Important

After reading the comments before and taking in some good suggestions i "wont!!" be rewriting anything. I will wait until spectral regalia is finished before i even consider anything. That being said i left a simple note on the first prologue stating that the story gets better as one reads on, at least i think it does? *cough*

Anyway, i'v also received other comments and pms in regards to donations, i realize my story isn't top level yet and i shouldn't make donations so expensive i needed a price that wont ruin me for time because of my real life job and obligations but also seem modest. Iv set the donation to 40$ per chapter, i hope you guys find this better in terms of pricing.

I guess i wont take the week off? i have no idea why but i just cant draw myself away from writing, chapter 145 is also being pred soon, for updates follow me on twitter.

That being said im interested to know what you guys are hoping to see or expecting to see in future spectral regalia chapters, leave a comment below and i will surely get right to it.

Enjoy the chapter, if i have missed anything out please let me know.

Also some authors including myself have received messages by a site trying to poach us from RR after seeing its success. I hope you guys will stay loyal to RR and if you all ever decide to write, to think carefully about any potential offers you may receive from fishy sites like that, they are only trying to make a profit. RR has helped me improve and the community here is incredible i hope you all have experienced what i have here as well.

Keep an eye out for suspicious Pms.

---------------

Several purple veins spread out from the area of his chest across his body. The air around him began to distort slightly as if he were the center of a sort of gravitational pull. Avrin quickly looked around. Thankfully, not many people were out at this time and only the upper section of the market bazaar was busiest. He sidestepped into the alley where empty crates were stacked. He walked in and no longer tried to hold back the change that occurred.

The air suddenly emitted a faint blue glow as streams of mana were now visibly being absorbed into Avrin. The alley let out a faint light, though it didn’t last long as the light slowly faded until it was gone completely.

Avrin felt as if several hundred tons were lifted off his body. He knew this marked a stage of recovery as his strength elevated to that of the Mythical level, he truly was amazed at how quick he could recover from such a near death state though, considering he had God’s Heart, it didn’t become as surprising the more he thought about it.

He was now absorbing mana from the air at his normal pace. He had underestimated his recovery ability “-If this keeps up, I’ll have my previous strength in only a few days-” Avrin was ecstatic. His Divine Sense finally expanded out with a sort of pent up excitement. No longer was it only several meters, but now it was expanding for miles.

Avrin could now get a detailed look of the village and surrounding area. It was quite big for a village, but he ignored it. His Divine Sense expanded further and further until he got a grip of how far he could expand it to. His current reach was six-hundred miles. He could even feel the city that was on the horizon. Its size was incredibly large, at least three times larger than the human capital Altea on Seleria.

Avrin felt many strong individuals ranging from Sages to Mythical levels. Surprisingly, he had even felt that the strongest individual there was a mid Legendary. Avrin couldn’t get clear details of everything at that reach, as it was his limit, but he could see that this was a woman and she was within a large room with several Mythical level beings and some Sages, most likely discussing something.

Avrin suddenly shifted his attention to Calomia’s home and with a flash his body turned to ash as he used Divine step. Almost immediately after he left, a man was bringing someone over. “I tell you, I saw a damn weird light shine out from here...” A man in simple clothing with a half bald head brought over another middle aged man who looked around in the alley. They were both a little curious. “The hell?... Have you had too much to drink at this damn time? Leave me alone...” The annoyed middle aged man spoke to his somewhat older counterpart before walking off.

The older man scratched the top of his head with a confused look before walking off to follow the other. It hadn’t taken more than a moment before Avrin’s body reformed in the front area of the path leading to Calomia’s house. He chose this place because they were both inside. Avrin raised his hand and a small sphere of dark matter formed. In a moment, surges of blue streams of mana rushed over towards that sphere and Nebula Mist shot out of it. The Nebula Mist reformed into a large cut of beef. Avrin then opened his other hand and the same scene happened, except this time a small white dress formed. With the sack under his robe against the belt at his waist, he walked over. Almost immediately, Calomia’s old head rose. “Hmm, Illisia, we have a guest?”

Illisia, who had a bored look as she was waiting for dinner from leftovers of yesterday's meat, suddenly jumped off the chair and walked over to the door as she pushed it with a bit of force to pry it open. She looked over and saw Avrin, “Ooo!!! Grandma, it’s Avrin!!” Illisia’s boredom quickly dissipated. Avrin watched as Illisia rushed over and started to tug at his robe as she spoke. “Mister Avrin, how was your trip? Did you fight any creatures? Did you eat anything good? What did you bring me from the village?”

Several questions were shot towards him one after another. Avrin looked at her with a soft smile under his mask. He spoke to her as he handed her the large cut of beef. This was a meat they would not have in this universe; he had hoped it would be good enough to be considered a treat for them. “Take this to your grandma then come get your gift.”

Illisia gazed at the cut as she tried not to drool. She knew with this that she would have another good set of meals. “Meat!! Ahya! You kept your word! Good food, good food!!” As Illisia carried it with both her little hands shouting out the word ‘good food’, Calomia glanced over and happily took it with no real surprise, as she expected at least this much from Avrin.

“Oh, how did it go boy?” She watched as Avrin walked over to the table and sat down before removing his mask and lowering the hood from the grey robe. He didn't reply at, he simply removed the sack from the belt and emptied the contents onto the table. “You tell me.”

Looking at all the Haze crystals come out, Calomia’s hands shook with surprise as her old body froze up. She was stunned. So many Haze crystals in one night from Avrin had appeared. It had taken her fifteen years just to get three, but in a single night he had obtained so many.

“Are you trying to give me a heart attack?! Be more subtle!” She berated him but she was clearly in a happy mood as she felt Avrin may indeed keep his promise. At this stage, Illisia was amazed. She walked over with curiosity. She had never seen a Haze crystal up close as Calomia was very secretive about them due to their importance. “Wahh...Mister Avrin, these are beautiful… Are these the present you have for me?”

Avrin glanced at her and frowned a little. “Clearly a spoiled child.” Hearing this, Illisia frowned and wasn't sure what to say. “I...I'm sorry...” After she spoke, Avrin smiled and said: “Don't fret. I got you this. You played a role in saving me, so why wouldn't I spoil you a bit?” He splayed the beautiful white dress onto the table. He wasn't sure about her size, but using dark matter to make this attire was child's play to him.

“-Bea...tiful...-” She thought as her sadness vanished and she looked at the white dress. She picked it up and looked at it for a few moments. Tears welled up in her eyes as she began to cry. This stunned Avrin and even Calomia. “What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” Avrin spoke with a little worry.

“It’s beautiful, Mister Avrin… I don’t get many things....but this is amazing… I feel like a princess just by holding this!” She quickly jumped up and down before rushing off to the only other room with a door to try it on.

Avrin simply smiled. He looked at Calomia, who was holding the chunk of meat with curiosity. “Hmm, such strange meat. It doesn't look so tough....and it seems quite fresh. Did you kill a creature on the way here?”

Avrin nodded and focused on the Haze crystals. By now he felt no need to hide most of his abilities from Calomia or Illisia. He grabbed one of the small Haze crystals and began converting it into a dark core. This process was much quicker and smoother thanks to his recent recovery. This was also due to him not bothering to purifying it and making sure the dark matter was of the best quality. This dark core wasn’t for consumption but to be used as a building block.

The dark core began to tremble between Avrin’s index finger and thumb as it began to shift and change. Some Nebula mist was needed, and before long it changed into the shape of a spherical 4x4 inch disc with half an inch of thickness. The front of it was engraved with Avrin’s new makeshift symbol as a way for people to know who made it, and there was a simple word written onto it that read “”Dark Frost Mine””. Avrin didn’t want to replicate technology from his world in a straight up degree; he simply took inspiration and added his own touches. He needed something that wouldn’t raise suspicions and would be considered an innovative standard.

Calomia, who had become quite curious, walked over towards the table Avrin was sitting at. She looked around for Illisia before she spoke in a not too loud nor too quiet voice. “Avrin...the first day I saw you I knew you were not normal. I can tell from your appearance alone that you must be someone of high importance. It wouldn’t be hard for you to find a desperate woman and use your good looks to woo her and then use her for your gain, but things right now are a bit too mysterious for my liking. How did you get so many crystals? Just who are you?”

Avrin didn’t look at Calomia while she spoke and listened while focusing on the particles that made up the Dark Frost mine. It was only when she stopped talking did he finally glance up at her with an odd look. “I’m mysterious? You know I am quite aware of my appearance yet neither you nor Illisia seem to have shown so much of a hint of interest until now. I’m sure your past in itself is just as interesting as mine. As for who I am and where I came from, I would prefer to keep that to myself for now. I do not have any enemies coming after me because of my tight lips and I would like to keep it that way until I recover completely.”

With that said, Avrin stood up. He had made ten Dark Frost mines each embedded with Haze crystals. He wasn’t sure what would happen when they were used, but he wanted to find out. Calomia’s expression changed to one of slight concern. She never expected Avrin to be so secretive even after they had saved him from death. “That’s fine. I just hope whatever it is you are up to that you won’t bring harm to Illisia. She has already suffered a lot.”

Avrin wasn't so heartless as to bring trouble to those who helped him. He didn't know why Calomia would think it was possible; he could only assume that she herself was being overly cautious. But he didn't want to ask after giving an answer to his mysteriousness that may make him seem hypocritical.

Avrin placed his hands over five Haze crystals and slid them over the table towards Calomia. “Consider this a deposit. I'm heading out. Being a merchant, it seems I have to constantly search for things to sell.” With a soft tone in his voice, he took the mask and fastened it over his face as he watched Calomia give a stunned look but not utter another word for several moments. She wasn't sure what to say to this young man.

Stolen novel; please report.

“-Maybe he truly will help us overcome our trouble… The risk is too high right now. If he finds us it will surely be bad… I can only wait and see how far Avrin goes-” Calomia gave a trouble sigh before standing up and pocketing the crystals and heading off to continue making the meal.

Illisia came a few seconds after wearing the beautiful dress Avrin had gotten her. She twirled before looking around, the excited look on her face turned to confusion. “Grandma, where’s Avrin?” Calomia turned to look over her shoulder and smiled warmly as she looked at how pretty Illisia was. “He just left. You can probably catch him outside if you're quick enough.” Illisia quickly rushed towards the ragged door, though when she opened it and glanced outside she frowned. Avrin wasn't anywhere to be seen. She gave an annoyed humph and headed back inside the house.

Avrin had Divine Stepped away. Several kilometers from there was a myriad of hills and mountainous terrain carved with paths and rocky outcrops. If one was to exit Calomia’s home and see the plains and village to the east and the forest from the west stretching near the northern area than the place Avrin was now would be the near barren south.

Avrin stood on a large, cracked boulder that seemed to have been split and had several claw marks as well as some dried blood on it. It would surely have a story to tell if it could speak. Avrin was feeling around using his Divine Sense. Right now he needed something that would assist him. What he was after was quite simple and he knew that the fifth universe must be abundant with these.

His eyes snapped open as he felt in the distance a small convoy of ten people, five riding on the backs of creatures while the other five consisting of children and women were inside a decently sized carriage. Although they didn't seem too rich or too poor, Avrin knew this was the perfect target for what he was after, and what he was after were bandits! Using his Divine Step he rushed over from five kilometers away and was now one kilometer closer. In his current state he understood why his strength at this level was stronger than in the past. He actually had to thank Orphelium for this. The dark matter he had placed in his body was not pure and contained all sorts of different levels of variety.

If one was to look at dark matter they would think it would be all the same, but this was something a Spectral and Avrin needed to be careful about. God hadn't given him this information and Avrin knew why, because it would surely give him a large boost in power in a short amount of time which would be deemed unfair, but he had still discovered it on his own.

Base dark matter, to Avrin’s knowledge, comes in three forms; tainted, impure, and pure. Avrin, before fighting Orphelium, was focused between tainted and impure, simply absorbing whatever he could. But this, in the long run, would weaken him unless he flushed it all out and started again, which would take a lot of time to gather pure dark matter. Right now, in this state, his body consisted of 70% pure dark matter while 20% was impure and 10% was tainted. He had no real choice right now.

He decided once he had an abundant supply of crystals he would flush that 30% out and complete it with pure dark matter. His progress may be slow in the future, but this meant his power would be significantly higher. Right now, at the peak of the Dark stage, he could combat High Deities like Septim. This was with tainted and impure dark matter. If he was to replace it with pure dark matter his strength would surely be enough to fight against Elder Deities, though he would think about that later on. Right now, he needed to focus on gaining some workers.

Surely enough, after a few minutes, not too far down the path and behind several large boulders, a group of ten people clad in fur, leather, and beast skin whilst brandishing all forms of weapons were spotted by Avrin’s Divine Sense.

He knew they were laying in wait for the small carriage and its guards to go by, but simply didn't want to wait. He had a perfect marketing plan in mind and these scrubby bandits were perfect guinea pigs.

A large, bulky bandit wearing beast skin and chain leggings peeked over the boulder cautiously. He was quite muscular, but also as hairy as a bear. He had the look of a wild barbarian even more so with a large beard. “Tonight, brothers, the wine is on me if this goes good.” He spoke in a not too loud voice. The other bandits behind him, consisting of some menacing looking men and women were excited. It was hard to tell if it was because of the wine or because they were going to spill the blood of the innocent.

“Boss, come on. Let’s rush them. There are only five right?” A skinny bandit with a messy mohawk said while carrying two dirty steel daggers. It was obvious his strategy was to sneak behind and ambush someone.

“Shut up. We don't know how strong they are yet.” A bald woman who was like an amazon warrior in stature compared to the man said. The bandit leader was quiet as he continued to look carefully.

“Here we go brothers and sisters. Let’s g--” He didn't finish speaking as a small black object fell from the sky and landed on the ground with a soft thud. The bandits nearly jumped with fright at what happened. The bandit leader turned and glanced at it. “What the hell?... Who threw this?” He eyed the group and they all shook their heads.

“Dammit, focus you bastards. No time for games…” He walked over, wanting to pick it up and see what it was, though when he reached down and touched it, the object emitted a faint rumble and dark purple light. Cracks formed around it and within a moment it exploded out with the dark matter stabbing upwards in the shape of a spike. Though this spike resembled that of one formed by a permafrost mine, this it was much more destructive.

The spike impaled the man’s hand, causing it to explode into bits of flesh, bone and blood, and then stabbed into his chest, killing him. The spike’s size was one foot wide and one meter tall. When it impaled his chest it tore half his heart to bits. The dark matter that made the spike suddenly began to devour and turn the corpse to ash as it spasmed.

Screeches and screams sounded out from the bandits as they all turned tail to flee, though they didn't get far before a large dome of dark matter formed around all of them. They all began to attack it. “I don't want to die!! Dammit, I knew they had an Expert!!”

Turning to look back, the corpse was already turned into ash, and the spike soon followed, dissipating into the air. The black object was already destroyed because of the spike forming and now nothing remained apart from some blood.

“None of you are going anywhere just yet.” A voice echoed within the barrier.

The carriage had stopped. A man in armor at the front focused. “Hmmm, beast roars and screams?” He felt that these sounds were of those caused by creatures and not humans in any way.

“Let’s continue before we are attacked.” He spoke out, causing the others behind him to nod and they soon made their way onwards without even knowing what had happened.

Within the barrier of dark matter that was hidden from view thanks to the boulders, it continued to give off a faint black and purple glow. Inside it, Avrin had appeared using a Void step. He had thrown the object which happened to be a Dark Frost mine to see the effects. He could have used it on a creature instead, but humans were more curious. Not to mention he needed some bandits. He had a plan in place and he was certain that it had an 80% chance of boosting his reputation. He couldn't just rely on the young man who purchased his weapon and he also needed to get this done before tomorrow.

Avrin smirked as he glanced at the cowering bandits. “-Well the test was a success. As for them...- He showed a menacing grin. They couldn't see it through his mask, but they could feel the terrifying pressure he was engulfing them with as if to let them know their lives were in his hands.

Meanwhile, in the same day, the young man that purchased Avrin’s dagger was looking a little pale. He hadn't had time to test the weapon properly and despite seeing it, he was still a little cautious. Right now he and twenty others were cautiously walking around the inner part of the forest. Each person had similar attire to the other. If Avrin was here, he would recognize a few of these people. They were part of the Anzazia Mercenary group, the young man, of course, a member.

“It's close…” A man wearing a silver, half-winged helmet spoke quietly. He looked behind him and turned to glance at another man. This was Lev, who had purchased a creature from Avrin previously. “Sir, are you sure we can handle it with this many men?” Lev seemed a little skeptical in regards to their target.

“Best case we get out of here with a few major injuries, maybe a few dead… Worst case, we are all wiped out. It may be slow, but its physical strength and breath attack is nothing to laugh at.” The man in the half-winged helmet spoke again.

The group continued moving. Some had a few injuries from encounters on their way here, but with overwhelming numbers not many creatures dared to attack them. They continued on until they reached on open area with a large, wide rock embedded in the ground with moss and the like growing out of it.

“Huh….isn't it supposed to be here?” Another man who was of the same rank of Lev spoke curiously. He was about to step forward but a hand raised up to stop him in his tracks. “Idiot….it's right there…” Lev frowned and pointed towards the large rock

“Are you kidding me? That's the Blaze Tortoise?” The man didn't seem impressed. “Captain Lev, take five men and surround the left portion, Captain Rhine, take five as well and go for the right portion. Set up the nets. If we can get it up and then hold it down we can injure it, otherwise once it is up we won't be able to go near it because of the fumes. If we mess this up we can only flee.

With both captains nodding, the twenty man group split off around the creature. The nets themselves were made from a special spider’s silk. It was incredibly durable and fire resistant. That being said, it had weaker durability and tensile strength than certain other nets, though pricing was always an issue and one needed to get the best with what they had.

The nets were imbedded into the ground with five hooks spread along the back. Its total area was 10x10 meters. On two sides of the net were two people with great strength ready to throw it over the turtle. Each person handling the net had special gloves that seemed glossy. This was because it was quite sticky and needed to be handled appropriately. They knew once the tortoise rose up the nets would entwine and give them a chance.

It had taken a half hour to prepare and every minute was tense. The Blaze Tortoise was a deep sleeper and wouldn't wake until something foreign touched it, a sort of instinct. It wouldn't react to the sound near it or the rumblings; it simply didn't care unless something touched it.

With both sides prepared and several people surrounding the outer area with crossbows, maces and all sorts of weaponry the man in the half-winged helmet who held a round shield and a large mace took a deep breath and shouted. “Now!!”
