Episode 247 Preparing to attack the EarthDragon
While I was excited that I might be able to make a humanoid Shadow Puppet, Metis advised me while reminding me of my original purpose.
[ Before that, it's the EarthDragon. Its defense is lower than that of the FortSpider, but its speed is higher. ]
"It's quick, is it ... That's troublesome."
Looking at the materials, it was said that it also had a breath, which was the characteristic of dragons. This breath was called Stone Breath. However, just because it was an EarthDragon didn't mean it just threw out stones.
It compressed magical power and hardened it like a stone, and spat it out like hail at super high speed. It was powerful enough to pierce the trunk of a tree, and if it hit a human, it would instantly kill them.
"I have to think about how to deal with the Stone Breath."
When I muttered such, Metis' voice echoed in my head.
[ It should be able to be prevented with 'Magnetic Barrier'. However, it is unknown how long it will last. ]
For the time being, it seemed that there was no choice but to block it with 'Magnetic Barrier' and escape with 'Catapult'.
"In that case, it's dangerous if I don't defeat it quickly. I think I can definitely deal damage with 'Direct Bomb', but the problem is whether I can hit the quick EarthDragon."
In that regard, 'Blow-up Glaive' would definitely hit. I started planning a strategy.
[ What are you thinking about? ]
Metis seemed worried because i was deep in thought. I replied in a low voice.
"I was just thinking about how to fight the EarthDragon."
I returned to the investigation of the Akahoshi Dungeon and checked the characteristics of each floor and the monsters that were encountered. The tough ones seemed to be SoldierRex on the 23rd floor and Thornsaurus on the 30th floor.
SoldierRex was a bipedal dinosaur-type with a height of about 2 meters. These monsters acted in packs and had the ability to skillfully coordinate and attack like soldiers. The type that solo adventurers didn't like.
The other, Thornsaurus, was a monster that looked like a hedgehog dinosaur. It was about 4 meters long and shouldered large spines on its back like a pin-holder.

Unfortunately, the Thornsaurus could shoot the spines on its back like arrows from a crossbow. When camping in front of the Mid-boss room, it seemed necessary to be careful of this Thornsaurus.
After investigating the Akahoshi Dungeon, I returned to the mansion.
[ Grimm-sensei, the EarthDragon is a formidable enemy. Just in case, I think you should ready an Escape Ball for use. ]
"Escape Ball, huh, I have the one I got from Kamijou-san. Should I buy another one."
[ I think that's good. ]
After reaching the 30th floor, I should not challenge the EarthDragon right away, but rather take a good rest before entering the Mid-boss room. In order to do that, I would have to camp in front of the Mid-boss room.
On the 30th floor there were powerful monsters, including the Thornsaurus, so camp equipment with high defensive power would be necessary.
It seemed that some adventurers used discarded tanks or used steel boxes to build camp facilities. I was thinking of using the giant turtle shell.(TN:From the giant turtle thing blocking the island stairs.)
It was a shell stronger than steel. If it was a Thornsaurus attack, it would probably block it. I went out to the garden, took out the giant turtle shell from my Storage Armlet and put it on the ground. A small mountain appeared in the garden.
It was stored in a warehouse, but I moved it to my Storage Armlet with the intention of using it to fight the EarthDragon. Bokuden-tachi who were guarding the garden gathered.
They were looking at the shell wondering what was going on. After explaining to Bokuden and the others that it wasn't dangerous, I used the magic of 'D-Jack' to lift one side of the shell. And, I entered the shell.
"It's bigger than I thought."
The space inside felt larger than a six tatami room. When 'D-Jack' was released, the shell fell and the inside became dark. Light and air came in through the parts where the head and legs protruded, but it wasn't enough.
It looked like it would take time to create full-fledged camp equipment using this. Let's use it as it is this time.
"If Tamegorou and the others are there, the camp should be fine."
After confirming the giant turtle shell, I returned to the mansion's living room. Komugi emerged from the shadows and leapt on to the table.
[ You said you were thinking of a strategy against the EarthDragon, but what is it? ]
"Yeah, I think it's best to use 'Blow-up Glaive' or 'Burst Shotgun' to attack the EarthDragon's legs to immobilize it, and then use 'Direct Bomb' to finish it off."
[ Basically, I think it's a good strategy. However, the EarthDragon has Stone Breath. ]
"That's right. How do I attack while avoiding the Stone Breath."
Metis and I talked late into the night.
After that, I spent the next few days thinking about how to capture the Akahoshi Dungeon. And then, judging that the preparations were finished, I headed for the Akahoshi Dungeon.
At the entrance to the Akahoshi Dungeon, something was happening. There was a crowd of people near the entrance, and I could hear loud voices.
I asked an adventurer who seemed to be an onlooker why they were making a fuss.
"It seems that the C-class adventurer Team 'Wolf Group' challenged the EarthDragon and were defeated. It seems that one died and four were injured."
I heard something bad. Because of the bad luck, I seriously considered coming back another time. However, I thought that I was different from the 'Wolf Group', so I changed clothes and entered the dungeon.
[ Don't worry, let's go. ]
"Right. I've prepared enough. And if it gets dangerous, there's the Escape Ball."
Using 'Wing', I passed through the 1st to 5th floors in a short amount of time. Since the 6th floor was a ruined area where Phantoms were, I started to advance on foot. This was because there was a risk of being caught off guard if I encountered a Phantom while flying.
There were cases where when translucent Phantoms were discovered, they got too close and could not be dealt with, and even Attack Wizards who used 'Fly' seemed to avoid using it in areas where Undead appeared.
I defeated the Undead and conquered the 6th floor using the black thoughts staff enchanted with the holy attribute along with Life Magic. I passed through the 7th and 8th floors without any problems, and when I went down to the 9th floor, I had an aerial battle.
The opponent was a Faddon, a kind of pterosaur. This monster had a rounded body and large wings that allowed it to fly gracefully.
This guy's attack method was a fireball. It threw a ball of fire at its opponent.
Riding the D-Particle Wing, I dodged the incoming fireball and activated the double-activation 'Burst Shotgun'. The Faddon, which didn't have much speed, couldn't avoid being hit by the small Detonation Pile.
The Faddon shattered in the air and disappeared. Unfortunately, I decided to give up on the magic stone.
After that, I passed through the 9th floor without incident, arrived at the Mid-boss room on the 10th floor, and decided to camp there.
