The large hand tensed up slightly before a blurry shadow shot up from the hole, landing beside it. There stood a creature that towered like a giant. As it looked around, its breath emitted an intense heat from its nostrils causing steam to form with each breath. The most notable aspect of this creature was the large, spiky crystal mass on its back emitting a heavy purple hue and glow.
“Massterr!!...” the creature shouted out towards Avrin, causing the ground to faintly vibrate at its voice. This creature was Tardiff’maras. Avrin glanced at a little ashamed because he had forgotten about it. He intended to visit them after some time passed but because his progress was quite efficient and he was too busy with his tasks and looking for ways to create and change things it was pushed out of his mind.
Though the sound of footsteps sounded out as Ilisia came down the steps calling out with surprise. “Mister Avrin, what was that….AHH MONSTER!!” She looked at Tardiff and screamed. Tardiff glanced back at her and frowned, he felt somewhat hurt at being called a monster.
“Noot….monster!!...” he shouted, his body tensed up slightly before he flickered and vanished with such speed it was astonishing for someone of his size. He appeared behind Ilisia who looked up at him. She was so frightened her little face paled and she fainted on the spot. Tardiff reached down towards her.
“What do you think you're doing?...” Avrin’s voice caused the entire space to tremble and Tardiff froze. He glanced at Avrin seeing a single right eye glancing at him through the eye hole of the mask. Around Avrin, Nebula Mist surging somewhat like a fire so hot it caused a ripple.
“Ahn..thiis….master’s frieendd...sorry….” Tardiff quickly stepped back. It didn't intend to hurt Ilisia, it was just a bit hurt that it was called a monster. Avrin stood up and appeared next to Ilisia as he reached down and carried her in his arms. He walked over as Nebula Mist formed around the ground into a large pillow that he laid her on. He then turned to look at Tardiff who trembled and was poking his fingers together.
“Treat this girl and her grandmother upstairs well. In fact, treat every person you see well unless I say otherwise. You need to learn to control yourself.” Avrin couldn't blame Tardiff and didn't want to hurt him. It was now part of his race and it didn't know any better. It hadn't gotten much smarter by the looks of it, this worried Avrin more than Ilisia fainting.
“Foorgivee….” Tardiff spoke before sitting on its butt and gave an excited look as it glanced around. “Maaster’s hoome?...” it spoke out. Avrin was glancing down at the ground. His Divine Sense had extended for a monstrous 50,000 kilometres. Avrin had previously been able to extend his Divine Sense across the entirety of Seleria, but this was the first time since regaining his full power that he extended it out as far as he could. He wasn't sure what to think of the situation, he wanted to laugh. This was because his Divine Sense was probably just under 9.8% of this planet's entire circumference, it made him wonder just how large planets could be. Each universe had a different set of laws and energy so he had already mentally prepared himself to see planets as large as the sun. Then again, he felt it shouldn't be a surprise because he had seen how large Orphelium was.
Avrin could see the entire tunnel that Tardiff had gone through. In fact, Avrin could see thousands of other creatures within the tunnel. Avrin’s expression changed as he carefully looked at these creatures’ details. They were no doubt the ant things that he had seen before, but their body structure had changed somewhat.
They seemed more humanoid. Their legs were only slightly bent and they boasted a carapace on the outside in the shape of a more humanoid body. Their arms were somewhat thicker and more human-like but had several spikes sticking out. And each arm had a long blade-like appendage where Nebula Mist was surging out from towards the ground causing it to disintegrate, they have clearly adapted their method of digging.
“-One….two…. six-hundred-thousand of them…..all converted….-” Avrin felt his body tremble to a degree. He could feel the underground system and the complex array of tunnel systems that led incredibly deep. Truthfully, Avrin couldn't completely feel the depth of the planet.
His Divine Sense stopped at thirty-thousand below as he couldn't bring it down anymore but he knew this planet's depth was most likely between seventy-thousand or eighty-thousand kilometres, yet these converted ants had actually managed to reach a depth of four hundred kilometres. The tunnels themselves were somewhat interestingly maintained. These ants, after digging through, would coat the walls of the tunnel in a liquid substance that was dark matter yet it would solidify like metal. It helped keep the tunnel stable.
“This time was my fault Tardiff, but you all have done well. Your task was successful by the looks of it. The resistance you met must have been quite large if only six-hundred-thousand of them remain.” Avrin said. Tardiff tilted his head. He remembered it clearly, it truly was a battle. Yet with him on the spectral side he decimated all of them and not only did the ants at the main nest want to attack him they wanted to eat him alive, though the elderly ant that had been converted told Tardiff that if the queen was converted or perished then the rest of the nest will crumble.
Leading a small group of these ants towards the queen's nest was easier said than done for Tardiff. He had to constantly keep on his feet and keep killing those that attacked them until they finally reached the lowest part of the nest. The queen herself was as large as him and an ugly creature.
She could not be convinced by the elderly ant, this was because as the queen she had only the most basic of instincts and lacked most intelligence. She only needed to be fed and to make more ants. She considered anything else as hostile forces and even treated Tardiff and the converted ants as food.
Tardiff didn't bother holding back, he completely destroyed the area and not even the queen was able to stand up to him. When he made his way over to her she intended to spray him with an acid but he simply punched her head causing it to explode and that was the instant the rest of the near mindless ants were shocked and unsure what to do. The elderly ant took advantage of the situation to rally them all together.
When Tardiff finished explaining what had happened, it began to think. “Mmm….something else…..forgot…...found something…..” Tardiff began rubbing his head as he tried to remember, Avrin glancing at Tardiff suddenly turned to look at the hole he came from and then spoke towards it. “Stop hiding yourself and tell me what is it you both found…” Avrin’s voice echoed within the lit chamber.
Another shadow shot up with incredible speed towards Avrin before landing several meters in front of him. This ant’s appearance was different to the others, it's entire humanoid body was a full metallic carapace with a purple and black lustre. It even had detailing such as abs and biceps. The creature's head had four winged horns, two punishing to the front and two pushing back. On its forehead, two long, black antennae scuttled about. The ant itself also had black, shoulder-length hair. Its face was incredibly human-like, with only the parts where the flesh connected to the carapace head portion looking a bit odd.
The creature's eyes were also identical to a human’s except there were no pupils, just two glowing purple orbs. The creature's arms were both a meter long and somewhat thick. It had two large claw-like hands, and it's legs were human except curved somewhat. It also retained that bottom ant bump on it's lower backside and it had two half meter lumps on it's back with darkened slits. If one looked closely they would see the faint edge of a pair of thin folded insect wings. The creature also had a long black beard and an aged look yet still retained a dangerous appearance. It was kneeling in front of Avrin with great respect.
“Great one….” It spoke with as much respect as it could in its heavy tone. It was speaking in clear English, the reason being that it was much simpler than the other languages that it was given in the Sphere of Knowledge.
Avrin glanced at the creature carefully and then noticed the staff in its hand. This was the same one the elderly ant had before he converted it. “Oh, it's you. It seems your conversion was smooth. Do you have a name?”
The ant looking at Avrin felt deeply nervous. It was quite strong already, it was at the early Master level and definitely needed some work. The first month where it and Tardiff were rampaging throughout the ant nest to get to the main chamber of the queen they took the ant had been the one responsible for converting all the other ants to the specifics Avrin had given it in the Sphere of Knowledge, it needed to maintain order and was more intelligent than Tardiff.
It had made sure to convert four other ants to a position equivalent to the Baron title in the Spectral rankings. It then made ten ants with the rankings of Arch Knights and then went ahead and made conversion cores enough for one-thousand Knight Spectrals. The rest were all Squires.
It didn't dare convert anything else other that, that was because it knew of the restriction placed on conversion, but he had restricted conversion greatly. The only Spectrals that could freely convert were Avrin himself, Tardiff and this ant. “Ailirion….mighty great one...my name is Ailirion.”
“Good...I guess I need to make a gift as a welcoming present for you. That being said, let me handle some things first.” Avrin raised his finger towards Ailirion and the Spectral ant’s body trembled slightly as it's particles were shifted and changing with a sort of lock. It knew that from here on out it would no longer be able to convert.
“You truly went all out, though I hope you won't hate me for locking conversion. It once caused a great catastrophe to my….well, to our people.” Avrin spoke in a straightforward manner. His reason for doing this was for their own good. “Great one...this lowly ant understands…”
Avrin frowned a little. He felt Ailirion may have a sort of inferiority complex, this wasn't good, though as he was about to speak Tardiff said “Maaster….I ….deservee….giifft...too?..” Avrin glanced at Tardiff who tried his best to look miserable to get some sympathy from Avrin.
“You scared my little friend, so no there will be no gift for you..” Avrin teased the giant somewhat. Follow me both of you. Avrin walked back over to the platform as he began to create sigil weapons again, though this time he took 5 unclouded crystals and glanced at them carefully,
Dark matter began to surge out from Avrin's right hand towards the 5 unclouded crystals, they began to form and congeal around them before covering them completely, the dark matter then shot upward and downwards from above and below the points of where these crystals were covered, the surge was neat in a cylindrical shape, from there it began to form two blade heads one at the top of the shape and one at the bottom, the entire form of dark matter began to shift and turn as it was being changed at every second.

Tardiff and Ailirion were glancing with reverence towards Avrin, they didn't know what he was doing but they felt the amount of energy in the dark matter he had formed, it was so much so that if they were to combine both their energies together they would only be able to amount to 10% of it.
Avrin's expression of course flickered faintly this would be the strongest sigil weapon he formed, the reason he used 5 unclouded crystals was because he wanted to see this weapon improve, and it would also test himself, he had almost lost control a few times as the crystals were almost devoured by the dark matter which would make its evolution progress much slower, though this weapon was a simple placeholder for Ailirion, when he had the time he would have another one made. Avrin looked forward to giving the sigil creation method to Eitri he felt that with that dwarves skill and talent he could figure out a much more efficient and better way of forming sigil weapons.
The process had taken 5 minutes but when the residue of the dark matter dissipated a double sided glaive was hovering in the air, both the blade heads were transparent and somewhat crystal clear, they radiated a faint aura of dark matter, and in the middle section of the glaives shaft all 5 of the unclouded crystals were barely visible, there were also two grips for Ailirion to hold the glaive, the weapon was quite long and with Ailirion's height and reach it should be great for him.
“Great one…” Ailirion quickly knelt down as he felt incredibly happy as he knew this weapon was made for him. Tardiff, of course, glanced over somewhat jealous. “Give….weapon for mee….” Tardiff uttered.
Ailirion glanced behind towards him with a frown. “Greedy creature…..you want a weapon after devouring so many ores and minerals! Go bash your head against the enemy it's surely as solid as a hammer!” Tardiff's body trembled from anger at being teased but when it remembered all the ores and crystals it had eaten as well as the many many corpses of the ants it had converted into dark matter, it gave a somewhat weird giddy look.
“Have you found any lucent crystal deposits yet?.” Avrin spoke. Ailirion and Tardiff both glanced at him, the glaive hovered down towards Avrin's hands to which he began to weigh it and test it in a slow manner. “Great one….this ant has already failed you….we have not found anything that resembles a lucent crystal deposit….we lack knowledge on where they may form…”
Avrin gave a calm expression, he already knew where several deposits were after he's thousand of kilometre divine sense scan, he would have gone himself but they were not in tunnels and were quite literally buried surrounded by dirt, Avrin opened his hand as a small sphere of knowledge began to form, it contained coordinates to the closest lucent crystal mines around them, he casually tossed the sphere to Ailirion who knew what it was. Ailirion didn't hesitate before his mouth opened to reveal sharpened mandible like teeth and in one go he swallowed the sphere of knowledge, his body trembled for a moment before the information came to his mind.
“It will be done great one…” with the sphere of knowledge Avrin simply detailed which one's he wanted to be mined first, and he ordered that the ores at the rare and high-quality level were not to be devoured but stockpiled for him.
“Good, Tardiff you're task is a bit different, the lucent crystals mined from these deposits, I want you to create sigil weapons, have a few thousand of your brethren assist you. I want as many of you armed as possible.” Avrin again formed another sphere of knowledge detailing the best and most efficient ways he knew of to form sigil weapons; When he tossed it towards Tardiff, the big creature moved its head and in one go, gulped it down before giving a slight burp, but when the information came to its head it frowned a little.
“Boooring!!...” it argued. Avrin also frowned as he looked at it. “That matters not to me, oh yes, any lucent crystals higher than unclouded are to be stockpiled as well, I do not want any devoured, in fact, Tardiff you're banned from where these materials will be stockpiled you eat as much as that buffoon Asura.”
Tardiff was a little disappointed being compared to Asura as he felt he was much stronger and could eat more. “Hmmmmm….not dumb lion thing…” it mumbled to itself before standing up and walking towards the giant hole it made.
“Ailirion, keep an eye on him and when enough has been gathered simply have it all delivered into this chamber. “ Avrin passed the dark matter sigil glaive to Ailirion who graciously accepted it.
“Mr….Avrin?...” Ilisia leaned up as she was rubbing her eyes. “You better go” Avrin spoke to Ailirion who nodded before turning into a flicker of darkness before he vanished back into the hole.
“I'm here...” Avrin spoke as he glanced at Ilisia with a thoughtful expression, Ilisia who had woken up suddenly remembered the giant creature, she looked around quickly as if to find it she had an urgent worrying look. “Huh?....w..where's the monster?...” her words seemed to contain a full trace of fear, Avrin knew eventually she would find out about them so he didn't bother to hide much. “That wasn't a monster, he was one of my followers, he was a little hurt that you called him a monster, but don't worry he won't harm you, he went back to go continue his work, so remember the next time you see him or others with him, try to be polite”
Ilisia looked at Avrin from where she was seated on the large pillow, she had an odd look. “Mr. Avrin can make things like that his followers?....so cool…I wonder when I can learn amazing magic like you.”
She realised where she was sitting and that she had fainted her cheeks reddened as she felt a little embarrassment, she hopped to her feet and looked at Avrin who was speeding up the sigil creation process as he had fallen behind somewhat. “We will see…” he wasn't sure at all what to do when it came to Ilisia, Calomia's words were still in his mind, he treated her more delicately than Kael. But, Kael wanted to get stronger and made sacrifices and pursued it to change himself, Ilisia, on the other hand, was more fragile and didn't know much about the world, he would prefer until she understood more before doing so after all to his knowledge once one was converted there was no way to convert them back.
A sudden sound of footsteps came down as Calomia appeared with a frown on her face she began to call out. “Little troublemaker hurry up I need your help..” she glanced at Ilisia than at Avrin before shaking her head, she noticed the hole in the ground but thought nothing of it other than thinking Avrin may be renovating a bit again.
“Yes grandma…” Ilisia sighed and then ran back up to follow Calomia. Outside of shaded moon was much tidier than before, Avrin had made a path that went from the entrance to the main dirt road and even placed a metal signboard stating what the large building was. Several carriages could be seen carrying mercenaries and excited adventurers who had heard about shaded moon from their comrades or by word of mouth, some were on their way to pick up their goods others were here to look at what was the talk about or to make first time orders.
A dozen or so individuals could be seen going back and forth carrying small chests that contained their goods. And if one thought carefully about it the situation seemed a bit too innocent for a place that sold weaponry and a device that could explode out with a large spike to kill a creature or person.
Avrin had a lot to think about. Tonight he would finally take the step forward and use his amassed energy to upgrade his particles, and then he would have to figure out a way to create the object that would help him to mass produce sigil weapons. If he could figure this out, then he would have a lot more time to spend on different matters.
A few hours later within the large lobby area of the shaded moon, Calomia was currently looking at many parchments that littered her desk while speaking to a few customers. She used the kindest tone she could, as to not scare them off. Then again, she was at ease, because no one here seemed to cause trouble especially since they offered prices cheaper than other establishments and the product quality was even better.
“Perfect, the order of 2 unclouded sigil weapons and 4 haze crystal sigil weapons should be completed after tomorrow in the morning, the price comes to…” While she was speaking to the customer, three figures came inside the building. One was the old man who was in charge of the Artificer Consortium branch, another was Galum who was wearing a set of clothing similar to the other man who had a clean shaven face with brown hair with a small ponytail. This man had eagle-like eyes, and his strength was quite fierce, he was a mid-level grandmaster and also Galum's teacher.
“I... isn't that Artificer Meutin… what is he doing here?...” one of the people noticed the three of them and finally spoke to another, of course, their voices were heard and now many people were looking and recognising them
“Oh... boy this won't end well I'm telling you…” a brawny man laughed quietly as he folded his arms while speaking to his comrades, he could tell something was going to go down by the cold angered expression on Meutin the old man's face.
Calomia raised her head and noticed the talk and commotion. When she looked at the three she cringed slightly as the words artificer came to her ear. “-that boy Avrin predicted that these people would come eventually, it's a bit later than he thought they must have finally gotten stung hehehe-” she though referring to the fact that their business had taken somewhat of a hit.
“Grandma what's an arti...ficer?..” Ilisia who carried several parchments was glancing at Calomia with a curious expression she clearly had no knowledge of who the three were. Calomia looked at Ilisia and reached over to gently pat her head, “go tell Avrin that three people from the Artificer Consortium are here and by the looks of it don't mean well”
Ilisia gave a stern expression as she nodded before rushing off with the parchments in hand, Meutin, Galum, and his mentor were walking towards the reception desk, no one dared to get in their way so much so that the customers who were already there were scared stiff and stepped aside, meutin than glanced at Calomia with a cold look. “So this is the shaded moon, I must say I'm a little impressed such an interesting design very very good, though I'm a little disappointed it seems to lack the essence and character of a crafting place for sigils...it has no soul...as expected of a place where cheap imitations are made…”
“Cheap imitations?..” one person spoke while another also asked in surprise. “What does he mean?..are these things real or fakes?...” Calomia's brows furrowed, she knew Meutin was sowing seeds of doubt to try and ruin them.
