P.S) I cant help bring up how weird this feels to know that i have thousands of readers, i know compared to many great web stories out there this is nothing, but it truly is something meaningful for me.

I was quite a bade writer and its thanks to all of you that i have improved greatly, i learn likes and dislikes from all the comments and pms i receive as well as how to write scenes that appeal to you guys, again thank you for making this a reality for me, that being said i often see a few nasty reviews and such for new authors, i only humbly go easy on those folks and nurture them like you did for me i believe everyone deserves a chance at this and people take large risks putting something that they may think is embarrassing out there, writing starts off easy but as you progress it becomes really daunting when you know you have many readers to please.

Avrin glanced eagerly at the chunk of Skymetal, but he had long since learned his lesson about greed. He acted calmly and simply ignored it for a moment before emitting Nebula Mist. The sight of the mist caused the four gods to tense up and look at him strangely, but the mist moved to Azrael’s corpse, engulfing him.

The mist converted him into a Dark Core. Of course, Avrin had no intention of devouring it. In fact, a piece of information he had discovered was that Dark Cores could be reverted back to their original makeup, though with his current strength, only a corpse with no life would be returned. In this case, Azrael was dead, but Avrin felt some sympathy and would return him to his daughter, who he knew was alive.

“What a strange ability.” Septim curiously spoke. Tialoc glanced cautiously at Avrin. “An Enigma user?” Zephiron, who took a deep breath, simply shook his head as he walked away from Avrin while keeping his guard up. “No. He’s something else.” Zephiron felt fear of Avrin, as he would have died. But this fear also contained anger towards this pest that brandished his weapon on him.

As they watched the Dark Core made of Azrael move to Avrin’s hand, they listened as they heard Avrin speak. “Skymetal… You know I have interest in Skymetal. You’ve been watching me for longer than I thought.” Avrin softly smirked before putting the core away.

Septim glanced over at Tialoc and Mallaku, and both of them vanished in mist-like blurs. “Skymetal? Oh, you know how to smelt it but not of its name? Do well to remember this name. In the five universes we refer to this as God Essence.”

Avrin’s brows furrowed a little. “God Essence?” He then remembered the scene that God had showed him when two gods’ essences collided and fused during the creation of this universe.

“Well, follow me. I’m sure you’re curious as to why I brought you here.” Septim glanced at Zephiron who had a berserk-like look in his eyes from Avrin’s previous actions. Clearly Septim’s gaze told him if you try anything to ruin this for me the consequences will be dire for you.

Zephiron grunted before he also became a mist-like blur and vanished. Avrin, although cautious, knew that if Septim understood what he can do then he would not dispose of him. Not yet, that is. So he followed Septim across the palace.

After they exited the hall, they began to walk casually throughout the palace. Avrin was amazed at how wondrous it all looked. He spotted many plants and decorations throughout it all, as well as clouds actually being used to support the palace and even connecting it to a garden with several beautiful flowers and trees that may as well be as old as the planet itself. The architecture seemed a little strange and reminiscent of ancient greece and rome. It made Avrin quite nostalgic.

Septim conversed with Avrin as they walked. Avrin came to know the names of the gods, though he knew the one he almost killed was Zephiron. He also knew the ones that stopped him were Tialoc and Mallaku, as well as the one he was following being Septim.

A full minute passed until Avrin entered Septim’s personal room. It seemed quite empty, other than a few furnishings, being his large throne and a beautiful table that resonated with a glow that shined like white jade. And, of course, the viewing pool he no doubt used to observe Avrin.

Septim flicked his finger and the chairs at the white table slid out. He then walked over and took his seat before glancing at Avrin. Septim casually placed the chunk of white Skymetal onto the table. Although the table had a beautiful white glow, compared to the veiny energy lines of the Skymetal, the table seemed dull.

Avrin walked over and took a seat, remaining quiet as he looked at the Skymetal, then at Septim, before speaking. “Well, here we are. You know I want God Essence, but I do not know what you need from me?”

Septim smiled and then folded his fingers through each other, shutting his eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath. “You possess very fearful weaponry. That scythe of yours, and that other object, which would have been my end had I lingered for a moment more.”

Avrin’s pupils shrunk and his body tensed up. Hearing Septim bring this up directly after Avrin mentioned his need for God Essence, Avrin quickly assumed he knew what his weapons were made from. But he was confused in regards to him mentioning Limos. He thought for a moment as to why it would have been his end, but then remembered when it had reacted to the brand on Avrin’s forehead. Avrin could only force a smile. “I can’t say that you’re wrong, but this really does not answer my question.”

Septim nodded. “I’m getting to that now. Though I have to let you know that what you possess are not toys. God Essence. Do you know the origin of this strange, living metal?” Avrin had some knowledge, but he felt that if it wasn’t complete, then he should enquire on a bit more. “I can’t say that I know much, other than it is formed by the backlash of opposing egos and choices belonging to two gods.”

He wasn’t sure if he was to laugh or cry, as he felt Avrin’s words were a clear understatement. “Boy, listen up. I have quite a few plans to raise my standing, and I can promise you that if you tag along and assist me then you will also not fall behind. God Essence is indeed formed from the strength of two gods.

In the most ancient of texts from the ancestors of all five universes, there are several mentions of God Essence. It may be in a different language, but how it was formed is all the same. During the creation of each universe, beings of great power representing that universe’s balance are formed, ranging from New Deity all the way to Cosmic Entities, which are monsters beyond comprehension.

These paragraphs of ancient text are told by those who were birthed from the creation of each universe. They witnessed something strange, several natural beings at the Cosmic Entity level collided with each other, as if on purpose, smashing together. Being in raw, natural states they melded together and shot out, breaking into fragments of what we call God Essence.”

“Five universes.... Universe balance?” Avrin quietly muttered in confusion, but continued to listen. Septim saw this and started speaking again. “These fragments possess parts of power. Each fragment contains part of a Cosmic Entity’s strength, and each fragment is formed from part of two Cosmic Entities.

Do you know what the number of Cosmic Entities ever, since the conception of the five universes until this very day, is, Avrin? Everything is so old that a million years is as common as a star in the sky. I myself am only a few hundred thousand years old and have only reached this state through hard work and resources.”

To Avrin, each bit of information was like a piece of gold. His heart was beating quite quickly. It was as if his view of everything was expanding. He wasn’t sure what to think, but he knew Septim had a point, so he remained quiet, as if he telling Septim to continue. “Avrin, there are three Cosmic Entities that have been alive since the conception of the universe this is common knowledge.

In all five universes, there are only these three. None have ever perished in battle, none have ever been destroyed. These three are beings so powerful that if one wanted, the universe that birthed them can also be ruled by them without challenge by anyone. You have two weapons formed by fragments of two beings of that level. Do you understand what those rulers will do if they find out you can forge God Essence?”

Avrin’s face remained solemn for a moment. He could not imagine how powerful these so called rulers were, but if they were weaker than Cosmic Entities, no doubt they would be at the level of his grandfather or even stronger. “Is it truly a reason to kill me over? It’s simply whoever obtains it will be able to use it. I don’t see-”

Septim interrupted Avrin as he laughed out, causing even the palace to shake. “Haha, hahaha! Boy, you don’t know, do you? Incredible! I never would have guessed.“ Septim rubbed the bridge of his nose and gave a sort of greedy yet excited look.

“I’m sure if I knew what you were laughing at, I wouldn’t be as annoyed as I am right now.” Avrin responded, not really sharing Septim’s enjoyment in this situation. Septim looked at Avrin and picked up the piece of God Essence before speaking. “God Essence, formed when Cosmic Entities collide and fuse together, then explode out into fragments which we know as God Essence. The only issue is, no one is able to use it for anything. No one can absorb power from it, no one can devour it, no one can forge it. It’s as if owning the most delicious fruit ever that is hidden behind an unbreakable glass wall. No matter what you do or how hard you try, you won’t ever be able to touch that fruit, and sitting in front of me is a being that is capable of breaking this barrier and devouring this fruit. A being I could kill easily.

Let me tell you, Avrin. If any of these rulers find out about your ability to forge God Essence, they would most likely do one of several things. One would be to recruit you and shower you with whatever you desire, the next would be to kill you out of fear you may cause imbalance in power, the next would be to find out exactly how you do it, threaten those you care about and do whatever it takes to find out. The last would be to manipulate like a puppet using their own techniques in hopes of being able to do so.”

Avrin’s expression flickered for a moment. He felt that everything at this moment crushed down on his shoulders. All he had to do was remember God, someone above everything, and compare him to those who may want to try those things against him, and suddenly he wouldn’t feel so impressed in regards to them anymore.

Avrin carefully glanced at Septim. “The only question I have is, which one are you?” Septim looked at Avrin, his expression turning more serious as the smile on his face vanished. “The first one, of course. I would have never guessed that this farm planet where little lizards run amok that a true dragon would be born. Your Enigma ability is truly useful. Dissecting you for your Enigma Core would be a waste!”

Avrin showed a strange expression. Suddenly, things began to make some sense in regards to Seleria. “A farm planet? What do you mean?” Avrin didn’t answer Septim’s “recruitment” request. Right now, what he needed was some answers.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

“I feel it would be better to show you.” Septim simply laughed before he stood up and clicked his fingers. Two runes suddenly began to glow under his and Avrin’s chair and within moments they both vanished, being transported away.

When the bright light vanished, Septim gave a casual glance around while Avrin looked on, his eyes widening at the shocking sight in front of him. “What.....is this place?...!!” Even he, who was hard to surprise these days, had shown a look of horror. Even in his past universe he had never seen such a sight.

In this enormous room, on each wall was a small indentation, and in each indentation was a bubble sphere with a person inside, representing one of each race on Seleria, excluding dragons. The only difference was they all had two things in common. They all had holes in their chests or missing limbs, and they were all dead.

“This is where we collect and dissect our cattle for Enigma Cores.” Avrin had witnessed many gorey sights in his two lives. He wasn’t sure how to react in this situation. He simply gulped in disgust and looked around. He spotted another wall with five people, four of which he didn’t know, but one he had met once before. This was Gregson’s daughter, the owner of the Mana Beholder, Larissa!

“Cattle? Enigma Cores?” He finally felt that not everything was so bright. This world started to make sense. Why else would gods waste their time here when they had many other places to explore or even grow stronger.

“Indeed. I represent King Lestyn’s faction, one of the four ruling kings under Emperor Adrinius, who is one of the four monarchs that rule this universe. In this universe, power is law. At first, me and the other eight were lost as we wandered around. That is, until we came across King Lestyn.

Avrin, this universe may be the youngest, but that isn’t to say our naturally born gods are weak! King Lestyn was already on the border between High Deity and Elder Deity. No doubt he is much stronger now, and because of that strength we sought protection, and he gave us a task. Emperor Adrinius gave King Lestyn Seeds of Life he received from unknown sources.

And because of these seeds, which King Lestyn then bestowed upon us, with the task to bring up Enigma ability users and return every thousand years or so with a set amount, we had little choice in this matter. We spent several hundred years searching for a suitable planet with little assistance of our king. Until we found the Primordial Planet Seleria, which was not as beautiful as it is now. With these Seeds of Life, we nurtured it, and were able to use the seeds to create the races you know of today.

Avrin felt sympathetic to the races and living beings on Seleria. Their existence was not a good one. They were created and raised from some strange seeds only to be used as cattle for farming Enigma abilities to be given to some king.

“All in all, Avrin, after explaining what you are capable of to the other gods, I feel with you being included in our faction, not only would we benefit but you would as well! Forget about this small rock of a planet. You will one day travel without boundaries with gods to command at your whim.

Avrin remained expressionless as he began to think. Septim’s deal really was not at all bad, but this man and his leader were morally disgusting. Avrin was no saint, but if you could help those who needed it without losing anything yourself, then would one pass that up? Only the most evil and heartless of individuals would not assist those in need even when they would lose nothing.

Avrin was about to give an answer. That was, until his heart froze as he looked over in the distance. He spotted the female god Ishana with her palms over the limp body of a boy not all that different from Kael. As Avrin glanced at this boy, his body tensed up and he used his Divine Step to vanish. This caused Septim to panic again, and he rushed over towards Avrin, who had appeared beside Ishana, but stopped as he viewed Avrin’s action.

Ishana, who was focused on extracting a small globe of light from this boy’s head, was suddenly blown away, her body smashing against an empty portion of the wall. She coughed out some blood and looked frustrated. She was about to curse at whoever it was that attacked her,

but when she saw Avrin, who was looking at her with a deep urge to kill, she could understand why Zephiron had not acted against him. Zephiron was not one to cower from provocation when attacked, even under Septim’s orders. But looking at Avrin now, Ishana knew that it would not be Avrin who would be dead if a fight broke out.

“W...What are you doing!?” The woman shouted. Avrin ignored her and turned to look at the boy, watching the globe of light fall back and seep into his head again. Avrin recognised this boy. He was Shimaru’s grandson and Ayame’s brother. It was Amias, who was supposed to have headed to Gaia academy, but was here. Avrin felt a deep sense of regret. He had never really treated this boy well, even when he tried to befriend Avrin. Thinking about it carefully, Avrin felt Amias would make a great Spectral.

Avrin raised his hand before Nebula Mist shot outward towards Larissa’s containment area, and the bubble-like holding was ripped out from the wall, moving to Avrin. “If you touch these two again, regardless of who is here, I will make sure I kill as many of you as I can before you stop me....”

Septim did not take this threat lightly. He did not know how powerful Avrin was right now, but he knew that the weapon he had encountered years ago was capable of absorbing his mana at an astonishing pace. Not only did he assume Avrin could kill several of them, he even had thoughts of Avrin being capable of killing them all.

“Avrin, please calm down. Let us not repeat what happened before. Ishana did not know that these two are your acquaintances. If this is the case, you are welcome to take them back with you.”

Avrin glared at Ishana who, despite looking fearful, clenched her teeth and dusted herself off before frowning and yelling at him. “You think I want to do this?! How else am I supposed to keep myself alive. I must do my share of work!” Frustrated, the peak New Deity goddess suddenly surged her mana in anger, causing the room to shake, before she huffed and vanished in a haze of white light.

“This offer of yours… It is no doubt appealing, but the methods you use to handle things, not so much. Though I am not one to make a rash decision in a deal like this, I want to ask you, Septim. Do you not feel any sadness or shame for what you are doing to these people?”

Hearing Avrin’s words, Septim had felt it would be a sort of unappealing conversation. “Just as Ishana said, Avrin, we only do what we have to to live. There are many Deities like us out there, and we arent anything special, simply workers on a farm that are expendable. Regardless of wrong or right, this and all the other universes are eat or be eaten. The one truth that is unshakeable by anyone is that the strong make the rules and the weak, like us, abide by them.” Avrin didn’t refute this. Septim was right, but it left a bad taste in his mouth. It made him remember the Spectrals and their reasons, saying the gods had abandoned them when in truth it was not just them but the entirety of Seleria, which the gods never really cared for.

Avrin felt that this King Lestyn and these monarchs of this universe allowed things such as farming the weak Enigma users for their own purpose. They were truly not people he wanted to befriend. Such individuals would only stab him in the back or remove him when he was not needed. Not only that, but he needed to ensure that his people’s survival was guaranteed as well. This meant that the fewer who knew of them the better.

“This universe must be vast. Can you tell me how well hidden this planet is?” Avrin spoke in a cautious tone. Septim thought for a moment. “If you are worried about those powerful beings, do not fret so much. Since the day this planet became a farm, Monarch Adrinius has already laid claim to this part of the universe, meaning that anyone who attacks here will be waging war against him. Not only that, but we are near the outer sector, not too far from the boundary of the universe.

“Perfect.” Avrin gave a hidden yet sly like smile. “Septim, ten years. Give me ten years to think this through and you will have my answer.” Hearing Avrin’s condition, Septim furrowed his brows. Though he still had some time before he and the others had to meet back with King Lestyn’s representative, it was a touchy subject of time, even for him, a High Deity. “Ten years.... This is a bit long, Avrin.”

Avrin, of course, had a plan. Though he needed more time to handle some personal matters, right now he had no choice but to continue to train and train until he became powerful enough that he didn’t need to fear these gods. He was certain that in ten years he would be able to cross a threshold in the Dark Stage and reach a point where, although his level would be equal to Septim, it would be like him crushing the Sigil wielders all over again.

Avrin had no interest in staying on Seleria for any longer than he needed. In fact, he wanted to pack up and take his people as far away as possible, where no one inhabited. Only like that would his people find some safety and he would not find trouble.

“Five years, but I also want that chunk of God Essence.” Avrin smirked. This made Septim frown a bit and think. He knew Avrin’s ability was worth it, but he himself was not done. He had seen Avrin’s increase in strength, and this rise of power within several years was quite scary, but he also knew not to make an enemy of Avrin.

“Avrin, please see my position. I am simply trying to keep myself alive. It is not wrong for one to do so, correct? Three years and I will give you this piece of God Essence. This piece alone would make the monarchs ravenous and crazy. I would be executed within a moment for not revealing my possession over it. Despite it having no current use, it is still considered a priceless treasure only those peak individuals can flaunt. I’m quite lucky that no one has discovered it.”

Avrin grumbled quietly and then thought for a moment. “-When I return, I’ll give those smaller Dark Cores to Kael and Asura. This should help them reach the Mythical level, though I still have to settle matters with Larissa and Amias, as well as Azrael’s body. Hopefully Shimaru and Lilia are both fine. Every second counts. With this Skymetal chunk, Orochi’s core and three years of time, it is more than enough to increase my strength to late or even peak of the Dark Stage. When that happens, how could these so called gods hope to stop me?-”

Septim looked over at Avrin carefully. He was feeling a little nervous. Never in his wildest dreams would he imagine that such a golden goose would present itself to him, but he suddenly recovered from his thoughts as he heard Avrin speak.

“It’s a deal.” Avrin forced a smile while looking towards Septim. Not at him, but at the God Essence in his hand, wondering what this piece will provide him with. If Astaroth and Limos were only fragments of a Cosmic Entity, then if he could retrieve all the fragments, just how powerful would those weapons be?

---------------

(A.N) with this slight info dump i hope you all have a broader view of what i plan for spectral regalia, you can see that seleria was just one small planet on the outer reaches of one galaxy in 1 universe, with this said and done we arent even close to reaching the half way mark of the good stuff with each step taken forward i can get closer and closer towards tags i had to remove for now, such as romance aswell as a small harem, but that being said you should know that the harem i intend to do has to have story value and seem logical something to make you the readers not feel that it is forced, so i truly hope you enjoy it when that time comes :)
