Chapter 40
As Cian hid in the darkness, a smile appeared on his lips.
From the embrace of the shadows, his figure concealed—his gaze was fixed on his next prey, or should he call it: Preys instead.
It’s time for a feast, you fattened beasts. Cian muttered with a cold smile that heralded the night of slaughter—the night where blood would be spilled and life be stolen!
When Cian arrived in his destination, like a persistence of a snake, agility of an eagle and the silence of a spider, he waited for a chance to come and observed the entire mansion without overlooking even the slightest part of the place. Then, several lights started going off and Cian began his slaughter. When he jumped into the two to a three-meter tall fence, he found some large dogs lying on the ground. Their faces and appearance so ugly and terrifying, they looked like hounds of hell.
Tricking their senses using the [ Eye of Night ] and [ Vector Body ], repelling the wind and air that might cause his smell to spread through the air, he appeared just beside the beasts and one by one gutted them out—blood and entrails spilling in the ground. To avoid the smell of blood spreading through the air, he took out a [ Decomposing Liquid ] a kind of agent that when poured atop a corpse or body will cause the body to instantly decompose and disappear,
Si! Ksshhhh!!
The bodies of the beasts started to decompose slowly. Even flesh and bone were destroyed and vanish in thin air, leaving not a speck of blood and smell. This miraculous evidence-destroying medicine was created by people who were known as the alchemist, although the cost was quite expensive for an average person but for Cian, the Second Prince, there are many ways to get out without being known that he was the one who had bought it.
He made use of this to the Beasts because this beast known as Hell Dogs had a very pungent scent of blood and would surely attract unwanted attention if killed.
After slaughtering all of the Hell Dogs lying around the Mansion, Cian started raiding the Mansion. The guards outside the mansion seemed to be snoring—completely not expecting a massacre would happen in this bright full moon!
Cian casually slits their throats with [ Imagis Realis ]that had turned into a dagger, silently and quickly they stood to die with closed eyes, not knowing that they had died and was on their way to the King of Hell. Along the way, he dragged and killed every guard he had passed into the shadows and destroyed every monitoring crystal and golems on his way. His footsteps so light and all his actions were devoid of any useless movements, all killed in one action—throat, brain, eyes, heart—every attack hits vital points killing the victim and then reversing the blood flow from their bodies, destroying it on the process, in order to make sure that they would never stand up again!
In order for him to work without leaving any pieces of evidence, he needed to be as discreet as possible.
What made Cian curious was that when he went inside the mansion, there was another room with its lights on. He walked in a bit and scanned with his eyes. As expected, there were still a few people inside discussing something that still wasn’t sleeping.
That Duke Rabilla was there but other than him, there was also a 20-or-so-year-old looking young demon with a green skin. Two bulky guards were standing at the door, Cian went over quietly, and with just a casual swipe of his hand, these two bulky men silently collapsed, their head made arcs in the air in which Cian grabbed and placed it down on the floor quietly.
The two real targets were sitting at the couch, drinking wines and chatting—“Uncle Rabilla, that Pufaros did things well today, with these two little girls staying over tonight with him, Raktos shouldn’t keep finding excuses anymore. I don’t believe that the 2nd Prince could still run with Raktos helping us,” although this youth’s voice wasn’t loud, it was full of confidence.
Raktos…? Ah! That hedonist son of the General Talwas…?
General Akapati Talwas should be on my elder brother’s faction…wasn’t he?
Duke Rabilla nodded and said, “You’re right Korie, although Raktos is only so-so, the power behind him is sometimes more useful than a government wanted list. I’m just worried that those few old people under his father would disapprove.”
“Disapprove? Raktos is Akapati’s only son. Even if he wanted the moon in the skies, he would pick it for him. With his power, he would have ten times more ways of eliminating the 2nd Prince than I have. Although the Habarati Family is one of the six great families of the Empire, there are still some things that we can’t do overtly. It would be best if we hand it to Akapati.”
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
This Korie seemed to take Akapati very seriously but was obviously contemptuous towards Raktos.
Well, I guess that wasn’t that unexpected!
Raktos Talwas was a kindred soul mate of the former 2nd Prince. Their modus operandi was quite similar…
After stopping, Korie said, “That idiot Pufaros is getting worse, he actually got two idiots to assault that idiot prince and yet still couldn’t do the job done. Not only did they not manage to kill him, but they got themselves into trouble. The Empress was already alarmed by this—due to this, we wouldn’t be able to move as much for a while. What a failure of a person.”
He even sneered after talking.
“I will take care of Pufaros and his two underlings. We can’t let them live now that the Empress Cage was rattled. If she knows what we did, not only us but the entire clan would surely be slaughtered. As for the 2nd Prince, isn’t there a girl around him that we can use? The bastard child of the Harsbern. Looking at that servant, she seemed to have some feelings for the prince, what an idiot! Perhaps we can use this to deal with him,” Duke Rabilla said.
Korie shook his head: “You are underestimating the 2nd Prince. According to my recent investigation, I found this guy was the typical person who acts like a pig to eat the tiger. Not only is he quite skillful, but he is also very cunning. Didn’t you see the [ Imagis Realis ] is now in his hand?”
“… …”
“That kind of weapon is not something an idiot can just wield. There should be something special in that idiot prince! In fact, if it wasn’t for this, it wouldn’t be necessary for us to go to someone like that idiot Raktos. After all, if this spreads, it won’t do good for the Habarati Family.”
Cian leaned on the wall, his lips arching.
Ahaha, ahahahaha…! He bit his lips, enduring the urge to laugh. Yeah, he wanted to laugh… Ahhh…
Damn it! Damn it!
Ahahahahahaha….
Ah… I want to laugh out loud! I want to scream…
Ruka who was following Cian quietly stared at the latter, shocked and dumbfounded. She was greatly angered; angry enough to kill—however, that wasn’t what was important anymore.
Right beside her, her beloved prince and master’s body was trembling—trembling as if he was being rattled by something. However, when Ruka was about to ask what was happening, she saw Cian making a full wide smile on his lips.
But this wasn’t smile she used to love… it wasn’t the smile that makes her heartthrobs… no! It still would but for some reason, it makes her heartthrob in a very different meaning!
Fear…
That’s right… Cian’s expression right now was the most terrifying face Ruka had seen in her entire life.
Suddenly, Ruka started trembling and her hair became erected. Staring at the cold gaze of Cian, cold sweat began to appear.
He looked like he was laughing as he was smiling but the smile didn’t reach his eyes at all. His beautiful eyes that she loved and dear was cold and devoid of any warmth. Then,
Blood… that’s right!
A soft *pata pata* sound echoed throughout the corridor.
A red line streak to Cian’s face, coming from the corner of his eyes.
Tears of Blood…
“Ma, master…?”
“Haa…?” Cian turned his head and stared at Ruka. A demonic smile was on his face, yet his eyes were so cold Ruka felt it in her marrow—that kind of cold and thin…it went down her spine like ice.
“… …” Ruka’s body shivered.
“Ruka… what do I do? I felt really good tonight…” Cian muttered.
“Master… what are you…”
“I want to kill…” He muttered softly.
“…?!”
Cian touched his face with his palm. Ahahahahaha—
—Thump—!
What...
...is this?
—Thump—!!
A heartbeat that seemed to sear into him shuddered through Cian’s body. Twice. Three times. It continued.
That was what it was.
Blood is rising to his head—a sensation that he was no longer able to think.
That’s right… killing is fun…!!
A voice spoke those words...from his heart, the very center of his soul, from the depths...
Cian could hear the voice. That very familiar voice, he once hated and despised—
This is...!!
Cian leaned against the wall, clutching his chest so hard it looked like he was going to tear his heart out.
I...can no longer stop this flow of blood. Damn it!!
—But, who cares?
Suddenly, Cian started to feel as if it didn't matter.
—I get it, I get it.
It doesn't matter. Nothing matters.
It looks like no matter what, I have to kill.
Then, as you wish, I will play this game with you.
Ahahahahahahaha—!!!!
The normal Cian would definitely be unwilling to say these words.
But now, it was different!
Madness!
If Cian’s elder sister was here, she would surely be ecstatic!
This is why the Cahlo Family was feared through the history of the Underworld. It’s not because of [ Blood Release ] that they couldn’t use unless they are prepared to die—but…
Aside from the fact that they possess; [ Blood Release ] a kind of supernatural ability, they are manic in killing!
—in their Family who had the blood of a demon, the direct bloodline possess a strange trait called [ Madness ] or MAD for short. It was a change in personality by a sudden surge of emotions.
Greed, Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth, and lastly Wrath—these are the seven primary change that could evoke [ Madness ] of every family member of the Cahlo Clan.
If someone desires something so strongly, he could kill!
If someone challenged his Pride, they needed to die!
If someone evokes the lust to some extent or abstained from it, even their partners they would kill them like a Praying mantis or a poisonous Black Widow!
If they were starved to death, they would devour everything—even flesh and bones!
If they saw something they lacked and yet possessed by someone, then it’s better that no one would take it if they can’t!
If someone disturbs their peace or rest, they would have the urge to kill to return that peace.
… And lastly, if some angers them—touch the very core they have, [ Madness ] will occur!
