Episode 76 Fire and flight
After persuading Master Mitsuhashi who wanted to continue to train, we returned to the surface and went to adventurer's guild. It was for him to exchange magic stones for money.
"Wouldn't it be good to train a little more?"
Master Mitsuhashi protested, but knowing that his mana was running low, I didn't allow it.
"In the dungeon, I am your Master. I will have you follow my instructions."
Master let out a sigh.
"That's right. It seems I was getting carried away."
Master was surprised when he saw the wad of money that was paid after converting the magic stones.
"Being an adventurer is a profitable business."
"The red magic stones left by the LizardSoldiers can be exchanged for a relatively high amount of money."
After receiving the money, we bought coffee and entered the meeting room.
"Next, I'll have you learn the Life Magic 'Blade'."
"That's the one that cuts with that invisible sword."
I used 'Blade' in the dungeon, so a detailed explanation seemed unnecessary. I took out a 'Blade' magic circle from my backpack and handed it over.
"How would you use it, if it was Master?"
"Well, I could activate the magic alongside a hand sword, or I could match it with a kick."
I was surprised by that idea. I never thought of activating it in conjunction with a kick. It didn't need to be activated in conjunction with any movement, but it was an effective means because it would be activated faster if there was a trigger.
Master suddenly bowed his head.
"Thank you. Now I can explore martial arts without working part-time."
"Dungeon exploration is also like a part-time job."
Master Mitsuhashi smiled and said no.
"Dungeon exploration is a battle. It's also effective as a martial arts training."
I parted with Master and went back to my apartment.

"As expected, I'm tired after being in the dungeon and working hard at the dojo."
I dove into the dungeon every other day, so I thought I had a lot of physical strength. However, after practicing unfamiliar karate, the dungeon was tough for me.
"Maybe I should sleep all day tomorrow."
After thinking about that, I went to bed, but by the next morning, I didn't feel any fatigue at all.
That made me want to do something. There was no longer Internet or video game consoles in this world, so the only way to kill time was to read a book or listen to the radio indoors. I had no hobbies.
"Maybe I should buy a TV."
Television existed because analog broadcasting and CRT televisions were making a comeback. I decided to go shopping for the first time in a while.
I headed to the station, which was the center of Shibugami City. The number of public telephones, which had been on the decline at one point, was beginning to increase. There were many large buildings in the downtown area, but the older ones were bigger and the newer ones were smaller.
There were fewer cars than there used to be. There was a reason for that. The energy that supported this society was electrical energy extracted from yellow magic stones. Since cars also used yellow magic stones as an energy source, the energy bill was high.
Oil and coal were still used, but they were more expensive than before. It declined as an industry in the era of global warming, and the amount of mining decreased. This was related to the fact that mining technology had declined since computer-related things had been wiped out.
I wore only a magic pouch around my waist in my usual casual outfit. There were many restaurants and corporate offices here, and there was also a large supermarket, so it was a convenient place.
There was a big electronics store here. I went upstairs to watch TV. I purchased a small TV that fit my apartment and arranged for it to be shipped.
Just when I was thinking about going outside to eat something, I heard a popping sound from afar. My surroundings were buzzing.
Smoke was rising from a building a short distance away. A fire seemed to have broken out.
"Hey, fire!"
Someone screamed. I went to the scene of the fire. A small five-story building was on fire. Fire was rising from the second floor, and black smoke was coming out of the windows.
It seemed that people who failed to escape from the fire headed for the roof.
"Adventurers, let's go rescue them."
A person who seemed to be a Muscle Wizard jumped into the building. But, he came back out shortly. It seemed that the stairs were blocked by fire.
"Okay, I'll help them from the next building."
Hearing the man's voice, the adventurers rushed into the next building. Most of them were likely Muscle Wizards. Attack Wizards were not suitable for this kind of work, so they would probably ignore them.
Would a Life Wizard help? I didn't really know. I might get in the way, but I decided to participate anyway. I headed to the roof of the next building.
There were four adventurers on the roof. From the appearance of their bodies, I guessed that they were Muscle Wizards. I remembered seeing the face of the man who first raised his voice. He was D-class adventurer, Mera Shoiichi. He was the leader of a team of adventurers called the 'Drunken Squad'. Maybe they all were members of the 'Drunken Squad'.
Looking at the building next door, it seemed that five people who failed to escape had climbed to the roof. The people were waving and shouting for help.
The Muscle Wizards nodded while staring at the neighboring rooftop. The next building was about the same height and had a roof at the same height.
"Everyone, let's do it."
"Yes!"
What will you do? Mera handed each of them a piece of a sarashi cut into three-meter strips. I took one too. It seemed that the drawstring bag on Mera's waist was the same drawstring bag type Magic Bag as my Magic Pouch.
The sarashi seemed to be for first aid in case of injury.
"I'll go first."
What are you going to do? Watching him, he went to the other side of the roof and then stared at the building next door. No way, you're kidding. You're gonna jump that distance.
Mera sprinted across the roof with tremendous momentum.
"Uoryaa!"
Mera kicked the roof and jumped to the other building. It wasn't an easy feat even for a Muscle Wizard. I think he used magic like 'Power Tank'.
If I was going to jump anyway, I thought it would be nice to have a rope with me, but I don't think I had such a long rope. I wondered where such a rope might be, but I had no idea. I couldn't think of a possible place.
I didn't think I had time to look for one. Smoke started to rise not only from the second floor but also from the third floor. Assuming I could jump over to the other building, how would I get down?
Mera provided that answer. A woman was carried on his back and fixed with the sarashi. Then, he began to go down the wall of the building in the manner of bouldering.
"No way, bouldering while carrying someone on his back."
The remaining Muscle Wizards nodded in agreement, and jumped to the next building with a running start.
They are 'Men'. I let out a sigh at the same time. Did I have to jump too? Looking at the force of the fire, if I didn't go, one person would probably burn to death. Mustering up my courage, I activated the quintuple-activated 'Catapult'.
A giant hand made of D-Particle leafs wrapped around me and moved at high speed. It threw me at an angle diagonally upwards rather than horizontally. My body tightened due to the intense acceleration.
By the time I noticed the magic had been lifted, I was flying halfway across the road below. However, at that rate, I would fall before I reached the next building.
I activated 'Catapult' once more, but it was a triple activated TripleCatapult. My body, which was dancing in the air, was once again grabbed by the giant's hand and moved at high speed.
