Episode 37 Weekly magazine
I was a little disappointed. If Gouda said, 'Try to beat me.', I would have happily beat him up, but he seemed afraid and insisted I defeat the Mid-Boss of the Suigetsu Dungeon.
"I'll defeat it before long and prove it."
"Hmph, do your best if you can."
Gouda made fun of me and left. I let out a sigh and decided to go home.
When I returned to my apartment from the academy, I thought about how to capture the fast-moving monsters that Amane and the others asked about. Life Mgic also uses mana, but it is not good at manipulating mana.
Its specialty is manipulating D-Particles. The D-Particles are floating in the air. I thought that if I could capture the movement of the D-Particles, I would be able to solve the problem.
I set up the Sage System and tried to come up with a magic to detect D-Particles. This magic is easy to complete. However, there are countless D-Particles floating in the air. There is no point in just sensing D-Particles in all directions.
So, I thought of magic to measure the concentration of D-Particles. This was surprisingly difficult. I managed to creat a magic that could sense the concentration, but unexpectedly, D-Particles were also accumulated in plants, so the monsters behind plants could not be detected.
After thinking about it, I changed my way of thinking. I tried the method of spreading the super-sensory feeling of D-Particles to the D-Particles floating in the air. When manipulating D-Particles with Life Magic, the basic principle is to spread this super-sense to the surroundings and connect it to D-Particles.
In magic, it is done automatically, so I wasn't very conscious of the super-sense. However, this time the magic was made to only be conscious of super-senses.
I named the Life Magic that was completed 'Sensing Zone'. The range where you could expand your super-senses was about 20 meters in radius. It became a magic that couldn't be learned unless your magic level is '8'.
Also, it's a rare magic for being Life Magic. There was no meaning in multiple activations, and the range of the super-sense increased as the magic level increased. This was because the magic is based on basic super-senses rather than manipulating D-Particles.
The day after the new Life Magic was completed, I went to the Grassland Dungeon. It was to test the 'Sensing Zone'. I changed clothes at the dungeon house and entered the dungeon.

I used the 'Sensing Zone' near the entrance to the dungeon. Super-sense spreads around and connects with D-Particles. I began to feel the movement of D-Particles floating in the air.
It's a strange feeling. I feel like I've become diluted and become gas and spread in the air. But, it's a hallucination, I'm actually walking in the grasslands.
The sights I see, the sounds I heard, and the feeling of the wind blowing are all the same. However, in addition to that, I can feel the movement of the D-Particles.
I can see a Goblin. The moment it entered the 'Sensing Zone', or rather, the effective range of the 'Sensing Zone', I felt the sensation of the D-Particles being pushed away by the Goblin.
"I know where the monster is. But as far as how it moves ..."
This magic takes time to get used to. My head started to hurt. It seems that my brain got tired quickly after having to process a huge amount of unfamiliar information.
I canceled the 'Sensing Zone' and fired a TripleArrow at the approaching Goblin.
"It will take quite some time to get used to it."
I went to the secret passage and hunted the Orcs and Lizardmen while heading to the boss room.
"Oh, it's revived."
The OrcKnight repopped. I hesitated whether to fight or not. However, since I made a sword this month, the contents of my wallet were getting lonely.
"Okay, let's defeat the OrcKnight and get a boss drop."
I entered the boss room holding my Tatakanata in my right hand. The OrcKnight approached with a longsword.
I aimed my left hand at the OrcKnight and fired a QuintJavelin. The QuintJavelin hit the OrcKnight's metal armor and bounced off.
It seemed that the QuintJavelin was unable to penetrate the metal armor. With an angry expression on its face, the OrcKnight got up and ran towards me.
I released a QuintJavelin again. However, the OrcKnight, that sensed its presence, avoided it. It was as clever as ever. It seems that it didn't dodge my first blow on purpose, thinking it would be fine with the metal armor.
It got within five meters and I let out a QuintArrow. The OrcKnight sidestepped to dodge and swung its longsword at me.
"Uwa."
I jumped back to avoid it. At times like this, I regretted that I hadn't learned anything about martial arts.
The longsword attacked me continuously. I managed to avoid it and flipped it away with a QuintPush. I fired a TripleArrow as a follow-up attack. This time it hit. The TripleArrow has a weak presence, so it seems that it didn't notice the presence.
I rushed over to the OrcKnight that had fallen to the ground and swung a QuintBlade down. The QuintBlade cut through the air and hit the OrcKnight's leg, severing its shin guard and the middle of its leg as well.
The OrcKnight let out a scream. It desperately tried to get up, but it staggered. I aimed for its neck and swung a QuintBlade. The OrcKnight's head flew off.
I felt something inside my body emit a thumping sound. I was happy that the magic level of Life Magic had increased, but it turned out to be the magic level of Analysis Magic that had increased.
The OrcKnight's corpse disappeared, leaving only a green magic stone
Green magic stone
After leaving the Grassland Dungeon and changing clothes, I headed to the Adventurer's Guild. There I exchanged the magic stones of Orcs and Lizardmen, the green magic stone
"It's amazing. It's the top result in the F-Class."
Katou, the receptionist, told me when I received the payment.
"Heee, is that so."
"Excuse me, can I have a moment?"
I was called out to from behind, and when I turned around, a woman and a man with a camera were standing there. While tilting my head, I asked about their business.
"I'm Tachibana Kurumi from Shibugami Dungeon. May I interview you?"
Paper-based weekly magazines were on the verge of extinction, but they were revived around the time the dungeons appeared. Recently, there are more and more dungeon-related weekly magazines.
Shibugami Dungeon is a weekly magazine that disseminates information about local dungeons and adventurers centered around Shibugami City. It seems that adventurers around here have subscribed to it.
