Volume 2 Chapter 81

“Sibylla, Let’s sit here!”

Cian gently held Sibylla’s hand and led her to her seat in a quiet location. His gestures were so gifted and noble, making those women’s eyes almost fall out from envy. All of them were jealous of the young lady of the Vandlehouse Family.

Although she was also beautiful and seemingly a pair with the Second Prince, nonetheless which Family has not born such a fine lady like her?

Her kind of beauty is a dime a dozen in the Demon Empire.

However, the Second Prince was different. He was, after all, just the Second Prince of the second largest Empire in the Continent, second only to the humans, as well as the strongest there is: the Stormfury Demon Empire!

Not only had he had the appearance that is slightly above the cold and aloof First Prince, but also the favor of not only the Empress herself but also with the First Princess. He had an ill-reputation but his status was genuine!

And yet, what did she have to be able to accompany such a man like the Second Demon Prince?

Although many were terrified of the Second Prince’s reputation, still people are not fools and idiots. Two years of living here had already made them see the Second Demon Prince in a new light, giving them the realization that what they had heard are actually far from the truth. Even those who had not left the Northern Border even arrogantly made conclusions such as the smelly reputations and rumors they had heard were actually just false rumors made intentionally by people who are against the Second Demon Prince, in the purpose of destroying his image.

Vile people with nothing to do, wanting to taint the Second Demon Prince reputation for their own benefits while probably some due to jealousy and envy, wanting to destroy his reputation.

The moment a spark ignited, it would then be easy to turn it into a blazing flame. Obviously, as people who believe what they wanted to believe, this conclusion immediately covered the entire Northern Border in a blink of an eye. And the Second Demon Prince’ image was turned into—a pitiful victim of false rumors.

Really an incredibly imaginative mind.

The once frightening demon king had turned into a saint in every people’s eyes.

Other than the fact that the Second Demon Prince would either play in a brothel or waste money on strange things, he had not made any evil and wicked acts that are enough to condemn him into becoming a terrible person. Furthermore, with his obvious love and affection towards his fiancée Sibylla, it was more than enough to raise the hype of the Second Demon Prince. For more than a year, the Second Demon Prince had never once stopped being the topic of many gossips and stories. Although he was somewhat cold, yet the way he spoils and laughs around his fiancée made women in all ages felt envy.

Thus, at this moment, unlike before where they feared him and felt pity for Sibylla's tragic fate, many women are dying to replace her.

As they stared enviously at Sibylla, suddenly their attention turned towards her dress. It was stunning and beautiful that almost all women couldn’t help but exclaimed. The originally ordinary beautiful appearance of Sibylla Vandlehouse seemed to have been made like an angel by this dress. It made her become among the most beautiful women in the Empire. Who didn’t want such an outcome?!

“Is that the Off the Shoulder Beaded Sweetheart Neck Dress’?!”

“How beautiful!”

“My God! When I go back, I need to make a trip to the [Adam’s Company]!”

“I want one! So beautiful!”

“Lord, you need to buy for me!”

“I want to wear it in a party as well!”

Various types of voices reached Sibylla’s ears. Her heart has long been so happy that it bloomed like a flower. Even Cian felt proud deep in his heart. His date was the most beautiful in the party, whose ego and vanity be satisfied if not his…?

It seems that the time spent on designing and creating the ‘Jovani Charcoal Imitation off-the-Shoulder-Beaded-Sweetheart-Neck Dress’ for Sibylla was worth it. After today’s advertisement, [Adam’s Company]’s business will probably have another boom in the Northern Border. By that time, countless gold and silver will go into his pocket.

And when the eyes of those women moved from Sibylla’s body to the captivating necklace hanging on her neck, Sibylla immediately felt envy, jealousy, and hatred coming from them. Even the Lady of the Marquis; Marelys Avidhorn was attracted by that gorgeous necklace. She couldn’t help but ask: “Is this the new work of Lord Adam……?”

Sibylla glanced once at Cian. Adam, one of her beloved’s other persona. The man behind the [Adam’s Company] and the creator of most products and designs sold on the company. His name resounded high and low, despite this, no one had yet to see his real appearance and he rarely appeared in public while wearing a mask. Only when he nodded did Sibylla answer Marelys Avidhorn’s question: “Answering to Aunt Avidhorn, ‘Golden Necklace of Fate’ is indeed the work of Lord Adam and was made specifically according to His Highness request. His Highness bought it for me as a present.”

While talking, a faint red appeared on Sibylla’s cheeks. When looking at it, people thought she was shy and also made people feel surprised at the level of the Second Demon Prince’ care towards his fiancée; Sibylla. One must know, Lord Adam was even harder to find and see than seeing a Unicorn. Much less, request something from him. That was even harder than asking a royalty for a personal favor.

Just how the Second Demon Prince did accomplish this?

Did he have a connection with the mysterious Lord Adam?

“Incredible. Never thought His Highness would have some connection with the mysterious Lord Adam. I’m quite envious,” Marelys Avidhorn muttered with a jealous expression. Such a connection is more than that of having a friendship with high ranking nobles, especially for women. As the [Adam’s Company] is a budding supernova in the field of business and the products that make any women thriving hard to possess, where some are harder to obtain even with money.

“I hope you can help me acquire a piece, I would be extremely grateful,”

“I’ll try,” Cian smiled faintly.

“Then, I will surely thank you for that.” Marelys Avidhorn smiled sweetly, her matured face turned even more beautiful.

As they were talking, more and more people started arriving and the entire Hall became even more festive, full of laughter and music. Seeing this, Marelys Avidhorn turned towards Cian and Sibylla, casting the two people a regrettable expression.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t properly attend you as they are still guests to be greeted. I’m really sorry,” Marelys Avidhorn suddenly apologized with a bitter smile.

“It’s nothing Aunt Avidhorn, this area is fine and we’ll be okay,” Sibylla smiled sincerely and replied with a sweet voice that seemed to be the voice of an archangel full of the sweetness of a maiden and elegance of noble angel. As for Cian, he was not the least bit concerned. He was surveying the entire hall with a scrutinizing gaze.

The celebratory hall was unbelievably wide, not as wide as the Palace Hall though but still bigger than common mansions, and comparable to average small palaces, signifying the wealth and power of the Avidhorn House. They might have been a good addition to his team if he managed to pull them towards him but sadly, although the Avidhorn House supports the First Princess, their son-in-law, husband of Marelys Avidhorn, the Marquis and member of the Vortan Clan, was a fool and obviously inclined to the First Prince, with no chances of inverting.

He was the type of a fool who thinks he was always right…causing quite a rocky marriage between the couple these past few dozen years. Though they were acting caring in front of the public, close people know they are quite already at an edge, with only a thread that bound them together as a family.

Well, not like he cared about it.

“I’m really sorry. Please treat this home like yours and do what you wanted without holding back. I will get back to you after I’m done, I promise…” Marelys Avidhorn smiled wryly at Sibylla and then to Cian who was watching her with indifference, giving him an apologetic nod before walking away.

“She’s a bit excessive… it’s not like we are little children needing a nanny,” Cian snickered, staring at her retreating figure with an amused smile on his lips. “And this is a freaking party…”

“Aanuel,” Sibylla shot him an eyeful warning, then suddenly bursting in laughter. “But she’s nice… a wonderful and hospitable host, if I say so,”

“You’re the only who says that,”

“Nope, anyone would do the same. It seems like you’ve forgotten, my dear Aanuel, you’re still the respectable Second Demon Prince of the Demon Empire. So of course, your well-being must naturally be accommodated well—if not, it would be a shameful thing for a noble clan.”

“Oh no, I had not forgotten it.” Cian replied, “After all, I was only able to have you because of this status… I treasured it very well and dare not to forget it.” While saying, he stared at her with a heated gaze full of love and affection. The only thing that he wanted to be grateful for in obtaining this unwanted status, smelly reputation and trash body was her, and her alone. “Even a single second. It’s what brought you here with me…”

The lights flooded down on her like some sort of halo. She was glaring at him and her emerald colored eyebrows brought together in a little frown and the lights gleaming on her broad white forehead.

She was stunning, so beautiful. Her face was perfect to him, and her embroidered dress seemed to complement her beauty very well.

Her dress shimmered and sparkled in the light. The dress had been tailored to fit her magnificently. It showed off her budding femininity to perfection, and her magnificent curves were highlighted subtlety. Sibylla had done a couple of long curls on either side of her head, the rest was left long and straight with two pieces crossed over the bulk of her hair in the back.

She had understated makeup applied to her eyes, lips and with just a touch of blush on her cheeks. Obviously, all cosmetics are made by [Adam’s Company] according to Cian’s instruction. Well, not as good as the Modern World’s cosmetics since he only knows a little about it. But in this kind of era, it’s still quite an incredible invention that many women were dying to buy.

Truthfully, Cian was not the type to fall in love with girls having thick make-up and prefers simple appearance and beauty without the least bit of falsehood. But, Cian cannot help but agree that with cosmetics, women would become even more beautiful than they are.

Just like now, Sibylla had never looked more beautiful to Cian. In fact, he had never seen a more beautiful woman in his life. Not counting the extraordinary Empress, her mother and the enigmatic Blue Bird who seems to be Goddesses falling from heaven. Completely didn’t belong in the mortal realm. She literally took his breath away.

Cian’s gaze downward and saw the necklace she was wearing. He had given it to her, as a present. It was his first work, personally created by him.

The light dancing off the gems reminded him of the way the light danced in her eyes.

Seeing Cian’s passionate stare, Sibylla felt pleasant heat surging through every part of her body. Her bosom heaved with anxious breath. And now Cian grinned mischievously, drawing near, and lifting her hair back from her right shoulder. She looked up at him steadily, her cheeks suffused with a raw blush, and he kissed her, opening her mouth with his tongue.

Sibylla’s cheeks grew warmer because of Cian’s sudden words and actions. She pressed her hands together and glared at him, though her expression says otherwise. “Please don’t start this Aanuel, we’re in a public and there are many people here. Teasing me with sweet nothings is the least I wanted in front of these many people.” she chided. She didn’t want to get all hot and bothered over some sweet phrases of love, especially not in front of these many people.

She had a face to maintain!

“…at least, save them for later….” she barely whispered those words.

Cian couldn’t help but burst in laughter, attracting the attention of many people in the vicinity, even including Marelys Avidhorn who was talking to one of the guests.
