Chapter 42
Teleportation…?!
No, that was not it! Duke Rabilla might be an idiot in the aspect of magic but he was still a demon. As someone born from magic, he was still sensitive in regards to magic fluctuation—but there was none! The moment Cian used magic, there was no strange fluctuation of mana around him.
In addition, he didn’t see Cian chanting at all…!
To use magic without a chant—even among the magic races, only geniuses can do that! But, he never heard about the 2nd Prince being a genius in magic that can even surpass the 1st Prince! And most of all, the magic and abilities that the Second Prince, Aanuel was using had never been heard by him at all. He had heard about a magic called reflection before, but he had never seen something so strong.
Reflection magic would only able to reflect a magic from someone lower in level compared to the caster. And in addition, when this magic was cast, there was always this mirror-like thing appearing before the caster. Furthermore, it was not capable of defending every direction, as the wider and stronger the reflection was, the greater magic consumption will be…!
And yet, he had not seen anything of these indications before. It’s as if Cian’s reflection magic was automatic and was protecting him in every direction…!
If that was possible… only the Archmage of the Court was capable to do that, especially masking the mirror reflections from the naked eye. So, how is Cian capable of this feat…?
What the hell is happening here…?!
“Hmm… that was some nice reflex you’ve got there…” As Duke Rabilla was full of confusion and disbelief, all while scrutinizing Cian’s full-length capability, the latter’s indifferent voice rang out, attracting the former’s attention.
“… …?!”
“I thought I cut deep but for it be so shallow…” Cian looks at the black dagger in his hand, it was [ Imagis Realis ] taking the shape of a dagger. “Your vision should have been impeded and yet, when my dagger touched your neck, you subconsciously leaned back—that was incredible…” he exclaimed in praise and admiration, for the instinct of the warrior…!
“I’ve seen death many times than you could imagine, your highness—and I’ve survived all of them!” Duke Rabilla scowled. His expression full of anger and humiliation.
The youth they had thought to be nothing but a trash—was actually a cunning predator hiding its sharp fangs and claws, acting like a meek little lamb that seemed to be asking everyone to butcher him. In the end, those who were fooled were eaten in the end, not even bones were left out.
Such patience and acting that even fooled the entire empire—just what is the Second Prince planning all this time…?!
Duke Rabilla gritted his teeth. They thought they were infallible, controlling the entire empire from the shadows and yet they were actually nothing but clowns dancing within the stage, with all limbs controlled by strings from someone in the deepest shadows!
This is bad…!
They must be notified!!
“…Korie! Are you okay?!” Duke Rabilla cried out in an anxious voice.
“… …” Cian turned around and glance at the back, there, the son-of-a-bitch was still alive, breathing raggedly albeit his hands were already in a bad shape and a few burns could be seen all over his body showing his disordered state. If he was ugly before, now he was surely even uglier and looked like Fred*y Krueger. It seems like the attack spell he used against Cian was extremely powerful than normal that he got the brunt of it and end up like that!
Truly pitiful…!
“You, I’m going to kill you. I won’t let you off. I will….” Meeting Cian’s gaze, Korie struggled to his feet. Although his mouth was saying ruthless things, due to pain eating his mind away, he didn’t dare to move and just stared at Cian with eyes full of murderous intent.
Because of that though—
“You dare cursed at my master—?!!”
A clearly enraged icy cold voice suddenly rang out beside Korie, surprising him. He was about to jump away after feeling danger when the shadow beneath him wriggled and coiled around him like a living thing.
“This is—?!!” Korie instantly paled as he felt his body being dragged down. Feeling the pain on his arm and body, he hurriedly opened his mouth and was about to chant his magic when a pair of arms appeared from each side of his shoulders, then they coiled around his neck, strangling him.

“Korie!!” Duke Rabilla cried out and shot himself towards the son-of-a-bitch to save him but that moment,
“… That hurts, did you just ignore me?” Feeling hurt, Cian appeared in front of him, having a sorrowful expression. However, his eyes say otherwise. His eyes gave an impression that is not found on any living normal person……
Duke Rabilla realizes that he can feel chills running down his back.
“Ruka…”
“Yes, Young master!”
“Finish him and after that, loot everything in this house and kill everything you see…” Cian grinned wickedly, his head tilted slightly and his mismatched eyes gleaming in an ominous light. Punishment is deserved…!
Not only Korie or Duke Rabilla, even Ruka was flabbergasted by the sudden order. Her mind blanked out.
“B, but master…” Killing everyone present…? Wouldn’t that mean…
“Do you understand…?” A cold voice rang out. Ruka’s shoulders trembled. “Y, yes!!” She hastily presses the dagger on her hand at Korie's neck, Blood sprouted like petals of roses, and in the ground, a scarlet puddle appeared. Korie’s body started trembling, shaking in a violent manner as if having a spasm.
“Wa, wait!!!”
“YOU DARE!!!”
However, ignoring Korie and Duke Rabilla’s cries, Ruka pierced her dagger deeper in Korie’s neck and plunged it deeper than it could, before moving her hand and slitting the neck in a vicious manner.
“Nooooo!!”
Duke Rabilla heard a noise inside his brains. It seemed that something had snapped within him. His fists were clenched, and like a bloodthirsty monster, his eyes had become redder, and his face had become purple. He suddenly faced upwards and roared, "You’ll die, you BASTARDS!!"
Blood bubbled up on Korie’s mouth as he tried to speak but failed, Ruka still didn’t let go as she pulled the dagger and once again, thrust it… pulled out and thrust it, and pulled and thrust it in again… like a mad psychopath, she does it again and again and again. Ruka bit her lips but she continued doing it to make sure that Korie died even if the God of Death would order him to go back.
Truthfully, this was the first she had killed a person, despite being a demon. However, for her master, she would become a shield to protect him or a blade to kill without hesitation and to do that, she must not become a dull blade!
A dull blade is not suited to stay for his Master’s side…!
One must become a splendid sharp blade that can pierce through any enemies and any beings, steal life and make the river of blood flows…!
Ruka repeatedly stabbed the dagger on Korie’s neck, chest, and head, as if she had lost it until it became a mush. As long as she noticed him twitching, she would plunge the dagger again and again and again!
“YOU BITCH!!! STOP THAT!!!” Duke Rabilla almost went insane as he rushed towards Ruka’s direction—“I SAID STOPPPPP!!”
However, a shadow appeared in front of him and sent a nice roundhouse kick; Duke Rabilla stopped and used his left arm to block. But even then, Duke Rabilla’s arm issued a cracking sound, as if it was being broken to pieces. His blood within his body seemed to have to want to burst outside and explode.
“—Gah?!”
Duke Rabilla jumped back again from the pain. “YOUR HIGHNESS!!!” he cried out in intense madness and anger. “Do you really think you can get away with this?!”
Then, Cian opens his mouth and speaks a single word as a response. His voice is low, and it sounds like a curse. “…Die!”
The sound of this word had hardly faded when a sharp wind blew as an extremely enraged Duke Rabilla disappeared at his location and appeared just behind Cian, he extended his hand to grab the latter’s neck. He believed that making minced meat out of this hateful brat was the only way to soothe his anger…
He had completely ignored Cian’s status and the Empress standing behind him.
He had seemingly ignored only that terrifying Empress in this equation. In fact, he felt that it was fortunate that the Empress wasn’t there at this time, that Cian had shown himself confidently in front of him like an idiot and he believed that the consequent revenge wouldn’t come knocking immediately-after. However, Duke Rabilla had overlooked another thing. And, that aspect was fatal to ignore…
The Irredeemable Duke had fallen into a very disadvantageous position since he had stimulated the air around him with his movements. And, he had unknowingly fallen into Cian’s area of expertise as a result. In fact, Cian could’ve sensed the direction this attack was approaching from... even if he had closed his eyes and his ears…
Moreover, he had been enraged by Cian and Ruka. Therefore, he had lost the genuine edge of a Duke Class Demon…
The black coat-tail was floating beautifully behind Cian. His hands remained still as he quickly dodged the attack, and returned to his position. Then, the second prince’ right hand speedily moved from behind his back and gently moved towards his opponent.
However, judging from their respective physiques, it seemed as if the Second Prince had overestimated his abilities, wanting to attack the raging bull; Duke Rabilla who prided himself in his physical abilities…
‘Hmph! A show-off!’ Duke Rabilla snorted in disdain as his lips arched into a grin.
However, what happened next cause others who saw it in disbelief.
A gale swept through them like a blast wave. Duke Rabilla opened his eyes wide in shock as he saw debris coming from beneath him surge upward. It then created a twister made of these rubbles, smashing against Duke Rabilla from beneath at an incredible speed.
Taking this blow head-on, Duke Rabilla stumbled and several sharp rocks pierced through his limbs and body.
Cough! Duke Rabilla coughed up a mouthful of blood. His eyes fixed at Cian who was looking at him quietly was incredulous, surely the expression behind that mask was indifference, no, smiling—as if having fun on the situation.
The difference between the ranks of the Second Prince and Duke Rabilla is that of heaven and earth! Yet, the young, ignorant prince has managed to injure the Duke of the Demon Empire? This is unbelievable!
Who would’ve believed this incredible thing unless they witnessed it with their own eyes?
No one would’ve dared to believe it…
If it was the first prince, then, Duke Rabilla wouldn’t think of it but it was the waste, Second Prince who is known for being trash in magic and combat. Although he can use the sword to some degree but it was still not yet to the point of being able to be on par with Duke Rabilla. Even the speed, agility, and experience of both people were completely different…
And yet…
How…?!
Duke Rabilla was an experienced man. However, he himself was unwilling to believe that he had been injured until he felt that stabbing pain in his body. And, this was because the one who had injured him was a brat of no more than seventeen years in age…
He had not yet even able to come closer yet…
How the hell is this possible…?!
