--------------------
All of Orochi’s eyes narrowed as he glanced around, unable to find who was speaking. One of the heads roared out. “COME OUT, WHOEVER IS THERE!!” Of course, how could Orochi know that provoking Avrin was a mistake.
Avrin, who was still seated, felt as if he could see everything. His Divine Sense was larger and clearer than before. He was even able to detect Septim’s seal which covered the area. Though ignoring that for the moment, Avrin suddenly extended his right hand forward. He had a strange look as he gazed in front of him.
His right pupil seemed to rotate sixty degrees, then rotate back one-hundred-thirty degrees. Avrin could see lines. Many, many thin lines stacked together diagonally, horizontally, left, right, up down, in every direction he could think of. After reaching the Dark stage, which was the Spectral equivalent of the new New Deity level, his dark matter heart had given him insight on new abilities he could access and tamper with.
Avrin’s right hand seemed to distort somewhat as he gripped these invisible lines that felt like a watery fabric. He then pulled this fabric back an inch, as he felt he was unable to pull any further, then he let go. Unfortunately for Orochi, this happened to be one of the near infinite layers of space and Avrin had made sure to pull it in his direction.
The moment Avrin let go, this fabric rebounded back into position like a rubber band. An intense ripple shot out violently, causing the underground cave that Avrin was in to twist and distort. Within moments, a violent explosion shot upward and a banshee-like screech followed as the ripple of space shot toward Orochi.
Orochi, of course, had felt the tremble and shivered. He quickly extended his wings, but he was a second too late. The ripple, although rough and uncontrolled, engulfed his right claw and wing, both of which distorted and crumpled up into a bloody mess. Orochi let out a howl of agony as he twisted and rolled as if he were a headless chicken.
The robed Spectral, who had witnessed this, was truly afraid. He began to flee. Avrin didn’t bother with him. He could find him whenever he wanted, after all. Avrin stood up and, within a few moments, the specks of dark matter in his Divine Sense turned into Nebula Mist, engulfing the unconscious bodies of the purebloods, before he used a Divine Step to transport them to safety.
At this point, Orochi had surged his mana. All his eyes were bloodshot. He knew the attack came from underground. His main head charged up a Terror Burst as another head roared out. “DIE!!!”
The Terror Burst, which dwarfed his weaker kins’, blew down towards the ground, causing it to quake and split. Though Avrin knew Orochi was indeed powerful, he was more so worried for nearby Spectrals. Though a look of maddened delight appeared on Avrin’s face.
“I told him....keep away from the NORTH!” A glint in his eye shone before Limos appeared in front of him. Like a spoiled, gluttonous child, Limos, which had a heavy black glow, let out a shriek of anticipation before it rushed forward, piercing through the already made hole that Avrin’s previous attack had caused that was now occupied by Orochi’s Terror Burst. Limos shot out to meet it.
The Terror Burst had an intense heat and pressure, causing the rocks that made up the walls of the hole to melt. Limos did not falter and soon smashed against the point of the Terror Burst. The draconic beam did not even put up a fight, as it was all being absorbed into the core of this Skymetal weapon.
Orochi’s head, which was firing this, felt that his attack was no longer progressing downwards, and with a grave wound, he was in a maddened state. He quickly dissipated his attack, leaving Limos floating there with a glowing hue that seemed identical to Orochi’s Terror Burst, as if it were enjoying its meal.
Orochi knew something was wrong. He had never encountered anyone able to wound him in such a way. “C..Could a God have descended?... Who are you!” Orochi called out. In a split second, a quick mist of ash appeared not too far from Orochi. This, of course, was Avrin, who gazed curiously at Orochi.
Avrin didn’t attack, he simply spoke. “Where is Azrael?” Avrin hadn’t extended his Divine Sense around Seleria and had focused just on this northern half. Orochi, seeing Avrin, knew that with how casual and unfearful he looked, this was definitely the one who attacked him.
With him being so close, how could Orochi not miss the opportunity for revenge and a sneak attack. “Soon to be following you in hell!!” All of Orochi’s heads suddenly shook before their eyes began to glow heavily. His earth, wind, fire, nature, water, ice, light, dark and original heads shot out their attacks towards Avrin. Whether it be willing the nearby boulders to shoot towards him, or a ray of white light that shot out in hopes of turning him into ash, they all had their own respective attacks.
Avrin glanced towards Orochi before a wide grin appeared on his face. “You’re not very smart, lizard...” With a motion, Limos suddenly appeared again. It emitted a pulse of light and, just like that, the mana contained within all of the attacks suddenly shot towards Limos. Though Avrin was not done yet. Dark matter began to form in his right hand. It took the shape of a single object, just a little longer than a quarter of a meter. This formed into a weapon, a grizzly looking tomahawk with a serrated edge. This tomahawk had a veiny design upon the surface of the blade head, making it look quite gruesome.
Avrin could have used Astaroth or another weapon, though Orochi had attacked his people and had even tried to kill Kael. There was no way he would let him live. In fact, he would butcher this thing.
Avrin used a Void Step, flashing forward twenty meters in the air and onto Orochi’s ice affinity head. Orochi had stopped his attack just a moment before and glanced at Avrin in shock. “GET OFF ME INSECT!!” Orochi felt disgusted and was about to shake Avrin off, though Avrin’s left hand clutched onto the dense, scaled surface of Orochi’s neck with such strength his fingertips dug in and caused blood to seep out, which made Orochi roar in anger and pain.
Though before the dragon could react, Avrin swung toward Orochi’s neck with the void tomahawk he clutched in his right hand while he gave a frenzied look. The blade of the tomahawk formed by the Dark Stage Avrin was a force to be reckoned with. It cleaved into Orochi’s neck. He raised his right hand again, and initiated a second ability he had learned. The space began to distort around his right arm as several phantom-like images of his right arm and the void tomahawk slashed towards Orochi’s already bloody neck.
Though these phantom images did no damage, a second followed and Avrin’s right arm flashed forward in the exact path these images followed. Avrin’s arm seemed to flash several hundred times in a split second and what followed was a mass of blood and flesh as Orochi’s ice affinity head was cleaved off in a not so clean manner.
Orochi wailed in agony as he began to move and shake like a bull, trying to get Avrin off of him “YOU!!! GET OFF ME, RARGGH!” One could see the dragon was truly in pain, and one could also see Avrin was not yet satisfied, but getting increasingly aggravated. Avrin had a weird feeling and suddenly used his Void Step to teleport nearly fifty meters away.
Orochi’s flame affinity head suddenly glowed with runes before it pulsed out and he roared: “Flame Vortex!” Around Orochi, a large, ember-like wind kicked off around him before exploding out into an inferno with him at the center. As Avrin solidly landed on the floor, Orochi’s dark affinity head also pulsed as he gazed at Avrin through the spinning inferno. “Rising Dark Dragon Field!”
Orochi had activated a unique field spanning several hundred meters. As a dragon with nine affinities, he had nine different fields he could utilize, but not at the same time. He had one for anyone who may have a weakness to a certain element. With the field engulfing Avrin and Orochi, the ground turned a shadowy black as rocks began to liquefy in a strange manner.
Avrin was quite cautious. Orochi had the power to fight back, though he just managed to get a good sneak attack in. The field Orochi had placed was quite something. Avrin felt as if his body wanted to melt. No doubt this field was used to decay, but as he coated himself with Nebula Mist it was quite easy to negate.
“You little bastard of a pest!.... How dare you.... Taste my revenge, Shadow Tide!” Working along with Orochi’s dark affinity head, the water affinity head pulsed as well. The liquid that had formed in the field of decay suddenly shot over, forming into a large glob that was nearly a hundred meters in diameter. The most dangerous thing Avrin could see was that this liquid possessed acid properties. “-If I get hit by that it won't be good...-” He thought, before he began to circulate Nebula Mist around him, causing the ground to shake.
“DIE!” Orochi madly shouted, and the large ball shot towards Avrin like a strange, enormous drop of water. Avrin raised his left hand, using all the Nebula Mist he had gathered, and turned it into a flat surface. This flat surface made of dark matter was incredibly wide, spanning at least one-hundred meters.
The moment this drop of shadowy, acid-like liquid dropped down onto the surface, it caused it to crack and tremble violently, but Avrin kept his focus and the flat surface seemed to expand for a moment before springing up like a trap, wrapping around and engulfing the entire liquid drop before it had a chance to spread. Orochi was stunned at him being able to fight back.
“-Who the hell...is this?-” Orochi reluctantly thought. He felt his body shiver for a moment, before anger kicked in. “How about THIS!” While Avrin focused his attention on the sphere of dark matter containing that black liquid, Orochi’s remaining heads all began to glow before they shot beams of mana towards Avrin. This was not any special attack, it was just raw mana only those of the New Deity level and higher could achieve.
Avrin’s eyes narrowed as he watched these eight beams of mana. It would indeed be bad if they hit him, but he simply smirked. Limos appeared before him and created a vortex that these beams were unable to escape. As if space had bended, they all moved towards Limos as it began to devour them. Orochi quickly dissipated his attack before roaring out again in anger, his fire and earth affinity head suddenly glowing together.
Several nearby mountains ripped apart before shooting up over Avrin and forming into the shape of spikes. The moment they appeared, a red hue surged around them and they burst into flames then shot towards Avrin.
Avrin gave a glare before a look of annoyance appeared over his face. He willed the sphere of liquid with one hand and raised his right foot. It blurred, turning into a quick, whip-like, phantom blur. “Dragon’s Sweep.” He kick in an arc towards the flaming spikes. The air split apart and the ground shook before cracking open.
Avrin’s attack caused a heavy wave of air pressure to shoot against these objects, not only dispersing the flame but also pulverizing each spike into dust. The air pressure was intense enough that it continued on and split a large cloud. It was only then that it gradually got weaker until it vanished.
Orochi was stunned. “-What crazy physical strength...-” Orochi’s light and nature affinity head began to glow, but before he could activate his attack, Avrin had already used a Divine Step to appear above the dragon, who noticed him and looked up with anger before all of its eyes widened. “Y..You!” Orochi spoke. Avrin gave a quiet snicker. Behind him, in the air, the large sphere containing the acid-like liquid had also been taken with him via Divine Step. After he was certain of stabilizing it, he wanted to give Orochi a taste of his own medicine.
“Eat this!” Avrin laughed before he gripped onto the surface of the sphere, the veins in his arms tensing a bit before he threw it down towards Orochi's large body like a baseball. Orochi quickly used the glow of his light affinity head to form a barrier of light and mana, but when the sphere collided, it easily broke through the brittle barrier that wasn't fully formed.
Orochi staggered and was about to kick off the ground and use his remaining wing to flee, but the sphere smashed against his body, causing it to pop almost like a balloon, and the black liquid inside splattered all over him. He was not immune to this liquid, so when it touched his scaled body, he screeched in agony as it burnt and began to melt it.
By then he had used his wing to fling himself away, but he rolled around the ground like a worm before roaring in anger. All his eyes were bloodshot and one could see that half his body was bloodied and wounded, though while this attack occurred, Avrin didn't rest.
He had gathered more Nebula Mist above Orochi before forming it into a large, dense cube. Avrin snickered. “You can die now.” Avrin willed the cube to drop down with immense force, almost like a hammer, and Orochi, who was in an angered state, saw this.
He quickly looked up and felt a tinge of fear before he tried to dash away again, though he didn't completely make it and his left leg was caught and smashed into a pulp of meat and bone. The dragon screamed in anger and his heads began to glow as he shouted out. “DIE DAMNIT!!” he was about to fire off these attacks in all directions, but Avrin was not going to let this happen.
Avrin’s right arm seemed to change and shift as it began to augment, increasing in size and looking more monstrous until the size of the arm nearly dwarfed his body. He Divine Stepped over onto Orochi again, near the head he had cleaved off. Avrin dug the large, dagger-like claws into Orochi’s bloody, headless neck and clenched his teeth as veins started to press against the durable, chitin-like surface of his augmented arm.
Avrin’s pupils began to shift from blue to an orange-like hue, showing that God had allowed his dark matter heart to generate frenzied matter as it pleased.
“Shut.....UP!” Avrin roared out before using all the strength in his right arm, lifting Orochi up from the ground into the air at least thirty meters before he swung downward, smashing the large dragon back onto the ground and causing a messy hole to appear with dust and debris kicking off.

Orochi was too stunned. As a dragon, he had never encountered anyone capable of fighting him, even when he was placed into the prison. And when he became a New Deity, this was still the case, meaning he had no real experience in fighting anyone on his level. Avrin, on the other hand, had this experience and even subjected himself to being wounded to test his limits.
Orochi’s organs seemed to shake as the breath was knocked out of his lungs, causing him to be winded. Avrin casually landed on the ground near Orochi’s weakened body, watching the dragon try and get up while gasping for breath.
Avrin’s augmented hand opened as he began to gather dark matter to form into a void greatsword, though Orochi knew that right now he wasn’t in any position to fight. He had been gravely wounded, even losing one of his heads.
“-Impossible.... This.... I need to flee… I need more power!-” Orochi had a wild look in all his eyes as he had an idea. “GET LOST!” Orochi’s flame affinity head’s mouth opened up before shooting a massive fireball towards Avrin.
Avrin frowned before brandishing the void greatsword that looked as if it were a normal blade in his augmented right arm, and swung it towards the fireball, causing it to rip into nothingness and even sending a sharp blade of air towards Orochi.
Though Orochi had simply used this to distract Avrin, he was frightened and had already used his light affinity head and activated a teleportation gate. He quickly used his remaining wing and his feet to kick off and enter, before the gate formed of light quickly shut, just in time to avoid the sharp wind.
Avrin’s eyes narrowed. He then extended his Divine Sense outward. In his current state, his Divine Sense was able to completely engulf all of Seleria, though this meant that the specks of dark matter didn’t form anymore as his Divine Sense was not focused in one region.
Avrin could sense that Orochi’s massive mana signal had appeared over the central continent and in Altea. He could also feel the many dragons gathered there, and also that there were no humans at all. He could only assume Orochi had caused some destruction.
Though Avrin was not so surprised in this regard, when he saw the large amount of dragons, he smiled, showing his teeth as he gave a menacing look. “All gathered in one spot for me, huh?” He suddenly noticed the dim mana traces of some certain individuals. These were none other than the former Sigil wielders. He knew how their mana felt and was able to easily tell it was Azrael, Giron, Syrana, Myra and one other he didn’t know of.
Avrin was somewhat lost in thought for a moment. Meanwhile, above Altea city, the white teleportation gate opened above in the sky and Orochi’s wounded body dropped down before smashing onto some ruined buildings. This shocked the nearby dragons, who glanced at him with fear.
“Big brother? What happened?” A fat, nearby dragon called out. Though in a moment, Orochi’s large tail swung out, smashing that dragon’s head off. As the dust settled from Orochi’s fall, the dragons, who now felt fear, could see the incredibly angered look and even the reddish eyes all eight of his remaining heads showed. “That insect.... That bastard.... AHHHH!!” Orochi’s mana exploded out, causing everyone nearby to feel a sense of helplessness. Though it soon stopped as Orochi’s original head bared its teeth and began to pant. “-No good… I still need time to absorb the Sigil weapons.....though....flesh is quicker… Yes, flesh.... Once I improve and regrow that head, I’ll go tear that little bastard to shreds!!-”
Orochi’s breathing was ragged as he began to drool, and almost as if he had rabies, he was frothing at the mouth somewhat. He glanced over towards the unconscious Sigil wielders, watching the vines glow and pulse with energy, slowly being absorbed from them into a small bud that was attached to the vine.
Orochi limped over towards one of the vines. “A light snack… One that won’t affect the produce much.... Let’s go with the little one, hahaha...” Orochi willed the vines around Myra to disperse and her fragile, weakened body dropped to the ground. Myra woke up and looked completely dazed and ragged. “W..What?...” She mumbled out, confused, before she gazed and saw Orochi, who looked at her with hunger. In fact, all of his heads were currently gazing at her.
Myra felt a surge of fear. She quickly tried to call her Sigil weapon, but found it was of no use and it was gone. Her body began to shake and tears began to well up in her eyes as she watched Orochi’s large right claw grab her and then raise her up. “You should be honored to nourish my body!” One could see Orochi truly showed no care at all. This situation made one wonder why Septim even created dragons.
“Syrana!!!” Myra began to call out, hoping that the only person she knew who was powerful could help her, but she got no response. The tears on her eyes began to stream down her face as she struggled in Orochi’s grasp, watching as she was nearing his large, opened mouth.
Though a voice curiously sounded out. “I don’t see the big deal… She doesn’t look all that nutritious...” Orochi suddenly stopped and quivered, as he had recently discovered who this voice belonged to. His dark affinity head, which was the one about to devour Myra, suddenly rolled its eyes up to spot Avrin, who was casually sitting down on the top of it.
Orochi quivered. “How...d..did you...” Though he was unable to finish as Avrin spoke: “Shut up...” He then reached down with his left hand and pulled on one of the fabrics of space at near point blank range. What followed that rubber band-like effect was a bloody mess. Orochi’s dark affinity head had exploded into bits of meat and gore.
Orochi wailed in pain as the claw clutching onto Myra loosened before he shot back in pain and agony. As Myra’s weakened body began to fall and she screamed, Avrin shot over and grabbed onto her collar while gazing at her with a frown. Around Avrin’s boots was a faint hue of transparent distortion, showing that right now he was not flying but standing on space itself, as if it were a flat surface.
Avrin quietly narrowed his eyes as he glanced at Myra, who quickly glanced back with her sobbing, child-like face. It was then that she realised who Avrin was. Her body quivered. She wasn’t sure why, but she started struggling, to Avrin’s surprise, and managed to loosen herself, wrapping her arms around Avrin and her legs around his hips. From there, she began to cry, tears streaming down her face at full force.
Myra was a Sylph that was old enough to be Avrin’s great great great grandmother, though right now, she acted like a little child. This left Avrin’s face pale in confusion, unsure of what to do. “You’re making this harder than it needs to be....” Avrin quietly mumbled before glancing at Orochi, who had already aimed his light affinity head towards Avrin. “LEAVE ME ALONE!!” Orochi roared again, causing the nearby unstable buildings to crumble even more so.
A white ray of light shot from Orochi’s light affinity mouth towards Avrin, though Avrin simply raised his hand and Nebula Mist surged out like a torrent, forming into a large shield in a near instant. The ray of light collided with the shield. Avrin’s advantage over Orochi was the fact that he had been undetected and underestimated. Orochi indeed had the capability to injure Avrin if a direct hit was made.
The void shield began to quiver, but the ray of light also found it hard to penetrate through. Eventually, Orochi dissipated the ray of light, knowing it would just drain mana. He looked at Avrin strangely, ignoring the two bloody stumps on his neck.
Orochi began to pant nervously and tried to think. “F...Friend....we must have started wrongly.... I am indeed Orochi, though we don’t have to fight.” Avrin glanced cautiously towards Orochi. He was not dumb, and had even seen this tactic used when he was a human general. Though before he could reply, Myra suddenly moved her head away from Avrin’s now stained clothing and yelled straight in Avrin’s face.
“DON’T LISTEN TO HIM!! He defeated all us Sigil wielders and even hurt Syrana!! You have to fight and kill him, otherwise everyone on this planet will be in danger!!” Avrin’s right eye twitched a bit as his ears were ringing a little from her yelling, though hearing her, Orochi suddenly grew angry and afraid, wondering if Avrin would listen to her.
Avrin though gave a sort of neutral answer. “Everyone on this planet? Why is that any of my business? I’m not a savior or a hero. Just like everyone else, I am living my life. What happens is unpredictable, though.” Avrin then glanced at Orochi before continuing. “You tried to attack my people.... You’re lucky I showed some restraint and didn’t butcher you on Ailera. I’m curious, though. Why is it you even attacked them?”
Myra was about to speak, but Nebula Mist engulfed her from around Avrin and teleported her onto the ground, another showcase of Avrin’s improvement in being able to use a Divine Step over beings of mana.
“Why? Well.... I was promised....power.....strange abilities.... I was promised that I could have the same abilities that robed man has!!” Avrin suddenly had an interesting thought. “Ah, so indeed you were bargained with in that manner. Very well. How about I convert you myself. I’m sure you’re going to find that compared to the current you, the new you will be much more useful!”
Orochi looked at Avrin with surprise and shock. He could see that Avrin revealed a warm smile. Orochi felt completely dumb for the situation he had pulled off. He had nearly gotten himself killed when apparently all he needed to do was ask.
The dragons who were watching nearby didn’t dare intervene. They knew if someone was capable of injuring Orochi then they would be no match for them, and hearing that apparently Orochi can be converted to what he wanted to achieve, they felt a small sense of relief, knowing his anger would shrink. Otherwise, one of them may end up like their headless ally.
“Avrin, what are you planning? Are you truly going to give this monster what he desires?” Myra, who had stopped crying, glanced upward to Avrin and glared at him. She then yelled out: “I always knew you were no good!!!”
Avrin ignored her before he casually vanished and appeared not too far from Orochi, who was still cautious. “You truly intend to convert me so easily? Why? As you said, I tried to attack your people.” Avrin simply smiled. “Indeed you did, but like I said once, the converted you will be useful.”
Orochi began to carefully think about Avrin’s words, ignoring the pain and blood that seeped out from his beheaded necks. Orochi clearly was angered, but he still thought. “-Convert and be useful?.... Heh… He thinks I’m going to help them? This bastard.... I’ll kill him first once I get used to these new powers, then I’ll hunt that robed bastard down, and after that, I’ll kill the rest-”
Orochi was clearly delighted at the prospect and eased up a bit. Avrin approached him with a smile before opening his hand. A small amount of Nebula Mist began to congeal and then shrink into a shining, pulsing core of dark light. This was a new method of conversion Avrin had felt was much quicker and more useful.
By having one consume a core of dark matter filled with Type 1 particles, these particles would spread out almost like nanobots and begin the conversion of the body. It was painless and even quicker than the normal conversion.
“Eat this.” Avrin spoke with a smile, and though cautious, Orochi glanced at the orb. Clearly this dragon’s lust for power was often blinding. Avrin threw the orb towards Orochi. One of his heads quickly caught and devoured it in one go.
Everyone was eerily silent. Avrin, though, was expressionless. A minute passed before Orochi began to feel a strange surge of strength. Nebula Mist engulfed him like a dark aura, and Orochi’s body began to grow and change. The stumps on his body that represented his cleaved heads began to bulge as if trying to heal. Orochi, who was originally cautious, was now delighted and roared out, causing the ground to tremble. “Power.....NEW POWER!!”
Though Avrin then shook his head strangely before saying: “You know, Orochi, I just wanted to thank you beforehand for increasing my strength.” Avrin had a slight look of disgust on his face. It was then that Orochi, who was incredibly over the moon, glanced at Avrin in shock. “Increase your power? What do you mea-”
Orochi suddenly stopped talking as he felt a sharp pain, as if his insides were burning. He found his body began to twist and turn as his new darkened scales began to turn jet black and even give off a deep, metallic glow. “Urgh!!...” Orochi groaned in agony. The entire city began to rumble with the shift. “What...have you done to me!!?”
Orochi began to feel his body shrink and condense and he wanted to puke out blood. Avrin frowned a little. “You make it sound as if I’m the villain. You said you wanted to be converted right? I’m converting you into a Dark Core. Though, hmmm..” Avrin gave a fake pondering look, even as Orochi watched in anger. Avrin spoke again.
“Ohh!! You wanted to be a Spectral? So that’s what you meant. After what you did, you expect me to convert you into a Spectral? I truly never thought that the first being I meet at this level would be so stupid!” Avrin then gave a casual chuckle as he looked at Orochi, who had been a towering dragon, but was now only several meters tall.
“YOU KNEW WHAT I MEANT, YOU JUST...ARGGH!!!!” He let out a blood curdling shriek before a crunching sound was be heard, and a few more seconds passed before a thumbnail sized, jet black sphere was hovering in the air. The moment this sphere appeared it pulsed out, causing dust to blow away. Though Avrin looked at it carefully before willing it towards him, and as it hovered over, he grasped it showed a strange look.
“Incredible… This dragon had much more power than I thought. If he wasn't so careless and inexperienceed, he would have put up quite a good fight. I hope I meet more like him.” Avrin spoke, knowing that this special Dark Core would truly be beneficial for him.
-------------------------
(A.N) Orochi was naturally born powerful and hadnt engaged in any conflicts and lacked that experience, even when he devoured the sigil enhancements and sealed by septim and became a new diety he was simply playing with children in regards to the sigil wielders and other dragons, he had no noteable combat experience on his level to nurture himself, so when you put him up against avrin who is the opposite of that then the result is quite obviously orochi losing badly.
