V2 Chapter 200

Caught off-guard, the Grakilis Chief was blown away in the direction of a nearby building, with the combined momentum of him lurching forward and the force of Cian’s punch.

Blood sprayed in the air, as Grephal vomited a mouthful of blood.

He could not even scream in pain as he flew in the air, crashing against straw-huts and houses in the way.

Alongside yet another thunderous explosion, the Grakilis Chief; Grephal opened a large hole in the wall he crashed into, shaking the entire building.

Cian landed on the ground, grinning; “Tear me apart? A high ambition you have there. But that’s impossible with that little ability of yours. I can see through you like an open book, you idiot. However, if you're lookin' to lose body parts, do stick around and try! I’ll mince ya right finely, as you like.”

He slashed the thin black sword that seemed to break with the slightest touch of the opponent’s large axe, but didn’t. In fact, if one looks closely, the Grakilis battle axe instead, was the one that had a crack on its blade.

Trying to overwhelm [Imagis Realis] using size will never work.

At that instant, Cian suddenly turned and swung his black sword. There, a figure was pouncing at him. However, before the figure could attack, Cian’s surprise attack aimed at a gap in the neck of the Grakilis who was wearing a black leather armor struck true, and the monster collapsed, unable to make a sound, blood gushing from his neck.

Following the monster’s failed attempt, a group appeared behind him.

They are a group of more than ten people consisted of Grakilis, Pig Beastmen, and High-Goblins due to their stature which was much higher than normal goblins, but they still look ugly nonetheless. Although they had chosen a rather good moment to attack, nevertheless, Cian, rather than admiration, only felt irritation come gushing forth.

He wordlessly turned around towards them, and sneered in contempt; “Okay, that’s minus points. Rather than bloodlust, all of your voice had already reached your target first before your murderous intention could. What’s the point of assassination, then? Why don’t you shout the name of your attack as well? Are you taking me for a fool?!”

Displeased by their loud cries, the moment he grasped the hilt of his sword, his right eye gleamed and the monsters seemed to freeze mid-air.

Ka-chink!!

Although it’s only for a moment when the monsters had shaken their lagging, Cian had already passed by them, already slashing their throats in succession, and they died without being able to raise their voices again.

Blood spurted like a fountain on their slitted throat and pierced chest. However, this slaughter seemed to have incensed the monsters even more, as although frightened by his power, many more monsters came charging in.

“Emitting bloodthirst so wildly, it’s unpleasant, you know. Amateur. If you want to assassinate someone, make sure you know how to conceal your bloodlust first, stupid.”

“Kill him!!!”

“Now is the time, surround him!!”

The weapons of the monsters were better-made spears seemly made from iron and steel. There were even crossbows and javelins in the rear. Although Cian had already noticed this before, the level of technology of the Grakilis seemed to be even better than the Sordan Tribe. It seems like the Grakilis are indeed gifted tinkers, aren’t they?

The vanguards of the monsters hurried to set up their spears aiming for the approaching enemy. Cian waited for the moment they thrust their spears at him. Keeping his body low and sliding along the ground, he evaded the incoming spears.

Passing below the outstretched spears, Cian kicked one monster down and stood up while slicing the legs off the goblins on the right and left side. The monsters whose legs were cut off were thrashing around on the ground trying to recover from their sorry state. Meanwhile, the other monsters threw their spears down to prepare other weapons.

Using this opening in defense to hack away at both parties, Cian dispatched several of the monsters that were rushing at him quickly. In response to the slaughtering ensuing, dark red liquid sputtered all around. While basking in the crowd that tried scattering away from him as they were mowed down, Cian confirmed one fact.

“I’m starting to like fighting more than before.”

The sight of the river of blood flowing in front of him seemed to awaken something inside of him. The screams and cries of agony and fear... the sense of superiority... the taste of absolute power. It's almost a similar feeling when he's drunk. Yes, this is incredibly intoxicating.

This feeling of power and dominion.

Perhaps this is the influence of Aanuel, the true Demon, or the fact that he had changed in various ways upon arriving in this world. Nevertheless, the killing that he had loathed so much before, doesn’t seem to be that bad now.

Turning his eyes looking for the next target to attack, he didn’t even bother looking at the result of his previous one. Though, the only thing that made Cian doubt, was the fact that among the people attacking him, there seem to be no magic users.

Every tribe should have at least one magic-user, if not an existence like a shaman would do.

Are Grakilis, monsters that aren't blessed with magic?

And although the Grakilis Chief was able to use [Earth Wall] an Earth-type Magic System spell but other than that, there seemed to be nothing else. Could it be that it is not magic like he had expected?

If not, then it must be a skill…

Could it be a blessing holder like Cornelia?

While thinking about that, Cian continued killing.

Every passing second there were even more victims of his bloody massacre. And rivers of blood and mountains of flesh had already appeared, horrifying the surrounding people, that even those who were charging previously with horrifying courage was now trembling on the ground, not daring to move in fear.

Repelling a small sword with his black sword, he stroke his sword into the upper body of a shivering monster. The blade of the black sword bit deep into the flesh. Since it was too difficult to pull it out, he simply tossed the dying body at another monster. Pressing on, he mercilessly crushed the demi-humans who tried to escape from him as they stumbled about.

“Well, well, this is merely the beginning,”

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Whether it was a head, a belly, or an arm, he relentlessly crushed them.

Driving the black sword into a screaming mouth while chopping off the hand trying to help. He didn’t care about weak counter-attacks to the degree of only grazing him either. Choosing to repel only those attacks that were dangerous, he returned the favor by swinging his sword at the attackers.

Suddenly,

"Hmph."

Cian spun around and kicked the empty air right behind him.

SLAM!!

“Aaaaahhhh!!”

Accompanied by a short, breathless cry, a figure had revealed himself from there and flew away like a cannonball, before heavily crashing into a wall.

"Hah, this stupid a*shole. Not even listening to what people say, really an idiot. Much worse is that, he’s a dumba*s who doesn’t even know the basics!!"

This guy was exactly the type that movie directors and scriptwriters would gnash their teeth at!

"I told you already. First and foremost, if you want to assassinate someone, reel those killing intent first. But you?! You idiot! The darkness won't hide all that bloodlust and killing intent. Besides, you should aim for the neck, the neck you hear me. Though I'll blocked you anyway."

“Julaaaay!!!!” the Grakilis Chief; Grephal, who plunged into the wall, seems to have come out unscathed.

However, when he saw the death of his comrades, especially the one that Cian had just kicked into oblivion, he became extremely enraged that he shot towards Cian like a cannonball let loose.

Is it his son, I wonder?

Looking at him charging, Cian narrowed his eyes and let out a devil’s smile as he too stomps his foot, and his figure shot towards the furious Grakilis.

Clang!

Sparks flew from the friction after the two blades met again.

With the speed of the two people, it wouldn’t take too long for them to arrive at the place where they collide.

The black sword swung down from bottom to top, its surface as blank as ink, as if it was devouring the lights and colors around it while a gleamingly bright golden light covered the battleax that swung down from the top. The body of the Grakilis Chief had already, for who knows when becoming even more massive, almost reaching five meters in height as his muscles bulged as if they were made of rocks.

The monster let out a roar in anger and swung down his battle axe.

Claaaang!!

BOOOOOOM!!

A power that could rival even the upper class of wind-system magic skills mowed down a big tree exceeding 2 meters of diameter due to the impact that was emitted out from the point of collision, blasting away a large group of monsters that were waiting for an opportunity to sneak on Cian.

The enraged monster has already lost any consideration of his surrounding and attack in a wild manner. Even its tribesmen around him had already been a casualty; however, anger clouded their leader’s mind and had already cared less about their well-being. What he wanted was Cian’s head, nothing more.

However, could even something like that be possible?

The charged energies both had released did not offset each other, instead, it condensed where it gathered at the point of collision in both of their magical weapons, and that energy was released in all directions in the next moment. The scattering energy was transformed into a shock wave and spread the destruction out to the surroundings.

That shock, together with the earth-shaking, cleared the ground from a radial center that should be called ground zero. Big trees that were seemed to be several hundred years old, and the gigantic stones that were buried under them, flew over several dozen meters up into the sky and struck the monsters hiding in the bushes and trees for an ambush.

The Manticore saw its Master fighting and seemed to somehow sigh in relief. And then, enduring the shockwave that had ruffled its fur, rather than get hurt by it, the Manticore felt a comforting breeze.

Not because of the shockwave that didn’t touch her skin, but rather, because amidst the powerful shockwave, was the very familiar Master’s aura and magical power that she liked so much. It’s as if she can feel her master stroking her fur and head, giving her energy and absolute power. It was extremely comfortable.

The Manticore; Leona’s intelligence had been increased countless stages as her master bestowed her power that was only a dream before. Even the Grakilis and High-Goblins her master had caught, had their life-force given to her. And although she had not able to obtain other useful skills, nevertheless, Cian's experiment on her caused her to unexpectedly feel that her mind seemed to have become clearer and better than before.

As if several locks had been opened, her mind and body were lighter than before. Then, she saw the monsters that surrounded them with fierce expressions.

And her blissed feelings turned into rage.

She was certainly not feeling too good right now.

This bunch of dead idiots, they are actually separating her from her master?! How dare them!!? How dare they stand between her and her master?! Do they know how grave that crime is?!

She silently glared at the group of monsters that comprised of Grakilis, Beastmen, Lizardmen, and Goblins trying to bravely stand in front of her. They seemed to be an alliance of several tribes around this area. They were talking all high and mighty before. But now look at them?

All they could do was to growl lowly as her glare swept past them, unable to even think about attacking her.

Her body was almost impervious to physical attacks.

Her fangs, claws, and tail could kill them instantly.

How could they still retain their arrogant attitude?

In the first place, normally, these idiots would even hurriedly scamper away from her the moment they saw her.

Her race was one of the top predators in this forest.

Even the monsters under the Serpentine Empress who had ruled this forest dread them. And yet these idiots actually dared to attack her?!

She didn’t really care about the reasons they do so, though. It didn’t matter to her one way or the other – the end result would be the same regardless. Since they dared fight against her master. Then, there is only one thing they deserve—

Death.

…and just like what her master told her before, there’s no compromise!

“Roooooooooaaaarrr!!!!”

Letting out a loud roar, the Manticore pounced on the nearest Lizardman.

Khhhayack!!

Roaring out like a bunch of beasts, the monsters greeted her with their weapons. With her body even more strengthened with magic power, she brushed away the weapons and blades closest to her and penetrated the throat of the nearest enemy with her claws and bit the heads of the others.

She looked like a wolf in a herd of sheep. She didn’t show mercy and slaughter everything in sight. She could sense her claws and fangs digging through flesh and tasted their disgusting blood.

With a swing of her head and claws, she then threw the hapless victim towards its friends, causing a breakdown, like a stack of dominoes and pins in a bowling stand, one body crashed into a group, causing painful cries and fear to echo in the surrounding.

They acted all high and mighty, and yet just like pitiful prey, they were reduced to this pathetic state in an instant.

However, indeed, the Manticore can somehow understand their feelings.

After all, before, she too acted like them.

Thinking they are more superior to others. However, her Master appeared. And she had then understood what it means to be someone far stronger than you!

Indeed, I can understand the helplessness and fear you all are feeling right now.

However, it doesn’t mean I will show mercy.

You must pay the price of the crime you committed.

Trying to kill my Master alone is a crime deserving of death!

The corpse of a Grakilis warrior spun viciously in the air and it collided with the others of its kind, sucking them in a deadly whirlpool of destruction. Fountains of blood came shooting upwards, followed by screams and roars. Leona was tearing the monsters apart, flesh by torn flesh, limb by limb, with her claws and fangs and a poisonous stinger that look like the scythe of death.

What a nostalgic sound that was to her ears.

“ROOOooooooaaaarrrRRR!!!”

Wuuooong!!

Translucent blades of energy leaked out from Leona’s body, then began to form several large arcs around her.

Wooosh.

Wooosh.

These ‘Wind Blades’ danced and wavered in the air like invisible scythes of the Grim Reaper, before shooting out towards their targets. What followed soon afterward was a series of loud explosion and noises of the flesh being cut apart along with the cries of death.

Kwahaaang!!

The grating noise created from the malformed vocal cords of the monsters dug painfully into the ears of those who listened. Then, when the wind blades cut everything on its path, Leona; the Manticore suddenly raised her body and then slammed her two front legs on the ground with deafening, and the earth shook, and countless rock spikes shot upwards.

All around the Manticore were corpses and blood that flows like a red river.

Finally, the remaining monsters that miraculously survive shivered and started retreating from the Manticore. They finally realized that the Manticore before them was an anomaly, an enigmatic monster that shouldn’t have tried to fight against. Only death was the conclusion of such stupidity.

“RRROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!”

One of the Kings of the Forest; Manticore—Leona.

From the moment it was born, it feared nothing.

It was always the apex predator.

If it was hungry, it devoured.

If it got bored, it destroyed.

I am Leona… servant of my Master… I shall use my life to serve him forever, and show you all the power that he had bestowed me!!

Fear me!

Dread me!!

For I am... your DOOOOM!!!
