V2 Chapter 37
"Guaaah!!!" Cian’s nearly god-like speed managed to punch and kick the Gang leader’s body a dozen times and each blow was broken several of his bones and ribs. Without having a chance of retaliation, the Gang leader could only accept the impact from the kick and smashed into the wall.
No one moved.
From the people watching from the vicinity to the Gang’s minions staring within the Bloodhole building, everyone froze.
They couldn't believe want they are seeing.
The Gang leader was beaten black and blue—he was defeated!
Cian slowly landed on the ground and started walking towards where the Gang leader was.
"Gaha-! You're... gaha-! Really a monster... aren't you?!" Coughing up blood, the old demon muttered. His face hid behind a gray, messy sea of hair. Even then one could make out the deep cuts of wrinkles that lined his temples. He was no longer what he looked like just now when he was fighting Cian. His 60-year-old body was on the verge of giving up on him.
Cian was unperturbed. He smiled under the mask, "I'm not... is what I want to say... but who knows what I'm truly are…being known as a monster doesn’t seem so bad after all,"
"Haha it seems my end is really here... huh~" The old demon said but his eyes showed no despair, only bitterness. His life’s work, Bloodhole Gang—because of an idiot, had crumbled tonight. Although, probably it was inevitable, as just like what people say, ‘Regret comes last’ their arrogance would surely let them entangle with a monster like Cian in the future.
Cocking his head, Cian let out a smile and said, "What? Don't tell me you're giving up already? Don't you still have some strength?"
“What for…? Struggling pointlessly will only make things even more difficult for me…!”
“Commendable…” Cian nodded his head in praise. Only a few people know when to stop, not like most who still try to act tough and fight till the bitter end.
What is there in death? Nothing… just a pile of rotten bones and ash. As long as there is life, one can still struggle and stand up. The habit of rather dying than admitting defeat was a quality that nobody could respect.
Winning is winning, even if the victory is limited. Losing is losing, even if the defeat is by a landslide.
As Cian was about to speak in response, suddenly—
"I, I will kill him! I will save you father, I will!" Gobing appeared from the corner of Cian’s eyes, shouting while looking at Cian with a dagger-like glare. Although his spirit is quite praiseworthy, he still can't hide his trembling hands while holding a machete.
"Stop that, Gobing! Run now and escaped with the others!" The Old demon desperately shouted while trying his hard to stand up. "I will stall for time so run now! You can't defeat that monster. So go! Leave and take revenge for me!" He managed to stand up but his legs are already shaking and he fell on his butt once again, he seemed to be on the final tinder of his life. However, Gobing shakes his head with teary eyes, "No! I don't want to leave you father! Even if I can't defeat him, I don't care!"
"Gobing!!"
“I will kill you, you monster!!!!” With a furious growl, Gobing tightened his grip onto the machete with his right hand and cast a spell with his left hand. Instantly, a giant blade crashed down from the sky, aiming for Cian’s head!
"You dare to start a fight when you are merely nothing but a grunt? Why haven’t you learned some manners~" Cian stepped forward one step. His black coat tasseled in the wind. A horrifying amount of vigor spread across space destructively!
The machete sliced through the air downwards, carrying with it the strength of an army. However, Cian did not fear. With a cold snort from him, the wind blasted across, the cloud dispersed, Heaven and Earth turned miserable!
The machete collapsed and scattered instantly!
In the next second, Cian’s silhouette flickered and reappeared behind Gobing like a ghost. He kneed on the Demon's abdomen, and when Gobing was about to fall on the ground, with his skinny, long, and white hand, he seized the youth’s throat.
"... ..." The entire place was silenced. But it was immediately broken by a mournful cry; “Nooooo!!! Gobing!!! STOP!!!” The old demon struggled his broken limbs to stand up.
"Cough…Cough… Let…let me go."
Gobing’s face was swollen red. He grabbed onto the arm that tightly threatened his life. But no matter how hard he struggled and tried to escape, the hand that was locked onto his throat would not loosen even a single bit.
Grabbing him by the throat, Cian lifted him up into the air and said, coldly, "You’re more stupid than I thought you would be. Upon realizing your incompetence, you still struggle on this merely desparable façade.” Cian’s expression was calm. He wasn’t intentionally mocking Gobing nor was he exaggerating. He was merely speaking the truth. However, even though he didn't show outwardly, he was actually quite surprised by the demon youth's affectionate and loyalty to his father. It's unbefitting of a Demon...however, it's also the reason why Cian started to like the youth.
When he would kneel in front of him, Cian was assured that Gobing wouldn't turn into someone like that trash, Stupid Imp. Though, Cian doesn't have a choice but to reduce his points. After all, although affection and loyalty are good but at this kind of moments, it's nothing but stupidity.
When you realized that your opponent is something you can't defeat, then, it's better to run away. Saving people before an undefeatable enemy is just a foolish decision, or rather a noble way of saying, 'I want to die'. If you can, run away, escape and bid your time for revenge--that is the correct decision. Though, whether Gobing could escape from Cian, is another matter entirely. Your loved one was trying his hardest for you to survive and escape, even sacrificing their own lives but you actually didn't cherish it...foolish! You're just trampling his feelings and sacrifice--
Such thing, Cian can only treat as an act of a moronic fool!
It's not about displaying your affection, or love, or loyalty--'I don't want to leave you!' 'Let's survive together!' 'I don't want to leave you, I'm your friend/lover/family!' saying and displaying those touching moments in front of an undefeatable enemy, is utterly moronic. Those can only be said if you are in a movie or in a fiction novel...but in reality, that's stupidity.
And so, what Gobing just now, for Cian was completely moronic and foolish.
“You…monster!! Do…do you think…I would succumb! Kill me!! You dare!! Kill me!!” Gobing cried out in anger. Unbeknownst to Cian's thoughts of him, Gobing was acting like a third-rate villain.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“You think I wouldn’t?” Cian was still calm.
“…?!” Gobing was turning red from a lack of oxygen. He stared at Cian, eyes filled with hatred but there was also fear and despair.
“Stop!! Pease spare my child! You can have everything! Just spare my child!” The Gang leader crawled on the floor and cried out in anxiety.
“Father!! Don’t! Don’t beg this monster!!” Gobing struggled. His tears falling like pearls from a broken pearl necklace. He never wanted to see his father act like this! In his eyes, his father is the most powerful and strongest demon. For him to beg his enemy like this, Gobing felt blades stabbing and ripping his heart.
“Please! Please don’t kill my child! I…”
“—then, become my subordinate.” Cian can't finally endure this nonsensical drama that can probably outclass Beverly Hills cut the old man off his words.
“Huh?!” The Gang leader was stupefied from Cian’s sudden offer.
“I won’t dictate much whatever you do, you can continue on what you usually do, it won’t matter for me. However, you need to surrender your lives to me and become my subordinates—if you do that, I will make you live and this Gang of yours will continue to exist as if nothing had happened tonight. You will continue to be the leader and managed the Gang—ahh, of course, the father of that disgusting Imp should die. I don’t need him, nor do I have any reason to keep him alive…how about that?” Cian’s tone was light and seemed to be confirming not asking. However, his stance was menacing, and his grandeur was threatening. As if a God had descended into the world of mortals, he looked down on his opponents the way Gods overlooked living beings on Earth.
“However, if you ever fail to understand my sincerity…then,” Cian’s eyes turned cold and the world around here started issuing cracking sounds and even the floor beneath him cracked. “I will make sure all of you will never see the day again…”
“…?!!”An indescribable silence filled the place.
Like a puppet, the father-son pair and all the people present stared at Cian with a frozen expression. What a blatant threat!
They couldn't believe what they are hearing.
However, if it was before this, they would surely curse him for being a fool—who was he threatening? This is the Bloodhole Gang!
But the person before him was not a mere demon—he is a Monster…!
Cian glanced at the Gang leader and the other people standing around them, even Gobing was startled and struck speechless. Unexpectedly, he didn’t say anything and even the hand that was struggling to break free from Cian’s hands somewhat loosened. At this moment, after realizing that there was a way out for him and his father to leave alive, his fear and anxiety somewhat subsided and calm slowly surge through him.
The night was as cold as water and the moon was bright. The stars tonight, however, were scarce. But the light of the moon was enough to light the masked face of the youth strangling him. Because he was far too close on Cian, he can clearly see the eyes within the eye sockets of the Mask. And his mind blanked out—one red like a beautiful ruby while the other was blue like a vast sky. Mysterious—but also captivating!
Gobing had never seen eyes so beautiful—
“It’s already a fact that Bloodhole Gang’s fate is already under my control," Cian muttered indifferently cold. "...If you submit to me now, it’s still not too late, I can spare your lives.”
“… …”
“So, how about it? This opportunity only comes once.” Cian’s voice floated in the entire building.
Hesitation flashed across the Gang leader and the other Elders’ face, while the [Fiendish Flame Imp]; Arasol’s face revealed an ugly expression. He was about to say something demeaning, like cursing him and all but--
“I’m willing to submit, I’m willing to submit.” A brief moment passed when suddenly one of the remaining Elder spoke up. When there was a precedent, there would be subsequence people who followed. Then, it spread out like a wildfire it, lighting the fire of the other people. Then, Cian turned towards the Gang Leader’s whose face was now as pale as a sheet of paper. He sighs as his expression seemed exhausted and tired. It was as if he has aged 30 years in a matter of seconds.
However, as he was about to answer—“We accept!” someone was much faster than him. The Gang leader raised his head and look at his son whose expression was remorseful, and his voice was shaking. “We accept your condition—the entire Bloodhole Gang will be in your command!”
“Gobing!!”
Cian frowned and stared coldly at him, “Do you have the right to make such decision?” he asked. “I am!” But Gobing grit his teeth and replied, “I am the son of Walhal, the Bloodhole’ Gang’s leader…this Gang will become mine in the future. I have the right! So this decision, I am the one who makes this!” “… …” Cian’s gaze changed. This youth…
His lips under the mask, curled into a grin and his hand slowly loosened. Gobing who seemed to become powerless, fell on the ground, with his handsome expression pale as a sheet of white paper and tears roll on his cheeks.
“Gobing…”
“You didn’t betray the Gang…father, it was me…” Gobing smiled painfully as he lied on the ground, powerless. The Gang leader sigh but he felt touched. He crawled and hugs his beloved son. He knows why Gobing had done this—for the Gang leader to succumb to an enemy was the worst thing possible. And thus, he could never do it even if he dies, but Gobing didn’t want his father to lose his life—so he took all the ire instead of him. His courage and affection are praiseworthy indeed…
Cian thought. It seems like this Gobing is not a hopeless person—
Then, Cian turned around and look at the group of Elders who haven’t yet say anything—including the only female leader—Palaer and the other surviving Elders glanced at each other, noticing the powerlessness and relief flashing across their eyes, they sigh—they then stepped forward and facing Cian, kneeled down in salute, “Greeting the Young Lord!” it was then followed by the other people who were scared stiff and hurriedly did the same.
Cian’s lips under the mask curled upwards, “All of you, stand up.” he looked at the group of Elders that knelt before him and said.
“We thank the Young Lord!” Only then did the Elders and stand up and retreated to the side. Then, Cian’s eyes turned towards Arasol whose face was extremely pale and trembling. Staring at the eyes of the masked youth, Arasol was like a rabbit facing a lion. He knows that his exit was already sealed—after all, this was all done because of his son. And Cian had already said a while ago that he wouldn’t be spared even if he surrenders on him.
“You group of traitors!” he roared in anger! Arasol erupted like an angry lion with all its hair standing on ends, letting out a booming roar, his fists punched out at the two Elders that were closer to him. No one expected Arasol to strike so suddenly before the two Elders could react, they died under Arasol’s fists. Bodies flung to the end of the hall, crashing to the floor. Palaer and the four remaining Elders were taken aback. They hurriedly step back, fearing they would also be sneak attacked.
But, before Arasol’s attack reached its next target, a cold snort sounded in the hall. Cian flew out from his former position and shot at the raging demon imp like an arrow discharged from a bow.
Before the aura of slaughter coming from Cian, Arasol’s heart gave birth to a strong fear, stumbling backward constantly. At this moment, he regretted. Regretted giving birth and spoiling that idiotic son. Because of him, he actually met this kind monster, spelling his own doom, inviting the Death God so early. Deep down, he realized there would be no escape today. And so he wanted to take along as much as people as he can—however, with Cian’s existence, it’s not possible anymore. His heart was like a dying ember—
Pushed to the corner, Arasol raged, his whole body spun. Resplendent images of a fire lances and spears shot out from his body as the temperature around him rose to the peak, more overwhelming than before.
Everyone present knew Arasol was desperate.
And sure enough, Arasol suddenly rammed towards Cian. "I want you dead!" The second-leader-in command of the Bloodhole Gang, Arasol summoned all his might and released them through his body. His flaming hair danced wildly under the unstoppable force, a force that shattered mountain tops and tossed giant rocks into the swirling wind.
"You dare display the depth of your meek powers to me? You can’t wait to die!" Cian shouted, releasing his entire killing intent without holding back. In an instant, a misconception of a heavy stench of blood and rotting decay spread throughout the area that even the weakest person kneeled on the floor and started vomiting, some felt suffocated.
The entire building trembled. The air froze. Every spectator felt himself weakening at the knees as if they instinctively wanted to bow to such a god of war.
In the next instant, all of Arasol’s attacks broken like glassworks, turning into crimson shards of light and Arasol flew backward and smashed into the wall. As he attempted to list himself after hitting solid ground, he expelled a huge splatter of blood out of his mouth.
One round!
No, he would be spitting blood if the battle had been based on momentum alone.
