I am not a regular reader of Adventurer Weekly, but Nezu is an avid reader and buys it every week. I sometimes read it myself because it is kept on the shelf in the cafeteria after I have finished reading it.
I returned that day after practicing life magic and combat training at a nearby pay practice, and waited idly for dinner. So I picked up the weekly adventurer on the shelf and started reading.
In the latest issue, there was a special feature on martial arts popular among adventurers. It seems that Yumeyan-ryu fighting and Seiinen-ryu swordsmanship are popular among adventurers. In this latest issue, we can see Ootsuki of the Yumekan style of martial arts

A martial arts master named Shihan told me about his story and wrote an article about it. Master Ohtsuki seems to be a famous martial arts master who has participated in world competitions.
Incidentally, there is not even a "na" in Nankuru style karate.
Nancl-style karate has a few more disciples, though."
I heard that several other students of mine had also joined Nankuru-ryu karate. I wondered if they would last.
As I was reading the weekly Adventurer, the word "hero" jumped out at me. The word "hero" is a title given to adventurers who have defeated demons called "demon kings" in dungeons.
According to the article, he defeated a demon king called "Balor" in the Kassel dungeon in Germany and earned the title of hero. The hero is said to be a local adventurer named Gilbert Schreiber.
'Balor' or ...... what kind of demon was he?"
Hearing my soliloquy, Metis began to explain. According to him, Balor is a giant-type demon with a demon eye, and if it is seen with that demon eye, it will die.
Schreiber is a Class A offensive magician with a ranking of 32nd.
"It occurred to me, why is it that if you defeat the Demon King, you get the title of 'hero,' but if you defeat the Evil God, you don't get any title?"
I'm not the one who wants the title. Besides, since the evil god Chitkaa is an existence called a household member of a real evil god, he might not be called an evil god by nature.
'Isn't the Demon Lord difficult to defeat because he has so many under his command?'
'Eh, such a difference. Oh well."
What's wrong with the brave?"
I heard that Schreiber the Brave was invited to Japan for the World Adventurers Forum.
The World Adventurers Forum is held every few years, and this year it will be held in Japan. This year, the World Adventurers Forum will be held in Japan, and as a Class A adventurer, I have been asked to participate.
So that means we might meet a brave man?"
Yes."
I am looking forward to the World Adventurers Forum, which will be held in Hokkaido in three weeks. I am thinking of inviting Alisa to go with me.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
'But first, what about Master Mitsuhashi's invitation?'
Master Mitsuhashi invites me to observe a martial arts tournament in Tokyo. He says that it is a competition where magic is prohibited and only pure martial arts skills are used, but that it should be a good learning experience.
Since Master Mitsuhashi invited me for my sake, I decided to go and observe.
Three days later, I headed to Tokyo with Mitsuhashi Shihan. The venue for the tournament was a facility built on the site of the Nippon Budokan. Yamato
Yamato
It's called Budokan, and I've never been here before.
I looked around to see if any adventurers I knew would be participating, and sure enough, there they were. A magic-user named Nirasaki of the "Kirinji" team, who had recently arrived in Shibupaper City, was participating in the tournament.
Do I know you?"
Master Mitsuhashi asked when he noticed me looking at Nirasaki.
Yes, I am Nirasaki, active in the Narukami Dungeon.
Sounds like Yumekan-ryu fighting techniques."
Master Mitsuhashi looked at Nirasaki's movements and immediately guessed the martial art school he was studying. As I was looking at Nirasaki, thinking, "That's great," Nirasaki noticed my gaze.
I thought you were Dr. Grimm. Are you going to participate?"
Nirasaki's language is polite because I am an A-class student. But I can sense his enthusiasm that even he will soon become an A-class student.
No, I'm just here to observe. How are you doing?"
Since Nirasaki is of the same generation as Tesshin, I responded in a polite way too.
I'm doing great."
Then someone who appeared to be Nirasaki's teacher appeared. He was Master Ootsuki of the Yumeaki style of martial arts. He had a stout physique and was well-trained.
Nirasaki, are you ready?"
Yes, I'm fine.
Master Otsuki noticed us and gave us a sharp look.
Who are these people?"
This is Mr. Sakaki, a Class A adventurer.
Unusually, he knew my real name. However, he didn't seem to know about Master Mitsuhashi. I will introduce him.
This is my martial arts master, Master Mitsuhashi of Nankuru-ryu karate.
Master Otsuki gives me a look that says, 'I don't know of any such school. It is true that it is not famous, so it is no wonder he does not know it.
It looks like it's going to start, so players, gather around."
Nirasaki went to the meeting place. We went to the game and sat down.
Do you know that man, Master Otsuki?"
I asked Master Mitsuhashi.
I only know rumors, but I hear he's a pure martial artist who's never dived in a dungeon."
Are you strong?"
I believe he won the World Championships. When I was in my prime, I was known as the 'heavy tank.'"
He seems to be a different type of martial artist than Master Mitsuhashi. Nankuru-ryu karate has become more conscious of the fact that he is fighting demons, and he rarely blocks attacks.
If you catch a demon's attack instead of parrying it, it is because you are a human being who will be defeated by its power. There are some cases where the situation can be reversed by using magical armour magic, but that is an exception.
'You are not allowed to use magic in this tournament, are you? How do you check?"
'Oh, I ask the attack wizards to do that. They can see magic."
Just as a living magician can sense the slightest D-particle, an attacking magician can sense small magical forces. They use that as a check.
I observed the match with Master Mitsuhashi's commentary. It was quite interesting as Master Mitsuhashi explained the tactics of attack and defense.
I realized that fighting between humans requires a high level of bargaining. I may encounter demons that will require it, so I will need to practice.
Matches consist of striking, kicking, throwing, joint techniques, and sleeping. Prohibited are "eye thrusts," "golden strikes," "head butting," "finger choking," and dangerous throwing techniques such as piledrivers. The rules are said to be almost the same as those of mixed martial arts.
The weight class match started and Nirasaki began to fight. He is indeed strong, but his techniques seem to be rough with an emphasis on power.
Can Nirasaki win?"
No, that was only until about the third round. If they see through your technique, it will be the end."
As Mitsuhashi Shihan predicted, Nirasaki lost in the third round. Their attacks became monotonous, and they were countered.
In the next match, a player lost a foul for the first time. It seems that he used prohibited magical powers.
It was now lunchtime and I was about to interrupt my visit to go outside. Then, the player who had just lost a foul by using magic power was struggling with the staff at the entrance.
The player is complaining that he did not try to use magic, but that the magic just leaked out of his body. In this tournament, it is not forbidden to use magic, but it is forbidden to use magic power, so it would be no good after all.
They don't know what they're talking about. Go get somebody more important."
Master Mitsuhashi, who was watching this, twisted his face uncomfortably. The foul players saw it.
'Geez, what's your problem?'
Here was a brave man. He had a lot of guts to call Master Mitsuhashi an old man.
Have you not read the rules? It says you can't use magic power. Accept your defeat by foul play and go home quietly.
You're being a pain in the ass.
A huge player, who looked to be over 190 centimeters tall, tried to grab Master Mitsuhashi by the chest. Just in time to avoid his hand, Mitsuhashi took a step forward and struck the player on the chin with his right palm.
At that moment, the giant player fell to the floor with white eyes. I was astonished in my heart, saying, 'Oh, wow! It was because the timing, force, and angle were perfect. I know that this technique shakes the brain and causes concussion, but when it is so perfect, it looks like magic.
The struggle seemed to have caught the attention of the people watching, and they were surprised to hear it on my behalf.
