--------------
Despite blocking one blow, the force of the punch sent a small shock wave that was felt throughout the entire room, causing everyone watching to take a step back after. They were lucky enough to not be on the side that the wind blades had shot towards.
“Everyone, step back!” Felia called out as they retreated back several dozen meters. “-Avrin, can you really defeat that monster?-” Felia reluctantly thought in her head. Avrin didn't hesitate to act after blocking that fist. He knew that if it got him down like it's brother had, it would be devastating for him.
Emitting Nebula Mist into the area from his body, the Draconian was already preparing to strike again, pressing it's hands together and smashing towards Avrin. “Shadow Pillar!” He uttered out, using the Nebula Mist to form a Shadow Pillar in front of him that shot towards the Draconian.
With the two forces colliding, the Shadow Pillar cracked and shattered, but it negated the attack as the room shook again from the force of the attack of the Draconian. Avrin quickly gained his balance and jumped out, not hesitating to gather more Nebula Mist from the mana around him.
“-Not good. I can only barely hold off against him with this form-” The Draconian stood up and laughed. “I'm having a lot of fun, demon… Entertain me a little bit more..” Avrin’s face darkened a little. “-No choice… This is something I have no hand in-”
The space around Avrin distorted slightly, as strange glowing balls of light in all sorts of colors were seemingly ripped out of thin air. The Draconian’s eyes gazed with caution.
“-How is he utilizing mana in such a way?.. Is he a mage of sorts? What dark magic is he using?-” Unsure of what Avrin was doing, the Draconian dashed towards him, it's large, beast-like foot crushing the ground underneath it as it made a dash towards him.
“Grn!...” Avrin felt a slight change in his body, as his skin darkened even more while his body seemed to change and grow a little while his fingers grew claw-like nails, his hair turning from silver to a deep purple as dark matter coursed through it.
“-W..Why does it hurt… Haven't I used this before?..-” Avrin thought, coughing slightly. Unaware that the reason he was experiencing pain was due to his particles evolving, and changing his form had also changed and grew stronger than his past form, requiring his body to get used to it again.
“-Still...I can still go further, but..-” Gazing at the Draconian, who seemed to slow down enough for Avrin to see it clearly, he grinned before he dashed with frightening speed toward the Draconian, before his hand skimmed across the air as if he had tore into space. He grabbed a handful of darkened Nebula Mist before smashing towards the Draconian’s fist with his own.
The force of the attack caused Avrin to blow back several dozen meters, as his bones shook significantly. He felt his organs ripple somewhat. The Draconian, who was blown back 2 meters, felt it's fist was quite sore. It looked at Avrin with shock.
“-This power?...How did he get so strong?... What dangerous magic… I should finish him-” Clovis stood, up watching it all happen. “Incredible… Was… Was he holding back against me?…. Just how strong is he?...”
Kael watched with a wide smile on his face. “Master Avrin is incredible… I'm sure he can defeat the Draconian..” Felia, although happy that Avrin was putting up a better fight against the Draconian, was still worried inwardly. “-Could he have really been a demon?...-”
The Draconian gazed at it's sore fist and laughed quietly. “You're quite surprising…. Yet you are only worthy enough for me to show you my abilities..” The Draconian’s body soon radiated a yellow glow, before it punched its fist into the ground, causing a large chunk to churn towards Avrin at a rapid speed.
“Tsk..” Skimming his hands against the air, distorting space and pulling out another handful of the darkened Nebula Mist, he dropped it all onto the ground before a jet black Shadow Wall formed in an instant, blocking the attack. But only for several moments, before it shattered.
“-Still?... Still not enough?.. Just how powerful is it..?-” Avrin showed an expression of shock. He looked to see the Draconian had vanished from sight. “-It was there a mome--” Avrin felt an intense pain, as his body shook. He turned to his side and saw a large gauntlet engulfed fist crushing against his side.
Avrin was blown away, his body skimming against the floor, before he hit a torch, knocking it down and then stopping, as his body stopped not too far from the wall. He gasped for air as he wheezed in pain, coughing up a mouthful of purplish blood that began to eat away at the ground as soon as it landed on the surface.
“-How..did he get so fast?..-” Avrin raised his hand quickly, reabsorbing the dark matter, that was a significant portion of his blood, enough to cause it to turn purple, showing just how much dark matter was currently infused in him.
The Draconian stood where Avrin had just been, it's legs glowing a bright yellow. “This skill is called Earth Distortion. It allows me to travel much quicker when I'm on an earthen surface, using the mana that makes up the land as a boost”
Avrin forced himself up, feeling his wound had already started to heal. He wiped off the trail of blood that had turned red due to the dark matter being removed from it. “-Indeed. It would of been weird if he didn't have any skills and focused on just raw strength. I should be careful..-”
The Draconian soon turned into a blur, with only a streak of glowing yellow light shooting towards Avrin. Raising his hand to forcefully grab the mana in the air and convert it to dark matter, he opened his palm as a purple light shot from it, forming several dozen Void Spheres that floated like droplets in the air.
He willed them to encircle him as a sort of defence, barely managing in time, as the Draconian appeared right on the outside of the sphere’s radius. Wasting no time, it swatted it's hand that had already been engulfed in mana, for safety, against Avrin’s dark matter.
The Void Sphere exploded, covering the hand of the Draconian in dark matter, stopping him in his tracks as he jumped back to fight it off. “You little…” Avrin snickered inwardly, before pointing his right hand towards the Draconian, all the Void Spheres firing towards it.
The Draconian grinned. Being a Grandmaster, it was not a fool, and had set Avrin up and played him. It's mana surged, easily removing the coating of dark matter, before it turned into a yellow blur again, appearing above Avrin.
“Shit.” Looking up, he grabbed 2 more handfuls of darkened Nebula Mist, causing the room to lower in temperature slightly. “Earth Vice.” The yellow mana from it's hands shot around Avrin, who quickly looked around, as he was trapped within it's glow.
The light didn't stop, as it caused the earth around Avrin to churn, before shooting upwards, forming a pillar made of air that soon hardened, capturing Avrin within. The Draconian landed beside the pillar and chuckled lightly.
“You were caught so easily?.. With only that earth magic?” Inside the pillar, Avrin sighed in relief. He had used the Nebula Mist he had already to engulf himself and eat away at the earth that tried to pierce upward and crush him, creating a small hole for him. “-He’s still toying with me?...-” Feeling a tinge of anger, a vein appeared on Avrin’s head, as dark matter began to gush out of him.
The earth pillar that spanned a 10x10 circular shape began to change in color, as dark matter began to devour it and siphon it's energy to Avrin. The Draconian’s instincts kicked in, as it quickly used it's wings to blow forward, jumping back just in time as a purple light shot towards where it had just been, turning the area to ash and melting downwards.
The Draconian glared. “How dare you…. You even try to damage the inner sanctum!” The earth pillar soon crumbled to reveal a jet black humanoid figure with rough, alien-like skin. It's hands were large and claw-like, with the claws themselves glowing purple.
The creature's body began to glow purple as it turned towards the Draconian it's now full purple hair swaying slightly. “-S..Shit, I can barely...control my consciousness… I knew it was bad to push further...but….a field test is nice…-”
The Draconian suddenly grew somewhat nervous as it gazed at Avrin in his proper augmented form. “A demon indeed… Only your kind could use such vile magic on themselves…” Avrin felt a surge of pain in his body as he gazed at the Draconian.
“Please….die..” He spoke with no real hint of care in his words. He turned into a purple blur, before appearing near the Draconian, who gasped at the sudden change. “-Indeed. Just like before, much faster…. As much as me now..-” Raising his hand, the Draconian punched towards Avrin.
Avrin’s claw like hand swatted against the Draconian’s fist, changing its trajectory to smash downwards. “-WHAT!?-” Avrin gazed at the shocked creature, before his body spun in mid air, his right leg smashing against the creature's head.
“!!” The creature felt a blunt pain, as it was caught off guard by Avrin easily hitting it's fist away with his claw. The Draconian’s body spun in mid air, before it smashed against the ground a few meters away.
Avrin landed softly on the ground as he spoke out, his voice somewhat ghostly. “I...may look like a monster...but I...can still think...and use martial skills… Your reaction time is no different to mine...meaning when it comes to hand to hand combat...you're no match for me..”
The Draconian stood up, as it placed its large scaled hand on it's face, before moving it to see that it was covered in green blood. It began to laugh at the sight, as well as Avrin’s words. “Martial skills?... Lets see how far that gets you with this!!”
The creature's hands smashed into the ground as it channeled it's mana into it. A large section of the earth was easily pulled out, and then thrown towards Avrin as if the weight itself didn't matter.
“A primitive attack won't work on me..” Raising his hand, darkened Nebula Mist was forced out of the air, forming into a sphere in Avrin’s hands, before he fired off the jet black sphere towards the chunk of earth.
As soon as it touched the sphere, the entire chunk turned black and turned to ash in mid air, but the attack’s result wasn't what had just changed Avrin’s expression.
Behind the chunk that blocked the Draconian from view, it now revealed that the Draconian’s mouth was open as a yellow light formed in it's mouth. “Terror Burst?!” Avrin uttered out in surprise, since he experienced Luzar’s attack.
“-With enough strength to turn this room into rubble… Planning on taking us all in one go? I won't let you!-” Avrin knew that if he didn't find a way to stop the attack, even if he dodged it, the direction of the attack would be close enough to kill anyone within range of the explosion, and most likely injure Avrin.
Avrin quickly willed both his hands to grab darkened Nebula Mist from the air, as the room shuddered, some spaces distorting with the lack of mana, as if the fabric that made them had come undone. Some parts turned to ash without even coming into contact with dark matter.
“Terror Burst!” The Draconian shouted, before firing a blinding beam of light that roared and shook the dungeon itself, causing the earth to split and the wind to flee from it's path. Avrin pressed the two focused darkened spheres of Nebula Mist together, before he formed a dark purple shield that emitted dark matter.
“-Not enough time to complete it!-” He quickly thrust the shield forward, just in time for it to connect with the Terror Burst. The shield began to crack slowly. Avrin leaned forward, using his boots to press into the ground to gain leverage, while his shoulder pushed against the shield.
“-It can't be helped… Not enough time-” On the other side of the Terror Burst, the Draconian that channeled it started to feel somewhat exhausted, as the Terror Burst took an immense amount of mana. “-Argh.. I even have to tap into my armor’s storage reserve-”
Avrin moved his left hand outward as he began to gather darkened Nebula Mist to channel into the Void Shield he had formed to combat the Terror Burst. “-Perfect.. It's barely keeping up with the cracks that are forming-”
Looking past the light of the beam that was somewhat blinding, Avrin snickered. “Hey lizard!.. You won't get anywhere with this attack!” The Draconian knew something was off after Avrin had spoken those words, and soon stopped its attack, as it's mouth emitted a yellow smoke.
“Hmph… Strong indeed.. I should have killed you when I had the chance… But that form of yours surely will not be without rebound” Avrin’s eyes narrowed “-He’s right. I'll be lucky if I'm not crippled after this… I have to end it-”
The Draconian jumped into the air, before it landed back on the ground, inside the damaged arena. “Look what you made me do...destroy my chamber.. The great one will not be pleased..” He spoke while walking towards his greatsword.
“You are worthy enough for me to use my full power… Feel honored, demon.” Avrin glanced at the Draconian. He didn't bother to wait, as he charged towards it. “Honored? Go to hell!” Appearing next to it, the Draconian grinned before pulling the sword out of the ground. A flood of mana circulated around it and himself.
“This isn't good..” Avrin quickly felt his decision was bad, as he moved the Void Shield in front of him. The Draconian raised the greatsword that gave off an ominous aura, before slashing downwards towards Avrin’s shield.”
The earth under Avrin split apart, as a wave of yellow light soon cut his shield in half and slashed against his body, causing purple blood to gush out. “Ahh!..” He uttered in pain, barely able to keep his senses. He willed the dark matter in the blood towards him to help seal the deep wound.
Avrin immediately jumped back, while cautiously gazing at the Draconian, who looked at him in fascination. “Your blood, just now...it went from purple to red… Interesting.. Is this some sort of magic?... Is that how you heal yourself?.. It must be evil indeed… Your god, Zephioron, is truly vile… To bestow such things..”
Avrin placed his hand over his wound, feeling it sting, as the mana that remained was eaten by his own dark matter. “-That thing would have cut me in half if I didn't have that shield-” The Draconian raised the greatsword, as the wind seemingly howled at it's movement.
“As a token of appreciation for the great Fafnir, to the great one giving him materials to make the Dwarven works of architecture. Fafnir bestowed this blade formed from his and the Great One’s mana, as well as the unique earth metal Golemite, and the wind metal Arferium. Durability and magic amplification for earth magic… And this!”
Slashing the blade towards Avrin, another air wave infused with earth mana skimmed across the ground, splitting it and crashing against the wall, as Avrin dashed to the side, barely in the nick of time. “-It's fast?..-”
The Draconian gazed at Avrin. “I bet you are asking yourself… ‘How is such an attack so fast?’... It is unimpeded by earth, and the wind metal Arferium allows any melee attack with this greatsword to triple in speed. A perfect weapon..”
The Draconian dashed towards Avrin, who was already gathering dark Nebula Mist and firing off void spheres towards him rapidly. The Draconian laughed and began to cut the spheres in half, not worrying about them, as the mana in the sword destroyed any dark matter that tried to stick to it.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Your vile magic won't save you…” He began to barrage Avrin with slashes. “-He calls my dark matter vile, when he has such a thing. I'll let him gloat a bit more-” Avrin snickered to himself as he stopped and looked towards the group of mercenaries, who were deathly quiet and near the entrance to the chamber.
“-It's frustrating when I have little room to dodge to not get them involved-” Avrin looked at the Draconian as he gathered darkened Nebula Mist and fed it into his body to alleviate the pain and toll of the augmentation.
“Giving up so soon, demon?..” Avrin smiled at the Draconian. “If I told you…that despite me fighting the way I am, I was still holding back somewhat, would you believe me?”
The creature froze for a moment, as a drop of sweat formed on it's cheek. The thought of Avrin, who had boosted himself to match the strength of a Grandmaster, who has the defence of a Sage and now the attack of one, to still hold back. It was something he dared not believe.
“What nonsense are you spouting..?” Avrin released his 3rd augmentation, reverting back to his second form. A slight pain filled his body, as parts changed and reverted, as if he where mutating a little until he appeared more humanoid.
“Much… Much better..” He took a deep breath and glanced at the Draconian, who spoke. “Oh, I see… You decided to give up and admit defeat?... A painful death is all that awaits you..”
“Master!!!” Kael rushed over, slipping past the others, who were occupied by the shock of the battle that filled their sights, only coming to realization of Kael, who rushed over towards Avrin, when he spoke out.
“Master, are you really conceding!?” Kael jumped over the split earth, nearly stumbling as he rushed towards Avrin. “Kael?!!.. Go back, you fool..” Avrin spoke out in annoyance.
The Draconian glanced at Kael, before it raised the greatsword. Avrin, seeing this movement, flickered towards Kael, standing in front of him. “Master?” Kael turned to see Avrin’s image appear nearly instantly. He turned to look, only to see a yellow wave of light coming out of the Draconian’s blade.
“Ahh?” He uttered, as it was happening very quickly, and he couldn’t comprehend further. “Astaroth..” Avrin uttered, before the scythe he had been holding back for fear of it's power burst out of the dimensional space in his eye, forming in Avrin’s hands.
Wasting no time, Avrin gave it a casual slash towards the earthen air wave that neared him. In but a moment, Astaroth's raw force met the attack, not only stopping it, but sucking it in like a vacuum that sucked up water.
“Oh?... You can do this?” The Draconian glanced at Avrin in horror. Looking at Astaroth, he could feel nothing from it other than ravenous hunger, as if it were alive, but emitting nothing.
Avrin looked towards the Draconian. “The reason I reverted back one form is because I only need to barely keep up with you while I am using it with my weapon.” Kael glanced at Astaroth before falling on his butt, feeling that hunger it emitted out.
“Kael!” Wyni rushed over, jumping over the rubble that blocked her path with ease, before landing behind Avrin and kneeling behind Kael. The Draconian laughed at Avrin. “I could...attack your friends...until you slip up and miss?..”
These words caused Avrin’s eyes to narrow before he replied. “I'm sure you won't… Surely you have some honor?..” The Draconian snickered, and as soon as he raised his greatsword to slash towards Avrin, confirming that he wouldn't attack his friends due to honor, Avrin decided to take up his challenge. He vanished, rushing towards the Draconian, who swung the greatsword downwards just as Avrin swung Astaroth.
The moment the greatsword was in range, the closed eye on Astaroth's surface stirred somewhat, causing a dangerous pressure to press against the Draconian.
Using his strength with Astaroth, the blade cut against the greatsword’s blade head, cutting through it like a hot knife through butter and showing no signs of stopping. As the blade head that was not cut in half shot passed Avrin, it cut his cheek as red blood oozed out.
Showing no signs of stopping at the broken blade head, the Draconian tried to flee back, but was no match for the speed of Astaroth cutting towards him, showing the same results against it's armor, cutting a tear across it like butter before the force of the slash formed a sharp gust of wind that blew the Draconian away while causing the armor’s tear to grow great until it tore open and cut against the Draconian’s flesh until blood gushed out of the wound.
“Gahh!!!..” The Draconian was blown back as it fell down and moved his hands over the large gash. “-With...just a simple slash?.... No..no no…. He destroyed...Terith...and even easily split apart the chest plate that the Great One infused with his own energy…-”
Avrin sighed as he looked at the Draconian, seeing the shocked expression on his face. Avrin felt Astaroth stir excitedly, and immediately placed the weapon back in the spatial dimension in his eye.
He knew the weapon itself was still mysterious, and he had to be careful while using it, as it may just devour him if he let his guard down. Avrin dashed over towards the shocked Draconian, forming a Void Dagger in his hand, before appearing in front of it with the dagger pressed up
against it's wound.
“Just so you know… If I had used my weapon during my first augmentation.. I could have killed you without troubling myself further. But I was to curious to see what a Grandmaster can do, and pushed myself a little, just to play with you a bit. “
The Draconian’s eyes turned to focus on Avrin. With it's durability all but gone, the dagger he held could easily kill him. Especially in its current state. It's voice resounded softly “Hahahaha. Indeed… I am defeated… You win… A weapon that can destroy 2 Unique level items in one simple slash...I dare not provoke you further…”
Avrin smiled before raising his hand to from the white mask that had been turned to ash as he had augmented. He placed it against his face before he reverted his augmentation.
Within moments, seeing Avrin revert his augmentation, the Draconian quickly lunged towards him as his back was turned towards it. “-You dumb fool…-” The dark matter that came out of the augmentation made a Nebula Mist, that hid itself under Avrin’s loosened and somewhat ripped attire, formed a circular shape at his back.
The Draconian’s fist drew near Avrin, as it roared out in anger. The circular shape fueled with dark matter shot out, ripping the back portion of Avrin’s clothes, as a large spike impaled the Draconian at point blank range with no time to dodge at all.
“Shadow Spike…” He named it after Clovis’s ultimate attack failed to dent the creature. He decided he would end it with a similar attack. The spike punctured through the Draconian, forming a large hole in it's body, before it pierced into the wall.
In a few moments, the dark matter that made it vanished, and was turned into dark matter waste, leaving the winged Draconian kneeling down as it felt it's life slip away. “G..Great One...For...Forgive me...Master Kazan..” The Draconian soon dropped down on it's stomach while green blood oozed out of it's body.
Avrin glanced at it before his from completely reverted back. “I understand now… What sort of opponents can match up to me.” Speaking quietly to himself, he walked over to the Draconian and eyed it.
Before long, cheers soon erupted, with his name being called out. The sudden cry of victory roared out by those mercenaries made him jump a little and glance back, while making sure the mask he had formed was tightened around his head.
“Master!!“ Kael rushed towards him with a look of joy, as well as some tears forming in his eyes. “I'm sorry!! I put myself in danger… I shouldn't have done that! I thought you were really going to give up..”
Avrin glanced at Kael and quietly gave him a pat on the head. “Give up? You have it wrong. The only reason I dragged this on was to see how far he could go if I got a little serious. I learned a lot. And here is something for you to learn, Kael.”
Kael glanced at Avrin curiously. “Master?” Avrin spoke following Kael’s curious reply. “When fighting a powerful opponent, it's ok to limit yourself somewhat. This way you can learn to strengthen yourself. But..”
Kael uttered out immediately. “Uh, ‘but’ what?..” Avrin softly chuckled. “Don't be a fool like this Draconian, and let someone who you know little about get the advantage. And don't be a fool like me and let an opponent hurt you a lot before you decide to go all out and kill him”
Kael nodded with a soft smile, feeling that this joking side of Avrin was rare. Before he could continue, a voice beat him to it. “Oh? And you weren't going all out to begin with?” Felia walked with Clovis and Wyni by her side, as the other mercenaries were going around the rubble.
“If I was to go all out as soon as I fought him, I would have learned nothing about my upper limits. The first Draconian tested me, the second Draconian challenged me, and this one, the third, pushed me to my upper limit. I now know how to treat the weak, the strong, and the incredibly powerful.”
Avrin spoke with a sort of pride in his words. Clovis glanced at Avrin and shook his head a little. “Look at all those holes in your clothing… I'm surprised you managed to keep it during that fight. What's it made from?”
Before Avrin could speak, he glanced around quickly, seeing a portal from under the corpse of the winged Draconian before it's body vanished inside of it. “Whoever gets that isn't going to be to happy, hehehe..” Wyni spoke, seeing the tense look on everyone’s faces, trying to lighten the mood.
Ignoring Clovis’s past question and Wyni’s attempts to lighten the mood, Avrin spoke. “Hopefully this will send a message across to the others and buy us a little time..” Avrin spoke.
Felia glanced at Avrin, noticing something in the area they were in. “Let’s set up a small campfire. It's surprisingly cold in this part.” Avrin glanced with his Divine Sense, feeling the mana in this area had been nearly exhausted and mana from the surrounding area was gushing in to fill in the blank spot.
“Yeah…” Avrin went with her words, glad they hadn't picked up on his ability. Kael glanced at Avrin. “Master...you were incredible! Are you really a demon from the western continent?..”
Avrin glanced at Kael as he sighed quietly and nodded. “Indeed I am. I use a special sort of dark magic.” He spoke, deciding to take the advantage and fill their minds with this lie to stop any further questions that may seem dangerous.
Clovis spoke. “No wonder. I can't believe you were holding back in our fight… You purposely made me use you as a test dummy when you could have easily defeated me. Avrin, are you at the Grandmaster level? Let me see your spirit stone, hehe” Clovis curiously pleaded.
Felia frowned. “Avrin is tired… I'm more so surprised he hasn’t-” Felia glanced back at Avrin, who had suddenly fallen to one knee, clutching his chest, while lines of blue blood trickled down the eye and mouth openings of the mask.
“-Ahh..t..there it is… The pain that follows… I shouldn’t...have used Astaroth…-” He thought to himself as his entire body began to burn in a sharp pain. He could barely hear the words of people around him, asking him if he was ok.
He began to think carefully about his fight with the second and first Draconian, trying to find why he had exhausted himself quickly, and relied on the mana around him for sustenance. “-I...See… So I have been focusing on storage… I'll just rest...a little, then..handle..-” Shutting his eyes, he fell onto the ground in an unconscious state, with Kael and Felia rushing towards him, screaming at him to see if he was ok.
Within the dark void Avrin was used to, he felt a sensation of floating, but his mind felt tired and his chest ached a little. He looked down at his hands and feet and understood what was going on.
“Can I ask you something..?” His voice echoed across to someone he had hoped was there. A familiar voice carrying a powerful and perfect tone replied. “You want to know why you are terrible at fighting?”
Avrin laughed quietly, as he felt his mind clear up. “I don't think I'm that bad. I win in the end, don't I?” A white figure formed in the distance, glowing in a radiant light that was as bright as a star, before it dimed down and appeared in a flash in front of Avrin.
“Indeed. Actually, I think you're doing well. Putting your life on the line to improve yourself may be a little.. hmmm.. What's the word..?” Avrin gazed up at the figure who he knew as God fake a struggle with a word he knew he would say before Avrin even knew he himself would exist.
“Stupid…” Speaking to finish the sentence for him. God laughed soundly. “Yes, yes. But you're method still impressed me. Despite it's risk, it has given you an insight that is incredibly valuable to a warrior. Are you sure your intention was to teach Kael? Because from what I see, you have benefited the most.”
Avrin sighed. “Indeed. I'm not doing so well at that. Regarding me impressing you, would it be-” Before he could speak, his sentenced was finished. “Yes, it's fine if you ask me one thing like we agreed upon. You have 3 things you want to ask me, don't you?”
Avrin remained quiet as he looked at God. “Yes. But I guess I can only pick one. The first is how I can improve my own storage of dark matter. I find that a solution would save me a lot of effort and time in drawing it out from the world. The second is a method to make Kael stronger before our time is up. And lastly, is there even any Sky Metal in this damn dungeon...”
God quietly listened with his hands behind his back. He looked at Avrin, not uttering a word. “All valid questions with answers to each of them. But I keep my word, and 1 question shall be answered.”
Avrin sighed quietly as he began to think a little. “A method to make Kael stronger before our time is up…” God glanced at Avrin before smiling.
“The enigma potion you managed to get at a bargain. Add some dark matter to it, which will weaken the effects of the berserker portion that the Sky Metal gives it. Then have Kael drink it.”
Avrin grew quiet. “....I'm sorry, but…” God’s laugh resounded, seemingly shaking the foundations of creation itself, making Avrin somewhat dizzy. “That little amount of Sky Metal will barely do anything for you. For anyone else, that potion is a treasure that is priceless. As long as they have dark matter. And for that boy, it will do some real good for him, and also answer your question.”
Avrin was a little reluctant and sighed, reaching up to rub his forehead. “And for the question you want answered the second most. If you want to improve your storage of dark matter, the solution is simple. Just stuff as much as you can inside your body until your heart has no choice but to form an inner dimension just like the one Astaroth is stored in.”
Avrin looked at God with a little surprise, as he heard it all. “Is such a thing is possible?.. I would have never figured that out so easily.. Does this mean my kin are doomed to draw mana around them to create dark matter for good?”
God shook his head. “No. This is just a shortcut for you alone, since you have the dark matter heart, which you will learn more about in time. If they want to increase their own storage, they have to feed dark matter into their own heart, until that evolves into a much, much weaker version of your own. From there, they will then stuff themselves with dark matter”
Listening carefully, Avrin had obtained valuable information that he could use and share later on. His biggest worry was that he had gotten stronger without balancing himself properly. It was until things were quiet that he spoke. “Why did you answer a second question?”

(AN) regarding the spatial dimension in avrins eye. when he defeated the skymetal it had created that little bit of space for itself he isn't able to replicate it but he is able to summon it at will. i recommend going back to read the doppelganger chapter for those who don't know.
