V2 Chapter 69
Sibylla’s senses were clear.
She felt each of Cian’s lips’ gentle movements and she also felt her lips trembled on his lips. She closed her eyes. She felt his throat swallow her taste and she heard his soothing heartbeats. She felt like she had no control over her arms that wrapped around his waist and pulled his body closer to her.
She felt his breath became hotter and his tongue intruded inside her mouth.
She only heard Cian’s heart beats clearly. She couldn’t control the way her body reacted to Cian’s body. She felt his hand on her waist, his gentle kisses and the way his body burned hers. Sibylla wanted to push Cian away from her, but she didn’t expect her body wanted to be closer to him instead and it wanted to be enclosed by his flames. Her hands gripped the back of his shirt and she didn’t feel satisfied enough. She secretly pulled his shirt up and she pressed her hands on his back skin.
Cian’s body stiffened the moment he felt Sibylla’s hands on his back skin. He gripped his fiancée's waist and he kissed her deeper.
At first Sibylla’s hands gently rubbed Cian’s back skin, but later she didn’t know why her hands gripped his back skin.
Suddenly, at this heated moment—“Uuugh!!” a groan poured like cold water on them and Sibylla jumped from Cian’s lap in shame.
When she turned her head towards the source, she saw the human knight Ezra Redhawk groaning and fidgeting within the flower bud. Her face turned red. She then glared at Cian who was now smiling bitterly—it’s almost there…! Damn it! Not once but twice, this lass sure knows how to destroy a moment…!
She really deserves to be alone for her human years up until now~
“I, I’m going out for a moment… y, you can just call me if you need anything…” With a flushed expression, Sibylla turned around and left, like little red riding hood in front of the big bad wolf.
Cian can only watch her running away with a wry smile.
Oh well, sooner or later…not like she can run away forever…
… …
Ezra didn’t remember anything before she lost her consciousness. Something must have happened, or just that she was too exhausted to do much for herself.
I think I must have drifted into unconsciousness. But it was such a pleasant sensation that she had longed for it to continue forever. For it seemed to her, in her half-dreaming state that a certain someone was bending over her, his hands gently smoothing back her sodden hair and in a voice low and tender, such as she had never heard him use before—not even to his sticky servant that was always with him—he was calling her his little love, murmuring soft endearments so that it seemed she was high on a rapturous cloud of bliss.
But I’m not little you know…! In fact, I’m quite tall…! And my name is not love!! Ezra heard herself saying with an air of extremely reasonableness.
Then, she opened her eyes and found herself staring at a certain someone’s face. With a sob of disappointment, she realized that her dream had come to an end. Her rapturous cloud was bumping unpleasantly on the terra firma of reality, for the man that had pierced her heart and made her feel the world was a wonderful place for the very first time, was no longer closer to hers; he had straightened as he saw Ezra return to consciousness and the glance he was giving her was anything but lover-like—though, there is still that playful smile on his face.
“…still alive?” He asked with a mischievous grin. Ezra, at this moment, felt extremely foolish as she remembered her remark about not being little, but he made no reference to it and she hopes against hope that he hadn’t heard her.
“Did you think you are a cat? Having nine lives? If you sense danger, then you should have bailed out as immediately as possible! You can only live one life… stupid,” he demanded gruffly. “Even a rat is much more intelligent than you!”
“Aanuel!!” Ezra shot upright as memory returned to her. She looks at Cian and suddenly throws herself at him, even the latter was shocked. “What?! Are you okay?! Any wounds? Any injuries?!” while saying so, her eyes were red and teary.
She inspected every part of his body, arms, and chest, waist—looking at her so anxious makes Cian felt amused. It seems like the time he had wasted was not used to feed the dog…
However, as Ezra was getting frantic in worry, Cian sigh and pushed her back none too gently. “Take it easy, I’m fine… and we’re now safe…at least for now. Anyway, it’s not something you need to worry. Just rest for a while, you need it.”
“Oh…” Hearing Cian’s words, Ezra finally heaves a sigh of relief. She lay back on the bed and closed her eyes. She didn’t doubt Cian’s words the least bit—if it was before she would surely cast a doubtful expression, but now she hasn’t realized it herself but she had already trusted Cian completely. “How long was I out?” she asked.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
"Not so long." Cian shrugs and continued. "You've slept for about three days. This is a normal duration since you were severely wounded. Of course, you would still recover if you didn't take this long sleep. But in that case, you would feel extremely tired and uncomfortable during the recovery process. And so, I take a long way out."
Ezra was slightly surprised. "Do you mean I've slept for three days in a row?"
"Yes. If Sibylla didn't stop the Symbiosis of Life, you would've slept for longer." Cian smiled. "Your body woke you up. After you get up, you'll feel hungry soon."
"Oh, yes, Miss Sibylla. I have to go to thank her." Ezra wanted to get up, but Cian gently pressed her down in her bed again. Although she was quite confused but she knows that Sibylla was Cian’s most beloved and probably…a rival.
Though, she knows that she would not be able to compete for her position but… that’s not really a problem, right?
As she was contemplating about this kind of thing suddenly, Cian’s eyes narrowed dangerously and, "Hey!" A muffled sound came from Ezra’s forehead. Cian’s fingers, in a flicking position, suspended just in front of her. When Ezra stared at Cian, she saw his expression turned serious and seemed to be extremely angry.
“Do you know why I’m angry…?” Cian gnashed his teeth.
“… …” Ezra made a painful face.
"You know that you are not their opponent, and yet why do you want to fight? Can't you run? ”
Cian said seriously. It’s not a shame to be beaten and be defeated—in fact, it’s the most normal thing in the world of a battle of survival. No one knows what will happen in the future, change is the only constant and so, as long as one survived the day, they can still struggle to stand up and might be able to turn the world upside down the next moment. Even if you lose, it is not the end as long as you’re alive that is…!
Only stupid and idiot people would choose death to uphold their pride, dying in the end…!
Although Cian admired knights and their chivalrous hearts, this also the same reason why he abhorred them.
In his eyes, such a decision is a foolish action…!
Even a monkey is much more intelligent than these chivalrous knights and pride-over-death people…!
Ezra felt wronged. She was still a knight and ever since she was a child she had been hammered with the ways of the knight. And so, even though she has something she wanted to say to retort Cian’s words, but after seeing the complicated expression within his gaze, Ezra felt sweet and happy and her words were stuck in her throat.
She suddenly felt shy…
If the original Ezra saw the current her at this moment, she would surely vomit blood in remorse—just what had happened to me?
Why am I acting like a teenager in puberty…?
Where did my knightly aura manner take a vacation?
"Aanuel."
She gently called out his name in an impassioned manner.
She had never imagined that there would be a day she would fall head over heels for a particular boy, much less a Demon. A prince of a mortal enemy at that. Even though she realized how incorrigible her infatuation was, she willingly gave up her reason and chose to immerse herself within it.
The her from yesterday would definitely mock the present her.
But the present her only felt sweetness in her heart.
He protected her at the cost of almost his life.
No one had done that for her in her entire life, and even if there was in the future, it would be surely overshadowed by this one moment as she didn’t want to let go of this emotions.
The reason why she could open her eyes again and still remain alive was all because he had given his all to protect her.
Isn’t that all more important…?
It would definitely not be overstepping any boundaries to imagine what painful but touching stories had happened while she was unconscious.
And just a tiny bit of imagination would cause her sweet thoughts to completely drown the terrifying guesses.
Even though she realized that she was in an ocean of sugary-sweetness, or that her life might be devoured by that sweetness at any time...
Even though she was being naive and silly...
She would still choose to believe him, love him in a manner that she could not extricate herself from and passionately call out his name.
"Aanuel..."
She believed in him.
She loves this demon of hers…!
Ezra stared at Cian, who was looking at her. Cian sigh and said with a faint smile. "Oh well, I’ll forget about this, this time. But next time, if you do something foolish like this, I won’t save you again, remember that,” he muttered, giving a grave warning. “…Anyway, don't rush. Take your time to deal with these things,"
“A, Aanuel… “
“Hm?”
“Do you love me?”
“… …” Cian’s eyes widened in shock from the sudden blast of bluntness. But he didn’t say anything and just said, “Take a guess,”
“… …” Ezra smiled bitterly. Well, not like she had not expected this, still she felt a bit of a loss and disappointment.
However, when she was about to say something, Cian suddenly stood up and leaned over, and before she knew it moist smooth lips touched hers, causing her eyes to shot open. “Don’t think too much, and sleep. Your physical injuries might have been healed but your energy is less, it’s not healthy.”
Ezra’s face flushed beet red. She nodded her head like a shy girl, averting her eyes from Cian’s heated gaze.
Cian chuckled, and stroke her hair for a moment and started walking away.
Ezra stared at Cian ‘s retreating back and felt a kind of sweetness that was indescribable bubbling inside her heart, causing for a wildness that had never occurred before, as if thousands of deer are trampling her little heart.
