... A dream of the past ...

“Sheena is as usual so beautiful…,” muttered by a youth with a neatly trimmed hair while sighing, upon which the other male students around him nodded deeply.

On the direction of their concentrated gazes was a beautiful girl with a long straight and black hair. Wilful eyes. Dignified eyelashes.  She had a beautiful face, supplemented by a nice figure and outstanding grades.

In addition, her pleasing personality made her rather popular, to her classmates and even to the entire teaching staff. She was indeed a perfect student without anything to complain about.

Currently, she was surrounded by a group of chattering girls, talking and laughing happily merrily. It’s as if they were trying to enjoy this atmosphere and savor this happiness while they can. Because they know that they would surely have a hard time seeing each other again after a few days.

--The long-awaited Graduation was finally coming.

And all of those friends and classmates will scatter in another place and who knows when they would meet again.

Still, unlike the spring-like mood hanging around them, someone was feeling completely different.

Far in the corner, sitting in the chair next to the door of the room was a black-haired youth with an indifferent expression. All his attention were on the book he was reading, with his usual bored expression, turned on. The aura around him was quiet and solemn as if all the commotion in his surrounding was nothing of concern.

However, if one looks closely, among the students gathered inside the classroom, he was the only one who was sitting alone in the chair. The other student was already making groups of two or more, talking and laughing merrily.

It was none other than, Cian Caloh.

A normal looking youth with a bit above average in terms of appearance but due to his blant and indifferent view in life, it gave others to have a bit difficulty in interacting with him.

But for Cian, this was the norm. It’s not like he was ostracized by the other students, in fact, due to his quite good appearance and academic grades, he was a bit popular than normal people. Many students tried befriending him. However, he was just a bit blunt person. He never liked crowds and preferred to stay alone.

Like a lone wolf in a pack...

Once in the past, there was someone who tried asking him some questions with an oh so obvious intention of getting to know each other, but Cian just ended it in a matter of seconds with, “I’m not so good with strangers, so don't talk to me,”-- those words, the person was struck dumb and was completely ignored by him.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

Since then, most people tried putting distance with him. However, events that had happened in anime and manga were all not just fiction but in fact, can happen sometimes. And we call these people, annoying.

There was someone who had tried befriending him, talking to him and never giving up despite Cian’s constant disregard. And of course, Cian wasn’t a real cold person in reality. After quite a long time, Cian started opening up (Which was giving up, actually). From responding from time to time, greetings, and joining with some events after schools, which he was dragged by that person using force.

And the classmates that had taken distance with him started warming up after realizing his real personality which was quite different from their assumptions and impressions.

Sadly, most of the time, Cian was alone, that’s because that’s what he had wanted. And all his classmates had managed to accept this after a long time. Now, they were neither too hot nor cold to him. If they have something important to ask, to talk or invitation for hanging out, they would come to him and call out without hesitation. Though whether he would come and join them was another matter—nevertheless, this had become his relationship with the class for a whole four years. Why four years?

It’s because in school when one had good academic grades, isn’t it normal for them to gather in the first section. And this continued from the 1st year to the 4th year--since the 1st section class from the first year was almost still the same in the 2nd year until the 4th with just a small difference. Thus, it could be said, that most of his classmates in the 4th year was his classmates when he was still a 1st year high school student.

“—Hey! What are you doing, mopping alone again~?” As Cian was silently reading a book about a wuxia novel, a voice suddenly called out to him, breaking out the peace and quite he had managed to find in a long time.

Driven by this sudden voice, Cian took his attention from the book and into the source. There standing was a beautiful girl with cheerful personality; Sheena Reyes.

She leaned on his desk and stared at him happily, “Studying seriously makes one bald, haven’t you heard that?”

“Too bad, I haven’t heard such saying before. What I know is that’s studying is like living in another world, where dreams and hopes collide…” Cian smiled faintly. If it was the him from two to three years ago, he would surely ignore the class idol–like character in front of him.

He and she were truly completely different from each other.

She was like the sun, giving bright to her surrounding while Cian was the moon, bright and beautiful when he was alone and everything around was dark and filled with shadows.

In normal circumstances, both of them would never intersect just like the moon and sun—however, sadly this wasn’t about heavenly bodies as the sun was annoying and didn’t want to leave the moon out, always annoyingly bugging the latter.

In the end, due to Sheena’s constant bugging, Cian’s personality had become a bit flexible that he can be able to respond in kind.

"He he, was that so?" Sheena giggled. "Never knew you were a romanticist~"

"Of course, you would not know. There are still too many things you don't know about this, young master. Too bad, we could have become good friends," Cian said sorrowfully as he returned his attention on the book he was reading.

"Then," Sheena smiled happily as she leaned down, her forehead almost touching Cian's. "...Teach me..."

"... ..."

"Let's start with the number of your phone..." She took her phone out and waved it in front of him while smiled charmingly.

"Sorry, my phone disappeared~" Cian simply said as he rolled his eyes and completely ignored her advances.

"... ..." Seeing this, Sheena could only grit her teeth in frustration. This blockhead...!!
