragile balance of this world slowly crumbles on its own. But when someone would make the first move, that would be the time that everything will be in chaos."

"... ...?!"

"The War of Beasts knows that the Demon Empire doesn’t want to be the one to break it, that’s why they are acting rampant, knowing shackles have bound the Empire’s limbs,”

Sesto muttered with cold indifference.

"But the Empire wouldn't fall that easily...aren't they underestimating her Majesty the Empress too much?"

“Perhaps... but to wolves that are waiting for an opportunity to strike, this is the long-awaited moment. I can't blame them for their rash actions…”

“Who are you?”

As both of them were talking, suddenly a confused voice rang out from the side.

Both Ruka and Sesto turned toward Dreka who had arrived and was now looking at them, Sesto especially in confusion.

"A Flame Ogre Clansman...well, no wonder you are in a tight spot, Secondo. You are against a bad match-up," Sesto said.

Ruka frowned. She shook her head, then said; “I know... I can’t defeat him, so I’ll leave him to you. I still need to find her highness,”

After saying that, she turned around and started walking away.

“Hey, you!”

Dreka’s expression darkened, seeing Ruka’s shameless actions.

She’s actually running away?!

However, the tall, black-clothed masked woman suddenly step in front of him.

"...ignore her, for I will be your opponent,”

Sesto muttered coldly.

“Who the hell are you?! You are not the Demon Princess’ subordinates, are you?”

“Whether I am or not, is not your concern. If you want to say something-”

Sesto swung down the heavy sword in her hand, causing a strong gust of wind that blown corpses and debris away from her.

“- Let our sword do the talking!”

“Arrogant! I will make you regret interfering with the War of Beasts!!”

The moment Sesto had finished speaking, she had already flown out.

In the same way, enraged, Dreka had also flown through the air, meeting her head-on.

Baaaaaang!!!

Thus, the prelude of the war between the War of Beasts and the mysterious Garden of Eden, which would be known throughout the entire continent as the first step of the mysterious organization into the world, started.
