Volume 3 Chapter 68

V3 Chapter 68

[Undead’s Grief] is an advanced level debuff spell of the Dark Magic System.

It weakens the target by around 2-5% of every undead was summoned. And with Cian’s magic power and mastery over the spell, he can summon 12 of them, which was already beyond an ordinary elite dark mage’s capability.

And the longer they cling onto the target, the higher their absorption of the target’s power as well.

It truly is a very powerful and troublesome curse. Sadly, it has very specific requirements to use. Not only it consumes a large amount of magic power, but it can also only be used if the target was a sinner.

One that murdered and killed people.

One that is the target of vengeance and hate.

If the target was innocent, or only killed a few, the spell would be weakened, or worst would not work. Thus, this spell can be said to be a righteous-kind of dark magic.

The more wicked the target is, the more the spell’s effect also worsens.

“You fool!”

The Wolf King rushed in anger and pounced at Cian. Though, the Wolf King felt as if chains have shackled on his wrists and ankles every time it moved, it was still able to move so fast his speed couldn't be seen as a naked eye.

Once again, the claws struck an illusion, however, that didn’t stop there, as the claws turned sideways and slash horizontally.

Clang!

The claws hit the black blade, and Cian grunted in pain.

“Thou would not escape me forever,”

Was it the smell?

Baang!

Cian groaned in annoyance as he was sent flying back.

The Wolf King immediately chased after him.

Was he even weakened?

Damn it! Just how many curses have I rained upon this beast, and yet why does this monster doesn’t seem to be weakened at all?!

Clang! Cleng! Clang!

Cian desperately repelled the beast’s frenzied attacks. Even still, despite the Wind Wolf King's onslaught doesn't seem to have been weakened at all, with sharp eyes, he seemed to see the path to victory at this moment.

The speed of the Wolf King though not that noticeable, but it has certainly slowed down, and he can even follow the Beast King’s speed even without relying on [Night’s Eye].

Baang!

Cian launched his leg and kicked the Wolf King in the gut sending it backward. However, the Wolf King, while flying back opened its jaw wide, and charged a powerful beam-like ball of light in its mouth.

Though, looking at it carefully, it’s actually like a sphere of compressed wind rotating at an incredible speed.

Does this beast still have this kind of attack?!

The ball of energy got bigger and bigger until it became slightly bigger than the Wolf King’s head.

“Die Cursed Blood!”

The large beam-like attack zoomed towards him, but Cian was also not sitting idly by. Placing his palms against each other, he quickly conjured a ball of pure magic power, expanding it and making it and bigger.

“Not before you, Beast King! Have a taste of my [Demon Blast]!!”

Baaang!

Cian’s attack was fired towards the Wolf King and booooom! a large, thunderous explosion reverberated throughout the entire forest.

The two powerful attacks collided against each other causing a massive explosion.

“Gah?!”

Cian felt an incredible impact knocking him back, and he was sent flying. He tried to maneuver his wings, but the explosion was too great, the air pressure was distorted, and he could not do anything but braced himself as he crashed in the ground.

The storm-covered sky was cleared, and the tornadoes and rain also disappeared in an instant, replaced by eerie tranquility.

“Cian!”

“Master!”

Amadea and Regina, snapping out from the shock of that powerful explosion saw Cian’s figure falling from the sky and crashing on the ground.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

With fearful and anxious expressions, they rushed towards him.

Crack! Bang!

The piled-up rocks in front of them suddenly exploded, and from within Cian’s angry figure was revealed.

“Damn beast!” he cursed as he held his left arm.

He was quite in a terrible state. Bleeding wounds and bruised in every part of his body, and even his left arm and left leg was mangled in a strange angle. He was panting and coughing blood, but his lips were grinning. His eyes were sparkling even, like that of an excited child.

“Cian! Are you okay?!”

“Master!”

Amadea and Regina rushed over anxiously.

“I’m fine,”

Cian brushed the blood on his lips with the back of his hand.

“Master, Let’s just run!”

Regina desperately pleads.

But Cian shook his head.

“That’s something I cannot do,”

“But Master!”

“Give it up, Regina… when Cian decided it, not even the gods can change it. But Cian, this battle is hopeless,”

Amadea said with a grim expression.

“You should know the difference between you two now… you cannot defeat that monster!”

“It’s early to assume things, Amadea!”

Cian said with a solemn voice.

“And even if it’s that’s the case, you know I would still not run,” he said as he took out a large meat thigh from his storage ring and took a bite on it. His canines grew longer, sharper as he chewed on the meat.

Immediately, he felt a refreshing power surging through his veins. And his wounds healed rapidly.

[Feral Regeneration] immediately worked to fix him up. Though he possess [Rapid Recovery] and other self-healing skills, [Feral Regeneration] was better and stronger in the recovery effect.

“And look,”

Thud!

A muffled sound echoed in the silence as a bipedal figure drop on the ground.

Like a giant wolf standing in two legs, the Wolf King was growling while glaring at him. Its healing speed seemed to have truly drastically slowed down as the wounds on its body appeared very terrible to look at. Cian's blood and venom (Inhibit Regeneration) were working in wonders.

“Do you think there’s any escape from it?”

Cian chuckled. His tongue slip from his red-dyed lips and licked the blood on them.

“This ain’t a battle I can lose,”

“... …”

“So go, Amadea, Regina- this battle ain't over yet!”

Awoooooohhhh!!

The Wolf King howled and without hesitation, run toward Cian. Its eyes were blazing red unlike the clear green eyes from before, so perhaps it was truly maddened in rage?

Though Cian has still yet to fully recover from his wounds, he still rushed with equally manic expression.

“Cian!”

“Master!”

Amadea and Regina cried out in anxiety. However, their voices were dominated by the thunderous sound that came right after they move. The sonic boom was so strong that Amadea and Regina were almost blown back.

This is now duel between them. No interlopers are needed! Their attentions only focused with each other. Cian and the Wolf King let out roars against each other, and clashed.

Bannng! Fwooosh. Fwooosh. Baang! Fwooosh.

The Wolf King swiped his claws in the air, and claw marks like translucent wind blades flew straight at him. But using [Ground Shrink] and [Silent Step], Cian disappeared and appeared just beneath the Wolf King.

“You’ve let your guard down,”

With an open palm, he struck the Wolf King’s jaw upwards, and then rotating as he jumped, he gave the Wolf King a roundhouse kick on the face, sending the beast king aback.

“Ora Ora Ora!”

Cian didn’t waste this opportunity in vain and gave the Wolf King multiple punches at almost the speed of sound, and ended it with a supersonic punch blasting the Wolf King away.

“Too slow, Wolf King,”

Cian smirk and once again zoomed towards the Wolf King and punch him on the chest shooting him back to the ground. His fist clad with abyssal flames- the only power he had that could hurt the monster more. Every hit by him burned the monster's fur and flesh, dealing almost double the damage.

The Wolf King tried to catch him, but his figure once again turned into an illusion, and he appeared beside him. With a loud cry, he grabbed the wolf by the leg dragging him across the rough ground, and threw him high into the air.

The Wolf King struck from the jaw and still suffered from a concussion was unable to fight back as Cian continued his relentless attack.

"Aaaaahhhhhh!!"

Cian stomps the ground and his figure shot upward like a cannonball. However, the break wouldn’t last longer as expected.

Awooooooohhh!!

The Wolf King’s figure flips mid-air, and stood in the above, sliding even as if there was an invisible platform beneath his feet. Then, the Wolf King leaps in the air and started running towards him with four legs. Yes. It was running in the air.

“Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!”

“Rooooooaaarrrr!!”

Cian and the Wolf King flew at full speed towards each other exchanging blows and each time their fists clash together- the shock waves produced got stronger and stronger.

In the previous exchange, he was overwhelmed, both in speed and strength, and was always the one receiving. In fact, out of six attacks, he can only send two back.

However, this time, he was able to block two and sent three attacks out of six. He had completely disregard defense for an all-out offense, completely relying on his buffed physical body with [Hardened], [Iron Skin], and the likes.

Bang! Bang! Booom! Bang!

Repelling the claws flying at him, Cian's flame covered attacks finally penetrates through the Wolf King’s defenses, and landed a blow in the monster’s face, sending the latter flying again.

He once again dashed towards the beast, and as he does he waved his arms and launch lightning bolt and flame spears as he closed in on him.

But the Wolf King's defense remained almost impenetrable with its barrier fully intact. Not to mention, the flames are just normal flames. If he could have launched the abyssal flames to his enemies, this fight would have been much easier. But Abyssal Flames was not his only flame.

He waved his arms, and suddenly crimson flames in the shape of a long serpent appeared in the air, and flew toward the Wolf King. Though, not as strong as the Abyssal Hawk's Flames, the Red Crowned Serpent's Flames possess an attribute of poison. And it's also still better than normal flames.

Seeing this, the Wolf King felt danger and hurriedly dodge, running in the air. But the serpent flames chased after him. Enraged, the Wolf King howled in the air, and the wind stirred. Storm appeared and struck- a huge towering hurricane clashed against the serpent flames. Another explosion occured, knocking both of them.

Glaring eyes, the Wolf King growled in rage at him and was about to open its mouth, but Cian’s figure suddenly disappeared, and before it could understand what had happened, a hand suddenly clamped on its jaws.

"Don’t even think about it!” Cian grinned viciously. "I caught you now, Wolf King!"
