Episode 219 Sanctuary's Omikuji
I wondered why they looked so happy. The four members of the Hyakka Ryouran Team were clearly excited and seemed to be having fun.
"Why do you look so happy?"
When I asked, Saeki told me.
It seemed that the person who defeated the Mid-boss and four other people could enter the Sanctuary. And, there was a place called the 'Choice Room' inside, where you could draw Omikuji and if you won, you could get a treasure.(TN:Omikuji are those fortune slips people draw at festivals.)
There was a gate that looked like a Torii Gate, and we went under there. It seemed that no one could pass unless the Mid-boss was defeated. The air in the Sanctuary was somehow different. It seemed that just breathing the air there restored magic and physical strength.
It was the air version of the 'Spring of Restoration'. In the center of the Sanctuary was something like a Kamakura snow cave. It was not made of snow, but it was a pure white structure.(TN:Kamakura is a traditional festival involving 'houses' (snow caves) made of snow with an altar inside to make a shrine. You can search 雪洞 if you want to see pictures.)
It was said that you drew lots inside, and a treasure corresponding to the result would appear. The Hyakka Ryouran Team was aiming for the Sanctuary's lottery, and took on the role of the examiner.
I didn't know how it worked, so I decided to have the other four draw lots first. First, Saeki entered the Kamakura and selected one of the 100 sheets of paper pasted on the white wall and pulled it off.
At that moment, the paper changed. Letters appeared on the paper. The word 'Kichi' was written on it.
"Okay, it's 'Kichi'."
Saeki raised her voice happily. It was said that the lottery paper had the words 'Daikichi', 'Kichi', 'Chuukichi', 'Shoukichi', and 'Suekichi' written on it. There were lottery-type treasure chests like this in the dungeons of each country, but it seemed that the results of the lottery were written in the language of the country.(TN: Daikichi/Kichi/Chuukichi/Shoukichi/Suekichi are Great Fortune/Fortune/Average Fortune/Small Fortune/Future Fortune respectively. Not sure why Kichi is listed 2nd instead of 4th.)
The paper Saeki was holding with the word 'Kichi' written on it disappeared, and an advanced healing magic potion appeared.(TN:Fortune.)
"Grimm, thank you."
It seemed that the owner of the treasure obtained in this Sanctuary was the one who drew the lottery. It didn't matter who defeated the Mid-boss.
I was told that the treasure from the lottery was included in the reward for accepting the role of the examiner.
Stolen story; please report.
Next, Matsumoto drew a lottery for 'Shoukichi' and obtained a blue silver knife. Kizaki drew 'Chuukichi' and obtained a scroll of Attack Magic. It seemed to be a scroll of new Attack Magic.(TN:Small Fortune and Average Fortune.)
Toujou excitedly drew the lottery. And, the moment she saw what was written, she fell down on her knees.
"What happened?"
Saeki called out to her worriedly. Toujou had a disappointed look on her face.
"It's 'Suekichi'."(TN:Future Fortune/Fortune in the future.)
Saeki was at a loss for words searching for words of comfort. In the case of 'Suekichi', it seemed like it was a failure.
The 'Suekichi' paper disappeared and a toothbrush appeared. Saeki saw that and gently patted Toujou on the shoulder. Toujou picked up the toothbrush and tried to throw it away.
I stopped her.
"Wait, it might not be a regular toothbrush."
I took out my Appraisal Monocle and appraised the toothbrush. As a result, it was displayed as 'A toothbrush that never spreads its bristles'. It was a Magic Tool.
When I told Toujou about it, she no longer wanted to throw it away, but she still had a subtle expression on her face.
Just before I drew the lottery, I saw a spectacle on which the tension fell. Saeki noticed that I was a little hesitant and gave me some gratifying information.
"I heard that those who defeated the Mid-boss will get 'Shoukichi' or better."
"Is that so."
A little relieved, I entered the Kamakura and started choosing. When I stopped hesitating, I chose the lottery number 7 from the top and number 7 from the right.
The moment the paper was torn off, the letters emerged.
"It's 'Daikichi'!"(TN:Great Fortune.)
I let out a shout of joy. It was worth the effort to defeat the IronDragon.
The paper with 'Daikichi' written on it disappeared, and a longsword in a black scabbard appeared in front of me. Seeing this, Saeki's eyes opened wide.
"It might be a Magic Weapon."
At Saeki's voice, I decided to check with my Appraisal Monocle. When I appraised it, it was displayed as 'Sword of Light: Clau', and it could be seen that it was a sword that could deal great damage, especially against undead monsters.
"Isn't that a great hit? It's a national treasure class Magic Weapon."
Toujou, who had been depressed until just now, raised her voice in excitement. It seemed to be such an amazing treasure sword.
I defeated an IronDragon, a dragon-type monster, so I expected that a Magic Bag-type treasure would come out, but it seemed that just because it was a dragon-type, it didn't necessarily mean that a Magic Bag would come out as a treasure.
But, a Sword of Light for me, a Life Wizard ... it's a bit. Saeki told me that if I let go of it, I would never be able to get it again, so I shouldn't sell it.
Having fulfilled our purpose, we began to return to the surface. After resting in the Sanctuary, my magical power and physical strength had recovered, so the way back was smooth.
We returned to the surface and reported that I had defeated the IronDragon at the Adventurer's Guild. When I showed the white magic stone and the horn as evidence, the word 'Congratulations' came back.
At that moment, the eyes of everyone in the Adventurer's Guild gathered on me. I felt proud and embarrassed.
After saying thank you to Saeki and the others, we parted. After returning to my apartment, I changed my clothes and sat down on the sofa.
"I'm tired. But, now I'm a B-class adventurer."
Becoming a B-class adventurer did not mean that you would be able to do anything special. However, if you made a big achievement, you would be selected as a candidate to become an A-class adventurer.
A-class adventurers were selected by a selection committee working at the Adventurer's Guild General Headquarters in America. In the past, one could unconditionally become an A-class adventurer by defeating one of the five great dragons, but it seemed to be getting tougher these days.
Komugi appeared from my shadow and looked up at me.
[ Congratulations. Next is A-class. ]
I was filled with joy once again when Metis told me such.
A few days later, Kamijou asked me if there were any tips on how to make Shadow Puppets. It seemed that he was helping Saeki and the others. As I had promised to teach, I explained properly.

In a public announcement of the Adventurer's Guild, it was mentioned that the youngest B-class adventurer had appeared. Akagi, a B-class adventurer who saw it, distorted his face.
"If it's a B-class adventurer as a Life Wizard ... I don't like it."
Akagi was a man who was said to be a genius in Attack Magic. However, that was an old story. He was at his peak when he defeated the EarthDragon, and he hadn't done much since.
"What's wrong?"
Iguchi, who was in charge of the vanguard for Akagi's team, called out to Akagi, who was looking at the public announcement with a stern face.
"It's said that an adventurer named Sakaki, a Life Wizard, defeated the IronDragon and became a B-class adventurer. What do you think?"
"That's just for now. If he explores the town on the 6th floor solo, won't he surely die?"
"I see, there was a group of Wraiths over there. It's impossible for just one person to do that."
