Chapter 6: Wiseman, ed.

Episode 238 Security Shadow Puppets

In the era when the world was filled with D-Particles and dungeons were created, people changed and became able to use magic. However, not all of mankind had become able to use it.

Only those with talent could use magic. However, just because you couldn't use magic didn't mean you lost your value as a human being.

A heavyweight in the economic world, Ohnishi Keizou, who was also the chairman of a large company, was not blessed with magical talent, but he was blessed with a talent for running a business.

He was currently troubled. What troubled him was his grandchild Momoka.

"Momoka, don't bother your grandfather."

"But, Grandpa said anything was fine."

Momoka was asked by her grandfather what she wanted for her birthday, and she said what she really wanted.

"That's right. I said anything. I'll try to find it, but it might not exist."

Momoka, a little girl, puffed out her cheeks when she heard her grandfather's words that it might not exist. What Momoka said she wanted, was a Shadow Puppet big enough for her to ride.

Chairman Ohnishi once had investigated Shadow Puppets. The owner of the magic patent was Japanese, but France was the first to set up a Shadow Puppet workshop.

And, France was also advancing the spread of Life Magic. France decided that Shadow Puppets would become a big industry, and began training Life Wizards throughout the country.

Even at the Shadow Puppet workshop in France, which was one step ahead, the size of the Shadow Puppet that could be ordered was up to the size that could be made using 20 kilos of Shadow Clay.

While her mother was soothing Momoka, Chairman Ohnishi headed to the Adventurer's Guild.

"Chairman Ohnishi, I was surprised to hear that you wanted a consultation. Did something happen?"

Director Jikouji greeted Chairman Ohnishi as he got out of the car.

"I'm sorry for surprising you. It's not work, it's a private matter."

Director Jikouji led him to the reception room. Chairman Ohnishi sat on the sofa, and Director Jikouji said,

"What do you mean by private?"

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Chairman Ohnishi leaned forward and asked.

"I heard that the Adventurer's Guild made a large leopard-shaped Shadow Puppet and owns it, is that true?"

Director Jikouji nodded.

"You're talking about the sense-sharing Shadow Puppet. It's called 'Leopard'."

When he took Leopard out of the shadows and showed it to Chairman Ohnishi, he gave him a confused look.

"Is there something wrong with this Leopard?"

"I'm looking for a large Shadow Puppet. Is there anything bigger than this Shadow Puppet?"

Director Jikouji remembered the Bear Shadow Puppet owned by his daughter, and Tamagorou owned by Grimm, his daughter's teacher.

"My daughter has a big Bear Shadow Puppet."

"That, just how big is it?"

"I heard that it was made with 90 kilograms of Shadow Clay."

Chairman Ohnishi made a relieved face.

"Please. Could you introduce me to the workshop that made it, or the creator?"

Due to the promise with Grimm, Director Jikouji couldn't introduce Grimm himself, but instead introduced his daughter.

I moved from my apartment to a Western-style building near the Suigetsu Dungeon. At almost the same time, construction of the warehouse began.

"Taabou, Tamegorou, morning."

After calling out to the Shadow Puppets who were on guard duty during the night, I headed to the living room. Geronta seemed to prefer the outside to the inside, and it stayed in the garden at night.

Komugi was reading a newspaper on the table in the living room.

"Morning."

[ Good morning. It seems that there was a fire in the neighborhood yesterday. ]

"Fu~n, I didn't notice that at all."

I heard the phone ringing, so I picked up the phone. I received a phone call from Ami asking for me to sell 50kg of Shadow Clay mixed with D-Particles. I was going to get a lot of Shadow Clay to create Shadow Puppets to guard the mansion, so I agreed.

[ Grimm-sensei, how many security Shadow Puppets will you make? ]

"That's right. Three of them should be enough."

[ That's too few. There may be people who invade in groups. Let's make about five of them. ]

I decided to make three large cat-shaped Shadow Puppets to keep watch around the garden and fence, and two bear-shaped Shadow Puppets to keep watch around the interior of the Western-style building.

Making them required a large amount of Shadow Clay. I thought I would get it by defeating the ShadowBears in the Raijin Dungeon.

After getting ready, I headed to the Raijin Dungeon. ShadowBears were monsters that lived on the 9th floor. After arriving at the Raijin Dungeon by train and bus, I started exploring.

The 1st and 2nd floors passed without problems. When I went down to the 3rd floor and started walking through the ruins area, I started encountering undead. I encountered three Phantoms at the same time.

I took out the Light Sword Clau and held it with both hands. For three Phantoms the Black Staff would be enough, but there was something I wanted to try.

When I defeated the CyclopsZombie in the Narukami Dungeon, I poured a large amount of magical power into the Light Sword Clau all at once to attack and defeat the giant zombie. At that time, the Light Sword Clau shone like the sun, but I thought that might have been a new function.

I decided to try it. I strong felt that the undead should disappear like that time by pouring a large amount of magical power into the Light Sword Clau. The Light Sword Clau began to emit a strong light.

After trying various things, pouring in a large amount of magical power while being conscious of the image of purifying with light, the 'Light of purification' seemed to overflow from the sword. Not only the Phantom that was about to attack me, but also the nearby SkeletonKnight was shattered into pieces by the light and disappeared.

[ That is amazing power. ]

"For the undead, the Light Sword Clau is sufficient."

However, it consumed a large amount of magical power, so it wasn't a function that I could use often. I put away the Light Sword Clau and proceeded deeper. When I got close to the stairs leading down to the 4th floor, I encountered a TrollZombie.

[ Let's try 'Blow-up Glaive'. ]

I accepted Metis' proposal. Because, I wanted to try it too. The difficulty with this magic was that it couldn't demonstrate its true power unless the distance was accurately measured and the tip hit the monster.

Even if the tip part didn't hit, it should be more powerful than 'High Blade' because it had the characteristic.

However, if I didn't slash with the Glaive's blade, I wouldn't be able to trigger additional effects on monsters. I thought about giving all the D-Particles that made up the Glaive a special effect, but if I used it on a monster that jumped into my bosom, there was a risk of being caught up in the explosion or electrical discharge, so I applied it to only the blade.

As I practiced, I thought about the distance and activated the triple activation 'Blow-up Glaive'. The tip cut through the air and was swung down on to the TrollZombie's shoulder.

The Glaive's blade slashed through the TrollZombie's abdomen, causing an additional electrical discharge and explosion. A bolt of lightning burnt the body of the zombie, and an explosion of D-Particles dismembered it. There was also a large hole in the ground.

I killed the TrollZombie, but I felt that 'Blow-up Glaive' wasn't necessary. High Blade was enough for TrollZombies.
