Episode 78 Selected team match
As Karina said, the members who would appear in the selection team battle were Alisa and the others.
And then, the day of the competition finally arrived. Students from four magic academies in the prefecture gathered at a venue built in the urban area of Shibugami City.
The vast grounds of the venue were large enough to hold two soccer matches at the same time.
When the competition began, Alisa and the others joined Kurotsuki and asked about the rules of the competition. Students from the other three schools were also there.
They heard from Kurotsuki that the rival of the Jibik Magic Academy would be the Phyllis Magic Academy team.
It seemed that the Phyllis team also had an existence like Kurotsuki. They seemed to be a Muscle Wizard named Kizaki Futaba in the second year. All the remaining members were a special team of Attack Wizards.
Among the remaining two schools, Veld Magic Academy had a well-balanced composition of three Muscle Wizards and two Attack Wizards. However, there was no owner of outstanding ability, and it could be said that it was a team without a distinctive feature.
And the Kaseo Magic Academy consisted of four Muscle Wizards and one Attack Wizard. The team was the complete opposite of Phyllis Magic Academy. However, there was no owner of outstanding ability on that team.
"The requirement for victory this time is to go to the 6th floor of the Akase Dungeon and defeat the Dungeon Boss. As proof of that, you will be asked to bring back the magic stone. However, the condition is that you must defeat any monsters you encounter along the way."
The vice principal explained with a dissatisfied face. He didn't like that Alisa and the others were selected as members. After the explanation was over, they just waited for it to begin.
The Akase Dungeon was a beginner level dungeon located a short distance from Shibugami City. It seemed that it would be judged that it wasn't unfair since it was a dungeon that the students of each academy didn't use much.
There was a reason students didn't use the Akase Dungeon very often. It was a beginner level dungeon with only six floors, but the monsters inside were mostly monsters with high defensive power, such as BigSheep and ArmoredWolves, so they weren't popular with the students.
"Kurotsuki-san from Jibik."
Kizaki from the Phyllis team called out to Kurotsuki. She was a beautiful girl with a slighly cold atmosphere.
"That's right. You're Kizaki-san from Phyllis, right."
"Yeah, I'm not going to let you win today. That's all I came to say."
Saying that, Kizaki tried to return. But Kurotsuki returned,

"You're quite confident. You must have confidence in your team members."
"That's right. The members are also excellent. Except for me, everyone is an Attack Wizard. What can you say about your members? I heard that there was an accident."
Alisa and the others were interested in how Kurotsuki would reply. Kurotsuki answered with a confused face.
"M, my members are a little strange, but they are all excellent students."
"Yes, I would like to introduce myself."
Kizaki went in front of Alisa and the others.
"I'm Kizaki, a Muscle Wizard. Might I ask for your names?"
When Alisa and the others introduced themselves, Kizaki's face showed a stunned expression. Since Amane and Alisa had higher Life Magic than Analysis Magic or Enchantment Magic, they began to call themselves Life Wizards.
"Jibik is crazy.
Amane pouted and complained.
"That's a bit rude. To discriminate just because we're Life Wizards."
Kizaki laughed through her nose.
"It's not discrimination, right. Can a Life Wizard defeat monsters in the dungeon?"
Amane glared at Kizaki with a sharp gaze.
"Fuun, making fun of Life Magic is digging your own grave."
Kizaki glared at Amane.
"You seem to be good with your mouth. That's fine. When you return from the dungeon, I'll have you show me that Life Magic that you're so proud of."
Amane shuddered as Kizaki left.
"It's getting interesting. Let's definitely win and punch her in the nose."
Alisa tilted her head.
"Punch her in the nose? That's just violent ... Shouldn't we just get the better of her and leave her speechless?"(TN:Wordplay here, 'hana o nagutte' as opposed to 'hana o aka shite')
"Yes, that."
Alisa thought that Amane was getting too excited, but she thought it would be a good opportunity to spread the splendor of Life Magic and decided to do her best.
The mock battles and magic power competitions had begun, and the voices of support were lively. Then came the time to leave. Alisa and the others, who appeared in the center of the venue, departed while receiving support from the students of each academy.
Among them, many students of the Jibik Magic Academy had dissatisfied looks on their faces. This tendency was particularly strong among the first and third year students who didn't know about Alisa and the others.
"Why are there two Life Wizards in there?'
"I don't know. It's because they're strong."
"But, isn't it strange that Life Wizards are strong?"
Such conversations were exchanged.
Alisa and the others left the venue and headed for the Akase Dungeon. It was about two kilometers from the venue to the Akase Dungeon. It seemed that running to the dungeon was part of the competition.
Since it was a competition, teachers from each school accompanied the students as supervisors to ensure that they didn't cheat. Accompanying Alisa and the others was a teacher named Nase from Phyllis Magic Academy.
"At times like this, Muscle Wizards have an advantage, but it seems that there was no team with all Muscle Wizards."
Alisa spoke while running at a speed similar to jogging.
"Shouldn't we hurry a little more?"
Kurotsuki said a little impatiently.
"No, if we increase our speed any further, we'll run out of stamina before we reach the dungeon."
Alisa affirmed. Her physical strength was improving as she dove into dungeons. However, compared to Amane and Chika, she was still lacking in stamina.
After they arrived at the dungeon, they quickly changed clothes and went inside. There they met up with Kizaki and the others from Phyllis Magic Academy.
"Huh, we're together. Now it's time for the real thing."
Alisa and the others started following the shortest route, relying on the map handed to them by the vice-principal. From the 1st to the 3rd floor, Alisa and the others were slightly ahead of Kizaki and the others.
Alisa and the others were practicing quick shooting under the direction of Grimm. Because of that, they usually killed monsters instantly. Before Kurotsuki could attack, Alisa and the others defeated them, so there was no turn for Kurotsuki.
That lead, however, was subtle. However, after encountering BigSheep on the 4th floor, there was a noticeable difference.
The reason was the fur of the BigSheep. Its fur was special, and it seemed to repel Attack Magic. Therefore, it couldn't be defeated in one hit, and normally it took time to defeat it.
However, Life Magic had 'Mowing'. If you attacked after shearing it's fur, you could defeat them in a short time. Alisa and the others took a step ahead and exited the 4th floor.
Nase, the supervisor, smiled wryly at Alisa and the others' method of shearing and defeating the BigSheep.
At that point, Alisa and the others took the lead. Kizaki and the others were chasing after them, followed by Veld Magic Academy and Kaseo Magic Academy.
Alisa and the others unfortunately encountered a KingSnake while advancing through the 5th floor. That happens if you're unlucky.
"This guy is a formidable enemy. I will defeat it."
Kurotsuki, who didn't have a turn to appear, spoke up. Alisa raised an objection.
"But, I think we can defeat it faster if we all fight together."
"Leave this to me and save your magic."
Kurotsuki began to fight the KingSnake. After strengthening with his Magic Spells, he raised his sword and charged. As expected, Kurotsuki was strong. He cornered the KingSnake in no time, and finally finished it off with 'Crash Bullet'.
