Lang gazed at Avrin with interest. What could he offer her that she wanted. She wasn’t like most of her kin that enjoyed riches and unique treasures, she was comfortable with what she had being a servant of Lenaya and a guardian of the swamplands. Her voice echoed with ferocity, as if thinking he was trying to preserve his life with nothing to offer.

“What could you offer me? An insect like you who can only corrupt, what could you get. From another world you say?“ Lang began to chuckle her hearty dragonic laugh, causing the system to rumble slightly “What lies you spin creature..”

Avrin frowned as he leaned up, slightly clutching his stomach as it began to heal, the pain fading slightly. Thankfully his body had also gotten more durable with training so it was common for his healing to be better if he was doing nothing but focusing on recovering. Of course such an injury still required attention and focus.

“I can see you love nature mighty dragon. What if I could offer you something. A plant never before seen on Seleria.. A plant so rare and beautiful even you could not reject it.”

Lang became quiet as she began to think. Her nostrils were emitting a somewhat hot steam as she focused her eye on Avrin. “And you say you have such a flower?”

Avrin grinned. “With my ability I’m able to summon a flower from another world and bring it here. It would be the only one of its kinds and I dare say not even the gods of Seleria would have one.” He began to spin his strategy towards this dragon.

If things went well he could twist lies and get out of here not only alive but with the metal. “This flower glows with the energy of another world and when it blooms its scent is enough to calm even the gods themselves. I’m sure if Lenaya were ever to appear you could offer this to her as a gift and possibly receive her blessings?”

Avrin was truly a spinner of sharp words. He had a plan and there was no way in hell he was going to let Lang get away with what she did to him. He never forgets someone who has irritated him.

Lang glared at him with her single eye as she was still laid down in that mossy hill that was her figure. “Very well creature..If you can bring me such a flower...I shall let you live..And, if it’s as you speak, I will let you take the Sky Metal”

Avrin nodded and spoke “To summon this flower, I need to borrow some mana from these lands. But do not let that deter you, my ability only converts mana.

I am also able to take the corruption away as if it were never there. Do I have your permission?” Lang  growled quietly as she stayed quiet for a few moments.

“Very well creature. BUT, if I feel that you have tainted my lair..I shall devour you…” The threat was all but real, Avrin would have to be careful. There was no way he was able to create life right now.

Synthetic organic material was different to something that was still alive. But there was one thing, one weapon he remembered that was used in dense jungle like battlefields. It wasn’t deadly but it was a deterrent that was amusing.

Avrin raised both his hands as he began to emit nebula mist that began to create a rectangle 2 meters wide and 5 meters tall. As the rectangular mist became denser, until one couldn't see inside of it, he shut his eyes and began to put the image into his head.

He wasn’t confident in creating most casual things as they required an understanding of what made them. But when it came to weaponry, especially ones that he found interesting, it wasn’t hard for him to visualize it and put it in his head.

Of course, with training came the ability to focus better and block things out, allowing him to visualise his creation better which also meant the speed and dark matter used would be more efficient.

Lang gazed curiously at Avrin’s ability. It was something she had never seen before, and what's more is she couldnt feel an ounce of mana or energy emanating from it. This caught her interest, but also worried her. The thoughts running through her head were “-Just what is this creature and the ability he wields. Is he truly able to create life from another world?-”

20 minutes had passed. Avrin would usually be done, but this was his first attempt at doing something like this. He had to be careful with the minor details and especially what it was.

He also had to keep thought on the dark matter waste as to not anger Lang. He had to reabsorb it and recycle it back into the nebula mist, which proved efficient.

A total of 48 minutes had passed before Avrin opened his eyes, panting slightly and lowering his hand. He was somewhat exhausted, having to juggle between focusing on creating the flower as well as keeping an eye on the dark matter waste and also his healing which slowed down due to expending effort on the two other things. His voice spoke.

“Mighty Lang, it is complete.” While Lang’s eyes widened, as if to focus, Avrin raised his hand as the nebula like cage dissipated. It revealed a large flower nearly 2 meters tall as well as a half meter wide.

The flower had a base that seemed to go inside the dirt to cover the synthetic base that wasn’t natural. The flower itself was beautiful. It had large petals that were semi opened and were glowing several colors as if it were a mini light show. Blue, green, red, yellow, all sorts of colors. Of course this was something Avrin tampered with. The usual color was a faint blue, but he needed it to be flashy.

It emitted a faint peach and lemon scent that seemed refreshing and had a long bud in the middle that had some frills. The entire bud itself was glowing white, toning down, then glowing white again as if pulsing. It was truly a beautiful flower.

“T..This is…” Lang’s voice echoed with shock, a powerful echo, and what followed was rumbling emitting from the system as Avrin struggled to keep balance a bit. The hill that was Lang’s body lifted up as the mighty dragon had moved half its body up.

It was menacing. Saying it was 9 stories tall would be a good guess, but Avrin had a feeling at full height it would be around 15-16 stories. Not to mention the length.

He had no intention of fighting such creatures until he had gotten stronger. Lang’s footsteps echoed and caused the ground to rumble and press under her weight as it got closer to Avrin and the flower bit by bit. He was somewhat worried, but had a feeling it wasn’t needed. It seems from a glance he saw her interest in the flower itself and not him.

This was a good sign. Little did Lang know that the flower wasnt the only thing he had formed. After he completed it, a small control a couple of inches in diameter appeared on the edge of the cage. It was a simple design but its signal could reach several kilometers. It had several buttons but only one of them worked.

Lang’s voice wrung out as she examined the flower close up. The dragon’s body was covered with several varieties of plants and vines. It seemed she had slumbered for several hundreds of years for it to grow so much. “Creature, this flower….It is truly beautiful. I must have it. It’s mine. I want it…”

Avrin smirked. Dragon or not, she had spoke that she was different to her kin in the greed respect, but it seems that was just a matter of her not having anything to be greedy about until now. “Very well mighty Lang. But in return, will you keep your promise? Let me live and allow me the Sky Metal?”

Lang stopped for a moment as it glared down at Avrin, the dragon emitting a large powerful aura that felt as if gravity were pressing on him. “Creature, why should I keep my promise to you… There is no doubt you are up to no good. Wanting that object, even matching it with your life..”

A greedy and perceptive dragon. Avrin thought quietly, it was time to spin another strategic lie. “Mighty Lang..the truth is.. if I do not return with the metal as a gift for the demon ruler than my life is forfeit to begin with. Please won’t you allow me to take it? It is nothing more than a gift to put on show.”

A simple and effective lie. Avrin held an emotionless fierce look, as if showing a face that he wasn’t lying but needed a bit of pity.

Lang pondered this before speaking “Hmmm…” Her eyes focused on him closer, until he felt her somewhat steaming heat from her nostrils blow against him like a mini furnace. “Very well creature….It doesn’t seem like you are lying...The demon continent is far...and you have travelled far to try and get this metal you need...And you also used your unique and intriguing ability to create a beautiful flower to please me. I shall grant you your life and this metal you seek…”

Lang’s eyes emitted a quick flash of green as her mana shot towards a corner of the room behind where she was resting. A large vine encasing that Avrin hadn’t noticed before, due to the presence of the dragon, was emitting a faint dark mana. The vines sprung towards Lang and Avrin until it reached between the two. As the vines retracted, the ominous dark mana grew stronger and stronger.

Until what rested on one vine was a large chunk of a strange metal. 2 feet wide and 1 foot tall, give or take parts of it that seemed to be dented in. It had a metallic look.

The metal itself was strange, it had several lines across it that pulsed slightly, as if they were veins. Pumping what seemed to be a fluid that was glowing red. In all honesty, Avrin felt it was more of an egg that was deformed rather than a metal.

It was somewhat disgusting and he wasn’t looking forward to touching it, but his efforts until now were for this. As he approached the metal he started to have a weird feeling, as if the metal itself was trying to get him closer and closer.

The moment his hand was a few inches from it, his pupils began to change slightly. From the light azure blue to a purplish black. Lang had saw this and then growled slightly before vines wrapped over the metal again, as if like cloth.

“Creature...You are not to touch that metal while in these swamplands...It has a strange effect on you. When you are away from these lands, do as you will…”

Avrin shook his head slightly as if snapping out of a trance. He then realised that the metal indeed had a somewhat hypnotic power to it. Even for him it was somewhat strong. “Ah..Thank you mighty Lang..” Before he took the vine wrapped metal, which seemed to block its effects, he remembered Ayame and Syrana were outside.

And at that moment large rumbling was heard as the cave system shook with force. “Who dares attack my lair…” At one stage, an arrow as if like a shooting star fired in between Avrin and Lang through the thick vines that protected the entrance.

Avrin wriggles his nose a bit. Could that idiot be anymore careless. Before things went wrong he needed an excuse and a dark grin adorned his face. It was time for revenge. And not only 2 birds, but 2 birds and 1 lizard with one stone.

“Mighty Lang, please allow me to leave a side entrance of sorts. The ones who are attacking your lair are after this metal for their own purposes…..” Lang gazed at Avrin, and a small jet of steam emitted from her nostrils again.

“This is the only favor I shall grant you creature...You may leave while I attend to these intruders…” From the side of the system, vines moved, revealing a second entrance to which Avrin wasted no time heading towards it with the large vine covered metal. He emitted a nebula mist around it to left it up. And surprisingly it wasn’t heavy. In fact, it was as if he was carrying nothing.

As Avrin left through the side entrance, at that moment the large vine barrier protecting the first entrance blew open, a gust of dust and smoke kicking around. While the 2nd entrance closed with Avrin through it.

Avrin chuckled quietly “Sorry Ayame and Syrana, I have no doubt that there is a chance you both may die, but for this hatred of mine to settle, revenge is in order..” Indeed, he had not forgiven either of them. He had felt like he was made a fool out of. From her nearly killing him to Ayame underestimating him and annoying him.

Indeed at this stage they may have seemed like wanting to befriend him, but with his emotions locked he cared little. He also reassured himself that Syrana would most likely get them out alive with her Sigil.

He heard rumbling from underneath the cave system as well as roaring. He felt two large manas collide. One obviously from Lang and another from Syrana infused with the Sigil. Little did he know that such a powerful mana collision would be felt from thousands of miles away, Shimaru and Myra also feeling it.

Back at the estate, Myra smiled as she sat down to have tea with Shimaru. She spoke softly “It seems you really have taken a liking to Avrin, but can that really be a reason to trust him so easily with your techniques?” Myra worryingly spoke.

“Ho ho ho! You worry too much. Do not worry, someone who has been given so much and has such dedication surely has a sense of honor. I know he wouldn’t use it for evil” Shimaru spoke. But in the end he truly had no idea.

It was then that two large manas were felt by them. Myra was the first to react. “G..Gah...t..this power...Lang and..Syrana!!??“ She spoke with fright as she stood up. Shimaru also giving a nervous look.

“Incredible...This is the power of a dragon and a half Sigil wielder…” His eyes filled with envy, fright, and respect, at their power…

“But why..Why is she fighting Lang?…” She bit her lips and furrowed her brows with worry. “Was it Avrin...I’m sure he schemed something” Shimaru gazed at her. “Lets not jump to conclusions Myra...We can only trust in them..”

Avrin had been running at his top speed for quite awhile now. It was about the time. Asura was waiting at the destination and Avrin had no need to hold back since Ayame wasnt with him. He shot like a bullet through the tree lines while clutching onto a vine that had a nebula mist covering it for worry that the mist couldn’t keep up.

As he reached the clearing he saw a black figure devouring a small carcass that resembled an animal similar to an antelope. “Asura!” Avrin called out to which the creature turned to look at Avrin, it’s mouth covered in blood and filled with meat as it mumbled. “Ahh master?”

“Were leaving now!” Avrin demanded to which Asura stood up, knowing that something was going on. Previously the meeting between Avrin and Asura had taken place before Myra and Shimaru had realised the mana. And it was then that Asura gasped in fright as he felt the powerful force. “S..Strong…” he spoke with awe.

“Now Asura! We are leaving now!” He spoke to which Avrin continued on with Asura, abandoning his kill poutfully, both of them now shooting through the tree line. Avrin’s face revealed a smile. He was excited, not only did he have the metal but he would get those 3 bitches back.

“All those times you irritated me, all those times you showed anger towards me, and for the time you nearly killed me. I hope you carve this into your mind and heart” Avrin pulled the control from a small pocket in his clothing and pressed it right as Asura and Avrin had entered the clearing where the swamplands met the mountainous plains.

Inside the the cave system Syrana was battling Lang. “Where is he!!!” Syrana yelled while Lang was roaring, vines shooting towards Syrana who fired off powerful fire element arrows that decimated the vines. Lang and Syrana both had to hold back to a degree as to not let the cave fall on them both.

Lang was the most disadvantaged, not wanting to ruin her lair. “Elf!! How dare you attack my lair!!“ Lang roared while slashing its mighty claw towards Syrana.

It seemed like a falling comet emitting its own sound. Syrana imbued an arrow with earth affinity mana and fired it towards Lang’s claw, blocking it with the force to equal it. Of course Lang was still holding back. They were indeed somewhat equal in terms of power since Lang held back more than Syrana.

“None of your concern, elf. How dare you try to go after my property!!” Ayame was hiding behind a boulder, nervous and afraid, but also angry at herself for being of no use, clutching her fists.

Syrana had told her to hide, in worry that she may die, and she had no choice but to listen. Then again, with two power houses going at it, it was a reasonable choice.

“Where is avrin!!” Syrana yelled with anger in her eyes. Although she still couldnt see eye to eye with Avrin after hearing his story, she felt for him somewhat. He was alone in this world, trying to survive, even if some actions he made weren't the best, she would try and help him.

“The demon creature has taken the metal away from your thieving hands!” Syrana’s eyes widened as she stopped for a moment. “W..What?..” At that moment, Lang emitted a shockwave from its mouth that blew Syrana back towards the cave, causing her to gasp and cough out some blood before falling to her knees. But she cared not, and spoke.

“He took the Sky Metal? Than you didn’t kill him?” Lang stopped attacking for a moment before speaking. “The demon is returning to his lands with the Sky Metal for his ruler as a gift...Like I promised him”

Syrana was quiet, as she felt anger well up. She had known then she had been fooled by Avrin. “Lang...I’m sorry to say but it seems we were both fooled…” Lang blinked in surprise as she gazed cautiously at Syrana. “Fooled?...What do you mean elf...Speak now!” Lang demanded.

Ayame raised her head as she looked to see them both stopping as if they had come to an agreement. She approached Syrana quickly to tend to her, Lang gazing even more cautiously. Syrana, ignoring Ayame, spoke “Avrin isn’t after the Sky Metal for the demon king.. He is after it for himself. He tricked you. He was my companion, I was to make sure the Sky Metal wasn’t evil, and fall into his hands if true.”

(PR Note: I tried)

Lang was quiet for a moment. She knew this elf was a Sigil wielder, and knew they loved Lenaya as much as she did. Why would she lie to her. Lang then gazed at the flower Avrin made. “T...That creature…” Ayame also felt the atmosphere. Avrin had indeed played them all. But why would he?

It was then that Syrana and Ayame realised Avrin’s vendetta towards them. He had planned this all along. “T..That bastard...When I get my hands on him..” Syrana spoke while clutching her fists against each other.

At that moment, the flower bud began to glow black as the petals and the flower itself extended open, the 3 of them paying attention to it, wondering what was going on.

The flower, now bloomed, revealed that the interior of it was mechanical, and it seemed the petals and bud were all synthetic organic material. But that wasn’t all.

There were pipes sticking out from the main body of the flower and the bud began to glow brighter and brighter, emitting a screeching sound that made Syrana and Ayame cover their ears in pain. Even Lang roared in agony.

As the flower then began to glow brighter and brighter, as if ready to implode, the purpose for which Avrin intended it to be used for had started….
