V2 Chapter 47
Cian rested for a while, lying on the bed.
The energy spent integrating the [Abyssal Hawk Wings] was too much, he felt like a spent force. After a while of resting, he resumed working again on the Chimaera’s corpse. The black bracelet on his hand wriggled, turning into a black blade that gleamed in the light. “Now then, let’s find its heart…” The sword blade was swung after his voice sounded. It cut with a couple of light arcs and swiftly left behind over a dozen deep sword scars.
Thin wire-like sword scars slowly curled before swiftly expanding. A couple of blinks later, they split apart like a slit. The corpse of the Chimaera appeared to have been split into multiple pieces as it collapsed. Dense, white flesh was revealed. This large fellow was disemboweled by Cian in an instant. Normal blades would never be able to do it, and even magic weapons wouldn’t cut it so easily. A high-level Chimaera has a defense that can even withstand a nuclear explosion without a problem, much less magical blades and magic wouldn’t be able to pierce its defense—however, this where [Imagis Realis] shine. It was not famed as a Demon King’s favorite weapon for a show.
Although its usefulness only relies on its ability to shapeshift to any kind of weapon that the user desired with just a thought, unlike other magical weapons who possess various magical abilities, but it was still able to defend its status because of one only feature—it can cut through anything in this world with much ease!
Simple but more deadly and precious than any other weapon in the world…!
There was even an anecdote in the History of successive Demon Kings that stand upon any other Demon Kings—
[With this sword, there is no existence I cannot cut!]
Arrogant but true to its words—
Even a Dragon would be cut so easily and no barrier or defense could stop its blade…!
The 3rd rank among the twelve considered Beasts of the Demon Imperial Treasures. Although it has no flashy absurdity that any other weapons within the Twelve Beasts have, it was still above the other Beasts due to its ability to cut through anything. This is what makes it dangerous and deadly than any other weapons among the Twelve Beasts...!
“Uug?!” Cian frowned as a thick, sour stench seeped out after this dried corpse was opened by him. He then clicked his tongue and marveled the sight after the sour stench completely scattered. He carefully stood beside that monster corpse that was cut open. His gaze swept over it before disappointment appeared in his eyes. One could see that the interior of this corpse was only filled with dense, white flesh. Not even a small piece of bone remained, much less any internal organs.
He then pried it open, and when he had reached the chest part, as expected, there it is—the Heart of the Chimaera. It was dried like a raisin, black as obsidian and there is no life emitting from it. If one knows nothing about it, they would just treat it as waste and throw it away, after all, only the white flesh can be of use. When touched, it was even hard as stone. But they would never know that this is the most important part of the monster body. Even though all the internal organs and even bones have been corroded by the acid left within the body, the heart was still complete and was only left like this…
Truly a treasure…!
Cian extended his hand, intending to pick the heart up, however, the acid within the body suddenly drop on his skin and Cian couldn’t help but wince in pain. He immediately pulled his hand and saw a hole on the back of his hand, still dripping in blood. It’s as if a bullet passed through his hand. Cian’s expression distorted in pain. Fortunately, his body was that of a Demon’s Body, and a royalty at that, and the wound started to slowly close up—but judging from the speed, it would take an hour or two for it to completely heal up due to the corrosion of the Acid. Frowning as he endured the pain, he took out a red colored potion on his Interspatial Ring and immediately drunk it. Instantly, the wound on his hand emitted smoke and started recovering in rapid speed.
“This damn…!” Cian gnashed his teeth in anger. However, the heart was submerged in the pool of Acid, but who would’ve known that this Acid can be this deadly—I guess I need to flip it over and spill out all the Acid first. But my floor would surely suffer… Cian sigh. However, as if he was about to flip the corpse upside down, [Imagis Realis] on his hand suddenly wiggled and covered his arm like a gauntlet. “What?” Cian was startled. He didn’t do anything on it though—wait, does it want me to pick up the heart using it?
Although he knows about this before, and in fact, he had heard about it ever since he had gotten it but—“So this is what they meant when they said the Sword has consciousness…huh,” so it can really think by itself…?
Well, ain't that wonderful...
“Oh well, this is better… if [Imagis Realis] can tolerate the acid’s corrosion, then that’s better, after all, I want the Acid. It might be useful in the future~” Cian smiled faintly as he plunged his hand once again in the pool of acid. Smoke emitted from the black gauntlet it was really able to endure it. And with a pull, Cian managed to extract the Chimaera’s heart successfully.
“… …” However, Cian didn’t want to eat it raw. In any case, as long as the heart is consumed, it will still be in effect. And thus, Cian stored the heart and decided to eat the next day…after cooking it, of course…!
As for the rest of the corpse, Cian dealt with it carefully as to not waste anything. With [Night’s Eye] he was able to know which is important, valuable, or useless...including the pool of acid. Plop! After dealing with its large corpse, Cian was beyond exhausted. He lies on the bed and let his body submerge on the softness of the mattress. However, his mind and heart were light and full of excitement. Everything is starting to show progress…his personal power and even with his plan of building a hidden force. As long as he didn’t become careless and make a single mistake, he would be able to advance without worries.
The others wouldn’t make a move. Cian's eyes narrowed. His mind recalls the figure of his classmates and...friends. They wouldn’t be dispatched without proper training. And no matter how cheaty they have become, they are still human after all. They are not novel protagonists and they wouldn’t be able to function well in war if treated mindlessly—then, I still have time. Cian bit his lips. Surely, those group would be the center stone of the war the moment they take up the stage. Everything would revolve around them...!
But it doesn't mean...he would lose...!
Whether they become my enemies or not... I wouldn't sure mercy...! If ever you stand in my way...! Cian growled as he stared through the dark sky on his window. There's still some time...
Enough time to make everything in motion.
…I might not be able to stand in the light…but being a power in the shadow doesn’t seem so bad…
Cian's pair of beautiful mismatched eyes gleamed in the dark.

Let the game begins…Night…
The orchestra is rearing to go…!
Cian’s lips curled into a grin.
… …
It’s been a few weeks since that night. Cian’s life within the Northern Border was…unexpectedly uneventful to say the least…if, not for some tiring matters disrupting his peaceful life, which he unexpectedly has no idea on how to resolve...it would have been better...
He trains in the morning with Oriel’s supervision, although he didn’t like it but he has no choice in the matter as the one who has the say in this place was none other than her. And furthermore, Oriel’s stubbornness in making him train his body as well as combat skills was as steely as a meter thick iron plate, startling and even causing Cian to feel terrified. She was now almost present every morning to watch him and supervise his training menu. Although before he was having it easy, since Oriel didn’t find any reason for it nor threat for his life within the Border which was her personal domain—but the happenings at that night with his battle against the Bloodhole Gang seemed to have triggered something within Oriel, causing him to erupt a strange sense of unease.
Something is happening in the world—and the usual peacefulness of the Northern Border was disturbed causing her to have a headache. And all of this was [Killer]’s fault…! Fortunately, in that night, because of Walhal, the Bloodhole Gang’s Leader’s ultimate skill, [Blood Tyrant] there were no people, not even a hint of a shadow around the Bloodhole Gang’s territory, at the end of the battle, causing for no one to know the real result of the fight. And such, it was easy to declare that the Bloodhole Gang leader won the fight--a barely victory and managed to chase away the attacker—in which was acclaimed to be possessing a name known as [Killer]. With this, the Bloodhole Gang was able to retain its power and standing within the Demon Border, though with the loss of one leader who heroically sacrificed himself to protect the Gang’s existence and honor—may his name be known for eternity…!
Oriel investigated the matter seriously and even went to see the Bloodhole Gang personally to hear the real story and judge the case at hand. As expected of the Bloodhole Gang’s leader though, as well as the woman named Palaer, which Cian can’t help but give a praise—sadly he couldn’t give a Like, weaving a story that was almost Hollywood level. Although, they had just based it on Cian’s story but for them to act and give accounts that cause anyone to hear it unable to question it, was praiseworthy enough.
[Killer of Eden] that was the name of the man who attacked the Bloodhole Gang. The man known as [Killer] seemed to be affiliated by an organization called [Eden]. According to how the story goes, at that night, Bloodhole Gang has possessed a very precious treasure that caught the attention of an unknown organization and [Killer] was sent by them to recover it. Walhal and Palaer were extremely reluctant to say what kind of treasure it is, if not for Princess Oriel’s threats and fury(?), they would never reveal it—[Andvaranaut].
[Andvaranaut] was a magical ring that can make gold (Courtesy of Cian from Earth’s World of Myths 1st Edition). Walhal found it accidentally when he was exploring the Winter Mountain. As for how the enemy managed to learn it, they found out that before that night the second leader; Arasol’s stupid son spoke about it accidentally when he was drunk. This led to his assassination by the same person… the second leader was furious about it and desired revenge, leading to losing his own life after fighting courageously against [Killer]. However, [Killer] was not killed and instead got the ring successfully before leaving…!
The third in command of the Gang; Palaer was furious and immediately asked Princess Oriel for a City lockdown and find this detestable thief and recover their treasure. And also, uncover what this [Eden] truly is! To have the gall to cause such a commotion, attacking a large influential Gang within the City is a large crime that deserved to be sent into the gallows!
Oriel frowned and felt something amiss but just couldn’t understand what it was. Even if she managed to guess that the Bloodhole Gang now is working under the one who had attacked them, she would be unable to believe that they would just act as nothing had really happened, and even able to cook up such a concise and believable story. [Andvaranaut] what kind of unbelievable item is this? For it to be able to make gold…
If someone heard about it, even she would not be able to help herself but covet such a thing…!
It’s not hard to think why someone would covet such treasure. And also, judging from the background story, appearance and abilities they spoke of, this ring doesn’t seem to be a lie. Owned and created by a wealthy dwarf…huh. Indeed, epic and legendary treasures are mostly created by Dwarves. Their heaven-defying abilities to create things is even recorded since the birth of the world and even sang by many Minstrels and Bards.
But [Eden] just what kind of organization is this?
Why have they not heard of it before…?
Oriel investigated even deeper and carefully. However, due to lack of witness at the end of the battle, no one could properly give accounts as to what has happened then and so the case went nowhere. Oriel has no choice but to lean on the Bloodhole Gang’s story. Although, she felt that something was wrong and that the Bloodhole Gang seemed to be hiding something, but she doesn’t know where to start and could only leave it as it is. Even if the Bloodhole Gang suffered this terribly, within the Okmahun Demon City, they are still a Mammoth and can’t easily be touched without scraping some flesh. And for Oriel, it doesn’t worth it…!
She can only brace herself and prepare for the worst outcome.
—however, due to the sudden headache about this [Killer] and [Eden], Cian had to be the one to suffer. Oriel managed the City even stricter and the [Killer] was given an astonishing amount of bounty as well as all the information related to [Eden] was given utmost importance. On the other side, due to Oriel’s worries on the sudden appearance of these people, her concern about Cian’s safety skyrocketed. And thus, Cian had to suffer every morning for training…!
She had brought him here because she knows that he would be safe and sound in her domain compared to when he would stay in the chaotic Capital. However, the sudden appearance of this [Eden] disrupted that notion and this angers her truly. But since there was no information about it, she could only make him becomes stronger… by strict training. To this, Cian can only say—‘You reap what you sow’ and sigh. However, it’s not like there was only a downside to this occurrence. In fact, he even made use of this development to his own advantage.
With Oriel’s strict training, little by little, Cian started to show significant improvements(?) even startling the other people and trainers coaching him. However, it was not without hardship as Cian needed to regulate and managed precisely how much skill he needed to show and display to avoid suspicions and even the rate must neither too overbearing or too sloppy. And it was harder than one can imagine. He needed to precisely to control the change so that he would be seen as a hidden genius--a rough gem that only needed to be polished properly to make it beautiful, rather than an abnormal monster that has a heaven-defying potential but can attract unwanted attention.
Step by step, little by little, he shows improvement—and if he does greatly, he would surely be able to show all his abilities in the light sooner than he had expected, without attracting too much doubt and suspicion. In any case, before his notoriety showed up, he was once labeled as a genius in combat, though not as great as Lucifalion but indeed, just above average. Many people surmised that Lucifalion’s greatness overwhelmed the second prince leading him to a stray path, becoming a wastrel. And now, Cian can slowly change that notion as well as brightened his reputation…without attracting much attention, all while, establishing his foothold in secrecy on this world…!
Regarding this, much to Cian’s surprise, everything went smoothly that is hard to believe. Bloodhole Gang surprisingly submitted to him without complaints. And even no one dared to leave the group and almost all survivors stayed behind. Although they were reluctant and somewhat hesitant when Cian placed them with an enslavement curse through their souls, they could only sigh and accept. As much to their joy, Cian promised them that when they are proven loyal and trustworthy enough; he would take back the enslavement curse and make them a free man again. Although it was an empty promise, it was better than nothing.
In addition, Cian gave an investment with most of his money and wealth into the Bloodhole Gang. For him, it would be useless if they wouldn’t be able to step in the summit of this Okmahun Demon City. With wealth he accumulated as well as those given by Sitana, it was almost double that of Bloodhole Gang’s entire wealth, creating a stir within the Gang Leaders.
With this much wealth, they would surely be able to recover the loses from Cian’s rampage that night. Cian also gave them an order of recruiting and buying slaves to replenish their numbers and force. Although this was done with the plan to reinforce the Gang even stronger, Cian also managed to retain back his humanity, at the very least.
