Chapter 36
“Master, are you going…?” Behind Cian, suddenly a soft voice rang out. Without looking back, Cian knows who it comes from.
“Never thought you have such skills as well, Ruka,”
Ruka stood behind Cian and smiled bashfully, “Well, the master might not know it but aside from the Demon Blood within me, I came from the lineage of the Cait Sith. We prided ourselves in our speed and agility—though we are better at espionage than fighting though so I can’t protect master…” Her voice turned faint and sorrowful, her head lying low.
“You don’t need to do that,”
“Yes…?”
“I can protect myself… what you need to do is only attend in my needs and do what I want you to do. Protecting me isn’t your duty… saying that will only make you arrogant…” Cian glanced at Ruka who was staring at him with a surprised expression, “Stay by my side… that’s your raison d'être. As long as I didn’t tell you to die, you won’t die even if you are killed…you will always return to my side, and keep on obeying my wills—other than that is not of your concern! Understand?”
“Mas, ter…”
“Do you understand, Ruka?!”
“Yes!” Ruka nodded happily. Tears fell out of her eyes, but they are not tears of sorrow or agony—but tears of joy!
Being acknowledged and treasured despite any flaws by her master was something she would never imagine in the past. It was her happiness and joy to hear those words that seemed like an oath of love, especially if the one who had done it was the one she loved the most!
“Anyway… the time has come… judgment must be served…” Cian’s eyes closed.
He took a deep breath and then, his lips opened as if murmuring a poem, “… To everyone who went against us, we will bare our fangs and retaliate.
To everyone who lends their hands to us, we will grant them our blessing.
To our opponents, we will do to them what they have done to us…
Bearing the name of the Caloh Clan, holding the title of the Reaper, the sixty-sixth generation of Blood Servant, I will make sure the blood will taint the world…!”
“So bless me…God!” Muttering the sacred creed of the family, Cian’s body felt an unknown power surging through his blood.
Crack!
After those words were spoken, Cian’s atmosphere turned extremely solemn. Although he had expected as much but the blessing from the God to his family was still really active even in this world.
Just what kind of God does his family believe in?

Pufaros was extremely proud of himself. He had already gotten tipsy after too many glasses of drinks, and now he felt like he a powerful person.
A noble with a terrifying background like him would be able to do whatever his heart pleased, right?
“Huh?”
Suddenly, just as he was glorifying himself, his vainly spinning thoughts cut off.
Something was not right. An unknown panic surged through Pufaros as he turned his eyes around. It was still quite early—besides unlike the human world, the Demon World is a world that never sleeps! There are even more people outside their houses compared to the day!

And yet, a horrible silence had fallen over the area like that of a forest’s at night. A strange, out-of-place sensation hung over the area.
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen anyone since we were walking together…
With a puzzled look, Pufaros walked further along. A sense of unease crept within him.
“Is something wrong, milord?” one of his goons asked, doubtfully.
“Don’t you feel anything?!” Pufaros asked in anger.
“Well, feel…what?”
“There are no people here, idiot!!”
The goons glanced at each other, bewildered. “But my lord, this is the Howard’s Alley…! Lack of people here is usual…!”
“What?!” Pufaros exclaimed in shock. Howard’s Alley?! Ho, how… did… “How is that possible?! Why are we at Howard’s Alley?! Aren’t we going towards the Red District?!”
“But… but, milord was the one who was walking towards here… though, mid-way we indeed feel somewhat confused as to why Milord chooses to come here. Howard’s Alley is a forbidden road which was the boundary of the Vampire Lord’s territory. Does my lord perhaps have business with the Vampire Lord…?” One of the goons asked worriedly.
One must know the Vampire Lord despised those who enter her territory without any permission. The current Vampire Lord has a very eccentric character compared to its predecessors. The Vampire Lord despised associating with other people, other than Her Majesty, the Vampire Lord kept her appearance at bay.
And when he came to a major road with three lanes in each direction, the out-of-place feeling shifted to a full-blown sense of things being blatantly wrong.
There was no one there.
Oh, crap…!?
Facing this unnatural scene without people, Pufaros felt a sense of ominous danger. He immediately decided to tell his group that the situation now was extremely dangerous.
But he couldn’t do it.
Because he didn’t even have time to do it.
“—You should have chosen a better master,”
He heard a voice.
From in front of them, coming from the silhouette of a person within the darkness shaped by the blue illumination, a young man’s gorgeous voice could be heard.
“—There were many paths in front of you that you could have chosen.”
They heard footsteps.
But these footsteps didn’t sound human. Every time the person took a step, *PAM...!!* the ground below seemed to slightly tremored. One thing about the oppressive weight was that it could also be considered as a countdown to death. The blue darkness slowly let out sounds of strange footsteps, as if telling the opponent his unwillingness.
The group was dumbstruck by this sudden situation, revealing an expression that lacked tension, but…Pufaros immediately reacted. What is this…cold sensation…?
“...touching a royalty is a grave sin of itself. But the biggest problem is that… you just have to touch, someone like me…”
But the voice became a mocking one.
“—But really, don’t you have any better options?”
The darkness scattered away.
Anyway, the only light source was the dim street light, and thus it was not something that could chase away the strong light of the night sky. But even though the young man was slowly approaching from within the darkness far away, just like this, it felt like the darkness was avoiding the youth.
A white mask and a black tuxedo. It looked human, but Pufaros other senses felt an ominous and overwhelming negative aura from it. He could tell by just confronting it. It was a devil with a considerable power.
“You’re…”
It was not an unfamiliar face. Looking at that noticeably ashey gray hair, even idiots would surely recognize him.
“… you, you’re highness…” Pufaros sweated bullets. “I, it’s my pleasure me, meeting you here. Ho, how may I help you?” Damn it! Pufaros was screaming inwardly. What is he doing here? I had heard that he really survived but there should nothing that would point at me relating to ‘that’incident!
Damn it! Damn it! What’s happening here?!
“Ha ha ha, I came to punish a bad kid…” A playful voice responded.
“P, punish…?!”
“Ah,” The masked youth nodded his head as if he was agreeing. “You see… my principle has always been one. Eye for an Eye, Tooth for a Tooth—a Blood debt, must be paid with Blood…”
“Wha, what does his highness means by that…?!” Thump! Thump! Pufaros heart beats wildly as if was a drum being beaten.
“Pufaros…” *Step, the masked youth slowly walked forward. “You don’t need to pretend anymore. I know already, I really… after all, you know I came here with a purpose, and that’s to eradicate the mastermind behind all the unrest in the Capital. To lessen my mother’s heartache, especially in this time of war, as a good son it was my duty to do so. Don't you think as well? Useless maggots crawl around, although one can just overlook them, but you know… one needs to periodically clean them if not cancer would surely develop…”
“… …”
“Don’t you agree with me…?” An ice-cold voice asked Pufaros. The latter felt the hair behind his neck stood up.
And you dare to say it, Pufaros silently cursed. In this City, 10 out of 10 people would surely answer who the most useless and worthless evildoer in this empire was without any hesitation. And you actually say that you are going to eradicate the mastermind behind all the unrest…?
Why don’t you look yourself in the mirror…?!
Pufaros gritted his teeth and his pig like face distorted as he started sensing the entire area if they were people around hiding. However, as expected, there’s no one…!
He’s alone…?!
Ha ha ha ha, this idiot…! Did he think he can act tough just because he was a prince?!
