Myra was over the moon for a chance to read a relic left behind by her grandfather, a fairy that had been proclaimed as the most powerful Sylph to have ever lived with magic no inferior to abbadon or the demon king. A man who had helped during the first great war and had saved many lives.
A tear was welling up and she seemed like she was about to burst out crying but Avrin cleared his throat to get her attention and she laughed quietly “Hehe..It begins with this. The Heavens are said to be the limits of what us mortals can achieve, and there is no arguing that it is. The heavens where the 8 gods reside and take care of their duties is a place of joyous harmony where departed mortals may meet their makers. But one would be shunned if they were to think there was something beyond the heavens. I shall not shy away from admitting I am one. The sky erupted with a flash and brought down a tear of fire leaving only a mysterious rock no larger then a human arm.
It is strange yet divine, it is menacing yet it is comforting, it is enigmatic yet it holds much. It lies where he rests, as a token of friendship the one k...known as...l...Lung…” Myra stuttered those last names with fear as she began to wobble with the tome in her hands. “I..I’m sorry Avrin, but give up getting whatever is hidden….”
Avrin, who seemed excited that she was able to translate it, now frowned with disappointment at her words “And why is that?” He spoke firmly with no intent to back down. Myra looked him in the eye before giving a faint smile. “Because the one known as Lung...Is a Dragon of this continent…”
Avrin’s heart froze the instant he heard that. Although he was not one to back down easily, dragons, after the gods, were the most terrifying of creatures capable of wiping out armies with a single breathe. Only Sigil wielders were capable of combating them and having a chance. Even then it is unknown.
Avrin was quiet before speaking softly “Myra, where does this Lung dwell?..” Myra’s eyes widened at the fact that he may ask “Are you out of your mind Avrin? to go is certain death and you want to steal from him?”
Avrin thought as he rubbed his chin “Surely a dragon would have no use for a piece of sky metal like that… I’m sure I can offer a trade to him of something more useful.”
Myra seemed to calm down a bit but was still thinking that this idea was crazy. She began to rub her temples as she gazed at him “Avrin, if what you have told me is true, you are an individual with limitless potential...And something like that shouldn’t be wasted if your going to go. I would like to send someone with you. That is my only condition”
Avrin glared at her “Do you mock me, Sylph?...To think I need a babysitter?...” Avrin was annoyed at her by thinking he needed protection like that. Myra gasped and frowned, quietly she said “Avrin, this is a dragon capable of destroying kingdoms….I'm not mocking you in any way, but assistance is always helpful…”
Avrin let out a deep breathe before sighing after nodding. “Before I accept who is it you're sending with me?” Myra seemed to smirk a bit before speaking “She should be here soon...After all, she was the one that helped train Ayame.”
Avrin had a bad feeling, his heart was itching at this “Wait, she?...And helped train Ayame…?” He began to think about the situation but couldn't exactly put it together, but something was telling him it wasn't a good idea. “Heh...Regardless, does the tome say anything else about the sky metal? Anything at all of where it is kept?”
Myra gazed back at the tome and nodded. “From where we left off...It is said its kept within Lung’s chambers, stashed with endless riches accumulated from tribute from creatures of that time.”
Avrin began to ponder about the situation. “To identify something like that will be annoying...I can only hope I come up with a fair deal for the dragon to let him get it for me...Otherwise I’m not fond of becoming a morsel…” He nearly spat out.
A gentle voice was heard outside. “Lady Myra, sir Avrin, your friend has arrived.” A loud voice called out. “What the hell? Avrin??? That bastard is here!!??” It couldn't be. Avrins eyes widened as his mouth opened slightly, his fist clenched and he gazed at Myra, giving her a deadly, icy glare. Myra seemed to avoid eye contact as she twiddled her thumbs together. “Myra you…” Avrin gently spoke to which he looked at the door as it was slid open and almost broke. Standing in the doorway was none other than who Avrin cursed daily under his breathe. It was Syrana.
“-This wench…-” Avrin thought to himself. Syrana then gazed at Avrin and quickly formed eclipse in her hand. “I dont think so…” Avrin spoke before using a shadow step, appearing directly in front of Syrana after a flash of dark light, who gasped in surprise right as Avrin was about to impale her in the stomach. Syrana show at him with an elemental arrow.
Myra called out with her mana bursting forth “STOP!!” Right then they both stopped at the moment they were about to end each other. Avrin came to his senses and took a deep breathe as he backed off, knowing he was better than this. He had held a grudge against her for so long he acted too rashly. It made him almost want to laugh. As he made his way back, he spoke.
“Myra, I hope you don't intend to send this sadistic woman with me…” Syrana glared at Avrin, her bow, Eclipse, still in hand as she had sweated a bit from Avrin’s near instant speed. It had caught her off guard, she felt he was incomparably stronger than before.
“I am not sadistic….Couldn't you stay dead….Endangering the forest, and now you're here in this estate…” Avrin clicked his tongue and huffed as he sat down, recomposing himself before Myra patted the seat next to her for Syrana who just walked over to a nearby wall and leaned against it. Myra sighed and began to talk. “Syrana, long story short...Avrin is now the disciple of Shimaru… And we have come to an understanding..”
Syrana rolled her eyes and gazed off, but she didn't bother arguing. It seemed that things had already been settled. “So what is this with this sending me with him stuff?..” She spoke fiercely but curiously.
Myra then replied. “Avrin found a relic of my grandfather...And it reveals the location of a piece of sky metal.” Syrana’s eyes were focused on the tome in Myra’s hand, then grinned “Oo sky metal. I have yet to see a piece. If I remember correctly Myra, your grandfather was the most powerful of our race. To think he was in possession of sky metal.”
Myra cleared her throat and spoke “It is no longer in his possession. It is with, uhh...Lung” Syrana stayed quiet before a deadly killing intent slowly leaked out. She despised dragons even more so than Avrin. After all, her father was killed by Tiamat.
“So were getting it...And we are fighting Lung for it?..” She spoke with a hungry tone. “There is no we. There is only me and any other Sylph you have at your disposal. I refuse to go with her.” Avrin spoke softly and in a composed tone.
Myra gazed at Avrin “Avrin, please be reasonable. I would go myself but I cannot stay away from my people for long. I must head back soon and take care of matters...And Syrana is the only other person with a Sigil weapon that we have connections with.”
Syrana glared at Avrin “It’s fine Myra, why don't I just go by myself. Who needs him anyway...:” Her words annoyed Avrin but Myra seemed to speak fairly “Syrana, regardless of the circumstances, he found this tome and by right it is his. Besides...Avrin in the future will be a powerful ally, so this sky metal will be a token of friendship.”
Syrana was skeptical regarding Myra’s sudden change of heart, but she figured something must have happened to convince her, and she was someone she knew for several centuries so she didn't argue yet again.
Avrin was also quiet before speaking “Argh...If we are to go together, she isn't to engage the beast in combat...I doubt a silly half Sigil is capable of defeating it..”
Syrana shot a dagger like glare at Avrin as sparks seemed to form between the two “Says the one with no weapon…” Avrin only smirked to himself “If this task goes well, I'll change that using the sky metal…”
Myra’s interest was piqued. She gently scooted closer to Avrin which made Syrana shake her head in disgust. “Y...You know a method to forge sky metal?..” Avrin shook his head. “Not at all. But I know someone who does. “
Myra only gazed with interest before looking at Syrana “Will you go with him?..” Syrana was quiet before she looked away “Fine...But if he or the dragon annoys me they're both gone..”
The deal was settled. Avrin was about to stand up but a head peaked out of the opened sliding door. “T..Teacher?..” A female like voice rung out as she looked towards Syrana with a teary face. Syrana then smiled widely and stood properly. “Ahh, little Ayame. It’s been so long!”

Avrin only let a huh? like sound before Ayame came running in dressed in her kimono before cuddling up to Syrana, pressing her face against her chest as she began to cry with happiness. “Teacher...You haven't visited in years!! Have I been a bad student? I’m sorry!!..” Syrana only hugged her and chuckled softly before smiling. “Don’t be silly. I’m sorry, I've been busy, but I will do my best to visit more”
Ayame smiled as she cuddled up to Syrana before opening her eyes and noticing Avrin. “Y..You bastard! You tricked me!!! Being well off with your words to avoid a duel...You pig!!!”
Avrin clenched his teeth while holding his anger back while Syrana let out a grin while rubbing Ayame’s head. Avrin thought to himself, while Ayame continued to curse at him silently while cuddling Syrana “-It figures both those vile bitches are student and teacher. Both of them hate me too-”
Ayame then smiled at Myra as she gently parted from Syrana and bowed. “Lady Myra, I am glad to see you again” Myra gently motioned with her hand as if to say hello “Ayame, you sure have grown since last time. I'm sure you are much stronger.”
Ayame nodded while holding her right arm as if trying to flex and show off. Avrin stood up. Clearly disgusted by the atmosphere of Shimaru’s so called ‘sacred dojo’ and made his way out.
At that moment, both Ayame and Syrana called out in anger “Where do you think you’re going!!” Before they both looked at each other and smiled, to which Avrin called out while outside “To go hang myself…” He spoke in frustration to those two.
After he exited, he noticed Amias waiting outside. He smiled at Avrin. “Ahh, big brother...I have good news..I couldn’t wait to tell you..”
Avrin gently patted his head as if to fake favor with him and smiled “Amias, you seem quite happy. What is this news of yours?” He then spoke, trying not to jump up and down. “Father and grandfather have decided to send me to the Gaia’s branch academy in the central continent! Can you believe it!!”
(PR Note: It’s official, we now have a Naruto character)
Avrin tilted his head and frowned slightly. It seemed even though he tried not to like Amias, he had a little bit of relation with him and would be somewhat sad to see him go. After all, he was used in plans to keep Ayame at bay as well.
“Congratulations! I’m sure you will grow up to be a powerful shinobi. Use this as a chance to spread your clan’s name” Amias nodded. Confirming that was what he intended to do. Calias then came walking by in a casual outfit that resembled a sort of noble attire.
“Amias, are you ready? We need to head off now if we want to reach the ship by nightfall.” He spoke while having three other cloaked individuals around him. Most likely other shinobi that would guard them.
Amias nodded and smiled “Yes father, I was just saying goodbye to big brother” Calias let a sort of hmph sound as he gazed at Avrin before nodding “Very well, let us be off now. The carriage is waiting.” Amias nodded to which he followed his father towards the outside of the estate.
Avrin knew Calias was jealous of him for winning his father's favor, but it mattered not. This was still only a stepping stone to improve himself. As Avrin made his way towards the main house, he felt someone behind him but with no killing intent. As he slowly turned he was met by a large embrace as well as a large pair of breasts against his chest as he was hugged tightly.
“Sir Avrin!!! Oh how I have missed you. You are so cruel to keep me away from you for so long~” This was none other than Izanami, who seemed to hold even deeper feelings towards Avrin now.
As he tried to push the lustful female off him with annoyance, Syrana and Ayame came out. Ayame spoke “Izanami, can’t you stop trying to get into his pants!? He is a despicable man!!” Syrana only nodded with agreement before speaking “Izanami, why do you continue to go after men. You should find yourself someone and stay with that person. Love is love. Besides, your younger sister is right, this Avrin is worth no female.”
Avrin only glared at the two while Izanami pouted and spoke “Please stop picking on me. I am free to love who I want, and sir Avrin is the one I want.” Avrin had been annoyed quite a lot today even with his good fortune of finding the location of sky metal. He released a small burst of killing intent. He learned how to use it quite some time ago. And Izanami jumped with fright as it was directed at her. She fell on her butt and whimpered while gazing at Avrin who was walking away.
“Izanami, in the future keep, your hands off me please…” She gazed at Avrin and nodded as she seemed somewhat sad, but not much as she was still intending to use Avrin for her own goals. Ayame went over to help her as she then shot a deadly gaze at Avrin for treating her sister like that regardless.
Avrin, after entering the estate, went looking for Shimaru although he said he would trust him, he never had a good opportunity to tell him about himself and it was long overdue. After being directed, he was led to an internal training room where Shimaru was engaging in a Pulsing Dragon position.
His aura emitting a powerful light and presence as his affinity showed to be air, and was quite clear. Avrin sat down cross legged as he waited for Shimaru to finish. But Shimaru’s voice called out “Ahh, Avrin, you're done with Myra? How did things go?..”
Avrin spoke softly “I plan to leave with Syrana with intention to go find the dragon Lung.” Those words caused Shimaru to break his Pulsing Dragon meditation, which was dangerous if done quickly. A trickle of blood came down the side of his lips but he kept his composure.
“For what purpose would you go to seek your demise?..” Avrin sighed softly as he let a small gulp out. He knew Shimaru was the type to beat him near death to stop him from leaving. “I seek an audience with it to trade something for a fragment of sky metal it wields. I do not seek to combat it.”
Although Shimaru had read that dragons were mostly rational and easy if not angered or provoked, he still didn't like the risk. “And why should I allow you to go. You are my disciple after all, I would rather you train for 5 more years before even thinking of doing so…”
Avrin began to think, that was until he had an idea. He had planned to tell Shimaru about himself without cost but now he could use it as a chip. “If I come back successfully, I will promise to tell you about myself and who I am.”
Shimaru knew Avrin wasn't the type to offer useless things if it was regarding who he was. It would most likely be something important and worth him offering as he was going to risk himself with an audience with a dragon. Shimaru only huffed and began to think. “What would you do with sky metal anyway Avrin? There isn’t anyone capable of forging it”
Avrin only smiled and nodded. “There may be a way to forge it, but i won’t know unless i have it, teacher..Please let me leave for this task.” Avrin knew he could leave whenever he wanted but he felt he owed this man a lot and over the years of training he came to know honor and pride were what made a person. It was something he wanted to be recognised for as well.
Shimaru chuckled softly “Ho ho ho, very well Avrin. How can I deny my disciple. Then, when you return, you will explain yourself to me..”
Avrin smiled and stood up. “Avrin, before you go, take this with you.“ Shimaru went over to a table and picked up a dusty book which seemed like a sort of manuscript. “I had intended to give this to you tomorrow but it is better now since there will be no time. I expect you to learn it on your travels…”
Avrin gazed at the book as he felt it was something that was priceless. “Teacher, what is this?..” Avrin opened the book before widening his eyes, seeing descriptions of attacks and stances as well as techniques he had never heard of before.
“Although you were trained away from the other students and shinobi for 2 years, I taught you all that they know and learned. This manuscript is something my grandfather passed down to my father and from him to me...I had intended to give this to Calias but...I feel he hasn’t truly deserved it...So I want you to have it for now…If I was to judge its rarity Avrin, it is easily of legendary value… I expect great things when you return, so train hard…”
Avrin tilted his head and smiled “I am honored, teacher, and thankful for your assistance over the years. Avrin began to devour the manuscript as Shimaru gazed with a gentle interest. He had found out Avrin was capable of absorbing books and reforming them in the 1st year. His reaction was shocked as he spoke of the many benefits this could reap but was saddened after Avrin declined.
After Avrin said his farewell to Shimaru, he went over to his room and gazed at his belongings that he had not seen for these 2 years. They had gathered some dust, only because no one was allowed in this room, not even to clean, until Avrin returned.
Avrin began to tidy up until a knock was heard on the door. As he continued he spoke “Come in..”
From the door as it creaked open, Ayame walked in and shut it. Having a stern look on her face. “Avrin….Please let me come with you and Syrana!!”
Avrin stopped for a moment before chuckling softly and speaking in reply….
