V2 Chapter 185

Harley nodded her head.

“Well, if Harley decided to be with you, then, I don’t think why would not we… if you decided to protect this tribe, then the Sordan Tribe will be at your behest.”

Cornelia happily said. Totally on agreement with Harley's plan. She even boldly loops her right arm through Cian’s left arm and cuddles against him with her head on his shoulder.

"How about it?"

She naively, or perhaps, intentionally presses her voluptuous breasts against his arm and repositions her head on his shoulder like a little girl. She was acting spoiled, and despite her mature appearance, she looks somewhat adorable in from doing so.

Cian takes immediate notice of her breast against his arm and wonders if she did it innocently or to tease him. He then directs his attention to her, whose breasts were blatantly dangling with hard nipples for him to see and suddenly noticed her breathing becoming more substantial than usual. He uses his peripheral vision to watch her breasts rise and fall.

From what he knows, casual touching promoted erotic thoughts when a woman is in an apparent state of arousal. Cian was somewhat convinced her heavy breathing and erect nipples are ample proof that she is in a state of arousal. As for why he doesn't care.

Still, I thought with the purification of the Holy Land, my appetite would be somewhat reduced, but it seems like it was not even affected the least bit.

Was Aanuel, that lustful demon that strong?

Cian mused inwardly as he felt that familiar feeling begin to spark in his groin. He shook his head, and admonished himself… not now.

Fuck… you can take her in! What are you waiting for? She’s basically giving mixed signals for you to fuck her. What are you waiting for, pussy!

Here we go again… his heart’s demon.

Cian felt annoyed. He thought that Aanuel had been purified as his antics had been lessening these past few days… but this guy…would it not kill him if he shut up for a week or so and give him his desired peace?

“So, what do you say?”

Harley noticed Cian’s prominent bulge on his pants a minute, and let out a mischievous smile. It was quite noticeable, almost to the point that it was leaning against Roma’s head. However, she didn’t say anything and stared at him.

“You mean, you want me to become the chief of this tribe?”

“Obviously,”

“…I can’t…”

Harley was startled.

She didn’t expect that Cian would refuse.

“Why?”

She frowned.

Was she too hasty? Of course, she knows that her tribe could really not offer anything. There are basically no merits on anyone trying to become a leader of this dying clan.

If Cian refused now and leave, then Harley would have no choice but to sell herself to the other tribe…and that’s something she doesn’t want to do. She would choose death, rather than that kind of life.

Cian grinned, placed his hand on her hand, his fingers at each gap of hers, and the interlocked them from the back of her hand. Harley’s eyes widened slightly and wanted to jerk away from surprise, but the hand holding her was quite tight, holding her hand on place.

Cian met her surprise gaze with a sly affectionate one, and gives her a gentle squeeze; “…I would be away, sometimes. I too need to go back, so I cannot be your chief. I can’t be here always…and, let's face the truth. Between you and me, you are most suited to being the tribe chief.”

“I…”

“You don’t need to worry about anything. I will solve all your problems before I leave… In any case, I’m planning to make a place to stay in this land when I visit from time to time. I hope I can do that here,”

“O, of course, you’re always welcome…”

Harley snapped out from her daze and answer, though almost spontaneously. However, this time she appears as though she doesn’t notice anything and turned her eyes away, her face blushing.

Obviously, Cornelia saw Harley’s expression and couldn’t help but snicker in amusement. However, to make Cian stay, if she can’t do it alone, then Harley would need to make a sacrifice anyway.

Still, she pretends she didn’t notice anything unless she wants to embarrass her bosom sister and risk of revealing their scheme. She just minded her own business and savored the addicting scent and warm coming from Cian’s body—now she understands why her daughter seemed to have gotten easily attached to him.

Although, it’s like a traveler who was walking to a desert without water after a week, finally been given a water bottle, and was desperately drinking it, the aura coming from Cian, and his magical power leaking was, for some reason, so wonderful and addicting, especially to an innate magical being like her.

It made her calm and somewhat felt so attached—addicting even.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, as Cian was enjoying the two ripe women’s company, his eyes narrowed and he stood up, startling the women, Harley, Roma whose head fell on the ground causing her to snap awake, and Cornelia. They were about to ask, what happened, when—

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“A visitor at night…”

Cian muttered with a solemn expression.

Harley and Cornelia immediately understand what he meant and both their expressions darkened. Roma was slow, but when a familiar roar suddenly echoed in the entire forest. Her face pale and she subconsciously flew towards him, hugging him and burrowing her face towards his chest.

His face twitched a few times… this lass…

“What should we do?”

Harley turned towards Cian, not realizing that she was becoming reliant on him. Perhaps she already had seen Cian as her pillar of support, or the tribe’s leader.

Cian furrowed his brows, thinking. Then, suddenly noticed that the other people from the two tribes had already gathered around him, looking at him with hope and fear in their eyes.

“Pl, Please help us, Sir Cian…!”

One of the Tribe's Elderly said.

Cian turned towards them and sigh.

“For now, gather together and hide inside your house, Harley…no matter what you hear outside, don’t go out. I’ll settle this alone,”

He said as he patted Roma’s head who was rubbing her cheek at his chest affectionately.

“Cornelia, go with Harley, and don’t return yet on your big tree, I think there should already be ambushes set around your place. It’s better not to go back, for the time being…”

Cornelia nodded her head in understanding.

“Are you going to be fine, alone?” she asked.

“… Even if a wyvern appeared, I’ll make it into a stew,”

Cian snorted in contempt.

Although his tone seemed as if he was joking but his eyes said otherwise.

Harley and Cornelia were quite surprised.

From Cian’s expression, a wyvern seemed nothing at all.

Was he that strong…?

Cian didn’t explain anything and just nodded at them.

“Go, lassy, I have some work to do,”

Cian patted Roma’s head and push her away from him.

“A, are you going to be alright? Really?”

Roma asked with an anxious face.

Cian patted her head, “The one who can kill me, has not been born yet…perhaps, never will be,”

While saying that, he turns around and walks away from them.

“Leona, stay with them, and don’t let anything near them... do you understand?”

“Rooooaaarr!!”

Leona roared in response and turn around, walking towards Harley and the others.

Cian smiled, then, his expression turned grim.

“…I’ve become too soft. I fear I wouldn’t be able to keep my character intact anymore. But now that you’ve come, let me dye myself with blood again—after all, I prefer myself to be covered in blood than be a goody-two-shoes philanthropist…”

The moment he said that suddenly dark mist came out from his body and started spreading like a black fog.

“Now then, let me enjoy myself…”

Then, he disappeared…

… …

“It’s too dark. Seems like it’s not a good time to take a stroll right now,”

Cian, covered by darkness stood at the top of the largest tree in the area.

It was the home of the Harpies and surveyed the surrounding with a faint smile.

As expected, the Grakilis had surrounded the area over ten minutes later. However, they are smart enough not to immediately go for an attack.

Nevertheless, to think that there was also a secret compartment inside the big tree…

With his [Night’s Eye] he can see several Harpies inside the Varkas Tree and one of them was even lying on a nest, heavily injured with a wing broken and seemingly within the boundary of life and death. She seemed an important existence for the tribe due to the fact that she was being taken care of properly, with her life-force being nourished by the tree to keep her alive.

But even with that, Cian was somehow in doubt if she would actually survive. Her inner organs were a mess, and several of her bones broken. And even if Cian gave this Harpy a Grade 3 Healing Potion, he could save her life but the missing limbs would be gone forever, such as her wings.

Well, I’ll ask Cornelia about her later… but it would be bad if the Grakilis would make a mess on the tree.

As they finished moving into formation, each of the Grakilis took one of their two crossbows in hand, erased their presence while activating camouflage, and hide. In case, you didn’t know of their presence in advance, they’d be pretty difficult to spot even if you got very close to them.

Amazing…

Their hiding skills and concealment are every advanced.

These Grakilis are like chameleons, natural-born assassins.

Unfortunately, their fates are already black since they came unto me.

Having arranged their stance up to this point, there was a high chance of silencing their targets without being discovered using a surprise attack with their crossbows. Since they each had two crossbows, they could fire them in succession where after they would enter close combat.

An intriguing strategy—it’s hard to believe it came from monsters.

Am I underestimating the monsters in this world too much…?

Cian reflects on this.

Still, it seems like their information system is not that good, or perhaps almost non-existent.

Since they came here brazenly, they shouldn’t have known about me.

Cian closed his eyes and enhanced his senses, his fox ears twitching as he listened on their hushed conversations.

Where they angry that their hunting party didn’t return, hence they decided this ambushing plan…?

From what he had heard from their conversation, the Grakilis felt angry about the hunting party not returning. The Grakilis chief seemed to have concluded that it was the harpies and the bearmen’s fault, hence, he wanted to teach them a lesson, by attacking them and annihilating them tonight.

Although the Grakilis Chief had a harassing them and waiting for their surrender, as he wanted to savor their fear and anxiety from their situation, now he wanted to end this once and for all.

What an idiotic and detestable fellow, isn’t he?

Cian never likes someone eyeing his possession.

This idiot must be dismembered!

... ...

There was a commotion; apparently they were surprised that there was not a soul in the vicinity.

… oh? Are they going to leave?

Is what he thought. But it seems like he overestimated the intelligence of the monsters, as instead of being wary by the sudden disappearance of their targets, they actually still didn’t, instead, they even changed their plans and charged towards the Beastmen village, full of courage and foolish bravery.

Cian could only sigh in helplessness.

They might be quite skillful, however, their intelligence is worrying.

"Now then, I guess it's time..."

Seeing them creeping towards the village where a bonfire was still burning, Cian decided to make his move.

Still covered by darkness, while using his Dark Magic; [Concealment of the Shadow], and then combined with [Stealth] and newly obtained ability [Silent Step], which complements the ability beyond his expectation, Cian walked over the closest Grakilis without anyone noticing.

A bone, sharp spike came out from each of his palms using [Stinger Creation] and without any noises, stabbed the Grakilis head, causing blood to spurt out from the bursting head that looks like a squashed tomato. Then, with a silent rotation, he shot out stingers from his open palms, shooting towards the nearby Grakilis who had yet to notice anything and was crawling on the ground.

A silent 'Thud!' rang out, and a long bone-like stake pierced the Grakilis head, killing it instantly.

Cian then jumped back into shadows and once again disappeared.

Not even a single soul seemed to have noticed what just happened.

It all happened in an instant.

The moment the Grakilis felt something wrong, including the one he had assassinated, Cian had already managed to kill another seven others by piercing their heads with the bone stingers. When they found their companions already dead and dismembered, their expressions immediately turned into fear.

But even if they notice what was going on, what can it change?

The Monsters desperately tried to locate Cian’s location, but the latter was already gone before they knew it.

He was like a ghost that appeared and disappeared in the darkness, reaping their lives one by one.

With the dark night as cover, Cian was like a predator eyeing his prey.

“…Blood for Night…exhilarating~”

His lips curved into a menacing grin.

… …
