V2 Chapter 114

“Dark red smoke obscures the sun. The wind blows chilling cold and the stench of blood spread throughout the entire area! The land is locked in darkness, even the birds have stopped singing!”

Adam Taylor stood on the nearby rocks and muttered to himself, his expression extremely solemn.

He has blond hair and green eyes. He was a handsome young man with a gentle demeanor, befitting that of the Hero Title. However, right now, his brows somewhat furrowed and his handsome face darkened by shadows.

In this past year, he and his comrades; his fellow classmates had grown tremendously, becoming strong one by one. And after many trials and training, they were now standing in the front line of the battlefield, taking on the world. This past month of fighting here, Adam Taylor can see his world shaken up all the time. Even though he had his fair share of death and kills, standing in this gruesome battlefield still make his stomach churn, and his desire to return home intensifies.

Abby said was right—this fight is not theirs to have, and yet here they are, doing everything to the point of slowly losing their humanity.

But what can he do?

They cannot throw down their weapons and turn their backs on it.

They cannot go home… home seems already an impossibility.

If they cowered here and now, they would lose everything, even the hope of returning home!

... And so, they don’t have any choice but to fight!

Gritting his teeth, Adam Tayor was standing in front of thousands of warriors and soldiers along with his classmates. Though, not all of them as they were divided into three groups, sent towards the North, South, and Central. There were also those who refused to fight, scared and didn’t want to leave the Holy light Empire, working as adventurers and guards in the Kingdom of Walie.

In truth, even with the Empier’s Army, Adam Taylor still felt uneasy.

There was a disturbing feeling that made him shiver.

The army was organized in regiments of ten- and fifteen thousand members.

On the battlefield, the Human Army regiments spread without end.

You couldn’t even see them all.

There were more human than there were trees on a mountain.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

And then, the accursed Demon race, their hated enemies finally came.

*RUMBLE!*

The ground shook so much that the human, elves, dwarves and beast-men Soldiers couldn’t stand properly anymore, while the dark red smoke grew thicker in the air, spreading throughout the battlefield.

Any normal human being could not help but shrink in fear.

The mountains were literally crawling with monsters.

They rode beside the ridge, the line of defense guarded by the other groups of warriors and beast-men, even including elves along the bottom to the top of the walls.

The small tribe of dwarves from the village in the central forest gathered beside the army. The priests of the God of Creation, as well as all the high ranking Templar knights of all other holy churches, even the Soldiers of Kingdom of Walie and the Holylight Empire’s Elite Knights, had all gathered in one place.

And yet, even with this force, Adam Taylor still can’t help but feel anxious for the impending war. Although they can be reborn after getting killed, it would still take a long time to regain back their strength and powers again. And during that time, they are vulnerable. They are of no use for the war, and the momentum of the Demon Race would not be stopped.

Adam Taylor looked at his comrades; Abby Williams and his companions, and spoke.

“The Demon Race is finally here. We won’t find peace before we grant all these damn demons an eternal rest. If we are unable to put the demons to rest, we will be slaves for eternity.”

Over six months of keeping silent—now the Demon Army once again made their appearance.

Finally, it began.

“We need to fight and do our best to repel them…!”

Adam Taylor roared, raising the morale of the army.

From within the forest that was infamously known as the Land of the Dead; Skeletons, Ghouls, Ogres, Goblins, Orcs, and many more hideous monsters suddenly emerged. The Demon Army continuously appeared, forming a line.

*RATTLE RATTLE*

*BANG BANG BANG*

*OOOOOOHHHHHHHH*

The clashing sound of the skeleton joint, the screams and roars of monsters and the rattling sound of ogres and giants reverberated throughout the entire region, while smoldering blue and red smokes appeared from the ghouls and zombies bodies.

Although considered weak monsters, zombies are an extremely troublesome opponent. They didn’t infect people they bit into becoming a zombie, just like those seen in movies but instead, they release a lethal poison that would kill a human in minutes unless an antidote was administered. It’s called a Corpse Toxin and can corrode not only the life of the victim but also their bodies, into a rotting puss,

*Stomp, stomp, stomp!*

The ghoul and undead generals shriek in excitement like a starving man finally found food, the giants, and the ogres leading the demon horde were more than ten meters and five meters tall respectively.

Ghouls had sharp nails and teeth with far superior physical abilities than the average undead skeleton—and they are carnivorous.

“Yes... I can smell living flesh and blood nearby!”

“Food!! There’s food!!”

“Killl! I want to see blood!”

“Gyak gyak gyak! I want to kill!!”

“We will turn all of you into undead like us.”

“Let’s be friends.”

“Happy welcome!”

Unpleasant voices…

Adam Taylor gnashed his teeth in fury.

But as expected of the Demon Army, under the leadership of the infamous Prince of Darkness, the Demon Army started to move without any sign of a disorder.

The infamous prince of the Demon Empire. Adam Taylor had met him before and although they had lost and died, they also managed to repel him—however; he was truly strong—so powerful even with their cheat, it seemed like impossible to win against him.

But that time, he was still weak and unlearned—right now; he would be the one to win.

Adam Taylor clenched his fist as his confidence roared inside of him.
