Glancing over towards the source of the voice, Avrin spotted an excited Felia, who ran towards him with worry as well as curiosity. “Avrin! You're ok?.. What the hell happened!?!“ While these words left her lips, Kael, Clovis and some others also rushed over, wondering what was going on.

“Just an ambush. It turns out there was no Dragon, but a larger Draconian. I delt with it quickly and the others scurried off” Kael looked with amazement as he sighed quietly. “I'm sure the battle was intense, Master. You beat it so quickly!”

Avrin tilted his head and gently shook it at Kael’s words. Clovis then quickly uttered out. “Well what now? Was that the big guy of this dungeon?” Avrin nodded as he pointed down towards the hall.

“It's all done. There shouldn't be any problems with hostile encounters anymore.” With those words said, Avrin led the way down the dungeon using his Divine/Dark Sense to lead them towards the cave system.

Felia and the others had planned to tie rope together, but Avrin realised this would take too much time and had formed a rope long enough. as well as sturdy enough. to bring back what they needed. He had no plans to stay any longer.

The rope was thrown down, and people began to climb into the depths. The rope itself was made from a special nano fibre that was 20x harder than steel. but as flexible as string. while being lightweight. Felia glanced at Avrin as she watched the mercenaries carefully make their way down.

“So you had first looks on what's down there. Did anything catch your eye?” Avrin answered simply. “What I was after wasn't there, so I took a few Unique level ores.” At the sound of those words, Felia’s body quivered. “U..Unique level? Isn't that a bit much?...” She worried this was the bulk of the treasure.

Avrin gave a simple laugh. “Trust me. When you find out what's down there, you're going to be glad I only took this much.” Avrin was inwardly happy that when he had arrived, to begin with, Wruen’s corpse had all but vanished, and in it's place was a strange, transparent, black, crystal sphere with a purple gas inside of it. It was around 5 centimeters in diameter.

Avrin wouldn't have seen it had it not been for the dark matter energy it had emitted. He was eager to examine it, but wanted to deal with current issues first. “Kael.” Avrin turned to Kael, who was beside him and looking down at the hole as the mercenaries placed torches.

“Yes, Master? What's wrong?” Avrin began to walk away as he gave an answer. “We’re leaving. Let's go.” Felia froze for a moment, turning to look back. “So soon!? Why? “ Turning to look at her, he spoke. “There's nothing more here for us, and I still need to train Kael. I’d only be wasting time. You have your treasure”

Felia frowned and tapped her feet. “Yes, but we were in this together. We still need to celebrate!” Avrin softly laughed and waved his hand towards Kael. “Let’s go” Kael, who was looking back and forth between Felia, who looked irritated at Avrin ignoring her, and Avrin, who treated this like a joke, felt confused.

“Master!” Kael rushed off to Avrin’s side. “Hey!” Felia called out. But as she was about to follow Avrin, a figure dashed from the walls of the tunnel, making it's way up and landing beside her.

“Clovis?” Felia spoke, gazing at Clovis’s ecstatic face. He dropped several golden objects adorned with gems and diamonds into her hands and spoke. “Congratulations! You're now richer than a human kingdom!”

Felia, who had extended her hand on reflex as Clovis was giving her something, quivered before falling to her knees, gazing at it all. “Uhh…” She was dumbfounded. Having taken his words to heart, how could she not believe him when his tone seemed so true, as well as evidence in front of her.

“Hey, where’s Avrin?” Clovis curiously asked. It was only then Felia snapped out of her confusion. “Shit! He's gone, damnit.” She stood up and looked around in frustration before sighing as she gazed at the gold objects in her hands.

“-I'm sure you have your reasons for leaving so soon.. So I won't trouble you. I just hope we can meet again…-” The image of Avrin embracing her in the tent had come to her mind as her cheeks reddened.

With time passing on for Avrin and Kael, they had soon reached the entrance for the dungeon. Avrin glanced up at the sky, seeing that the sun itself was rising, showing they had been in there for some time. “Sunlight!” Kael spoke cheerfully as he took in the fresh air and the sunlight.

Avrin glanced at some mercenaries who had been left behind to keep guard, as well as care for the horses. After asking Avrin what happened, he simply told them they were retrieving the treasures, which had them excited.

Avrin went over to his horse while Kael did the same, and just as quickly as he wanted to leave the dungeon, they soon began to depart from the area, riding off at a fair pace. Avrin glanced back to get one last look at the dungeon entrance. Seeing the runes that made it, he felt a shiver down his spine as he remembered how Wruen had almost ended him.

He raised the transparent crystalline object and his eyes narrowed. As he held it, he felt his particles dance around in an energetic fashion. Even his heart had began to beat quickly, as if they wanted what was in his hand.

“Master, what's wrong?” Avrin turned to glance at Kael “Nothing. Let’s head off. We need to pass the Witchwood, so keep close” Avrin began to ponder Kael’s progress. The biggest thing was him killing a creature for the first time, as well as experiencing being in harsh conditions, such as being an area where your life could be lost at any moment.

“Does he truly expect me to use it on him?….” Avrin clenched his teeth tightly at God's words, having told him that he could give Kael the needed strength if he absorbed the Enigma potion. Avrin didn't worry about trying to hide the ability. He could pass it off as Kael having an Enigma level ability, which would be simple, but Avrin was reluctant to waste it. He knew he would have time to think of it all.

With them continuing on their journey towards the outpost and the dungeon long behind, Avrin and Kael had reached the small fortress-like outpost. Avrin had already planned it all, but it was only when he and Kael were at the docks waiting for their vessel that Kael asked.

“Master…in truth, I don't feel any stronger… I feel my experience in battle may be significantly better, but my strength is the same… I think I may have gotten a worse deal. Even my armor is damaged…” Kael uttered disappointedly.

“True. It seems I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, so I will have to make due with a last resort.” While they waited, Avrin had written earlier at a restaurant him and Kael had quickly dined at before coming.

Soon, a vessel docked, but the vessel itself seemed more like a warship that had been through countless battles. A voice called out. “Boarding towards the Twisting Lands! We depart in 15 minutes!!” Avrin nodded inwardly and spoke.

“Kael, let’s go. That's our ride. As Avrin walked by a soldier, he handed the letter towards him and showed him the insignia Gregson had given him. The soldier stood to attention and had some fear in his eyes. Avrin spoke with no hesitation. “Head towards the port city of Rael’s manor and hand this to a man named Henreth. Tell him it’s from lord Avrin “

Kael glanced with confusion as Avrin walked towards the vessel. “Master! T..That's heading to the Twisting Lands! Why aren't we heading back to Rael?” Avrin began to walk up the ramp, sparing a single glance at Kael, who stood at the bottom. “It would waste time, and this is much better. Let’s go.”

Kael sighed. He should be cautious at first, but after being through those events in the dungeon with Avrin, his hesitation was all but dispersed. Soon, he and Avrin boarded the vessel heading towards the Twisting Lands, and soon after, it had left.

Within a magnificent palace of light, a lone robed figure clad in brilliant white stood gazing down at a pool that seemed to reflect Seleria’s entirety. He suddenly raised his head and his expression flickered. “Wruen is dead?... This can't be possible!” Glancing down at Seleria, several spots of white light, one for each continent, flickered, but his gaze focused on a lone island.

“There isn't any Sigil wielders there.. This can't be possible!?... What is going on…” The man’s face reflected an mature look of one who had an ancient aura about him, and he looked carefully, trying to figure something out.

“This...is fascinating..” The man waved his hand, and the pool distorted, before revealing the inside of Wruen’s dungeon, showing the sight of the mercenaries taking out his treasure. He glanced around, looking for something.

“No corpse?... He suddenly vanished?...” The figure’s eyes narrowed with annoyance. “How mysterious….” He then smirked, before heading off and vanishing past a door of brilliant light and appearing within a hall that seemed to extend towards eternity. With only one step, he had seemed to reach the end, in front of a golden throne with 5 steps that he walked up before taking a seat.

This figure was none other than the most powerful god of Seleria, Septim, the creator of the dragons. Having shown interest in how his connection with Wruen had vanished, as well as what sort of fate it held, he had figured that something interesting may occur soon.

With the events of the dungeon quickly ended as the mercenaries took out enough gold for them to retire. News spread like wildfire of an ancient dungeon that had been conquered. They had received many invitations by auction houses as well as kingdoms who had hoped to snag a piece of the treasure as well as hire them to help bolster their own manpower.

The ones who had taken the most interest were the organisations who were filled with people of great power, as they wanted to know if anything of importance was retrieved or whether they should revisit the location of the dungeon.

Of course, Felia, as well as the others, knew that if they gave too much information, it would mean trouble for them, so only the location of the dungeon was given and nothing more. They had acquired some profitable treasures, and they didn’t want to be hunted down by greedy individuals. Even more so if they had told them about the sentient Draconians.

With Seleria buzzing with active adventurers wanting to head towards the dungeon, the location soon became a hub of activity, where not even the Witchwood was spared as dozens upon dozens of adventurers would venture through it daily. Avrin had been wise in not saying a Dragon had lurked within, as it may have been enough to attract the attention of Sigil Wielders and other unwanted people.

With time passing on, Avrin and Kael had spent at least a month on the Twisted Lands, venturing around and fighting as well as finding suitable opponents for Kael. It was then that Avrin realised why Kael was considered the black sheep.

It was during one night, when Avrin had spread his Divine Sense to focus around and had developed the ability to detect the core of life for every living creature. Much like the heart that supports the physical body, this mana core supported the mana of a person.

Much to Avrin’s dissatisfaction, it had turned out Kael’s core was like a shattered egg. Completely broken. Avrin was sure that other than the mana that made Kael’s body, that this core had never, since his birth, generated an ounce of mana.

Glancing at Kael, who had gotten physically stronger and somewhat faster, Avrin had seen his that  natural talent was not at all bad. In fact, he considered it to be quite good. But without this core, he could never keep his promise to Gregson.

“-Could this be why God had recommended the Enigma potion?... This situation was unavoidable from the start, and he had seen through it all. I can't believe I doubted it..-” Avrin rubbed his temple as he sat on a nearby boulder, watching Kael train.

“Kael, you should be strong enough to hunt the most basic of life here… I'm going to be training indoors for several hours… I am not to be disturbed unless something important happens. Try not to wander too far...and continue to progress.”

Kael, who was wearing a sleeveless shirt, was panting heavily as he sweated, while his hands numbed from slashing the target with the weapon Avrin had made for him. “Master..I'll try my best..” Kael had realised there was no use in arguing with Avrin. He felt he wasn't a very good Master, but that he tried, in his own way, to help him. It just wasn't very successful.

Kael had to just believe in Avrin and his words. So far, he had seen Avrin was incredibly powerful. Walking over towards the nearby hill face, Avrin emitted Nebula Mist, and with ease it melted and devoured through the earth, creating a large, 15 meter tunnel that Avrin entered before taking a seat on the ground, sitting cross legged.

He pulled out the small crystalline object and watched the purple gas flicker around inside of it like a small Nebula. As Avrin glanced at it, he frowned more. “-I hope my hunch is correct…-” Avrin was referring to the fact that when he and Kael arrived and spent a day here, he had taken the time to observe the object. At first, he wanted to absorb it, but a feeling arose inside of him, saying that he should wait until he developed his Dark Space.

As he put the object away, he entered his body's inner workings. Gazing at his body, his consciousness lit up with curiosity. During the second day after Avrin arrived, he had felt a surge of immense strength and quickly entered to see his body’s inner progress, only to find all the Type 2 Particles were properly completed.

From there, he had taken the time to combine and fuse a Type 3 Particle, but of course was met with difficulty and failure. During the 15 days after his arrival, trying again and again while Kael was training, he had managed to combine and create a Type 3 Particle.

The completed particle was different than the others. It was glowing a deep azure blue with purple trimmings and emitted a magnificent energy. Avrin soon gave the Type 2 C.Particle the order to create it, and now currently around 5% of his body was made up of Type 3 Particles.

“-Interesting. There's no change on the surface, but when looking within, it's a much different world. It takes two Type 2 Particles to create a Type 3 Particle, and its method of perfecting is also the same. It seems like there is no real difference. The only down side is the pace is going to be slow for now. The only thing I can do is try to help my body progress. Let's see now-”

Gazing at the space within his dark matter heart, he saw an expanded particle that seemed monstrous in size compared to the others. It emitted a black static and was bulging and shrinking, as if it were trying to implode but lacked the force necessary for it to do so.

Avrin was felt frustrated as he looked at it. “1 day.. Such a despicable lie…” Showing anger at having been told that the process would take one day. But anger soon turned to stupidity. Avrin had remembered he had control of the dark matter heart’s space, as well as the Nebula Mist that was being siphoned into it at a fair pace.

“I can't believe I missed such an obvious sign!!!” He cried out in disbelief. With only a thought, the Nebula Mist rushed into the expanding particle at a speed many, many times faster than it was before.

Avrin continued this for a minute, before the particle had finally reached it's crucial point, expanding greatly and shining a deep purple, before retracting in a near instant and emitting a pulse that tore open a small space within Avrin.

His dark matter heart emitted a faint pulse of dark light that coated the small tear in space and soon stabilized it from a whirling torrent into a stable dark whirlpool that delicately siphoned dark matter.

Avrin was joyous. This was the first Dark Space within his race, and also a trait that would magnify his power greatly. But with that joy came anger. The reason was the book had never told him that to reach that one day of achieving a Dark Space, he had to personally feed it dark matter at a rapid pace.

Avrin had a hunch that the way he was doing things was at the rate of which someone without the dark matter heart would be able to achieve it, but even then, because he had a natural advantage, the time was much shorter. All he had to do was feed it for an hour before it finally had given in, as it had already built up a significant amount of energy.

Avrin felt that the Dark Space itself had a familiar feeling to the dimension Astaroth was kept in, as well as where he had fought his doppleganger. He felt dark matter build up inside of it, but the feeling was like being connected to someone on the other side of the universe, and with a thought you could bring them to you.

“Incredible… It doesn't seem like it has any end to it. I can store as much dark matter as I want, can't I..” He snickered to himself before blinking. He remembered the object he had thought of earlier.

On the surface, Avrin had only been meditating for a couple of hours, as time flew much quicker. It was the only disadvantage, as he would prefer it to go much slower. Reaching into the enchanted bag again, he pulled out the small object and examined it carefully.

“I guess it's the best option to absorb it quickly” Avrin reached up towards the lip section of the mask, which expanded with the help of some Nebula Mist, before he placed the small object in his mouth and swallowed it.

As it hit his stomach, nothing seemed to happen, but within moments the pebble split open, reacting to Avrin’s dark matter, and began to leak out an enormous amount of dark matter. Avrin felt his body expand a bit, but as if on cue, his Dark Space turned into a raging torrent. The object shattered, releasing all the dark matter it had contained, but the mass didn't stand a chance as it was absorbed without mercy into Avrin’s Dark Space.

Avrin felt his strength increased enormously. His entire body, from the bones to the muscles, grew more durable, his skin and hair becoming more resilient. His Divine Sense expanded, as well as becoming more focused.

Avrin felt that this change was thanks to that strange object. The mass of energy was even enough to stir Astaroth, which danced around quietly with excitement. Avrin’s very own particles seemed to be affected as well, as they kicked into overdrive, increasing the speed as well as precision of creating particles, as if they were re-energized after a holiday.

Avrin hadn't realised it, but the aura he emitted was enough to cause the tunnel walls he was in to distort the mana around him, and also seemed to instantly reform to dark matter, which was soon absorbed by him. Of course, the change itself could not be felt by those with mana, but to anyone else capable they would sense Avrin’s energy reach a monstrous height.

Standing up, Avrin stretched. His bones seemed to creak into place and his body tensed up. His eyes peered through the holes of the mask as he glanced around. His Divine Sense showed him everything in view, from the smallest ant-like creature to the very trees breathing in carbon dioxide and spewing out air.

Avrin had a sense of invigoration and energy, as if he didn't have anything to fear, and he had good reason to believe this. “-No doubt about it… The object was the entire mana mass of Wruen converted into a single sphere of dark matter. If I tried to absorb it within myself, I could have been gravely injured while it leaked out and corrupted the area… It was a good thing I waited for the Dark Space.. It's quite efficient… And now…-”

He snickered to himself before raising his fists to feel for his energy. “-That should have put my current state at a Grandmaster level if I compare it to the Draconian… But with the dark matter in the Dark Space, no doubt I should be able to fight without worry against a Sigil Wielder and even a Dragon. If I'm able to obtain a few more of those small cores, I can skyrocket my progress-”

“Master, you're out?” Kael glanced over. All he had felt was the air go colder, and the tunnel Avrin was in grow darker. He had only turned when he heard Avrin’s footsteps. “Indeed. Glancing at Kael, Avrin was in quite a good mood.

I suppose it's ok to spoil him this once. With the confirmation of this dark matter core, this Enigma potion shouldn't be of much importance, since I should have enough power to obtain Skymetal if I come across another Dragon”

Avrin glanced at Kael once more, somewhat feeling pity for the boy who trained, but barely got stronger. He walked over to the same boulder he had observed Kael from and jumped up to sit on it. He reached into the enchanted sack and pulled out the crystalline vial of the Enigma potion.

“Kael, what is your purpose for wanting to become stronger?” Avrin curiously asked. Kael, who watched Avrin, thought he was acting strangely. Ever since he had met him, he had gotten used to it, but this question made him freeze for a moment.

“My purpose… I want to show those who called me weak…” As he spoke these words, he felt a surge of anger and energy envelope him as he slashed away at the poor tree that ended up being his victim. “That I'm not weak at all!” Continuing a barrage of slashes, Avrin saw he had touched upon a sensitive subject.

“And show them….they were wrong to treat me badly… Especially… Especially him..” Kael clenched the hilt of the Void Sword, his body shaking somewhat. Avrin glanced carefully. “Him?” Kael turned and nodded.

“My father… Before I left...he said...that even though I was the black sheep of the family, he didn't have any expectations for me...and to not push myself far… Can you believe it, Master?... My own father doesn't have hopes for me…” Glancing down at the ground, tears welled up in Kael’s eyes, which soon rolled down his cheeks.

“What sort of father...would say that to his own son?…” Kael uttered out in sadness. Avrin felt bad for him, he had never had a father of his own, but had seen the value of family. Even more so towards his own race. He felt that the feeling Kael had must be much harder. It was this that had made him decide on his next course of action.

Removing the cork of the vial, he emitted Nebula Mist and siphoned it into the potion. The liquid itself stirred and began to shriek violently as it shook in Avrin’s hand. Kael, hearing this sound, turn to look in amazement, despite his face showing signs of crying.

“M..Master, what is that?” Avrin glanced at him and smiled. “This is going to be the very essence of your strength…”
