After reattaching his metal mask, Avrin could see that the hallways were somewhat quiet with the occasional guard or two heading through. The ship's interior seemed to be made from a steel like metal that was obviously enchanted by magic, to the point where it was slightly visible even to the naked eye.

Having learnt the basics of blacksmithing, Avrin had thought he should open up a minds eye towards things crafted from metal; this was also a recommendation by Klin. This would help him get ideas as well as understand how things could be used and made.

Avrin headed up several floors of the large ship until the ocean air filled his nostrils, it was refreshing and somewhat dry but it was still something he would love to look at. Having arrived on the top deck his eyes widened with fascination.

The sea itself wasn't as desolate as one would think, although land was out sight there were many ships in the distance, mostly scout ships and trade vessel looking ships as well as fishing vessels taking advantage of the clear weather.

The water of this ocean was pristine and unpolluted although it kept its strong blue color. The top deck itself was active with workers attending mechanisms that needed to be cared for, although they didn't look like soldiers and more like dockworkers hired to help, Avrin felt these men had some form of training just in case pirates or something would show up.

Avrin was snapped out of his curious daze by a familiar voice. “Ah Sir Avrin its good to see you.” Turning his head Avrin gazed at the man and instantly recognized him the mage that explained the mana tornados.

Although the mage blinked as he spoke “uh you are Sir Avrin correct?” motioning towards the mask he wore Avrin nodded. “I am. “ Avrin turned back around as he gazed at the expansive ship it was incredibly huge and he had a question.

“I didn't quite get your name, but I have a question. How difficult is it to craft a ship such as this?”The mage gave a soft chuckle and replied. “I apologize I am Magi Tyrin, one of 10 who help serve humanity under the Archmages orders.

As for this ship sir Avrin, a vessel such as this takes 5 years to build, but it is not that the manpower is lacking.

There are several things needed to be taken into account such as builders who understand what they are doing as well as preparing the required materials, I’m sure you have noticed the enchanted metal and wood used the process creating it is the biggest time consumer in crafting a vessel such as this.”

Avrin showed great interest in boats as well as any weapon that could be used for war, a trait of being a general. It also didn't hurt to learn at every chance he got. “With all this advancement in enchanted materials wouldn't it be easier to build vessels capable of flight?”

Tyrin let out a hearty almost sarcastic chuckle “haha sir Avrin I wish we understood flight better. Our attempts at flight are quite good but we have been met with negative support.

Most consider flying to be reserved for single use such as the races born from it, the avian tribes demons and even angels alone. They also suggest we not create vessels capable of flight as it impedes on them”.

Tyrin frowns “although I am one of few supporters who would enjoy seeing equality, there logic without the political talk is they do not want us humans to fly because they would not seem so unique”.

Avrin nodded he could understand this and agreed. “Sir Avrin will you not reconsider joining us for dinner? I had heard that your companion Asura had agreed immediately after being offered. Lord Gregson had hoped for you to meet lady Karina and possibly build a relation”.

Avrin seemed to laugh softly “Tyrin it sounds like Gregson is trying to set up a marriage for me by the effort he is attempting to get me to go” Tyrin was silent and gave a soft snicker. “Well I can't deny this, he has boasted your skills and power only seeing it once lord Gregson is a great judge of character after all”.

As Avrin was about to reply the currents of the ocean became rougher and the waves heavier with the clouds forming into a blue static appearance with thunder shooting diagonally at a point.

Tyrins eyes bulged as they widened “n..no how could this be….the weather was supposed to be calm….how could the archmages predictions be off!!”

Tyrin immediately called out “Under authority of The Magi Council Turn this vessel around!!” under certain circumstances of events of magic the magi council members who had an understanding of magic better than any other human were allowed to overrule orders of even the generals.

Avrin turned to look at the clouds as he began to feel a heavy flow of air shoot toward the point of lightning and that wasn't the half of it. The lightning that shoot towards the point didn't disappear it seemed to spiral continuously as more lightning gathered in a horizontal spiral it began to shape into a tornado not of wind but of electricity.

The ocean began to pulse with this mana like electricity, the bodies of fish large and small would surface and the static passed through the ship but did not affect it. Tyrin smiled. “Sir Avrin...now you know why we enchant the materials not only to support the size of the vessel but to resist and nullify the effects of natural events like this”.

Although tyrin showed a hint of pride he was still showing nervousness, at this point Gregson accompanied by a young lady in her 20’s who had long scarlet hair and wore detailed armor that fit well but still showed her curves as well as some cleavage and her legs with only armored boots to cover.

This girl also wore glasses and showed a mature expressionless look on her face. Her focus was fixed on the mana tornado even as her and Gregson approached tyrin and Avrin.

Gregson looking at the mana tornado sighed and clenched his fist “magi Tyrin...w..What is this?! I thought the Archmages predictions were that we would make it out of this a day before it forms again….”

Little did they know that the Archmages intentions were more fixed than they thought? Tyrin was confused as he rubbed his head. “I...I don't know...I need to contact him and call for assistance…. I doubt we can outrun the tornado…”Avrin looked carefully at the mana tornado…

Meanwhile inside an underground chamber hidden in the central continent a man wearing red and yellow robes with the insignia of humanity on his back knelt down in front of a fire that burned like a rainbow.

The man who was kneeling looked to be in his 80’s and had a long beard, in his hand he held a large staff with several crystals of all sorts of sizes and colors seemingly growing out of the wood. He spoke softly.

“Oh mighty creator of humanity the being of knowledge the goddess of wisdom and our mother. Goddess Ishana, your humble servant Archmage Gillian has come to report news”.

The flame that burns like the rainbow began to take form as it settled down before forming a figure out of its beautiful flame it was only the shape and showed no other features other than a fit beautiful body and curves.

This figure then spoke softly as the image of Ishana. “Gillian my child I see you have done as asked. “ Gillian nodded with a frown. “m...My goddess when you came to me in my sleep you asked me to lie about the mana tornado to one of my disciples seeking advice...and I did indeed tell him that the conditions were well and there was not going to be a second event but what could be so dire a goddess needs to be involved in?”

The flaming avatar walked delicately to a throne of blue material and sat down crossing her legs. “Gillian when I created humanity I had not known your curiosity would grow to become so strong. But as your creator I will take responsibility. On that ship lurks a being I cannot see anywhere near. On the elven continent an event happened, Lenaya had felt her gift to her people activate.

She also could not see within a kilometer of that area it was as if it didn’t exist. At the center of that void that kept moving from place to place I also couldn't see.”

Gillian widened his eyes. “m..My lady a gift to the elves from the goddess Lenaya?...I..Is that allowed? “ He questioned almost jealously. Ishana gave a soft chuckle. “Do not worry. Other than me no other god knows of this Lenaya asked me to use my power to see what had caused this but I had the same result of her.

Although I’m sure Septim already knows as me and Lenaya discovered the angel lord leave he must know something but I dare not interrogate him. A power capable of blocking a god's sight is something unheard of assuming it is an enigma ability user to force the activation of activation of a goddess's gift is something truly remarkable but also worrying.”

Gillian tilted his head. “Goddess Ishana would it not be simple to ask goddess Lenaya to question her elven kin?...” Ishana let out a pained sigh. “Although we are gods we also follow rules. I am here because my knowledge and wisdom allows me to avoid the other gods’ detection but this is all I’m able to do.

Lenaya is not capable of doing this and can only send simple gestures unless all gods agree for her to go down. I would do so on her behalf but the elves do not have a temple for me to manifest in and I’m sure you know how difficult it is to construct one.”

Gillian nodded “many many dozens of painstaking years my goddess.. But for a being like that are we sure whoever it is will perish?” Ishana was quiet for a moment. “I foresee this being shall perish in the ocean the sacrifice made by my children is small to pay for its death for if this being lives on I see in the future where that sightless void goes ash and darkness shall run rampant I cannot allow this”.

Gillian nodded. “My goddess t..then isn't it better to tell the other gods of this?....” Ishana smiled softly her near featureless lips showing it slightly “by doing so they would find out Lenya’s gift I do not want anything to happen to my dear friend so this is a favour from me to her”

Gillian nodded. Little did either of the two know was that the real reason they had not been able to see Avrin was because of a small favor the true god had done for him. As he becomes stronger this sightless void would shrink until he has reached a peak of power capable of rivalling the gods. But until then he has hidden them from their sight.

The large vessel was cutting through the waves as it tried to return towards the closest landmass to the east. Water covered with static crashing against the edge of the vessel made it nearly impossible for the crewmen to do anything else one touch would paralyze or kill a lesser man.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Gregson held his hand in his head “damn our luck….” lady Karina the scarlet beauty folded her arms as she showed slight signs of worry she spoke her voice carrying the maturity and elegance of her appearance “Sir Tyrin is there truly nothing we can do?”

Tyrin who had returned looking as if he had lost hope was gazing blankly at the mana tornado. “T...the lord Archmage Gillian isn't….answering from the magi sphere I have…. what is going on….what is this…” he sighed.

Avrin gazing at the tornado for several minutes now was sizing it up taking into account how large it is. “-Its not as big as I thought if I don't try now I’m going to regret it later…-” walking towards the end of the vessel and jumping up above the ship's stern he looked at it.

This caused Karinas attention to sift to Avrin. Tyrin spoke out “Sir Avrin...please do not waste your breathe only a sigil wielder would be capable of saving us now….” Avrin whispered a soft name “Astaroth..”

In his hands a large demonic looking scythe formed out of a black energy. The presence of this weapon was so demoralizing and ominous despite being in complete hopelessness everyone within a dozen meters of Avrin immediately retreated with fear. Tyrin, Karina, even Gregson quickly retreated back as they looked in fear there hearts beating.

Avrin took a deep breath this would be the first time he would use this weapon he had no idea how to properly use it. “-Fuck off...no way I’m going to die out here after taking a step forward….you want to kill me?!!-”

Anger in his face as he remembered how he had died and how painful it was and how god had brought him back to use him as a piece for his amusement how he was almost killed then captured and how he had spent years to train his body coming up against annoying obstacles and having to go around them or fall without being able to properly defeat them.

The scythe responded to Avrins anger and frustration as dark matter surged within it the blades edge began to give a low humming sonic like sound. Avrin tried to imitate the slash the doppelganger had used to cleave the ground hoping to achieve the same result.

“The swing of the scythe was horizontal to maximize the area it would hit”. By doing so a large wave of dark energy was released screeching as it tore through the air, a bluish light seemed to form and split apart.

This blue energy was mana being devoured as the wave of black energy expanded and shot towards the mana tornado. This black wave of energy seemed to grow larger bit by bit as it devoured mana seemingly not losing one bit of strength.

The force of the slash had caused the back portion of the large vessel to lift off the water nearly toppling over before crashing back down into the water causing it to shake violently as screams and shouts of the screw roared out in this event.

The black energy wave reached the tornado before it passed through it, the entire tornado seemingly dispersing in an instant but also caused the energy wave to shoot upwards and grow larger due to the energy it absorbed.

Reaching the clouds that it would then blow apart the color of the energy wave went from black to a bluish black that kept growing larger. An attack that had a limitless appetite. The surge of energy that kept going leaving the planet's atmosphere after a minute had grown incredibly long in length.

***

In a golden palace of light with heavenly flame delicately blowing on braziers with attendants of pure white tending to a being who wore an open robe showing a perfect body shape long glowing white hair as well as a strong figure. This being gazed down into a pool of green transparent water but the water reflected the world of Seleria, this being's eyes were twitching nervously as he focused on a single object.

This object was the dark matter wave that kept growing in size a truly devastating weapon in a universe of mana. “What monstrous power…” this beings ghostly voice softly echoed.

The dark matter wave had reached a point where it suddenly stopped growing and then softly disintegrated after traversing a fair distance from Seleria. This being clad in gold and white robe sighed in slight relief before a soft voice called out to him.

“My lord Septim...what could this mean…?” the man revealed as the god Septim turned back and spoke “I do not know Nefria I cannot see into it my vision is blocked”.

Nefria, Septim's wife and goddess of light wore a dress that covered her completely revealing only soft features such as her curves but her face showed appearance was not at all average but a little above so, of course this wasn't to say that one couldn't feel that her charm was indeed magnificent

“Could it be an enigma?...” her voice like a gentle breeze that would touch someone’s ears as if silk ran through their skin. Septim took a deep breath and shook his head “there is that possibility I will have to summon the other gods I’m sure they also felt it”.

Back on Seleria the clouds had parted and the ocean was clear, Avrin was kneeling a trail of blue blood seeping from the mouth slot of the mask as well as the eye sockets his right arm had been torn off and he looked near death.

“T...to much...I used to much….” he coughed out before summoning Astaroth. “Asura!!!” he called out like thunder to which a black blur appeared on deck lazily before gazing in the distance at Avrin.

Like a berserk bolt of lightning, seeing his master in a state of pain he appeared near him in only a few seconds. “m..my room...take me to my room...I need...to heal…” Avrin then lost consciousness not only was the pain insanely intense but the particles making his body were shaking causing more pain every time it would try to heal they would split and shake.

“Master hold on!!” Asura roared out like a ravenous creature before holding Avrin in his arms and disappearing below deck. Gregson was silent his mouth opened as he looked at the clear skies, Karina and Tyrin as well they had only seen Avrin go to the top of the stern before a powerful fear overcame them.

in a few seconds the mana tornado was torn apart but that ominous energy continue on splitting the clouds and passing on before it vanished from sight.

“w...what horrifying power….” Tyrin fell to his knees gripping his staff. Karina's lips quivered as she fell to her knees as she placed her hands onto the ground “incredible….simply incredibly my god what a world we live in”.

Gregson swallowed his words after the sight of Avrin's near death state caught his attention he then understood Avrin’s value skyrocketed to be able to match the power of a sigil wielder but if Avrin were to die here then it would be a huge loss, he called out “medics to lord Avrins room!!!” he called out adding the title of lord to Avrin after realising his true value.

Avrins blue blood had caused a slight trail to form, Tyrin looked at a small pool of it carefully before an idea formed in his mind. He quickly used a containment magic as he took a sample of his blood. Down the deck Asura stormed through the hall, his steps causing the enchanted wood to break slightly yelling at everyone to step aside. Asura reached the room gently placing him on the bed and looked at Avrin.

“Master….if you perish I’ll be left with these weird humans!!” Asura wasn't sure how to express his fondness for Avrin. He knew due to Avrin in the past he suffered greatly but in return he obtained power that had potential and also got to experience food and the true trials of life as well as gain intelligence his people could only dream of.

Avrin laid there unconscious the blue blood on the mask slowly drying up. Deep in Avrins consciousness, he laid on a patch of grass that was only several meters in diameter he felt his soul quiver slightly and it made him feel sick.

A voice then spoke after signing, “wow you really something Avrin…” Avrin despite being in such a weak state knew who that voice belonged to and couldn't help but give a faint smile. “o….overestimated…” he whispered out before a click sounded out from the being and Avrin felt his soul instantly recover like a miracle.

Avrin leaned up and looked at the being he had come to know as the true god. This being was looking behind himself at the planet of Seleria despite this it was not a room of space but rather a miniature version of it.

god then spoke “but I tell you that was exciting… This feeling of being surprised all the time is something I enjoy a lot so this time for making me happy I’ll help you out a bit and also give you some advice.”

Avrin stood up and kneeled respectfully to god as he offered thanks “thank you.... and since you're in such a giving mood please give me some advice on the events that had occurred to me so far…”

God thought for a moment before speaking “very well I’ll do it like this. Every time you manage to impress me greatly I’ll do you a favor that is reasonable. I will start from the beginning.”

Avrin sat down cross-legged as he expected this would take awhile. “Sky metal is indeed 2 gods that had collided and formed into one, you have seen it and understand it as well as me. Showing you during the start would take too long, I won't go on about it. But I’ll also tell you that  during that brief moment when those gods collided the power is intense enough to distort the laws of this universe and cause a tiny rip into another universe.

This allows a small, very small portion the energy of that universe to imbue with those gods and the closest universe to this Avrin is your own considering I had gotten the idea from it. So the result is always dark matter imbuing with them except in rare cases.

That being said the dark matter in that metal reacts to you Avrin it is empowered by your presence like a parasite wanting to be fed. At first it tried to absorb you into itself, to feed but you beat it back.

When your body took it in, the metal gained abilities as it was absorbed into your core. This allowed it to manifest and create a spectral dimension of this world to combat you in it. I expect you will face this every time so let that be a free tip but keep in mind these battles are important.

It is a battle of dominance where the loser is absorbed and the winner controls the main body. In this case you won and gained a boost in power as well as the sky metal scythe, Astaroth.

Although you were careless and used 5% of its power from the get go you have only just attuned yourself to that weapon”.

Avrin looked confused. “Attuned?...” God nodded before he waved his hand they were transported back in time inside the exact room Avrin had been trying to do the pulsing dragon inside and his body was right there in the meditative state but it was like this version of him didn't notice them at all.

God then spoke. “The pulsing dragon did not work because Astaroth was blocking it, wanting your attention entirely. It was only when you formed it and held it out in the real world that your powers linked together forming that contract although the weapon is you and you are that weapon this contract solidifies that”.

Avrin nodded every word God spoke was like a treasure to him he had hopped many times that he would have a chance to ask and here it was in the open for him. “How do I control it?.” God chuckled at Avrins question.
