V4: Chapter Chapter 126 Complete Catastrophe

IMPORTANT

please read the spoiler its a bit of a long read

Spoiler :

so i have good news and neutral news  bad news!.

the good news is, a site update! woo finally i we are closing in on V3! and on that long awaited surprise i have been planning.  its going to take a bit of getting used to but ill manage, though a few features are missing il have to manage for now, i cant find the preview button or the colored text stuff.

the neutral news is that SR is no longer rated within the top #5 actually i was searching for it and i have no idea where it is, it wasn't located within the first 3 pages, but i'l try to ease up on this because i have already established a reader base of loyal fans, which is why this is neutral news.

the bad news is, i went to the doctor a couple days ago and it turns out my mattress has indeed been the reason for my sore shoulder, but that being said he recommended at least 2 weeks of not straining either of my shoulders or arms meaning no writing or any computer activity, though! i don't want to keep you guys waiting to long and i managed to convince him to think of something else, so he booked me into some masseur place 3 times for 3 days over 1 week, after that i should be able to continue writing, not a long break at all.

other then that, i plan to upgrade my laptop, the one im currently using is 9 years old and even has vista on it, can you believe it has lasted that long? though im not purchasing anything expensive i managed to find a laptop that is worth quite a bit but is broken, so im going to spend a few hundred to fix what needs replacing and that should have me good to go.

that being said this chapter release marks the end of V4, next chapter will be the begging of V5 i felt it was suitable to drag the amount out a little for this moment as the next volume will be more so large scale then the previous volumes.

i intended to add a poll in regards to some artwork but i cant find the feature, so im going to assume some more work is still needed, its fine i guess it can wait a little, the update is still being worked on and im sure it will add to a lot of greatness for the site so for now us web authors need to bare with it

a lot needs to be done but there is a certain pace it can go. ok that should be all.

please do not forget this chapter is the end of Volume 4, and that there will be no release next week so my shoulders can recover, im also planning to buy a new matress ~_~ *sighs*

P.S i have no idea if the spoiler tags even work.

This chapter was pred by Dragonofsomesort & pwninator, Im unable to enter their profiles and link it to their names so please consider going through a bit of effort and giving them some rep for helping to  pr this chapter. :)

please enjoy this chapter, i have no idea how things will be affected i may be able to edit after posting.

“Orochi!! You are trying to cheat me, how can the deal be concluded when Fafnir also lives!” Azrael spoke with no more care as he was too enraged. This began to irritate Orochi. “Oh, that scrawny fool? I have already killed Sulemani, there is no need to spill any more of my brothers’ blood.”

Azrael, hearing this, felt his heart quiver in anger. He roared out as he began an incantation. Orochi simply frowned and let him do as he pleased. “Syrana...we need to flee...” Myra spoke quietly towards Syrana, who stood nearby, watching Azrael and Orochi feud. “Probably the best chance...we need to evacuate our people.... Lets g-”

Before she could finish, Orochi roared out. “Where do you think you’re going!!” But before he could act, a nearby mountain in the distance suddenly began to crumble as a rip in space above it was absorbing the rocks and stone. A rip in space above Azrael in the sky had already formed into the shape of a spear.

“Oh?? So you can do this much.” Orochi chuckled as he waited. “You are trying to cheat me!! I freed you from that hell and now you’re going back on your word! Even you cannot go unharmed from a God level spell. Continental Spear!!”

The spear that was soon completed was different from Driadas. It was more condensed and radiated a more powerful aura. Azrael lept away before willing it to smash down towards the location of Abbadon and Orochi, hoping at least to kill Abbadon in the process.

“You think a silly thing like that is at the level of a god?.... Have you all not lived long enough to know the power of a god? VERY WELL!!!” The moment Orochi shouted, his voice echoing, his mana surged monstrously as he had finally no longer decided to play around. This was the pressure a god could show. Beings that hadn’t reached his level were unable to compete in any way.

When the pressure of his mana surged out, the large Continental Spear shattered into dust, as if it were nothing, while the pressure engulfed Matriarch Skrawl, who decided to flee, as well as Syrana and Myra. The three felt their bodies churn as they coughed up blood and fell limp onto the floor, having blacked out. Azrael felt his anger rise as he grabbed a pendant and broke it. It was just in time, as the black light engulfed him, the pressure surged out, but didn’t reach him.

Around Orochi, the buildings had all been flattened to dust. Of course, he was careful to not injure the weakened Giron and Abbadon, but as his nature affinity head began to glow and form vines over the weakened remaining Sigil wielders. Orochi’s main head smirked.

“In this world, who has the strength to compete with me.... Once I burn it enough, I will take my brothers and flee… The truth of this existence will surely surprise them! Tiamat should be slumbering nearby..”

Orochi gazed around before his light affinity head began to glow heavily. The entire city of Altea was suddenly engulfed in a white light, before a large thick barrier of mana in the shape of a dome engulfed it. This was so that no one but him or the gods would have the strength to enter.

Orochi then shot up into the sky before shooting off towards the direction of the former human capital. “That fool Azrael… I’ll let him do as he pleases and find him later for that Sigil weapon.” Meanwhile, within the heavenly palace, the gods looked down with curiosity. “He finally decided to end things. About time… Pfft, Continental Spear, that little thing? Why did you add my magic to that damned thing anyway!” Mallaku spoke out in anger. He was clearly not impressed.

Septim, glancing over, was pondering a few things. “It doesn’t matter if I added it or not.. And your spell? If I remember correctly, it belongs to the Nev’Lex Empire.” Zephiron snickered as he argued with Mallaku, who again glared towards him.

“I’ll return soon.... Keep an eye on Orochi. He is only to destroy enough to cause a near catastrophe for the world. No more, no less!” Septim didn’t wait for them to reply before he vanished with only a trickle of light in the spot he had been in. He didn’t even wait for Nefria, who was about to speak of her concern towards him.

Septim looked around before raising his hand, a faint surge of light affinity mana swept out engulfing a hidden an object. The space around this invisible object began to distort before it was revealed. It was the rectangular piece of Skymetal with white veins of energy pulsing through it. Glancing at it, Septim felt his heart beat crazily.

“No doubt at first I thought this was what King Lestyn felt… I was even planning to gift it to him to retrieve resources and surge upward from the middle stage of the High Deity level to the Elder Deity level. But to think that there may have been more pieces of Skymetal. If I can convince that creature to forge weapons or armor for me, then maybe only those tyrannical beings will be able to harm me...”

One could see a look of greed shine in Septim’s eyes as he glanced over at the piece of Skymetal. He, of course, looked behind himself to look at a small ripple in the water-like mirror he had used to find Avrin at Silis’s corpse, but the picture revealed was of the mountain area where the Spectrals were currently living in, the reason being he had use for them and would definitely not let Orochi set foot around it, as it would ruin something he considered even more important than the Enigma users. That is if he confirms it and it is to be true.

Seleria, the planet of life and potential, with creatures ranging from Sylphs to Beastmen, magic and wonder, adventurers and academies filled with the young wanting to grow in strength, several  hundred years of history, good and bad, with godly decrees and bloody wars. One would think that for as long as there is peace, then war must be given to balance the natural law of things.

But what followed was no war. What followed was a massacre of species. A year and three months had gone by and Orochi had begun to rally his brethren, starting with Tiamat, the dragon who had single handedly been the reason Sigil weapons had been created. He himself has quite a temper. Although he refused Orochi at first, he was easily beaten into submission, causing the land to scar even more so.

The already ruined former human capital was now nothing but ash and rubble. Orochi then set his sights on more of his brethren. With so much time passing on, Orochi had either gathered all his brethren that accepted, or killed the ones that hadn't. He had a total of twenty dragons, including Fafnir, who feared for his life after Orochi laid waste to his dwarven home, nearly destroying the entire race.

Of course, the dragons Orochi gathered hadn’t remained still. He ordered them to go destroy as much as they can, and with a year of destruction, the one brimming Seleria was now in ash and ruin. Chaos was reigning supreme. The Sigil wielders were being used as fertiliser for Orochi’s strengthening and were of no use, and Azrael had long since fled and hidden himself.

The Eastern continent, although had fought back at first, easily crumbled under the might of a dragon. The Western continent soon followed, as thousands of demons were killed and devoured by the dragon kin. The Southern continent, where a large chunk of the human refugees from the kingdoms of the central continent fled to, were met with a doom that followed them.

Millions perishing and displaced, even the elven forest laid in ruin. Along the swamplands, a large figure was limp and covered in bloody wounds. The carcass of this creature was already rotting for several months now. The surrounding swamp and forest had been charred around it. This was the mighty dragon Lang that Avrin had tricked. Lang had refused Orochi due to loving the nature that the god Lenaya had created and even fought back, but against several of its kin, it was picked off easily and died with nearly no combat at all.

One could find the corpses of several dragons littering the lands. No longer were these creatures hidden away, but now exposed in the open, as common to see as night and day. The only difference being when one is seen then the one who sees it will surely meet their demise.

Above the Northeastern sea, an incredibly large, mountain-like fortress was halfway sunk into the ocean while smoke and fire surged out from the enormous fortress that was built above it. The earth and land around it began to crumble and the faint runes scattered and broken across it were barely glowing.

This was the Avian’s flying fortress and home for all Avian creatures. With Matriarch Skrawl no longer around, it was simply a sitting duck. It was not easy for the dragons to cause it to collapse, but with Orochi stepping in, the struggle was met with the flying landmass collapsing into the ocean while burning in flames.

The Northern continent was not free from doom either, but it had escaped a large chunk of destruction. The dragons knew that hardly any notable humanoids live here and didn't pay much attention to it. That isn’t to say that the dragons that lurked around hadn't already gone by and destroyed many of the structures. The already desolate Northern continent of Ailera had become even more barren and desolate.

During the third month after a year had passed had Orochi finally gathered all the dragons in the central continent where the ruins of Altea city were now his home. The dragons had all gone into a slumber on Orochi’s orders. Now that he had destroyed and did as much as he could, he held only two annoying regrets. One was that he couldn’t discover Azrael, who surely used a magic to conceal himself at the God level, and the second being that he needed to wait a long time to absorb the Sigil weapons and the fruit he had gained from the Sigil wielders’ mana.

Of course, within a certain mountainous area, the Spectral kin knew that the outside world was facing a catastrophe. Enough time had passed for many of them to establish and work on their Divine Sense. Erebus had even personally gone to explore to see the state of things. When he returned, he wasn’t pleased with the recent events.

Several months ago, when the dragons started to attack the Northern continent, Asura had brought the entire population of the outpost with him back to the mountain the Spectrals resided in. Erebus, of course, had not been pleased. Asura had brought up many good points though. His intelligence had already begun to sink in.

----------Flashback Four Months Ago---------

Within Erebus’s office, Erebus was currently seated with a frown as he gazed at Asura. “You haven’t explained why you brought over two-hundred people here, Asura!” Erebus rarely got irritated, but with Asura’s actions, it was hard not to.

“You may be higher ranked than me, but I am still the strongest one here! I have never asked for anything and have helped over the years, I think this is suitable. You also know that the dragons outside are destroying Seleria. These people are under my protection, and should all be converted to our kin. It will help our manpower and strengthen us.”

Erebus’s brows furrowed as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “With this, we have to expand underneath the mountain some more. You should have prepared for this sooner. You had months before hand to ask, and we could have at least organised some things. But there have already been issues where we are looked at as strange by those you brought in. You need to handle their mindset or this is not going to work. How can they be like us when they fear us.” Erebus let out a soft sigh before glancing at Asura, who stood up.

Asura looked carefully at Erebus. “People fear many things. If we don’t explain things to them, then they will continue to fear. I will handle it just as you said.” He spoke with a firm yet beast-like tone before vanishing using his own Divine Step.

When he reappeared, he was in a large, emptied out building that was made on rush. Inside, there were children crying and loud debates and arguments as well as normal conversations. Makeshift beds had been made and elderly people were looking around as if they would meet their end soon. Asura knew that these people had seen the destruction caused by the dragons.

He had even risked bringing them here and being seen by the dragons. He had heard about Avrin’s skirmish a year ago and got the idea of concealing their presence, but this time, instead of using mana to coat the dark matter, he used dark matter to coat over the mana. It had expended a lot of his energy, but he had saved these people again.

“Mr...Mr. Asura...” A somewhat chubby man nervously approached Asura with two guards that looked around cautiously. “Oh, it’s you, Mayor.” Asura spoke casually. The mayor cleared his throat. “Please, Mr. Asura, again, just call me Reginald… As for, uhh...the situation....” Asura glanced at the mayor again to see he was in a mess, unsure what to do or tell these people. He was clearly hoping Asura could help since he was considered their savior.

Asura then looked over at the two-hundred people who were spread out amongst the hall. He could see the fear in their eyes, as well as the loss of hope. They felt they were taken by a cult of sorts, as if they had been tricked. Asura could easily hear this with his keen ears.

Asura snarled as he suddenly spoke in an angered voice. “QUIET!!!!” It caused the entire hall to go silent, and even the young babies and children who were crying to keep their mouths shut as they all looked at Asura who soon spoke.

“You’re all saying that this place is one of a cult? One of death and that I tricked you? Let me tell you something. Outside, you have seen it. Dragons are rampaging, and to our knowledge, it isn’t just Ailera, but the entirety of Seleria. I brought you here because it is safe!”

Hearing this a nervous man suddenly called out. “Safe!!? We would be safe if you led us back to the port city South of our outpost and back to the central continent. King Leo could protect us!”

Soon after that man spoke, many people began to speak out. Asura roared out again. “QUIET!” The entire hall went silent for a second time. “This is a place of utmost secrecy. That being said, We will give you supplies and send you off.

Once you overcome the wildlife that has been hiding and starving, as well as the potential dragon that can sense your mana, and even head to the port city which I have already seen in ruins, then you can go to your capital by using the already destroyed vessels, and traverse the dangerous sea to reach the central continent which, like the rest of the world, is in flames. You people don’t understand. A Sigil wielder is meant to fight one dragon! But how can your king fight against five of them, or even ten! As I said, this place is being kept secret. The reason we will let those who want to leave go is because we are 100% certain they will not even live to see the next light of day.”

Asura’s words hit these people hard and frightened some, as they all began to whisper and some even cry. Erebus and Kael were quietly watching from a hidden area, wondering how Asura would handle things. “King Erebus, do you think things will go well? I do hope Asura can manage.” Kael worryingly said as he knew a lot about Asura’s temper. Though Erebus glancing and listening understood Asura’s tactic and simply rubbed his goatee and spoke. “Watch carefully. Asura has gotten more intelligent than you realise.”

Asura suddenly raised his hand before he began to gather Nebula Mist. This caused all the people to suddenly look in awe at Asura. The Nebula Mist surged around before forming into a bowl filled with food and meat.

This caused the onlookers to quickly yell out in surprise and shock, some asking what sort of magic is this and others even calling it crazy. Of course, Asura simply smirked. “You have all seen how I have defeated your enemies, and how I can create food from thin air. The truth is, you can all become as strong as me if not stronger.

You can make food and never go hungry again, you can train hard and one day reach the goal of destroying dragons. Even now I strive for that goal, but I do not want it to be my end. You can live for as long as you want. You can heal your wounds and never watch your loved ones die. Your children can become heroes, your elderly can live their youth. You can all strive to become gods!!”

Amazement filled the hall. Many had even forgotten the dangers of outside for a moment and already began to yell out in craze. “Please give me power!” One teenager called out while an elderly man spoke as he held his wounded hip. “Heal me oh great one!!” Many people were contemplating this, but some were not convinced and still cautious.

“H...How do we know you’re not tricking us!” One person spoke out as an elderly man soon followed. “This is evil’s work! The evil god Zephiron’s work!” Asura listened to them all as some began to reconsider.

“Very well.... Let me show you. Which one of you would like to train and have this power?” Suddenly, the old man with the injured hip pushed his way through before nearing the rocky edge that Asura was standing on. Asura glanced at him and then looked towards one of the two Spectrals clad in red and black armor. The man glanced over at Asura confused before Asura ordered him over.

“Convert him...” Asura spoke casually before the knight looked over, feeling a little excitement, as converting had been forbidden for quite some time. “Very well, Grand Prince Asura.“ The armor clad man removed his gauntlet to reveal his pale yet strong looking hand before he reached over with his remaining arm and reached for the elderly man’s right hand, after which the Spectral pointed his free index finger and stabbed it into the elderly mans palm. The elderly man screamed in pain and began to try and pull back and some people even looked with worry.

The Spectral began to channel Nebula Mist and dark matter inside the elderly man’s body just as he was taught. Asura also spoke out to ease the worries of the others. “Converting is a little painful, but it is not life threatening. It works by injecting the energy we use into your body. It will strengthen your flesh, your bones, and allow you to live for as long as you do not piss anyone off enough to get killed!” He shouted with harsh words.

The elderly man bit his lips in pain as he soon felt the pain vanish as his body felt a little weird. He also felt a little tired, and he soon collapsed against the Spectral who removed his finger and gently laid the elderly man down.

“Grandfather!” A young woman rushed over as she sat beside her grandfather with tears in her eyes. She looked up at Asura and screamed out. “What have you don-” A noise interrupted her, a heavy sort of snarl. But as she looked down she could see that her grandfather was snoring as he was resting, but his body was shifting and changing as a small mist circulated around him.

“Your grandfather is safe. After conversion, one will enter a slumber that lasts for a day. When you awaken, you will be a Spectral!” Asura didn’t need to sugarcoat much. He wanted to save as many of these people as he could. He could only hope that once the old man awakens then things would go smoothly.

And indeed, after the day had passed, the old man awakened and was looking youthful. His changed happened in front of the eyes of everyone. The old man was amazed at his body, saying he felt incredible and even stronger and that he didn’t feel any negatives. This caused many people to also undergo the process. Some were even more skeptical, but the more people that had gotten converted the more there was to convince the others to try it, and with them stuck, this was the only way out.

It had taken a week of convincing and converting before everyone, including the young children and babies who their mothers were very protective of at first, had been converted. Each one was feeling better then ever. Kael had also stepped in to help as he began to lead the new Spectrals away to help them settle in and give them the correct information.

Asura felt his heart beat quickly. He didn’t think he could manage to convert them all. Even the mayor was skeptical at first. Though Asura felt at ease. Erebus walked beside Asura as he looked in the open space while Kael and the others led them away. “You did well. Actually exceeding my expectations.” Erebus spoke while laughing quietly.

“Of course! I was the first among all of us to be converted, how could I not be anything special.” He spoke, trying to inflate his ego. Erebus chuckled again before speaking. “Though it’s good you remembered to not personally convert them and to use a Knight ranked Spectral. We can’t have a big influx of pure individuals going around. The Lord Monarch wants people to work for their power.“Asura nodded as he was lost in thought. “Hmmm...”

------------Flashback End-----------

1 year and 3 months had passed since the dragons had rampaged across seleria.Within the capital of Altea, a white robed individual was currently making his way around. Of course, the dragons that were slumbering out in the open all spotted him, some even rising up as they growled in anger. “A human dares come here?” One large dragon with several horns over its face spoke out in anger.

Another with blue scales and a single eye with a large pair of ram-like horns snickered before it began to charge a weak Terror Burst. The others all felt angered as they wanted to kill this intruder first, but the human called out. “Mighty Orochi!!! I know where you can find people not of this world who can help you increase your strength with no limits!!!”

The dragons all laughed and even the one eyed dragon dissipated its terror burst as it also laughed. They all began to think that this human truly was trying to curry favor, but before they could continue to attack a large deep voice resounded out. “... Increase my strength with no limits?” Orochi’s monstrous figure and his nine heads were uncurled as he began to raise his body up to glance down at the robed individual.

The man snickered under his hood as he raised his head. Although the man seemed human like his most notable feature was not the pale skin he had, but the purple pupils reserved only for spectrals.
