Episode 139 The future of Life Magic

After interviewing Alisa and the others, Emiri said she wanted to interview their teacher, Grimm. Tajima also said he wanted to meet him.

"Grimm-sensei should stop by the Adventurer's Guild after diving into the Suigetsu Dungeon to exchange the magic stones."

Amane told her such. When Emiri heard that, she made a troubled face.

"If that's the case, it might get too late."

"It's okay. Today is the day he is studying magic letters, so I think he'll be back soon."

Amane, who happened to know his schedule, answered. Karina who heard that asked with a smile.

"You even know about that?"

"I asked about his schedule because we are working together on an action plan to defeat the OrcKing."

Emiri and Tajima decided to go to the Adventurer's Guild. Along the way, Emiri asked a question.

"Tajima-san, what do you think of their Life Magic?"

"As a student at the Magic Academy, I'm sure they have the ability to be in the top 20. But not in the top 3. Hashiba from Amelda Magic Academy, and Midou, a D-class adventurer, are probably higher."

"What makes you think that?"

"They are aiming for the 20th floor of the intermediate dungeon, but Midou-tachi are active on the 30th floor. They will have different levels of experience."

"How about Grimm-sensei, who we're going to meet now? Is he really a person who can become C-class or B-class. I'm looking forward to meeting him."

When the two arrived at the Adventurer's Guild, they waited for Grimm in the waiting room. And then, a young adventurer came in, and when he had finished exchanging for money, he walked up to Emiri-tachi.

"Hello. I'm Sakaki, I heard you have something to do with me?"

"I'm Onizuka Emiri, a reporter for the Weekly Adventurer. I would like to interview you, is that okay?"

I was a little moved by the words 'Weekly Adventurer'. Because I never thought that a reporter from the famous Weekly Adventurer would come to interview me. There was no problem other than spreading my real name, so I agreed on the condition that she would write it as 'Grimm-sensei'.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

When I asked about the situation, I was told that they were introduced by Alisa-tachi.

"Is that person also a reporter?"

"Ohh, I forgot to introduce you. He's Tajima Youichi-san, a magic critic who writes articles for the Weekly Adventurer."

"Magic critic? There are people with that kind of occupation. I've never heard of it before."

Tajima's face became slightly displeased. Emiri, who saw it,

"Well, there aren't many magic critics, so it's no wonder you don't know about it."

I asked them what they wanted to know.

"It's about the future of Life Magic. I was told that Grimm-sensei would become a C-class or B-class adventurer. Do you really think that a Life Wizard can become a first-class adventurer?"

Adventurers were sometimes called first-class for A-B-C class, and second-class for D-E class. It was a rude way to say it to D-class and E-class adventurers, but it couldn't be helped because it was what they were commonly called.

"Of course. In the future, I would like to use the advanced dungeons as my place of activity."

Tajima interjected.

"To put it simply, the rank increase test for C-class adventurers is difficult. The task in a certain advanced dungeon was to defeat the BlueOgre, but are you confident that you can defeat it?"

I only knew the name BlueOgre, but I didn't know how strong it was.

"Is that BlueOgre stronger than the OrcKing?"

"It's the same, or a little weaker. Well, you can think of it as equal."

If that was the case, I thought I could beat it. The problem was the speed of the BlueOgre. If it was faster than the OrcGeneral, it would be a tough fight.

"I think I can win if they're evenly matched."

Tajima cast a sharp gaze at me, who declared that I would win easily.

"You're not looking down on the monsters in the dungeon, are you?"

"It's nothing like that."

"It was the same with the students of the Magic Academy, but when I asked if there was a magic that could kill the OrcKing, who has high defense, they only answered that there was."

Perhaps, was there a problem with the way Tajima asked the question? Since he was a magic critic by profession, he must have a wealth of knowledge about existing magic. However, it shows up as having an arrogant attitude and is offensive.

"It's not yet registered with the Magic Agency, so I think that's why they didn't answer."

After I tried deceiving them, Emiri leaned forwards.

"So you're saying that it's Life Magic discovered by Grimm-sensei?"

I nodded.

"That's right. 'High Blade' and 'Wing' are scheduled to be registered in the future."

"But, those were shown at the exchange meeting."

Emiri pointed out.

"At the exchange meeting, in order to spread Life Magic, I gave special permission."

"Is that so."

It looked like I managed to deceive them. I couldn't say it was because they didn't like Tajima's attitude.

Tajima glared at me.

"So, if you use that 'High Blade' and 'Wing', can you defeat the OrcKing?"

Twenty shots of the SeventhHighBlade might kill it. However, it's not a monster that stays still without counterattacking, so it's probably impossible in reality.

If you're going to kill it with 'High Blade', then it's the NinthHighBlade using the D-Particle Collector. If it's 'Heat Shell', you'll need the SeventhHeatShell.

Since I couldn't turn Alisa and the others into liars, I decided to show them one of the trump cards.

"I have taught them Life Magic similar to 'Death Shot' as a trump card. WIth that, they should be able to kill the OrcKing."

Tajima looked at me with suspicious eyes.

"Is there really such a Life Magic?"

I checked the time. Instructor Murase, who was teaching me magic letters, would come to my house in an hour. There was time to go to the paid practice field.

"That's fine. I'll actually show you."

WHen I asked to go to the paid practice area, Emiri negotiated with the Adventurer's Guild to borrow a car. We arrived at the paid practice field with Emiri driving us.

"Grimm-sensei, can you show me 'Wing' and 'High Blade' first?"

"That's fine."

I flew around in the sky with 'Wing'. Tajima, who saw that, had his eyes widen.

"I thought it would be similar to 'Fly', but it's completely different. This is likely to revolutionize activities in dungeons."

Then, I showed them the SeventhHighBlade. When the D-Particle blade cut into the concrete target and created a large groove, Emiri's eyes widened and Tajima let out a groan.

"Amazing, this power might be comparable to 'Death Shot' ..."

"That's too quick. To activate in such a short time, what is this power."

Emiri was surprised by its power, while Tajima seemed to pay attention to the time it took to activate.

"But, that's not good enough. I don't think even the SeventhHighBlade can defeat the OrcKing."

That was certainly true, but when Tajima said it, it was somewhat irritating.
