V2 Chapter 119

“Since we are already close anyway, it wouldn’t be bad to play for a while,” he muttered with a mischievous smile. He then pulled out his sword and slashed the trunk of the tree.

From it, he further split it into four sharp-headed planks. The front of the plank was slightly sticking upwards. The size of it was similar to the size of their feet. He then peeled off the tree bark and used it as a rope, made two holes at both sides, inserts the rope and tied the planks on both his feet.

Sibylla looked at him curiously, but couldn't understand what he was doing.

What is he going to do with those wooden planks?

Sibylla reaffirmed the fact that no matter how long they have been together, she would never be able to understand her lover. Especially his sudden whims. She would never be able to understand what goes inside his mind—it’s as if, his mind was worlds apart from her. As she brooded in this kind of complicated emotions, Cian chopped off another two branches that were slightly longer and gently moved his legs.

“Let’s do this…!” he looked at Sibylla and flashed his trademark grin. “This is how you play with snow,” With a push, he skied through the snow. Sibylla who was watching gasped, eyes wide opened as she could not believe what she was seeing.

With a branch in each hand, he pushed himself left and right and skillfully glided through the snow. It looked so effortless. Even when passing through areas that were covered with trees, he could nimbly ski through, and even flipped in the air when he flew due to a snow-made ramp. It was incredible.

He was so good at it that even when he was passing through those thick layers of snow, he could easily pass through it without stopping. Like a fish in the water, Cian was able to move around freely—as if he was he was a spirit.

It looked extremely fun…

In an instance, with rotation and skidding, Cian ended his performance and stopped in front of Sibylla. He waved the branches in his hands and grinned, "Did you see? This is what you call Skiing, amazing isn’t it?!"

Sibylla recovered from her shock and excitedly said, " Quickly teach me! "

Her expression beamed as her earlier thoughts disappeared without a trace. She looks like a child who saw an interesting toy She eagerly followed Cian and tied the planks to her legs and got two long branches as well. After she put on her gears, she stood up with childish excitement.

But just as she was about to ski, she slipped and was about to fall. In a hurry, she used the branches in her hands to support herself. But she still could not find her balance. Startled, she immediately used her magic power to support herself, but she could not find her center of gravity, hence she was still unbalanced. She had no choice but to lift herself up from the ground to find her balance.

She then landed back down straight into the deep snow. Even though she did not fall, but as a person with superhuman attributes and abilities, and most of all princess status, it was a huge embarrassment...

Cian watched her in amusement, laughing.

This caused Sibylla to even more embarrassed.

"Oh, mock me, why don’t you. Laugh all you want until you die!” Sibylla’s face immediately turned beet red and she glared at Cian who was currently laughing without end.

“Alright, alright, I’m sorry for laughing then,” Cian immediately conceded defeat as soon as he saw Sibylla’s teary eyes. She has always been bad at being embarrassed. Cian smiled wryly and didn’t dare tease her again.

"How did you do it? Tell me!" Seeing Cian’s consoling expression, Sibylla was flustered. She stared fiercely at Cian, feeling humiliated. She saw how he skied so easily but yet when she tried it on; it was actually not that easy. What frustrated her, even more, was that instead of helping her, Cian stood by her side and laughed at her misfortune—truly hateful!

Cian controlled his laughter with great difficulty and demonstrated to her, "Sister, how can you try to run when you can't even walk? Whatever skill you learn there's knowledge behind it. I think although this is quite hard for a beginner with superhuman abilities like you, you just need to understand the essence behind it and it will be very easy for you to master it. First, though, you need to find your center of gravity…Pull out all the stops,” Cian started. “And remember: keep your body weight forward, okay? Body weight forward.”

“Balance…Body weight forward” echoed the voice in Sibylla’s head.

“Correct, don't use too much of your energy or your strength...yes. Go along with inertia force… the branches are in your hands! You are not using it as a decoration, use it to support yourself…you stupid girl!..." Cian taught her seriously.

"///"

"Keep your weight uphill, plant your branches, turn. Lean on your boots. Now shift your body weight forward, okay? Bo-dy weight for-ward." Although she was delighted about the minute closer and leaning against each other as Cian taught her, he was making a big fuss. Sibylla felt enrage and just as she lost her concentration, she lost her balance, slipped and fell hard on her butt…

She slammed her hands onto the ground out of frustration and the snow splattered everywhere...

Can’t you be a little gentle…?!

When she once again fell down, Cian skied to her immediately and helped her up while dusting the snow off her. He asked her with concern, "Why are you so careless? Does it hurt? Did you injure yourself?!"

Sibylla felt bashful. As an expert with tiptop skills, she actually lost to a simple game like this. But why is it so hard to balance anyway? It’s as if she was standing in the middle of a slippery area and just couldn’t stand up properly. Luckily there wasn't anyone nearby, if not she would be embarrassed to death.

But hearing Cian’s concern voice, she actually felt happy about it. Sibylla rolled her eyes and furrowed her brows. With a worried face, Cian said with an innocent ‘I’m worried about you,’ kind of face; "Do not fall till you injure yourself…" while speaking, his hands secretly went up to her butt and he gently rubbed it.

While feeling balmy, he asked with concern, "Does it hurt here? Why don't you take your clothes off, I will help you rub it… ouch...oh my god… it hurts… you're killing...killing your husband!"

Just as he was making use of his concern to take advantage of her, Sibylla immediately detected his immoral behavior and fling him off harshly. Cian who was enjoying himself at the moment let down his defense and fell into the ground brutally. Luckily, the ground was covered with snow, if not he would be severely injured.

Sibylla blushed and glared at him, " You lecher! I’m already in pain and yet you are still taking advantage of this lady!?"

Cian cried out, feeling wronged, "How am I a lecher? I'm just showing concern for you. Why can't you recognize your husband’s good intention? If there's a bruise... would I be the one feeling painful?”

"Hmph! As if I would believe a pervert’s words like yours," Sibylla snorted out angrily.

Cian stared at her, and then suddenly burst out laughing. Sibylla was the same. After seeing Cian laughing in the ground with snow on his handsome face, she too couldn’t help but laugh as well. After that, Cian kept a gentle smile on his face the whole time he was teaching her. He slowly and understandingly coached her to ski, passing down all his knowledge to her.

On the other hand, Sibylla kept on an intoxicated smile while she joyfully learned from him. She realized how precious this time was, being with him, alone. Nothing to worry about, nothing to care—it’s as if the world only has him and her.

So valuable… so rare…

While one of them tried his best to teach, the other did her best to learn. Within just a short period of time, Sibylla’s improvement was extremely huge. As a demon with superhuman attributes above that of even peak humans, her extreme comprehensive skills were very high. She only needed to practice any movements once and she'll master their essence. Furthermore, skiing was easy to pick up, especially for superhumans like Sibylla whose body was way more flexible than those humans who have reached the peak. In a few days, it would not be surprising if she surpassed Cian...

However, secretly even though Sibylla have already learned the movements, she pretended to have not and flightily request for Cian to teach her once more, just like a maiden flirting with her lover. Of course, with Cian’s power of observation, how could he not notice it? However, she did not expose her and so the two of them happily stayed engrossed in the process...

In the wild, suddenly felt like it was springtime...

Even the piercing cold winter winds seemed to have become friendlier and more intimate...

In the chilling cold of Winter Mountain, a pair of shadows intertwined in the woods back and forth until night fell and two shooting stars skid across the night sky, leaving delicate trails behind them, shuttling between the mountains and woods. Sibylla finally mastered all the techniques of skiing. Like a child with a new toy, she tirelessly wanted Cian to practice with her cheerfully...

Suddenly, as Cian watched Sibylla play in the snow, like a little snow fairy, his gaze turned cold as he turned towards the other direction.

Although we indeed had delayed our time to play around, for them to catch up…indeed, what a troublesome bunch. I could have let Secondo and the rest to deal with them so that no one can disturb Sibylla playing. But they too have their own duties to do. And against these people, those from the Bloodhole Gang would be like sending ants against a dog. They would just be free fertilizers.

As I thought, my current force is still insufficient. Although I had numbers, the quality of experts in my possession is just too little. Not like something I could help with—most members of Cian’s force; The Garden of Eden was actually just servants he had bought from all over the place. Although most are capable but compared to those nurtured by large groups, only several can be compared.

A year’s worth of development still can’t compare to that of decades…

Although Cian planned not to let the {Garden of Eden} become a business centered organization and more into military power in the beginning—still, that was quite difficult to achieve. Just like what he had said before, it’s like trying to run before learning how to walk.

In fact, if not for Sibylla, even in the Business Aspect, the {Garden of Eden} would still not reach this kind of height in just a year even with Cian’s business ideas and inventions. He has plans and schemes but it’s completely different in a business sense. He possesses quite a bit, but compared to Sibylla who should be called a ‘Genius’, he was just above average business-minded people at most.

In addition, although he was able to create wide information network which he was quite specialized in compared to normal business; it was still not as wide as most special information networks, like his mother or that of the mysterious Bluebird. He was only able to cover several areas due to lacking specialized manpower.

Unfortunately, there’s a limit to what he can do with it…

Haaa… I guess, for the time being, I still need to do everything. Cian sigh as he called Sibylla back and told her about the pursuers. Although they are still quite a distance from them, it would be better to take the initiative to say hello.

“…so you want to ambush these people? I don’t mind. However, now that we are hiding here, how can we ambush them?"

Cian smiled wryly. Sometimes, Sibylla can be so gentle and nice, like a traditional woman. However, there are still times when she suddenly acts out of character and become ruthless. Even Cian didn’t know which her true self is—he had asked once but she only replied by saying, ‘Dryads are the Children of Nature. And just like nature, sometimes we are gentle and comforting but when angered, our wrath would make the world tremble’ with an amused expression, which Cian seemed to understand but not understand at the same time. Well, not like it is a problem…

In fact, Cian prefers this kind of woman as she would be able to protect and defend herself when the time comes she needed to.

Cian shrugged his shoulders with a leisurely smile, "At this time, they must still be looking for a suitable ambush location. According to my eyes, it is not far from us. There is a path along a valley with two tall mountains at its two sides, a calabash-shaped valley. The entry points are narrow with a wide space in the middle. If there are people guarding the entry points and are determined to annihilate the ambushed ones, no matter how powerful the ambushed ones are, it would be very difficult to escape unscathed. Especially since quite a big amount of snow has collected in the valley, movements were hampered and the environment was disadvantageous. Hence, based on my gauge, no matter who they send first, they would pick that spot!"

"Hmm? Was there really no other better way out?" Sibylla frowned.

“The problem is, that valley is the only route towards the closest city. And if we avoid it, we might need to go around a longer path, a more dangerous one—of course, I don’t mind if that happens. We’re not in a hurry anyway,”

After all, this is just a one month trip, and Cian’s purpose on this trip was just to see the human world and assess the situation himself. He was not yet prepared to appear in front of many people, especially his former classmates. That day needed a lot of preparation in his part and he doesn’t want to be short on that.

Right now, his status is extremely ambiguous and the Gods behind them is quite difficult to deal with. Although he didn’t believe Night’s words completely, he was still quite biased against them and inclined Night’s purpose. Although the powers of the Gods were limited in the mortal world, who knows if they were able to see his true status as the Prince of the Demons. If they divulge it to the group, he would be endangered and his plans would be in the brink of failure.

At least before he could have a stable foothold in this world, not as a human, not a demon either—but his own foothold.

Loyal, trustworthy people that can be used as his limbs. So, whether it was the human and his classmates that wanted to block his path, or the Demon World when his identity was blown away, he would still have a place to stand on…!

And so, to do that, Cian wanted to see the human world’s situation for himself. After all, only a bit of information he had in the human world and most were actually in hearsays and stories he read and heard. It’s different to see using one’s eyes and hear using one’s ears than learned from a second-hand source.

“Nah, I’ll pass with that. Although I’m able to clean my body using magic, I still wanted some proper bath—it’s too uncomfortable without one for a long time,” Sibylla complained. Although there was a water reservoir they found along the way—but it’s frozen and some were too cold. Only idiots would take a bath there.

Cian nodded his head. As a modern man not having a bath for a few days is also making him uncomfortable, "I am also contemplating how we can counter-ambush them! We had enough rest last night and tonight we are staying here. We've given them enough time to prepare! Unless they had no intention of dealing with me, by this time, these idiots would have been way ahead of us and completed their preparation! This wait was for both sides to create the perfect opportunity. If they don't cherish it, they must be too stupid..."

Though, another question pop-out, did they just try to wait for us in that route because they couldn’t find them? Or did they know where they are…? Well, having our position being leak would be impossible. So that only leaves the chances of someone among the group possessing the perception-type ability. Now, that’s troublesome…

Cian told Sibylla his hypothesis, causing the latter to frown grimly. If it was so, she really could not think of any way to cross the road unless they did it forcefully.

However, if they went in forcefully, they would have to pay a high price.
