Episode 132 Iron Golem
I heard something interesting, so I thought I'd give it a try.
After taking a break and heading to the depths of the 6th floor, we encountered a SkeletonKnight after defeating SkeletonSoldiers.
"I'll try the defeat method that Karina-sensei taught me. Please leave this to me."
The two of them laughed and nodded.
A SkeletonKnight was a skeleton equipped with scale armor, a spear, and a shield. Its spear technique was high, and if you attacked from the front, it would block with a shield.
So, I slammed a QuintPush into its skull from the side. 'Push' was most powerful when pushed straight from the front. The power dropped a little if it was tilted to the side, but it still knocked the skull off.
SkeletonKnights that had lost their skulls seemed to instinctively search for them. I went around behind it and pierced its sacrum with my holy silver dagger imbued with the holy attribute while being cautious.
The SkeletonKnight's body suddenly lost all strength and fell to the ground. Unfortunately, it didn't drop any gold balls this time. It couldn't be helped since it happened once every three times.
Karina looked impressed.
"There was such a way to use 'Push'. I didn't know."
"It seems to be effective against the race called Skeleton."
I tried it again the next time we encountered a SkeletonKnight. The moment I stabbed the holy silver dagger into the sacrum, the bone disintegrated and a gold ball rolled to the ground.
"Ah, it dropped!"
Maria raised her voice. What Karina said was true. But, what kind of person was the adventurer who first discovered this. Under what circumstances did they have to stab a SkeletonKnight's sacrum with a weapon imbued with the holy attribute? The dungeon is profound.
We passed through the 6th floor and descended to the 7th floor. The 7th floor was an area with a sandy desert with a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. According to the map I got from the guild, we had to walk about 3 kilometers to reach the stairs.
In addition, it was a sandy desert with severe ups and downs. Karina and I would be fine, but with Maria's stamina it seemed to be tough. I decided to have Maria ride the D-Particle Wing there.
I activated 'Wing' to bring out the D-Particle Wing and attached the saddle to carry Maria on board.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
"I'm sorry. I'm going to retrain my body from now on."
"If you work as a guild employee, it can't be helped that your body will become dull. But, I agree with retraining."
"Grimm-sensei, even when this child was diving in the dungeon, she was not good at exercising."
"Hee ~, is that so."
Manipulating the D-Particle Wing, I walked through the sandy desert and reached the stairs. The SandWolves and BlueScorpions we encountered on the way were killed instantly.
Since the 8th floor was a swamp area, we had to struggle through the muddy ground. Here Lizardmen and JumboFrogs attacked. Maria also backed us up with a DoubleArrow, but she wasn't much help.
When we went down to the 9th floor, we found a grassland area. Karina killed the ArmorBoars with SeventhBlade. After using Muscle Magic to increase her physical ability, she attacked with a 'Blade' that had a longer reach than a longsword. It was brilliant.
"Life Magic goes well with a Muscle Wizard."
Karina said such. The blue silver longsword she held in her hand was about 120 centimeters long and seemed quite heavy. She swung it around so effortlessly, it was a big deal.
"But, if you're going to attack with Life Magic, shouldn't you use a dagger instead of a longsword?"
"You might think so, but a dagger makes me a little uneasy."
Contrary to the C-class adventurer Kamijou, it seemed that she became uneasy if her weapon was short. She must have spent a long period of time fighting with a longsword.
After taking the shortest route to the 9th floor, we descended to our destination, the 10th floor. It was a maze. Moreover, the monsters we encountered were SmallGolems. As soon as we entered the maze, we encountered a SmallGolem.
"I'm troubled. To defeat these guys, I need to use 'Stab Plus' and 'Power Tank'. But I have to save my magic power for the Mid-boss battle."
Karina raised her voice worriedly.
"Then, I will finish them."
"There will be a Mid-boss battle. Will your magic power be okay?'
"If I make a hole in the center of the chest, I should be able to kill them with one blow."
I let it approach to 5 meters and then fired a QuintPileShot at the SmallGolem's chest. The D-Particle Pile hit the chest and penetrated. The D-Particle Pile that popped out from the back of the SmallGolem stuck in the maze behind it and stopped.
"I didn't need to use Quint."
A QuadPileShot seemed to have been enough. After that, I killed the SmallGolems we encountered with a QuadPileShot and proceeded.
"Grimm-sensei, is that Life Magic different from 'Heat Shell'?"
Karina asked.
"This is a magic called 'Pile Shot'. Unfortunately, it's a magic that can be learned at magic level 11, so I don't think Karina-sensei-tachi will be able to learn it."
"Is that so. That's disappointing."
Karina and Maria looked really disappointed, so I decided to create a degraded version.
That being said, we arrived in front of the Mid-boss room.
"This seems to be the Mid-boss room. Let's proceed carefully."
When I went inside, I felt a thud and the ground shook. In the center of the room was an IronGolem with a total length of about two and a half meters.
Perhaps because it's made of iron, it looked more like a robot than a golem as it approached while causing tremors.
I instructed Karina to attack with SeventhThunderBowl and Maria to attack with DoublePush.
Karina boosted her physical abilities with 'Power Tank', moved swiftly around the IronGolem and unleashed a SeventhThunderBowl, while Maria timidly unleashed a DoublePush.
Karina's SeventhThunderBowl did a little damage, but Maria's DoublePush didn't seem to do any damage at all.
"Is it okay like this. It doesn't seem to work at all."
Maria raised her voice anxiously.
"It's my job to finish it off, so please leave it to me."
In order to check the IronGolem's strength, I hit it sideways with a SeventhHighBlade. The D-Particle Blade hit the iron chest and made a high-pitched metallic sound, knocking the heavy giant body of the IronGolem over.
Karina and Maria took the opportunity to land another SeventhThunderBowl and a DoublePush. It looked like it would take some time for the IronGolem to stand up, so I started preparing a 'Heat Shell'.
"I'm going to release a 'Heat Shell' now."
After declaring that to the two of them, I activated the SeventhHeatShell. A D-Particle Shell with a copper ring inside hit the standing IronGolem's chest and spewed out a metal jet.
The explosion that occurred along with the metal jet eruption hit us with a shockwave. While retreating, I confirmed the state of the IronGolem.
The IronGolem was lying on the ground and weakly struggling. There was a large crack and hole in its chest. When the IronGolem twisted its body, I saw a metal sphere inside the hole.
It seemed that this was the heart of the IronGolem. Karina took the opportunity and fired a SeventhArrow, destroying the sphere. It seemed that it finished it. The iron giant disappeared, and Karina and Maria raised their voices. It seemed that their magic level had risen.
Karina's magic level had increased to 8, while Maria's magic level had increased by two to 4.
I changed my perception that the IronGolem's defensive power was one level higher than the SteelLizard's.
