V2 Chapter 25
This transaction was successfully completed in front of many flabbergasted gazes. The corner of Cian's mouth contained a smile as he returned to his seat. His thoughts were different from other people. He was unconcerned about whether there were any treasures within this dried Magical Beast’s corpse. This was because his main aim was actually its gem-like bone wings and heart. The dried flesh that can augment and increased his strength as secondary. As long as this thing was present, he would not lose out even if he forked out three legendary items of such caliber as the Necklace of Vida.
As for why he had these two items, isn’t that all thanks to her adorable and doting mother…? Cian’s lips curled into a faint smile as he recalled his mother—haa, he actually missed his mother’s body…
Within the Interspatial Ring that Sitana had given him, there were many precious items and some were even legendary relics of Human Heroes, Beastman Heroes, and Demonkind powerhouses, though the number wasn’t that much but it was already enough for other people to covet the ring on his hand. Although she knows that Cian, with Oriel, wouldn’t suffer any kind of danger in the Northern Border, it was still a precaution. All of them are enough to give him a dozen of lives when a situation goes wrong.
Well, not like he was afraid of death...
What’s more, according to her, the items and money stored in it didn’t come from the Palace and instead come from her own secret stash. Thus, even if people saw it, he wouldn’t cause any kind of suspicion that can be tailed back to the Imperial Family. No one knows of their existence other than her…it seems.
Just by seeing this, one can easily understand how much Sitana dotes on him. And although she knows about his power and abilities, she was still afraid of something bad happening to him. Thinking about this, Cian couldn’t help but feel warm and touched. No one in his two worlds showed this kind of love to him, not his real parents or his sister—though, he was quite aloof and distanced towards them due to his life so probably he just didn’t know. However, all said and done, Sitana’s love for him was the greatest he had seen. And because of this, his love for her become stronger…though, accompanied by it was his longing for her getting worst as well…
Cian stared at the corpse of the Chimaera. Although he indeed had lost two legendary magical items for this corpse but, being able to exchange for this kind of fabulous item that could strengthen and protect his life, giving him security that not any magical items could do with just two items was considered to be very favorable from Cian’s point of view. Although magical items are precious as life-saving but having your own power increased and strengthened is still far better than it. It’s just like the saying; items are nothing but auxiliary things. What is more important is the characters stats!
This Magical Beast might really only be a pile of dried rotten meat just as the auctioneer had mentioned. If Cian did not possess Night’s Eye and learned about the Chimaera, Cian would definitely not use such a price to exchange for it. Hence, this transaction might appear to possess a great amount of risk from another person’s point of view. Risk where one would suffer a complete loss if one was careless. However, from the way Cian saw it, it was a transaction that he would never lose.
On the auction stage, the smile on Arak’nabal’s face was not hidden after having successfully getting Cian to take out two legendary magical items. He clapped his hands and a group of large men appeared once again. They spent a great amount of effort to carefully pick up that Magical Beast corpse to carry it away.
Arak’nabal was still full of smiles as he stood on the auction stage. He acted like he was unable to feel a kind of strange atmosphere in the VIP seats as he smiled and said, “Now that the 8th ranked Magical Beast has an owner, this auction that my Demon Gate has organized can smoothly come to a close. In the next few days, the Demon Gate Auction House will hold a large banquet. Those who are interested can stay behind and join the fun. Well, then may the Demon God be with you all,”
Cian slowly stood up after Arak’nabal’s voice sounded. After which, he slowly walked out of the exit with an expressionless face in front of the rest of the people. Behind him, were Ruka and the four newly bought slaves. Not long later, people began to stand up from their seats one after another. All of them headed out of the auction hall.
When Cian reached the exit, he saw some staff led by Arak’nabal waiting for him. “Young Master Blood,” Arak’nabal greeted after seeing Cian walking towards him. “Monsieur Arak’nabal,” Cian let out a faint smile as he made curtly bow by placing his right hand on his left chest and made a slight bow.
Arak’nabal naturally revealed his greatest warmth towards Cian’s group. He invited the three of them into a room and served them in the grandest manner. That warmth caused Cian to feel somewhat uncomfortable. For a while, they sat together while chatting and discussing some meaningless matters. Though, it seems like the Demon Gate possesses not so little interest in the Cahlo Clan, as Arak’nabal asked many things about it, in which Cian only answered vague words.
Cahlo Clan has a thousand years of history, and so it was not that difficult to mixed lies with facts and weaved a story that could at least not be doubted by anyone. In any case, creating story backgrounds that is more believable than real is one of his specialties. If not, he would surely be a letdown for an assassin.
“Young Master’s performance today, this old man is greatly at awe,”
“You give me too much credit. Can I get the item now…?” Cian smiled faintly. His eyes and expression and full of indifference as if nothing in this world could affect him.
After both parties had a brief chat, Arak’nabal seemed to have sensed Cian’s impatience and immediately ceased saying any nonsense. “Ha ha, then, I wouldn’t waste Young Master’s time anymore. Of course, you can,” Arak’nabal waved his hand and staff behind him gave him a credit card-like metallic card.
This was a specially made Interspatial Card used by Auctions for easy transfer system of items. Although it was much harder to create and rarer than Interspatial Rings, and thus, it was only in the hands of a few people and most were in the hands of the Auction Houses. It had become a must-have item for Auction Houses, not only in the Demon World but also in the Beast World and Human World.
Arak’nabal took it and offered it to Cian. Cian did not show any pretense as he nodded. After which, he accepted it and placed it on his Interspatial Ring. Immediately after, he saw within his mind the figure of the Chimaera being transferred into the Ring. Finally… Cian’s lips let out a satisfied smile. After making sure the transfer was complete, Cian then moved the Ring of Tyrant and Necklace of Vida into the Card. It was a very simple transaction…!
Arak’nabal immediately took the card and placed it on his mind. Then, after checking the two items, his lips curled into a grin. They are indeed genuine…! He can immediately affirm that. However, they still need further authentication process and so, Arak’nabal takes the two items out and placed each item into two small wooden boxes and closed the lid. Arak’nabal then chanted some vague and strange words which Cian could hardly understand even with his demon language knowledge--Cian then immediately concluded it was probably an Ancient Demon Language. Which after, a golden light occurred from each of the boxes.
Wooosh. Aracknabal then took out two papers with roughly 4x6 inches sizes and placed it on top of each boxes. The papers were not snow white like modern ones but crass, yellow-colored and crumpled like a papyrus. When he placed the papers on each top of the small boxes, they glowed brightly and strange symbols started appearing in a neat and lined order, much like a typewriter. This strange symbols that look like wriggling earthworms were this world’s writings.
At first, Cian couldn’t read them but after looking for several hours, he started to be able to translate these words as if he had known it beforehand. Well, he had indeed known of it actually… aside from Night’s Eye that has the ability to translate many words into those who he can understand, Aanuel’s memories and language ability also resurfaced apparently the more he stared at those words as if he was digging inside something inside his brain. And so, at this moment, he doesn’t need Night’s Eye ability to read as he was already fluent on it.
“They are genuine indeed!” Arak’nabal gently caressed the boxes as if they were fragile as glass that could break any moment he would put even the slightest force. He raised his gaze and stared at Cian like he was his grandchild and let out a faint laugh. These two wooden boxes are called Appraisal Boxes. They can appraise items placed within to some certain extent. These two Boxes are the highest level they had so they could able to able to appraise even a legendary item.
The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.
There were some people who possess the ability [ Appraisal ] but their numbers could only be considered few. And so, these kinds of boxes became even precious and must-have items for Auction Houses.
“Then, the transaction is settled,” Cian spoke as he slowly stood up. He doesn’t have any intention to stay in this place any longer.
“Yes, yes, we thank young master Blood for this day. If you need anything in the future please do come visit us any time. If there is something we can help with we will surely lend you all of our strength,” Arak’nabal responded with a faint smile.
Cian smiled faintly after hearing this. He said, “In that case, I will bid you goodbye.” He turned around and left after speaking. Arak’nabal hurriedly stepped forward when he saw this. He asks Cian for a meal but Cian immediately refused, saying he needed to hurry to the Capital to deal with something. As for what it is, even without Cian's hinting and giving clues, Arak’nabal already has some idea. He asks if he can do something but Cian just smiled. “This is our Clan’s problems. We needed to deal with it ourselves,” After saying that, Cian followed by Ruka and the other slaves stepped out of the room.
“…you’re leaving already?” A faint voice suddenly sounded from behind Cian just as he was about to exit. Cian paused his footsteps. His black-robed body turned back and his indifferent gaze hidden by the black robe glanced at the source of the voice. When he saw the owner of the voice, his eyes covered by the shadows of his hood twinkled. “If it’s not Elder Lovelier… how may I help you?”
Elder Lovelier’s eyes narrowed but it was immediately then disappeared, replaced by a bright smile. Amidst her aged face, there was actually a youthful radiance coming from her, especially on her eyes. “I’m hurt, Young Master Blood doesn’t seem to remember his promise from a while ago…”
“…haha, ah, indeed, my mistake. I was preoccupied with something just now and was hurrying to the Capital to see a long-lost old friend. Other matters at hand had been blown away by this very important matter. I apologized to Elder Lovelier… it was indeed my wrong,” Cian acted a bit surprised and then his voice turned somewhat apologetic.
“Oh, if that is the case, then I sure cannot blame young master then,” Lovelier replied. “However, can young master accompanied me for a meal? I would be happy if you do so,”
Cian’s lips curled upwards. “Gladly… then Elder Lovelier, sorry for exploiting you!" his grin was radiant. Because he knew very clearly what would happen after today.
Compared to Cian’s radiant smile, Lovelier now felt aggrieved, very aggrieved. Her gaze revealed an icy cold intent as she stared at Cian. Although nothing can be seen on her expression, in fact, she was quite shaken and surprised when Cian readily agreed to her proposal. She had expected him to refuse and avoid her. But now… he should know what she was feeling right now as well as her thoughts.
Although she didn’t know how he managed to see through her, it was not something other than should be left known. But why does he seem not worried or anxious? Is he that confident about his power? Is someone protecting from the shadows…? But why can I feel nothing…? For the very first time, Lovelier felt her heart surged with frustration and anxiety she had never felt before!
She suddenly realized that there is a person in this world she could never see through and understand. Just what is he thinking?! Just who was he?
Shaking those thoughts off her head, Lovelier grit her teeth and calm her surging emotions. She turned towards Arak’nabal and said, “Elder Arak’nabal, although I wanted to invite you too as well but I apologize, Young Master Blood and I had something to discuss very importantly. I hope you can understand it… Next time, I want to invite you to a meal, please don’t refuse this old lady,”
“Hahaha, of course, of course, if Elder Lovelier said as such, I wouldn’t be polite then. Next time, let’s have a meal… now then, please excuse us,” Saying so, Arak’nabal turned around and left with his subordinates.
“Now then, Young Master Blood, please…” Lovelier’s amiable expression turned slightly cold as she gestured for Cian to follow her.
Cian saw her back and grinned. Ruka from behind flashed a worried color and grabbed her master’s hand gently. “Master…” the Patriarch of the Black Garden, she had heard about her and her evil actions. For her to approach her master, Ruka was quite worried about it. Cian flashed a gentle smile as he leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead. “I’m fine…there’s nothing to be worried about. You can just stick to the plan, I will be leaving these slaves to you. Escort them to the place where we had agreed to,”
“But Master…”
“Ruka, you don’t want me to repeat myself, right?” Cian frowned slightly while admonishing her a bit. Seeing this, Ruka finally nodded her head reluctantly. “Good girl,” Cian smiled gently. “I will reward you later…” Whispering close to her ears, Ruka’s face turned beet red.
Cian laughed faintly and then turned around, following Lovelier out of the Auction Arena. “Be careful, Master…” Ruka bit her lips and sigh as she stared at her Master’s back.

Cian followed Lovelier to a place called "Lilith’s Garden Everlasting Feast Hall". It was the most famous restaurant in the Okmahun Demon City. Aside from the fact that the dishes here was good but super expensive, only nobles and famous people could enter this establishment. They even say that eating and staying in this restaurant is a sign of status.
Once they entered the hall, a girl servant wearing a red dress appeared and led Lovelier and Cian up the building. Walking along with Lovelier side by side, they seemed to have some strange tacit understanding and did not speak with each other. The 4th floor of the “Lilith’s Garden Everlasting Feast Hall” had a very famous viewing ‘Palke’ café-like area in all of Okmahun City as by sitting near the windows, one could see a panoramic view of most of the city area and the beautiful snow-white mountain which was always been showered by snowflakes.
Every decoration and ornament on the hall and corridor had a unique design and displayed all sorts of fantastical oddities, making one feel as though they’d been transported to a magical world. Indeed, this was a place for the rich. Just the entire Lilith’s Garden Everlasting Feast Hall alone was valued in the excess of several hundred million golds. This gave an idea of how powerful the [Lilith’s Sin], the Owner of Lilith’s Garden Everlasting Feast Hall was.
Though, they were not stationed in the Northern Border and was instead at the South for some unknown reason. Even still, Apart from the Demon Gate Auction House, Lilith’s Sin is one of the top 3 mysterious organizations with a power only second to the royalty in the entire Demon World. If not for the current Demon Empress Power, these 3 mysterious organizations would surely have been the one ruling the entire Demon World.
Demon Gate Auction House, Lilith’s Sin, and lastly the always low-key but extremely powerful War of Beasts Organization.
Demon Gate Auction with its Financial Power, Lilith’s Sin with its mysteriousness and lastly, War of Beasts with its military power!
The three Great Forces behind the Demon World that not even high ranking people dare to offend.
Very quickly, they reached the fourth floor and he was brought into an exquisite ancient-styled room which was used for private VIPs. Heavy looking velvet draperies crossed the open doorway blocking the view and nearly all of the sound from the surrounding. As they took their seats in a cozy booth, Cian glanced around and took notice that this room was much quieter.
Taking in the furnishings with another quick glance, he saw rich looking carpet covering the floor as well as velvet draperies on the walls. These were the primary reasons for the subdued sound. Our little semi-round privacy booth was also decorated with similar looking drapes and other materials that trapped noise that also looked to be high class. Sound did not carry in here very well at all so patrons could have comfortable conversations without being overheard.
Since they were directly led to here, it seems like Lovelier was a frequent regular in this place. Then, the girl servant excused herself. And another girl servant served a pot of fragrant tea and refreshments. “What do both masters want to have?” with a professional smile hung on her face, she asked.
“White water!” “White water!” Cian and Lovelier spoke almost in unison.
With an astonished expression, the pretty girl looked at them. She did not understand as to why they came to this high-end place only to have white water. However, the guests were Deity, so she must meet all the requests from the Deity. Then, she said without any changes in her smiling face, “Then, please wait for a moment.” The pretty girl servant slowly withdrew.
Everything seemed to be clear and in good order. Under such circumstances, Cian also had the rare opportunity to assume an elegant manner. When the girl servant withdrew, he lifted up the teacup in front of him, sipped it lightly, rolled it over his tongue, then after savoring it for a while, swallowed it.
The fragrance filled his mouth, and texture was smooth and slippery—though, there seems to be a touch of Camellia Sinensis but Cian was certain that it wasn’t the tea plant. It didn’t taste like this, only a bit similar and this seemed to be a bit sweeter than the one he knows of. It’s not about the sugar, I guess, after all, sugar in this country is treated quite valuable just like Salt. Though that should obvious since this was another world and such a plant should probably not exist in this world—well, he doesn’t know that though. Probably, there is but this is surely not the Tea Plant he knows of. That he was certain of.
"Should I call you, Young Master Blood?" Lovelier sat at her chair, which was just the opposite of Cian, facing him and blew the steam off of the tea before sipping.
Cian picked up his cup and leaned forward. “Being called Young Master is too distant, just call me Blood.” he smiled faintly.
Lovelier smiled coldly. “Ho? Young Master seems to be quite a player, acting extremely familiar even to an old lady like me… I felt honored for being fancied by the young master who could make a girl scream in happiness with just smile.”
“You over compliment,” Cian smiled elegantly, with his clear eyes without the slightest ripple.
