Chapter 39

Chapter 39

“…Say, your highness, what is that ability? And what are you planning, causing such obvious commotion like this?” The Vampire Lord gazed down at the mysterious and extremely different Second Prince she had remembered. The calculated and cold-blooded approach to the murder he had just made filled her with dismay and utter confusion.

Was this the Second Prince personality...?

No, that should not be possible…!!

The Second Prince she had remembered and known through her life was not this kind of person—although she didn’t want to admit it but the Second Prince engraved on her memories was nothing but a trash and good-for-nothing complete scumbag who only knows how to rely on his status to bully people weaker than him!

A beyond saving scum, that if not for the Demon Empress, she would have joined the faction of the first prince or even the eldest princess to rally them on the throne. She feared that due to the hard-to-understand obsession of the Empress, she might give the throne to the Second Prince… and yet, who was this youth in front of her now…?

The scum and super weak trash prince who didn’t have talent in both magic and martial arts, only knowing a bit of sword arts but still can’t contend against ordinary youngster of most noble families within the Demon Empire—is now…

The one-sided massacre that had just transpired a while ago caused the Vampire Lord’s impression towards the Second Prince to be turned upside down and even her heart could be said to have stirred up a stormy sea.

His true strength is far more than a hundred times greater than what was spoken in the rumors!

Perhaps even compared the current first prince or first princess, he isn’t the slightest bit weaker!

But how is that possible…?

What had transpired on the time she hadn’t seen him…?!

…and most of all, what was that power he had displayed just now…?

“You need not look at me as if I were an impostor or a fake dawning the mask of the useless prince. If you tried to take this ugly face of mine, you wouldn’t be able to see anything aside from the flesh and blood within me. Even if I don’t want it, this face is mine…not like I’m complaining…” Cian responded with a playful smile.

“… …”

“… If I said I want to cause a revolution, would you believe?” Watching the Vampire Lord’s deepening frown, Cian yielded and give a shrug. He then lightly responds, completely ignoring the inquiry of his own ability.

“Revolution… is it?” The Vampire Lord frowned. A sharp glint passed across her eyes. “What kind of Revolution, your highness…? Are you planning on doing something against her majesty?” A sudden wave of enormously oppressive might emanated from her…

“... …” Cian felt the oppressive force and as expected enough, he wasn’t able to negate it. It has no substance as expected but a pressure that affects will and mental strength. Though he was able to counter it with his own strong will and mental fortitude but he was still affected, like a mountain was bearing on top of him.

*Kakakaka* noises resounded like bones creaking and flesh screaming, Cian gritted his teeth. But even still, he didn’t issue even a single groan or cry, only his mismatched eyes dilated. Behind him, Ruka was already kneeling on the ground, gasping for breath, her face pallid and a streak of blood coming from the corner of her lips.

As expected of the Vampire Lord…!

The mightiness of her strength was above anyone Cian had met so far, although not as fierce and strong as the Demon Empress, but she was obviously above her mother’s servant who he had a fight within his room. Really terrifying—except for his mother, she was the strongest opponent Cian had ever encountered to date in the Demon Empire! A peerless strong being that the Demon Empress gave her complete trust among other people…!

Vampire Lord, Altrusia Blood Krul.

“…I like that look on your face, Vampire Lord… as expected of Mother’s trusted General.” Cian chuckled in amusement, his expression pallid yet he didn’t show any weakness or expression of pain, startling the Vampire Lord.

Contrary to the Vampire Lords expectation, Cian didn’t show any cowardice or retreat as he stood there, like an immovable mountain, glaring at her with a faint smile.

Is this really the Second Prince…?

The Vampire Lord and Cian stared at each other.

But Cian was much more unconcerned than the Vampire Lord. He turned around and started walking away, “… But fear not… I won’t ever do anything that would hurt my mother. What I say, Revolution is nothing but cleaning up trashes that dared to bare their fangs and claws to the one that I loved…” he muttered coldly.

Although he looked calm but if one looks closely, Cian’s body was a bit trembling, it was not consciously but a reflex. It’s as if his skin was screaming and crying, shivering in cold. And the Vampire Lord didn’t overlook it…and yet, Cian’s words had struck her.

The Vampire Lord’s entire body stiffened. Her aura and pressure vanished, fading in this air. Cian’s smile deepened when he noticed that. The looks in his eyes were the same as an adult reading the wishes children had written for the Tanabata.

“… That is my own revolution…”

The tip of the Vampire Lord’s brow moved. Her face revealed shock and complicated expression as well…

The Vampire Lord was both surprised and furious. Her brows sunk. Thinking about Cian’s sudden rash actions, she couldn’t help but raged, and spoke as she held back her emotions: “Don’t give me that, Prince Aanuel!! Her Majesty knows all about the rats and pests hiding in the dark and yet she has yet to do anything about it! Do you know why?! That is because even her, there is something she still can’t do in her present status and circumstances—for her to accomplish something even greater, she had endured it, all this time! Now, what you are doing is nothing but wasting all her time and efforts in vain!”

“… …”

“Answer me, Prince Aanuel! Are you just going to throw away all the efforts that Her Majesty had done just for your own selfish revenge?!”

“… …”

“This is not the time to act yet! We are in the middle of the war! If something happened to those idiots, some things would change! Something irreparable would occur!”

The Vampire Lord clenched her fist, but Cian paid it no heed. The Vampire Lord was such a high-level being, that no one would dare to not answer a question from her. Yet Cian continued to turn a deaf ear; his eyes were as if the bloodshot ones of cruel wolves, and glared at her as he spoke in a raspy voice, “That war is not of my concern! That very own war had chained down my mother—does it have any importance at all?” he snorted coldly.

“The importance of those idiots is just your misconception! We can’t do anything about them because they held power and influence—don’t make me laugh! They would just do anything they wanted because they know you are thinking like that! You will just be taking advantage of and you don’t have any options but to count the money they had earned from selling you.”

Cian halted his step and glanced at the Vampire Lord who stood rooted, complexity showed in her expression.

“…When the tree falls, all the monkey will scatter! All I need to do is to make sure that no one had a proof that I did it—what can they say? That I was the one who had done it? Seriously, why don’t you ask the people around you if the useless and powerless prince could do something like killing in the first place?”

He chuckled; “Right? Although I wanted to reverse my image but times like this, I found such a stinky reputation quite convenient…don’t you think so?”

“… …”

“Then, what happens in the end? Those idiots will use tricks and schemes, but that time they will understand clearly, all of these efforts are futile.”

“Any forms of trickery in front of absolute power are nothing but childish pranks.” Cian grinned wickedly, “When that time comes, they would gather voluntarily for us to purge in one fell swoop…”

“… Even so, you will cause unrest…! You will involve countless innocent people in this game of yours!” The Vampire Lord sneered in anger. “And besides, how are you so confident that everything will play the way you want them to be… aren’t you underestimating them too much?!”

Cian’s face started to twitch. Following which, he laughed; his laugh was tinged with a little sadness, and a little cold mockery. His voice was low, but the anger in it had not lessened in the slightest: “…that is why I call it Revolution. It doesn’t necessarily succeed…”

The Vampire Lord’s expression changed. Facing Cian’s gaze which was cold as ice yet full of incomprehensible madness, the words that were about to exit her mouth, yet couldn’t leave her lips for a long while.

Cian spoke in a somber tone: “Even still, those in possession of absolute power can not only prophesy and make their prophecies come true, but they can also lie and make their lies come true. When that time comes… no matter what the outcome becomes, I will make use of it for my own benefit… right, Vampire Lord?”

“… …”

Cian turned around and face the Vampire Lord. His expression genial and warm, unlike the blood splashing on his clothes.

“You’re my mother’s trusted friend, surely you are someone worth to trust… do you want to be my friend…?” Cian extended his hand towards the Vampire Lord’s direction but the latter only frowned. This meaning, even if he hadn’t said it, the Vampire Lord knows what this action implies.

Thus, the Vampire Lord sigh and sneered, “Give it up, you’re highness. I swear my loyalty to her majesty because I find her worth it. As for you, it is something I still need to see… even still, if you toyed with the innocent people’s lives too much, I will not hesitate and point my fangs at you as well…!”

The Vampire Lord’s sharp words caused Ruka’s expression to change. Her eyes narrowed dangerously and her little canines appeared from her lips as her hand grasped the dagger hiding in her bosom. It was clear that the Vampire Lord’s offensive words struck a chord in Ruka’s heart causing her impression of the Vampire Lord to fell deep bottom in an instant.

She was angry that she would not hesitate to attack if Cian told her to do it. Although, defeating the Vampire Lord is something only in her dreams would happen but still, as long as she can wound the Vampire Lord, it was enough to even if she died.

Still, Cian was unperturbed and only showed a smile of something regrettable. “Was that so,” he said as he pulled his hand, “…a pity,”

“… ..”

“…well, since you are mother’s friend then, I will trust you still, Vampire Lord, Lady Altrushia… I hope that a time where we will be standing in opposite sides would never come—still, if that ever happens, know full well, I won’t hold anything back—” said Cian while boldly turning his back. “Farewell, Vampire Lord…”

A tremendous noise was produced as he kicked off the ground.

In the time it took the Vampire Lord to blink, Cian and Ruka had disappeared. He did not even know which direction the strange prince had gone. It was even possible he had jumped up into the sky. All the Vampire Lord knew was that the prince had moved at an extraordinary speed that even the ground he had stepped broke into tiny pieces, leaving only a large crater.

“... ...” The Vampire Lord sigh as she continued to look at the place where Cian had disappeared into.

The battle here may have ended, but the problem was far from over.

In fact, she felt as if it had only invited into an even greater conflict.

The Vampire Lord bit her lips, revealing those sharp canines. The Demon Prince—he had heard of his sudden transformation but she had never expected for him to be like this…!

Just, what had happened for him to be like this?!

Just what had caused such miraculous transformation…?

Prince Aanuel had a completely different feel to him than usual. No, it should be, if she didn’t know at all, she would conclude that who she had met just now was not the Prince at all but someone completely different.

Power, Intelligence, Charisma, Actions, and Decisions—all of them were completely different—If she wasn't so familiar with his face, she would have assumed this was another person in front of her.

…Is he really… the prince…?!

However, what made her feel appalled was that, Prince Aanuel’s power. She just can’t understand it at all!

What is it? She had never heard of such skills that prince Aanuel possessed. In fact, for some unknown reason, the Vampire Lord felt as if she fights against him, there’s a high chance of her being defeated!

But how is that possible…?

She had known about the Prince prowess in terms of the sword but that was all it was. He had a good affinity in Dark Magic but never did he have power rivaling her or even his siblings, after he was lazy and extremely dependable on his status!

Then what kind of magic was that he was using…?

The world will change… now that my son is starting to move… she had heard the Empress saying as such but what does her majesty know?

What is Prince Aanuel… planning…?
