V3 Chapter 48

In the air, the Demon Princess Oriel was dodging the attacks from Julian and the Demon Succubus; Sorietta desperately, all while, also trying to counter-attack by shooting Ice Spears and Blizzard.

Oriel dodged a hail of fire arcs slashed out from the blazing Minotaur’s massive saber.

Julian the Fire Eater.

She had heard of him before; one of the Top Warriors of the War of Beasts that is said to have decimated an entire army of beastmen alone.

With thick hide that even magic swords could barely penetrate, he was a very powerful warrior that can use fire magic. There was even a rumor that he would eat flames to recover his strength and wounds and that as long as there is fire, he was a tireless killing machine- thus, being known as the Fire Eater.

“Frost Spear!!”

Gritting her teeth, Oriel jumped back and returned fire with her own powers. Pronged ice spears rained towards Julian who was floating in the air, using a pair of magic boots that seemed to be capable of stepping into the air as if there was an invisible platform.

However, the ice spears only melted from the hot, blazing flames that were coming out from the Minotaur’s body. And even if those that were able to reach his skin, are not strong enough to penetrate his hide.

I can't believe a monster like him existed…!

It seems like we’ve ignored the War of Beasts for too long.

Julian coated his saber with flames and smashed the ice spears away.

“Give it up, your highness! You cannot win!”

Julian snorted, smoke coming out from his nose.

“Don’t make me laugh!”

Oriel sneered in contempt. Despite the situation she was in, she still retained her callous, and cold expression.

“Even if victory is not in sight, the Princess of the Great Empire is someone who would die trying, and never surrender! We die with honor, we live with no shame!”

“Your Highness, this is not a battlefield. Let us reason together. It would be a regrettable waste, it would be nothing short of madness, were you, brave princess, and your valiant knights to perish... all because of a simple misunderstanding. There are many reasons we could share.” Julian once again reasoned.

“Oh, haven't you noticed? We've been sharing reasons with you in this battle! I have questions I have asked, and now those were already answered,”

Oriel grinned.

“You have come, stop me from joining the Walpurgis banquet, for a reason I know too well,”

“Your Highness, it seems like you have heard a misunderstanding. We don’t know what you’re talking about,” Julian’s face darkened.

“Whatever it may be, I care no less. You, have brought yourselves your death. The Empire will not overlook what happened today! Your War of Beasts would never have a peaceful day as long as you stand in the land of the Great Empire! Mark my words, as long as I won’t die today, I will chase you even to the depths of hell! I will make you regret blocking my path today!”

Oriel cried out in anger, and her voice seemed to cover the entire place.

“You don’t need to worry about that! For we are prepared to take even the whole world for the future we envisioned- for the Glory of the Beasts of War!!!”

Julian let out a loud roar, his eyes turned even redder.

The flames covering his large body burned even stronger, and he rushed forward like a charging mad bull.

Oriel attempted to shield herself, covering her entire body with [Ice Shield] but found the sheer heat of Julian's flames far too much to form a thick enough barrier. With a heave, Oriel sent her icy counterpart into the ground under the enemies burning saber. Despite the pain from the wounds she has, the fierceness she has didn’t waver.

The ground they landed on turned into a large crater, with no one but themselves around, as all the monsters and demons in the vicinity were blown away from the impact. Some turned to ashes, while some broke in shards of ice.

Oriel let out an enraged cry. Her body moved forward in rage; like a violent storm. She waved her sword that seemed to be made out of ice crystal and blocked the blazing axe.

A cold squall arose from the handle of her blade.

With a stomp of her foot, a deep trench was created and dust rose all around. Her heart was brimming with violent rage and indignation.

Being pushed back by them like this, caused her to feel an insufferable rage and humiliation. She raised her leg and launched a roundhouse kick, but it was easily blocked by Julian. In the first place, comparing physical strength, Oriel fell a few levels back.

She gritted her teeth and frowned from the heat that had burned her leg, still, clenched her sword, and slashed.

Ting! Ting! Ting!

Metallic sounds echoed in the place. They were moving so fast, their movements were too quick for any eyes to see. It was like a lightning strike… first here, then there… and then far-off… and then back again in the first place…

One side was covered by hellish flames, while the other a freezing inferno.

… …

“I won’t let you disturb her highness!!”

Rovarte jumped in the air, killing and slaughtering countless monsters as she made her way towards Ardon the Tyrant who was about to rush and join the fight against the Demon Princess.

Hearing her enraged cries and feeling her incredible power, Ardon’s attention couldn’t help but get attracted to her direction. It’s like a wild beast was charging toward him, that the murderous intention she was releasing even covered him despite the distance that is still between them.

“That woman is-!”

Ardon narrowed his eyes as he recognized the woman that was rushing wildly toward him.

Rovarte, the Demon Knight under the Demon Princess. Known as one of the strongest Demon Generals that follows the First Demon Princess.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Rovarte, the Beast of Slaughter.

Though, a demon and beast hybrid has a low status in the demon empire. However, that didn’t stop her from rising in prominence. She had caught the eyes of the Demon Princess and was recruited as a Knight.

After one war, she rose almost instantly, through her own achievement, and become a Demon General in just a short time. She was then known as the Beast of Slaughter, a killing demon of war that tears apart no matter who she faced against.

She’s well-known as the youngest Demon General under the Demon Princess, and despite many criticisms against her, she shut them up after obtaining achievements one after another.

She’s also another terrible beast under the Demon Princess.

As she rushed toward him, she was mowing everything that appears in front of her as she charged right straight at him. She runs through the battlefield, her figure like a bolt of lightning rushing out.

“Ao!Ao!Ao—!”

Two huge black wolves flew through the air at the same time, pouncing at her from two directions, their sharp claws extending outwards. They sliced apart the air, and blades formed by wind, indiscernible by the naked eye, came whistling behind her.

Still, Rovarte didn’t turn her head away and just kept looking forward. However, if one looks closely, the halberd she was holding vibrated with sounds of DingDingDing, and then without looking back, the halberd swings blossoming in the air.

The impact of the metal resounded throughout, and the pale silver blades of wind all shattered.

The next second, the cold light of the halberd covered the sky.

“Don’t stand in my way!!!”

An icy light stabbed through the gaping bloody mouth of the first wolf, stabbing through his throat and piercing out. The pointed spear blade of the halberd continued on, along with the still struggling corpse of the first wolf, piercing the abdomen of the second huge black wolf…

“Ao… Wu…”

Accompanied by the sounds of whimpering, the two wolves lost their lives in an instant. And immediately after Rovarte swing her weapon single-handedly despite the wolves hanging on her halberd. Then, her fist turning into a palm strike, slapping on the two corpses of the wolves skewered onto her halberd.

The corpses of the wolves whistled out, directly hitting another pair of wolves in midair. Their bones immediately broke, falling to the ground and struggling to get up.

“I said, don’t stand in my way!!”

Murderous intent overflowed from all around.

Seven black wolves even larger than usual, as if they were bolts of lightning, came swishing towards her. Their sharps claws spread open, a flurry of sharp weapons wanting to tear her into shreds.

Demonic wolves were a pack of giant wolves that did not fear death.

Once they were incited, they could only be calmed by death.

And Rovarte knows this.

“Scram!”

She held the halberd using both hands and explosion after explosion of noise resounded, booming to all parts. The black wolves were all blown outwards like flying objects by the long weapon. Her golden hair danced wildly, her demonic-like nature invoked, and like a beast, she slaughtered everything that moves.

The three-meter-long massive halberd within her hands, transformed into black lightning. Sometimes sweeping, sometimes snapping, as if a black dragon. Everywhere it passed, the bodies of wolves and monsters alike would crack and collapse.

Ardon watching her slaughtered her way toward him, look at her with a complicated expression.

In a blink of an eye, Rovarte had already arrived close, and with a single leap, the tiger centurion pounced on him;

“Dieeee!!”

With a loud, thunderous cry, Rovarte swung down her long, large halberd that was now fully covered with blood.

Ardon who saw her, also raised his spear, meeting her attach head-on.

BOOOOOM!!

The spear and halberd collided with each other in a forceful manner, creating a golden fiery spark. An incredible shockwave was generated from the point of the clash, blowing away everything nearby, even the ground hollowed out, creating a massive crater around them.

This caused the hearts of all the monsters and demons nearby to palpitate incessantly and hurriedly run away, afraid of getting involved by the onslaught of these two terrifying monsters.

Rovarte gritted her teeth, her sharp fangs making a grating noise as she glared at Ardon in rage.

“Geez, what luck. To think that I’d end up seeing a person like you all the way out here in this region…and you’d be my enemy. I know I should have not accepted this mission.”

Ardon let out a helpless sigh.

“So in the end, I’ve got to fight against one of my kind…what a big mess I’m in,”

“I won’t let you go to her highness!! You shall die in this place!!”

Rovarte’s angry words echoed on the entire battlefield.

“My bad missy, but I can’t exactly let you go and continue looking down on me like that.”

He glared at her, not yielding from the Demon General’s thick murderous intention.

“… and besides, you know what you’re doing is futile. You cannot turn the situation around- you and your soldiers will perish in this land, unless, you surrender. If you do, we will spare your knights, and we will make certain that no harm shall be done to you, and the Demon Princess, she will be safe. So what about it?”

“I REFUSE!”

With just a slight force, the numbing feeling was suppressed, and Rovarte exerted all her strength, pushing back Ardon.

“You can only take her highness before my corpse!!”

Soon after, the two of them started a fierce battle.

As they crossed each other, their front legs kicked like ill-mannered horses, the two of them could feel the scorching battle intent their blood to boil. If they did not fight to the death, it would be extremely difficult.

“I would never give our princess to the likes of you!”

Rovarte grit her teeth. Her rising desire for battle caused a surge of power to directly envelop the Dragon Halberd in her hand, causing it to immediately shine with brilliance.

Her strength skyrocketed, that even Ardon was slowly being pushed back.

“You, little Lady is indeed worthy of being called the Beast of Slaughter, your power is indeed praised worthy,”

Ardon jumped back, and then once again rushed forward, the look in his eyes was like that of a cold arrow that could be released any time.

The two weapons once again clashed, but this time, they were entangled.

Two different types and colors of magic power; one red and one purple, intertwined with each other. Behind them, their magic power seemed to have materialized, as creatures that resembled a tiger and crocodile started to appear and immediately pounced at each other-

[Beast Soul]

A unique technique that only those of the Werebeast Bloodline could use.

Using their magic power, they could manifest the true form of their soul, and use it for battle, either enhance their own abilities or materialize it in a form of a [Beast Soul].

Though, only the strongest can completely materialize their [Beast Soul] like Rovarte and Ardon.

A creature that resembled a saber tiger, but having spikes on its shoulder as well as spikes lining up its spine appeared from Rovarte, while Ardona was a bidepal crocodile that looked more like a drake, wrestled around them.

If not for their almost translucent bodies, they might actually pass off as real monsters.

Ardon leaned back. Rovarte’s halberd almost scraped his nose from her power-filled strike. His arched back would have even made the best limbo player in the world jealous.

“You better not look away when I’m in front of you!!”

“Oh my, what a scary woman you are,”

"STAND STILL!"

Rovarte yelled as Ardon’s incredible technique sidestepped another one of her blows.

Despite his massive build, he was incredibly nimble and quick, and even if she was able to hit him, the armored scaled on his body was able to block her attack with but a scratch.

The drake clansmen- two of the things that made them famous are their incredible superhuman strength that even outclasses the strongest trolls and scales that seemed to be as tough as the highest grade metals.

They are natural predators, killing machines that are almost dubbed as War Gods on a battlefield.

Rovarte took a step back and spun to increase the power of her next swing and let loose.

Ardon brought his spear in front of him and easily blocked her attack.

Wind gusted from the impact of their weapons. Both of them were propelled in opposite directions as each of their weapons bounced off from their own power.

The dust and dirt around thickens, though, it was immediately blown away by an invisible gust, that suddenly appeared, clearing everything around them.

The area was covered with a solemn, tense atmosphere.
