Episode 367 Nezu's Homecoming

Episode 367 Nezu's Homecoming

Shinichiro Nezu got off the train in Nagoya and returned to his parents' house while the Grimms were taking down basilisk zombies.

I'm home."

 My brother's pupil night

tonight

comes out and greets them.

"Hey, brother, welcome back. Are you doing well over there?"

'Yeah, it's going well, I'm at E level, and I'm making a decent amount of money.'

Then give my brother some money.

Shinichiro looked at his younger brother with staring eyes, then handed him a 10,000 yen bill. The younger brother, a high school student, accepts it with a smile.

I'll just say it. You're doing really well."

He said, "Well, yeah. I think I'll be a D student soon."

As I was talking to my brother, my mother came home.

Shinichiro, are you alive?"

'That's terrible. You're alive? You told me you were training with Master Grim, an A-level adventurer. You told me you were training with Grimm, the A-level adventurer."

I mean, I don't know any Dr. Grimms or anything like that, so how am I supposed to eat properly?"

Shinichiro's parents were ordinary people with no connection to the dungeon.

Of course. And Dr. Grimm is one of only four A-level adventurers in Japan. He is so good that once he dives into a dungeon, he comes back with something worth more than tens of millions of yen.

"Hmmm. By the way, what's up with your sudden return?"

Mr. Grimm is going to Kyoto to defeat a monster called the Basilisk Zombie, and he asked me to go with him on the way back to his hometown.

Wow, you're a good teacher."

 Hitoyo leans in with interest.

Hey, hey, what kind of monster is this monster?"

It is said that only an A-level adventurer can defeat it.

It's a real monster. I don't know if I can beat that thing."

Dr. Grimm is the kind of guy who doesn't fight a fight he's going to lose, so he's going to win."

Shinichiro hands his mother a paper bag containing 3 million yen. When the mother receives the bag, she looks at the contents and exclaims in surprise.

What's wrong with this money?"

I had a dungeon error when I killed a demon called Attack Boa. I sold that meat for money."

The mother had never heard of a dungeon error, so I had to explain it to her.

After spending two days relaxing at my parents' house, I went to the Adventurers' Guild. I wanted to say hello to the branch manager.

When I asked at the reception counter if I could meet the branch manager, I was told that I would have to wait about an hour because there was a customer in front of me.

You, Nezu-san, are practicing living magic in Shibushi City, aren't you? How are you doing?"

Asked by a receptionist who knew him, Nezu nodded.

It was the right decision to go to Shibupi City; I could have made it to the E level."

Congratulations."

When Nezu laughed at the congratulations, he saw the guys he had not wanted to meet. They were Imazawa, Saito, and Honjo, three men in their late twenties. These three had a reputation for having poor manners and causing problems for other adventurers.

'Hey, I see an old face here. Where have you been?"

In the past, Nezu would have taken it in stride, but now, for some reason, he felt foolish for paying attention to the trio.

It's the Shibu Paper City, famous for its life magic."

I don't think I've heard of this town. That's how you got to E level?"

Imazawa got involved. They are a troublesome bunch.

I'm now in training for the D level. Now I'm training for the D level.

This trio are D-level adventurers, but it seems they got twisted up because they couldn't get past the barriers to become C-level.

"Damn, you're cocky. We'll give you a lesson, shall we?"

No, thank you. None of the three of you can do life magic."

I was. You are a life magician, aren't you? It's not easy for someone whose only talent is life magic.

Nezu becomes miffed. Honjo sees this face and comes up to Nezu and tries to grab him by the chest.

What are you doing?"

It was the voice of the stern-faced Ayukawa branch manager.

The branch manager, who had finished talking with the prior guests earlier in the day, came out. The branch manager's stern eyes turned to the trio.

"Oh, it's you guys again. Enough of this or I'm going to call the Board of Inquiry.

The Adventurers' Guild Board of Inquiry has the authority to expel or demote those who behave in an unbecoming manner as adventurers. They are a scary place for adventurers.

We didn't do anything. We were just talking to Nezu."

That's all well and good, but don't cause problems."

The branch manager looked around at the adventurers in the waiting room.

"A lodgerless was found in the fourth level of the Cloisonne dungeon."

The adventurers' attention is focused on the branch manager. Imazawa opens his mouth.

What kind of demons are they?"

Ankylodon. It is a quadrupedal dinosaur-type demon covered with a hard outer skin that looks like it is made of stone. You can't defeat it with ordinary swords or spears."

The branch manager explained the characteristics of Ankylodon. Apparently, it is a strong demon that is difficult for Class E, but Class D can defeat it.

The Adventurers' Guild was planning to recruit volunteers to defeat Ankylodon. Nezu decided to participate. It was a bit of a test of skill.

 Imazawa glared at Nezu.

You don't want to slow them down."

I will."

Nezu took Imazawa's words in stride and approached the branch manager.

Thanks to you, I will be a full-fledged adventurer. Thank you very much."

I was just offering a little advice. If you can become a full-fledged person, then that's your hard work, Nezu-kun."

After talking to the branch manager, Nezu headed to the Shippo Dungeon.

The equipment was in a magic pouch that Grim gave me when I became a Class E adventurer. Apparently, Grim had an extra magic pouch that he obtained from Goblin Meyer after hunting goblins over and over again to train his swordsmanship with a Western sword.

When I told him he should sell it, he said he was hoarding the magic pouch because it was just the right gift to give as a congratulatory gift for some occasion.

When I asked him how much it would be if he sold it, he said he did not know because he had never sold one. When I looked up the price after receiving it, I remember my face getting tense because it was not an amount of money that I would give as a gift casually. However, it seems that for Grimm, a magic pouch with the capacity of a Boston bag is not a big deal.

After changing in the dungeon house, Nezu entered the dungeon with a group of adventurers who were participating in an ankylodon hunt. Walking at the front of the pack was the branch manager, who apparently used to be a C-level attack magician.
