3 pieces of good news!
The artwork i mentioned before is now being worked on, it will be a pre battle scene of Avrin and Orphelium, of course it will show Avrin wearing Sarcanus and also a better view of his face!
The second piece of good news is today is Friday meaning i have time to write chapters, work was quite tiring today so i plan to take a nap before i finish off chapter 152s raw which is 60% complete i had to rewrite it because i wasn't satisfied with it.
The third piece of good news is, chapter two of the well i'm not really sure what to call it, a comic a manga? some people don't call it a manga.... but its read from right to left and the art style is that of a manga, i guess if you want to compromise it can be both? i have never really been a fan of western comics when i think comics i think of DC which has so many different sorts of stories and start ups, then again i'm hoping to get into it starting with DC Rebirth.
Again i apologise about the length of this chapter, 152 will be 4k words long since i now have time. that being said the plot is progressing well from what i can see
Because it hasn't been long since the last release i feel a summary of last chapter wasn't necessary.
Now then enjoy the chapter!

Avrin knew they were surprised and he wanted a laugh, so he played along. “Hmm, is that too long? Very well, if I push myself I'm sure I can get it done between fifteen to nineteen hours.” Listening to Avrin, Urkan was stumped. Creating a Sigil was no easy task; It required runic circles, assistants, preparation materials, evaluations; It had to go through all sorts of quality checks and unless one was skilled, the Sigil would be considered a failure and even the materials would be wasted. Only incredible Sigil craftsmen who had godly skills would be so relaxed as to be able to create Sigil weapons with such speed without going through all the requirements.
“-Just who is this Avrin!?-” Urkan’s mind was riddled with questions, but if Avrin was so easily giving a short deadline he would definitely make the best out of it. “One day is perfect! Your skill must reach the Four Heavens. With my Anzazia group buying goods from you, I am sure we will soar as well, hahahaha! My only regret right now, Mister Avrin, is that I didn't bring any liquor today to celebrate. If you can have that order prepared in one day, my men and I will have the funds sent to Roth village for you; There is no point in me wasting time going back and forth.”
Avrin nodded and stood up, glancing at Urkan one more time before speaking. “One day it is. I will need to take my leave, then. I have quite a bit to prepare.” Avrin began to walk away. Urkan and Sullivan remained quiet after bidding Avrin farewell. “Sullivan, promote Tomios to junior captain; This chain of events was all because of his discovery. I do not doubt Avrin’s skills, my only worry is the Artificer Consortium. Compared to the Highland Syndicate, they are more underhanded…”
“Yes, founder.” Sullivan turned to look at Avrin’s figure disappearing down the hall before it was gone; he truly was amazed at the turn of events. When he had taken his troops out to the forest under Urkan’s words, none of them took anything seriously, but when they were fighting against creatures, these creatures would usually block their blades with their hardened arms or strong skin, but with this Sigil weapons it didn't matter what they had; it was as if they could only dodge or move. If they dared let these Sigil weapons cut them then a limb would surely fly and a wound would bleed.
They reaped a great harvest, especially with the Dark Frost mines. They had used them as a test against a Greenwood mammoth, a creature at the early Grandmaster level. After setting up the Dark Frost mines the Greenwood mammoth, known for its incredibly thick and hard as steel fur and its dangerous ramming strength was provoked to attack them, but the moment the mammoth had charged over the Dark Frost mines it was impaled and died within ten seconds while its body was riddled with large holes caused by the spikes.
Sullivan felt that if any army or force had Avrin on their side they would surely gain a strong advantage. After returning to Calomia’s house, Avrin was in a happy mood. This time, he had clothes for Ilisia and Calomia and also had a new cane made from ivory and gold.
With his Divine Sense, he could see Calomia and Ilisia were playing a game using small rocks on a wooden board that Calomia had spent a year or so to carving. The stew and herbs could be smelt in the air. Avrin had good news for them. But when he was about to take the turn into the path that led to them, he felt the presence of twenty individuals led by one man at the peak Master level. Avrin felt that among them were the individuals that he had scared from Calomia’s home before; no doubt they were up to no good, especially since they looked geared enough to ransack a village.
“Are you sure there is a powerful individual that attacked you? Who would be dumb enough to go against the Artificer Consortium? A man who seemed more like a Viking with a cleanly combed, braided beard spoke. This man wore casual attire but had a large spear on his back, this was the master leading the group of twenty.
“Lord Galum, I swear he isn't normal….he actually broke my blade with two of his fingers just by putting some pressure...I didn't dare attack him without confirming if this was some strange lord…”
Galum, the leader, simply grunted before he spoke. “Useless...don't you know we are in a dire time, and now you're wasting time for someone who is maybe a strange lord? Though your weapon did break….that is evidence enough for me to come see what is going on. Hmm?”
Galum stopped on his mounted beast as he noticed something up ahead. The rest of the nineteen individuals also stopped after their leader halted movement. Galum’s eyes focused in front as he saw a black figure casually step out from behind a tree and walk to the path before standing in front as if he were blocking their way.
“M..my Lord, that’s him!!!” The knight whose blade Avrin had broken pointed towards Avrin with anger as he roared out. “You thought you had gotten away!!! I have returned with Lord Galum to teach you a less-” he was cut off as Galum shouted in annoyance. “Shut your trap!”
The man immediately zipped his mouth as Galum turned to look at Avrin. “Stranger, although my subordinate was wrong….I can see you must be indeed strong, possibly at the Expert level. I do not want to waste time and make enemies, I simply ask you hand over payment for my subordinate’s weapon, his pain, and suffering, as well as step aside and not interfere with the acquisition of the land we are after. We of the Artificer Consortium are not those who seek to rip people off.”
Avrin tilted his head slightly, glancing for a moment before he spoke. “Are you done?” Galum could hear Avrin’s non serious tone. This caused irritation to well up. “Listen here….do not bite off more than you can chew. Not only can you not defeat me, but even if you manage to cheat a victory or escape, the Artificer Consortium always hunts its enemies without mercy!”
Avrin retained his position as he again spoke. “Are you done now?” A vein pressed from underneaths Galum’s forehead. He roared out in anger. “Bastard!! Do you know who you're-”
Galum’s vision suddenly blurred as a smashing sound echoed out. Shouts and roars of the mounts sounded as they were frightened and backed off. Galum’s head was being pressed against the dirt, causing the ground to crack somewhat. Avrin’s right hand was pressing down on the left of Galum’s head. Galum was quiet and stunned as his mouth was parted and his eyes widened, darting around in confusion. He glanced at Avrin, unsure of what happened. He didn't even see him move, it just happened in an instant. Intense fear welled up in his heart.
Avrin moved down, tilting his head to look from the side as he was close to Galum’s head so they were face to face. Through the eye holes of the mask, Avrin looked into Galum’s eyes, which caused more fear to surge through Galum’s heart. None of the troops dared to say anything or even move an inch as they were also stunned at what had occurred. Avrin, who was facing Galum, suddenly spoke. “I said…..are you done?”
Galum’s body trembled and his legs were shaking with terror, but he spoke. “Y...yes...I'm done and was just about to leave….and never return….” Avrin removed his hand from Galum’s head before standing up and speaking. “I'm glad you see it my way. I won't be seeing any of you again I hope.”
His words were straightforward with a heavy threat to never come here again. Avrin began to walk off, and Galum moved his head up to see that it was bleeding a bit, “-Such...a dangerous monster….not even Master would be able to handle him...we cannot provoke this man…-”
The knight who had started this all was amazed and he couldn't help but speak. “L..Lord Galum...what should we do?...” Galum turned to look at him with an ugly expression. “You bastard…’what should we do’ you say?...I’d like to have you beheaded!! Didn't you hear what I said!! We are done and just about to leave!!”

Avrin watched from a fair distance as they began to hurry back. His expression didn't change. It was too early to start a feud with the Artificer Consortium, he didn't want to make acquiring the deed any harder and give them a reason to use the deaths of these people as a way to get it instead. Once he got the deed, then if they entered his property with bad intentions killing them would simply be ridding himself of intruders.
“You can kill a wolf to warn the pack but the pack will fight back with revenge, but if you terrify the wolf it will surely tell the pack that only death awaits them.” Avrin vanished using his Divine Step to go back to a spot where he had placed all the previous goods.
When he returned to Calomia’s home he saw Ilisia was just coming out with an empty bucket to get water to brew some tea for her and her grandma. “Mister Avrin, you're back!! Grandma, Mister Avrin is back early!!” Ilisia shouted out, and the moment she saw Avrin was carrying gifts she rushed over like a small animal wanting attention.
“Mmmm, earlier than I expected. I have good news so I brought you and your grandma some gifts.” Avrin spoke softly, though Calomia had come out as she held her sore back and yelled at Avrin. “Gifts?!! If you think this granny is going to move because of some damn gif-” while she was yelling Avrin had given Ilisia her things then held the exquisite cane in his hand which made Calomia keep her mouth shut.
“You don't like gifts?... What am I going to do with this rare, bone carved cane with gold decorating….tsk...what a waste. I'll return it the next time I go to Roth...maybe I can trade it for something better.”
Calomia rushed over like a swooping hawk and threw her old cane away before snatching the better cane from Avrin’s hand. She looked it over carefully before glancing at Avrin. “Not bad kid...you know how to treat your elders...come, I'll get you some stew!”
The three of them went inside. The table was littered with the gifts as well as a simple bowl of stew that Avrin was eating at a fair pace. His mask was to the side of the bowl and he would occasionally look at their happy faces as they admired the gifts.
Ilisia, after taking in the surprise, finally looked at Avrin and smiled while speaking. “Mister Avrin, you said you had good news, what was it?” Avrin stopped as the spoon that held a chunk of beef was nearing his lips. He placed the spoon down. Not only had Ilisia asked him this, but even Calomia was looking curiously yet quietly at Avrin.
“Earlier in the day, I made a deal with a man. In a couple of days, a deed will be made for this house and one kilometre around it. The deed means that ownership of this land is official. I felt it would be a good gift for both of you. I also felt that I can have my business built closer to here.”
Ilisia’s eyes widened with amazement. “Waa!! Seriously, that’s incredible, uhhh...what does that mean exactly?” She looked a little confused. This was due to the fact that her education was not great.
Calomia cleared her throat and replied. “It means that we now officially own our home...and land stretching from the Redcliff hill I showed you to the stone monument in the forest we saw earlier last year.” Hearing this, Ilisia’s little body shook with amazement, though Calomia continued to speak.
“Why is it you're going so far to help us?” Her question was quite direct. She wanted to know the reason. Avrin continued to eat casually and answered after swallowing a spoon of stew. “If good is done for me, I will be sure to repay my debts as best as I can. Will you allow me to have an establishment built five-hundred meters from here?”
Calomia was stunned. It was Avrin who had done all this but he was actually getting permission from her. Never in a long time had so much good been done for her and Ilisia. Tears began to well up in her dried eyes but she fought to hold them back. “You damned ruffian, bullying your elders….of course!! Of course, you can build it!”
Calomia felt her heart ease up. She and Ilisia had long guessed Avrin was strong, so when he left earlier in the day and returned quickly it wasn't a surprise, they were just glad that someone was helping them and not treating them badly.
Later that night, Avrin was silently sitting down and using Nebula Mist to form a dense, 5x5 inch cube that contained a large amount of dark matter. This dark matter was shifting and changing. If one looked inside they would see that a building was being formed slowly but surely. Avrin’s manipulation with dark matter was growing in mastery as he grew in strength. For him, certain tasks didn’t so much as require training but more so an idea of concept.
This cube that contained the small building was a schematic for Avrin, though he had a sneaky shortcut when it came to building. Although it required a large amount of dark matter the materials used wouldn’t be top of the line, they would simply be stunning and appealing to show his store was of high quality. He wanted to get it right.
Calomia walked over and glanced at Avrin, who didn’t bother hiding much of his abilities anymore. She simply knew he was mysterious but also very powerful. She wasn’t afraid of bothering him at all. “Do you have plans for the future?” She walked over and began to make herself some tea using the kettle that was atop of the small fireplace.
“I do.” Avrin, whose eyes were closed, split his focus somewhat. Though his reply was simple. “When will you be leaving us?” Calomia’s words contained some worry. “....” Avrin wasn’t sure how to respond for a moment, but he replied. “Are you worried? Don’t be. I will give you and Ilisia plenty of riches and protection for when tha-” He was cut off by Calomia, who gave a haggered laugh that turned into a small coughing fit.
They were both quiet for several seconds before she spoke. “Riches and protection....we don’t need that....Ilisia needs guidance....when I die she won’t have anyone.....I only ask that you take her with you....if you do that consider your payment to me paid in full.”
Avrin felt his heart twist slightly. He had indeed grown closer to them both, so when the idea of Calomia passing away entered his mind he felt uneasiness. “Wouldn’t you like to live as long as you can? If I told you I had a method to make you and Ilisia immortal, would you take that offer?”
Calomia slowly sat back against the wooden chair as she took a piece of rolled up silk and began to examine it. “It's been so long since I last saw this....Earth was such a beautiful place....” she spoke softly.
Avrin’s focus was shattered as he heard her words. The cube collapsed and dispersed into Nebula Mist, dissipating into the air. Avrin looked up at her with amazement and a serious expression. “What....did you say?...”
Calomia chuckled softly and stood up as she began walking to her somewhat broken rocking chair. “Immortality is not something for everyone....I simply want to live out the remainder of my life as a mortal. Watching those whom you care for grow old before you...die before you...such a life isn't good.”
With that, she shut her eyes and drifted to sleep as heard by her light snores. Avrin wanted to wake her up but he didn’t dare. Previously, Calomia had looked at him with mysterious questions, but now he himself had just as many for her. “Earth....how long has it been since that name was spoken by someone other than me and him.”
Avrin didn’t want to pursue and ask Calomia questions. She respected his privacy and he should respect hers. As he glanced down at the empty spot on the table where the cube was he simply shut his eyes and began from scratch. Though the word she spoke was stuck in his mind. “-I wonder if it's still there...I want to go that universe and see what has changed....has humanity improved...has it remained the same...-”
Avrin reformed the building again within the cube, though it wouldn’t be too long before things in this region began to stir up for better or worse. It all depended on whoever could take advantage and decide a path.
