Episode 192 Battle with the Wyvern
The Wyvern seemed to have noticed me. It flew in a straight line towards my location. I had two options: fight or flee. I had achieved my goal, so I could have run away, but I decided to fight.
I wanted to confirm the strength of the Wyvern. I activated 'Boomerang Wing' to transfer. It was difficult because I had to temporarily control two things.
After canceling the magic of 'Wing', I flew towards the Wyvern. I used to call the flying object formed by 'Boomerang Wing' an Inverted V-Wing, but it seemed better to call it a Combat Wing.
Because 'Boomerang Wing' was only used during battle. This was because it consumed a lot of magical power. If I used it casually, it was a magic with bad fuel consumption.
I passed the Wyvern in the air. At that moment, I activated 'Multiple Attack'. Small D-Particle Piles shot out like a shotgun and pierced the Wyvern's huge body.
The Wyvern screamed in the air. It shouldn't have been a large amount of damage, but it must have been painful. The Wyvern made a sharp turn and seemed to be trying to take a position behind me.
I made a quick turn and ran away. I felt something approaching from behind and flew upwards. Compressed air exhaled from the Wyvern's mouth passed below my body.
The Wyvern used magic. After somersaulting in the air, I got behind the Wyvern. Then, I immediately activated 'Thunder Sword'. The D-Particle Thunder Sword flew and chased the Wyvern.
The D-Particle Sword caught up with the Wyvern, and the D-Particles in front were converted into free electrons and emitted. A dragon-like lightning bolt bit the Wyvern.
The high-voltage electric current that ran through the Wyvern's body from where it was bitten burned the monster's heart and gave it a fatal injury.
The Wyvern crashed into the ground while writhing.
"It didn't turn into a magic stone. It's a tough monster."
I swooped down and tried to land the final blow. When I approached, I noticed that the Wyvern didn't even move.
"No way."
I landed near the Wyvern. I carefully approached the Wyvern and checked if it was alive or dead.
[ It looks like it's dead. It's a Dungeon Error. ]
It had been a long time since I had gotten a Dungeon Error. Wyverns occasionally dropped skins, but the chances of getting a Dungeon Error should be very low.

"Can you eat Wyvern meat?"
[ Yeah, you can eat it. Wyvern deep-fried meat and Fried Chicken are said to be delicious. ](TN:Dunno why it's Engrish 'Furaido Chikin', guess they consider Wyverns to be big chickens.)
"Let's take the whole thing back."
[ That's good. In particular, the magic bones in the Wyvern's throat seem to be used as materials for Magic Tools. ]
Wyverns seemed to be able to use magic thanks to those magic bones.
I put the Wyvern corpse into the storage armlet. After that, I went closer to see the thing that looked like a pyramid, but it seemed to be a Wyvern nest.
After witnessing several Wyverns flying away from the pyramid, I decided to turn back.
I returned to the surface and went to the Adventurer's Guild, and reported to the reception that I had descended to the 4th floor of the Narukami Dungeon.
"It's amazing. To be the first at such a young age."
The receptionist, Katou, complimented me. Adventurers were gathering behind me, listening intently to hear what I was reporting.
When they heard that I defeated a Wyvern and got a Dungeon Error, the adventurers behind me were shocked.
"Is that true. Let's go around the back."
There was a special place behind the guild. It was a facility for dismantling monsters that caused a Dungeon Error. When an employee capable of dismantling was called, the Branch Chief also came to watch.
"Grimm-kun, you really found the stairs to the 4th floor. Well done."
"I was lucky. There was a big turtle in the middle of the island, so I was curious."
"It's not just luck. You defeated the TankTurtle, didn't you. I've heard that it's difficult to break through its defenses."
That giant turtle was said to be a monster called 'Tank Turtle'. It was said that it was first sighted in a Japanese dungeon. It lived in an advanced dungeon in the United States, but if people encountered a TankTurtle, they were told to run away without fighting.
When I took out the Wyvern corpse from the storage armlet and laid it on the floor, the adventurers watching cheered.
"Wyvern, is it, it's huge. It's the first time I've seen it."
Such voices could be heard from here and there. I sold the corpse to the Adventurer's Guild. However, I would have the meat separated for myself.
I asked the deep-fried specialist shop I often went to to have Wyvern meat fried. I put the large amount of deep-fried food in my Magic Pouch, I distributed it to the people of the Adventurer's Guild that I was always indebted to and my disciples at the magic academy.
"It's very delicious."
"This deliciousness is not half-hearted."
Alisa and the others were overjoyed.
Everyone who ate it was overjoyed. I ate it too, but it was a different level of deliciousness than normal deep-fried poultry. It seemed that the meat dismantled at the Adventurer's Guild was transported to high-class restaurants, Japanese restaurants, and even overseas, where it was eaten by the rich.
For some reason, Wyvern meat became a newspaper article, and I became famous for a while as a Life Wizard who defeated a Wyvern. I had also defeated a FireDrake, which was more formidable than a Wyvern, but ...
Although there were some points that I was not convinced of, the world had come to know a little about the existence of Life Wizards who were active in advanced dungeons.
Was it because of that. I was surprised to see the list of registered magic license fees that came from the Magic Agency. The license fees had increased tenfold. It seemed that enough money had been transferred to my bank account to live on the license fee alone.
By the way, the license fee for Shadow Puppets was not yet included in this license fee.
When I was sitting on the sofa in my apartment and looking at the statement from the Magic Agency, Metis took Komugi out of my shadow.
[ Grimm-sensei, may I turn on the television? ]
"Yeah, I don't mind."
When the TV turned on, it was reporting that Wiseman Rodford of England had passed away.
This Wiseman was a Sage of Analysis Magic, and had published numerous Analysis Magics, contributing greatly to their development. However, the magic level that could learn the magics created by this Sage was '9' or lower.
The British government recognized Rodford as a boy and protected him as a Sage. Because of that, Rodford's free movement was restricted, and it seemed that he rarely went out to explore dungeons or go out.
Because of that, his magic level didn't rise, and he couldn't develop high-performance Analysis Magic.
"I would hate that kind of life."
[ I agree. However, the death of the only Sage of Analysis Magic in the world is serious. ]
I understood what she meant. The Sage of Analysis Magic was the first person to analyze the scrolls found in the dungeon. When a scroll was found in a dungeon, it was appraised with 'Item Analyze'.
If you couldn't figure it out, you could leave it to an Analysis Wizard to investigate. At that stage, 70% of it was revealed, but if you really wanted to know the contents of the remaining 30%, you would ask Wiseman Rodford to investigate.
The Analysis Magic Sage System seemed to have the ability to analyze all magic, not just Analysis Magic.
