The first of the sorcery eyes we ordered from Kiryu, a magic craftsman, was completed for a small flying dragon. Next, he began work on the one for Elmore, but since the order was for one that could handle high-speed combat, it would take some time.
I asked Ami to help me create a flying dragon shadow puppet. Next Saturday, Ami and Arisa will come to the mansion.
Why, Alisa, too?"
I'm here to report that I have completed my dissertation and submitted it to the Magical Agency.
Articles on magic are to be submitted to the Agency for Magic. If they are reviewed by scholars belonging to the Agency and found to be correct and of value, they will be published in the Agency's monthly journal.
'Dr. Grimm, what shadow puppet are you making today?
I asked him to help me, but he reminded me that I never told him what kind of shadow puppet I was going to make.
It's a flying dragon shadow puppet.
The flying dragon type ...... can it fly?"
I don't know. I'm going to try today."
I'll help you.
Arisa also seemed to be interested in the flying dragon shadow puppet. We went to the workroom and began to make shadow puppets using the shadow clay we got from Lindtvurm with D-particles kneaded into it.
I think the shadowclay weighs about three kilograms and is about the size of a hawk. It is heavier than a normal bird, but will it be able to fly? With this concern in mind, Ami and Arisa helped me process the shadow clay.
Since Alisa and Ami had not seen the real thing, I helped them by looking at the Lindtvurm in the demon photo album. Since we did not know their skeletal structure and muscles, we had to imagine them from their appearance.
The most difficult part of this shadow puppet is the wings. For this reason, I had a custom-made stand made and prepared. This is the platform on which the spread wings are placed.
Careful machining is used to create the legs and face of the flying dragon. The eyes and ears, as well as the top of the head, have holes in them. The sorcery eye, sorcery ear, and magic core are embedded there. Finally, a magic battery is embedded in the abdomen.
"Well, it's taking shape."
Alisa turns to me.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
What about color?"
I'm thinking of going all white. This guy is a reconnaissance shadow puppet, so I'd prefer a less conspicuous color, but ...... there are two choices: white or black."
The ceiling areas of dungeons often have a whitish glow, so white is less noticeable than black.
But in the woods, white stands out."
Ami seems to disagree.
I know it depends on where you are. But it's a white dragon. You feel like you're going to get lucky, don't you?"
Alisa, who was listening, laughed at me.
Is Alisa against it?"
No, I think white is fine. It's just that it's funny that the reason is because I think I'm going to get lucky."
So I painted the shadow puppet white. After it dried, I poured the finishing magic power into it. Then, what was only a lump of clay came to life and began to move.
The way it waddles around is somewhat cute. They sometimes move their wings, but do not seem to be able to fly yet. It will take some training for it to be able to fly.
Cute." "Really cute."
Arisa and Ami seemed to find the weakly moving shadow puppet cute. Ami was petting the fragile Shadow Puppet and squealing with delight. You can sense that she likes Shadow Puppets.
Do you have a name picked out?"
Ami asked.
I'll say. Let's go with 'Hakuro.'"
The dewdrops that shine white in the morning light are called "white dew," and the white color of the flying dragon shadow puppet looked like that.
Hakuro's training began that day. After about a week, he was able to move freely, but still could not fly. After five days, he managed to learn to fly.
The trick seemed to be to pour magic power into his wings and flap them as if he were grasping the air with them. Hakuro began to fly over the mansion with a pleasant feeling.
As I call out, Hakuro folds his wings and swoops down, and as he nears the ground, he spreads his wings and begins to glide, landing on my arm.
'Lintwurm is supposed to spit breath, but Haklo can't.'
Metis seems to have been observing Haklo through Elmore's eyes.
Don't be unreasonable. Lindtvulm's breath is a flaming breath, right? I think there must be some kind of trick inside her body.
If it were magic, I don't think you'd need any tricks."
If a shadow species of demon that can do magic is discovered and we create a shadow puppet of it, will it be able to do magic?"
Metis couldn't figure it out either. Now that Hakuro could fly, he decided to go to the dungeon to test the sorcery eye with sensory sharing function, so he headed to the Narukami dungeon.
After moving from the first to the tenth level of the Narukami dungeon, we went to the middle boss room to see if there was some kind of hidden staircase. I thought there was a stairway down to the tenth level in the middle boss's room, but I could not find it when I defeated the Silver Ogre.
Where are the stairs?"
Elmore lifted the treasure chest, which lay empty, and examined it. Nothing. He looked everywhere in the room, but could find nothing.
So it's not in this room. If that's the case, it's outside."
'Why not use Haklo's sensory-sharing feature to investigate?'
I nodded and brought Hakuro out of the shadows. Then, I synchronize my consciousness with the sorcery eye with sensory sharing function built into Hakuro. At that moment, the view that Hakuro is seeing appears in my mind.
Haklo followed the instructions and flew outside. As he flew out of the pyramid exit, he flapped his wings and soared.
Below us we could see the pyramids and the desert spread out around them. As we circled around the pyramid, we saw the Sphinx about five kilometers away.
As you approach, there is an entrance at the sphinx's chest. Haklo descends and lands in front of the entrance. Haklo carefully advances and enters through the entrance.
It was a passageway, perhaps four meters wide and five meters high. As I let Hakuro proceed, I felt a thud, and the image I was watching shook.
As I wondered what it was, I saw three Sougin Golems moving around at the end of the passageway. I moved Hakuro to the wall of the passageway and let him observe the silver golems.
The way the metallic blue heavy-looking body was moving, it looked more like a robot than a golem. I made sure of that much and ordered Hakuro to return. Hakuro returned to the middle boss room and stopped at my arm.
What did you find out?"
I nodded in response to Metis' question.
There is a sphinx about five kilometers from here. There was a passageway there where the Blue Silver Golem dwells."
'Is there a staircase at the end of that passage?'
'We don't know yet, but it's a possibility. Let's find out."
