V2 Chapter 70
For the second time around, the entire Northern Border was turned upside down.
The careful strategy they created to entrap Ezra Redhawk has gone for naught and even let the other party escape alive.
This was a shame..!
A thorough humiliation—!
... ...
In a beautiful garden reminiscent of middle ages, with eye-catching palatial architecture, rockery was heaped and trees were casually planted at calculated positions.
The constructed pond was wide enough for boats and even contained three islands, linked to one another by azure-painted bridges.
A strange sight in this winter land.
A specially allotted plot of land which embodied the essence of beautiful natural scenery.
A beautiful woman with an icy cold expression was sitting under a shed in the well-known second Great Mansion of the Northern Border that is second only to the Northern Winter Palace. She has a head full of glossy blue hair cascading her shoulders, and her gaze full of boredom and indifference, that seemed too detached from the world. Her movement and behavior were nonchalant and full of leisure like a passing wind, yet they exude simple elegance and beauty that could make many people, man or woman, old and young stopped in their track, to turn and see.
She was like a celestial Goddess—only if not for the two pairs of horns at each side of her head, revealing her true race.
A demon…!
And yet, even though these characteristics would scare any people who had seen it, but to this beautiful woman, it’s as if it was just a decoration on her head, giving her beauty and elegance an enchanting ambiance.
As the beautiful figure savored the quietness and peacefulness of the place, silent footsteps rang out like wind bells being swayed by the wind appeared from behind her.
“It’s a miracle, I say, for the infamous Princess of Ice to seek for me.” Without turning her head, the beautiful blue haired woman muttered with a faint smile as she brought the teacup on her captivating blue colored lips. “I’m honored,”
“Greetings your Excellency Blue Bird,” Oriel stop a few meters away from Blue Bird and bowed slightly. Although they are really not that friendly, Oriel still needed to show some respect towards the infamous untouchable woman in the Demon Empire, second only to her mother; The Empress. “I came to seek for advice and hope for help,”
Neither overbearing nor too submissive.
Blue Bird’s lips curled into a faint smile. “It seems so, however, I dislike formalities so you can be at ease, my dear niece. Why don’t you join me?”
“I thank your Excellency,” Oriel nodded and walk towards the opposite side of the small marble table.
She then sat in an elegant manner.
Blue Bird picks up the small white kettle and poured hot tea on the cup, then pushing it towards Oriel.
The latter accepted it with grace and slowly sipped on it.
“I know why you came here for, but I fear, I can’t be of help,”
Oriel’s lips twitched.
Clank! She placed down the teacup on the saucer and face Blue Bird, with an indifferent expression she said; “Then, as I thought, Your Excellency knows who the Garden of Eden are…?”
Blue Bird smiled faintly, “…you’re thinking highly of me. Even for me, the Garden of Eden is still a mystery… a mystery I’m not completely certain of…”
“…?” Oriel frowned.
“However, I have my own guesses and if I am not mistaken, I advise you not to pursue this matter…” Bluebird smiled faintly.
“What does your excellency mean? Please elaborate, this princess knows not possessed half of Her Excellency’s vast Knowledge…!”
“Hahaha, your aura is as fierce as your mother back in the day….”
“… …”
“Oh well, I can’t say much about it as it all still my conjecture. Even for me, the Garden of Eden is as slippery as an ‘eel’, or should I say, ‘that’ boy is as ghastly as a ghost. Whether it is a fur or a tail, I still cannot catch them.”
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
A slight annoyance appeared on the Blue Bird’s face.
This change caused a shock to Oriel but face remained impassive.
To be able to make the Azure Empress; Blue Bird to say this. this ‘boy’ she mentioned… who is it…?
How did such a person appear outside of our knowing…?
Oriel frowned.
“Don’t make such a face, even if you want to ask I can’t tell you who it is. I don’t have an obligation to. All I can say is that, whether this Garden of Eden really exists or just an illusion created by ‘that’ boy, I can say for certain that they are of no harm to you…”
“What does Excellency means by that…?”
“Take it as a face value…”
Oriel’s brows furrowed and her expressionless face changed into a fierce expression; “No harm to me?! Your Excellency does attacking my brother means no harm to me!? Is that what you are trying to say?!”
Bang! Oriel’s palm slams on the marble table, causing the cup and pastries to shake. However, although Oriel’s strength can destroy rocks and boulders with a slap, the marble table still remained unmoved, which is an unexpected sight…!
Blue Bird was still unperturbed.
“Was that really the Garden’s intention…?” she asked, an amused smile appearing on her face.
“… …??”
Blue Bird smirked. “If I’m not mistaken, the human knight who had managed to escape the Dungeon had done that, not the Garden itself~”
“Then what about the self-proclaimed Killer who killed a lot of my men and saved that accursed human knight…? He is the only identified member of this Garden of Eden…! Why did he saved this accursed human and even killed a lot of my men if she was not a member of the Garden of Eden?!”
Bluebird smiled; “…are you really certain she was a member of the Garden of Eden?”
“What are you trying to say?” Oriel frowned.
Blue Bird shrugs nonchalantly, “I don’t know the relationship between the human knight and the Garden of Eden but from what I know, the person, Killer himself claimed that that was a personal action, not the Garden’s intention itself. Then, don’t you think there is still something behind this…?”
“… …”
Staring at Oriel's darkened expression, Bluebird sigh. She shook her head, “Right now, you are too sentimental, my dear niece. Your judgment is clouded by your wrath you were unable to see past things… you need to calm down.”
Oriel gritted her teeth, but she took a deep breath and anger disappeared in her eyes. She stared at Blue Bird, “Then, are you saying this Garden of Eden is an ally…?”
“No,” But Blue Bird shook her head. “That’s not what I meant. I myself am still unable to clearly see its intention. However, this for certain, I’m sure, it would be of no harm to you…”
“… …” Oriel frowned. She couldn’t understand. She claimed she couldn’t see their true intentions and yet why is she so certain that they would not mean any ill towards her…?
What does she mean by that…?
However, Blue Bird didn’t say anything anymore.
No matter what Oriel ask, the former remained silent.
… …
After the failed attempt to catch Ezra Redhawk, Oriel’s mood plummeted and the City’s security became even tighter. It was to the point that not even a mouse was left off. However, Oriel also placed Blue Bird’s words into consideration and didn’t place much attention to the Mysterious Organization known as Garden of Eden, and instead focus her attention towards the Human Knight.
Although she didn’t know what the human knight’s relationship towards the Mysterious Organization was, she was certain that she is not a member, or at least not yet to be!
She can spare Killer in the name of the Mysterious Organization but she would never spare Ezra Redhawk as the one who had almost killed and placed her beloved brother’s life in danger was none other than her.
No matter what happens, she would never be reconciled of letting her go!
As for the Mysterious Organization, although she didn’t fear them, she understands how deadly and troublesome making an opponent out of something she didn’t completely comprehend. If Blue Bird said that they didn’t want to be her opponent, then she would hold her hand for the moment. But that doesn’t mean she believes them. To her, she was just waiting for them to stumble and create a trail that she can follow. Although she didn’t dare dig much deeper to them and challenge their bottom line, it doesn’t mean she would just turn a blind eye to them.
Attacking her brother was a grave sin…!
Even if you are not an enemy I would still make sure you all would pay for it a hundredfold…!!
Oriels hatred and fury was obvious to all, even to Cian. But he can only smile wryly and avoid the latter. Because of this, Ezra Redhawk was returned to being a servant of the Second Demon Prince; Aanuel for the time being. Though, apparently, this time, Ezra didn’t feel any misgivings on becoming one as much as before.
The only problem was that Ezra managed to connect things about the conversation of Cian and the Demon General Profar about the Garden of Eden and was extremely curious about it. Cian, though acting reluctant, told her all about it, and saying that his goal for creating such an organization was to build a safe haven for demons and other races to live peacefully together.
Cian thought she would suspect anything about it, but shockingly enough, Ezra never doubted even a bit of his words and even complimented him about it.
To this, Cian treats it as a heavenly blessing.
Since he was planning on drawing her to his side, he wanted someone like her to be his hand. He expected that he would still need a bit of time before completely subduing her, but who would have expected she would come to him on her own accord.
Really, just like the old say, becoming a hero who saves a beauty in distress is one of the greatest ways to capture a woman's heart!
Ezra happily turned at Cian, wanting to lend her help to him...and to succeed on his dream of coexisting.
Cian was extremely happy that everything was going on as he intended them to be. Though, of course, he was still a bit wary about this human knight, still, she could be of use by now.
As to whether he would send her back to the human world or not, will still a need of time to prove. And Cian would make use of this time that her sister was locking down the City to hold her down to his side and observe her.
Ezra Redhawk…
Whether she could be of use or not, Cian wants to observe her carefully.
… …
