Episode 28 Orc Knight

I try a new magical simulation using the Sage System. It took me two days to experiment and optimize. The resulting magic became a magic that shoots a one-meter-long D-particle cone. The range is a little shorter, 19 meters.

It's about a meter shorter because it's now available at magic level 5. If I set the range to 20 meters, you can only learn it at magic level 6.

I was particular about magic level 5 because I was thinking about the magic level of Amane and her friends. Their magic level is '4', and if they train in the giant tree dungeon a little more, it will be '5'.

In order for them to play an active role with life magic, they need not only 'Cone Arrow' but also 'Blade' and the new magic. For me, as the last job as a temporary teacher, I thought about telling them 'Blade' and the new magic.

By the way, the new magic was named 'Javelin'.

I thought I'd try it out, but I remembered that I couldn't use the training ground of the academy anymore.

"It can't be helped. I'll go to the grassland dungeon."

I enter the grassland dungeon and head towards my right. I met other adventurers along the way, but they were so absorbed in the fight against an Attack Boar that they didn't seem to notice.

I found a rare place with trees in the grassland dungeon, and I tried 'Javelin'. I shoot a normal 'Javelin' at a tree about 15 meters away.

The initial speed is the same as that of 'Cone Arrow', but at 15 meters, it is much higher than the final speed of 'Cone Arrow'. However, when it hit the trunk of the tree, it shattered.

"Well, that's right. It's a thin D-particle cone."

I continue by shooting DoubleJavelin. It flew at a considerable speed, hit the trunk of a tree, and shattered as well. If I look closely, there is a hole in the hit area.

When I fired a TripleJavelin, a hole of considerable depth was opened. Next, I activate the quintuple activation 'Javelin'. When QuintJavelin hits the trunk of the tree, it penetrated the trunk and made a large hole.

I tried to activate it six times, but I couldn't. It seems that the limit is up to quintuple activation if it is unfamiliar magic.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

"Well, I developed it with the goal of extending the range, so the power didn't increase more. Is it about twice as much as 'Cone Arrow'?"

After trying 'Javelin', I thought about what to do. I'm here, so I'll go to the secret passage and hunt the Orcs and Lizardmen on the way in.

I go to the rock and look around. Make sure noone is there, and go inside. The moment I entered, I encountered an Orc.

"Wow!"

I reflexively released a TriplePush.

The Orc falls down. I calmed down my surprised and fluttering heart, and then fired a TripleArrow at the Orc's neck.

"I was surprised. There is something like this. I have to be careful from now on."

After reflecting on it, I went deeper. The Orcs and Lizardmen encountered along the way were slahsed with a QuadBlade.

The 'Blade' that is activated with quadruple activation requires a momentary accumulation. The reason why I use such a QuadBlade so much is that my current task is to eliminate the delay before quadruple activation.

I reached the front of the boss room. I came here to see if there was still an Orc Knight.

When I looked inside, an Orc Knight stood there. Suddenly, I wondered what would happen if I attacked the Orc Knight from outside the room.

Attraced by that idea, I raised my hand towards the Orc Knight. I turn my palm and shoot QuintJavelin. QuintJavelin disappeared the moment it entered the boss room, and I was thrown into the boss room by some force.

"You're kidding."

The dungeon doesn't seem to allow injustice. The eyes of the Orc Knight met mine. The Orc Knight pulled out the longsword at its waist and approached.

You can't escape once the battle in the boss room begins. So I made up my mind and fired QuintJavelin again. This time, it flew to the Orc Knight and hit its durable metal armor with a loud metallic sound.

The Orc Knight's armor was dented. Its face was also distorted in pain. Quit Javelin seems to have done some damage. The distance from the Orc Knight was 10 meters, and I shot another QuintJavelin.

The formation of D-particles is colorless and transparent, but when they are activated multiple times, they have a presence for some reason. However, until the triple activation, the monsters don't notice because their presence is not strong.

It seems that monsters with sharp intuition will notice when it becomes more than quadruple activation. The Orc Knight noticed the QuintJavelin that I had just released. And it not only noticed, but avoided it.

I can't believe it. Is it not only strong but also intuitive?

The moment the Orc Knight approached 5 meters, I activated the SeventhArrow, a seven-layered 'Cone Arrow'.

SeventhArrow hits the metal armor covered chest and knocks down the Orc Knight. I hold up my Hunting Sword and run up to the side of the fallen Orc Knight, activating the quadruple activation 'Blade'.

A QuadBlade was created, which was swung down at high speed. The blade of D-particles, which was swung down towards the neck of the Orc Knight, was hit like with a longsword and bit into its neck about 5 cm.

Blood spilled from the neck of the Orc Knight. However, the Orc Knight stood up and attacked with a terrible appearance. I dodge its longsword slashes.

As I ran around the room, I continued to fight back with SeventhArrow and SeventhPush. After several counterattacks, the Orc Knight collapsed and desperately tried to get up.

However, the blood that spilled from its neck robbed the Orc Knight of its power. When I saw it staggering as it tried to stand up, I jumped in and swung a QuadBlade sideways and decapitated it.

I defeated the Orc Knight. The reason why I was able to defeat what even E-class adventurers had a hard time with may be because the Orc Knight hadn't fought for a long time and had a dull intuition.

I felt something inside my body emit a thumping sound. My magic level rose. The corpse of the Orc Knight disappeared, leaving a green magic stone , two Holy Silver Arm Guards, and a Holy Silver Dagger.

Holy Silver is a slightly reddish silver metal found in dungeons that is far stronger than steel and has the property of benig able to easily pass magical power.

I've heard that a Holy Silver Dagger has a blade length of about 30 cm and will go for about 30 million yen if sold. Maybe the Arm Guards have a similar market price.

There is a theory that the boss drop becomes more luxurious as the dungeon boss is not defeated for a longer period of time. The fact that such a valuable boss drop remains is evidence that the dungeon boss has not been defeated for a long time.

Should I seel this? Two will go for 60 million yen. But ... I may never get such great equipment again. Hmm ... It's an annoying problem.
