“Erebus, you understand that because of this, you have caused a system where others will be looked down upon. But that being said, this system is somewhat useful. From your information, people can be reconverted if they achieve results.

Forget that. I want you to gather the Archbishops when we are done here and have them reconvert every individual leaving. Only tell the cardinals to not do so. Erebus blinked a little “But My Lord, although it is fair, what if things get out of hand? People with that strength may want to leave…”

Avrin took a deep breath and nodded. “This is why I leave that decision making to you. Have them know that their so called Lord has arrived. I want them to know I do not look down upon them and want to help them. To do that though, I need you all to listen to me.”

Carefully making mental notes, Erebus replied “Lord Avrin, do you not intend to stay with us?” Avrin shook his head. “I can't. I have 2 other purebloods like you with me. I also need to train as well as develop connections in the human kingdom. Know this race is known as Spectral, the one who created me named it as such and so shall it be”

Avrin couldn't help but speak in such a tone. It was too interesting. He felt he played his role much better now. Erebus, although eager to ask about the one who created him, dared not interrupt. “Remain here for a month more. I will allow you that time to convert those who need a new life most.

After that, I will send another pureblood. He is a blacksmith with incredible potential. He is no less than you, so consider him a real brother. With his help, take our people to the Northern Continent and slowly strengthen yourselves while concealing yourselves at the same time.

The last thing we need is people looking to take advantage of us as well as the servants of the gods taking notice.”

Listening to Avrin’s advice was a big relief to Erebus, who until now had been making the decisions. Of course, for Avrin, this was good too. By sending settlers ahead, they would prepare everything ahead of time for him, while he would gather information and improve himself.

To help speed things ahead, Avrin decided it was time to share some knowledge with Erebus. This method is something he wasn't fond of immediately, but it would help Erebus and his now new people a lot.

“Just as I had done for Asura, I will give you some of what I know to assist you. This is something you will have to moderate yourself to teach others. “

Erebus nodded, staying quiet as he had been mostly doing during Avrin’s entire speech. Making his way to him, Avrin emitted a ball of nebula mist.

Avrin’s idea was simple and less of a hassle. He would store information inside this mist and then solidify it, allowing Erebus, during his own time, to absorb it bit by bit. Of course, Avrin had to be selective in this regard.

“Leave me for now….” Avrin spoke, knowing this would take some time. Erebus froze a little before quickly leaving, not daring to speak. Avrin focused solely on the mass in his hands “Knowledge of some fighting techniques, the Pulsing Dragon… yes that will help, Void Blade, Void Sphere, the danger of Sky metal.

I dare not think what would happen if it absorbs one of them. Who Asura and Eitri are, how to form Infernium, how to be a blacksmith...” After having spent more time selecting and adding the information, Avrin felt there was no strain at all; it was much simpler than forcing it into one’s head, until he finally decided on instructions to share.

These instructions were what to teach everyone, and not to share the information of Infernium due to how dangerous it could be if it circulated outside of their race. He couldn't stress enough that he wanted everyone to learn the Pulsing Dragon, as well as how to fight and blacksmithing information.

By adding certain positive things, down the line, it would be advantageous for them. Although it was easier than forcing it into someone's head, the amount of time needed to put it all together in a way that works as well as make it absorbable with no backlash, was annoying. Finally Avrin stopped a half day later when the sun was starting to rise.

A large soccer ball like sphere that was crystalline and held several different colored mists inside of it floating that were about was formed. “-Erebus… Come-” He used the telepathic link before Erebus rushed in a few seconds later with a look of joy that turned to an even greater look of joy after seeing the sphere in Avrin’s hand, having an idea of what it was.

“Inside this sphere is knowledge I have selected as well as instructions on what to teach. Make sure you take the time to recreate the right parts, but also do not stress yourself over it. Everyone who learns this is to train and share a bit of information to the next person until they all know it.

Remember the time frame I have given you. When I send Eitri whom you will know about soon, then you will leave. I'm sure you already know how to form gold coins. When the time comes before you leave, I'll give instructions to you and Eitri”

Erebus nodded “My Lord, I thank you for this gift and for not abandoning us. I'm curious, what will you do now?” Avrin stretched slightly, causing some bones to crack a little from having sat for a half day.

“I'm off to go train myself and make good use of my time as well as ponder these events.” Avrin spoke softly as he made his way to a back exit. “My Lord, I wish you luck in your training. I will lead our people to greatness!”

Saying nothing more, Avrin left. “-This changes everything… Although the positives outweigh the negatives, it doesn't remove them. With this, there will be more of a chance of people finding out about us. I need to focus on training myself. Unfortunately, I need to postpone the main event with Gregson a bit further and come up with a new agreement. It no longer benefits me, as I have the fates of others resting on my shoulders now-”

Avrin’s goals had shifted significantly. At first he wanted to join the army from the lowest rank and work himself up to gain an understanding of their methods, but he wasn't so sure it was the most useful course of action that made use of time anymore.

Frowning to himself, Avrin wondered if the course of action he took was the right one for the long term result. No one ever said that by following your heart you would always succeed. Some sacrifices must be made.

But the thought of being a part of something again and having a people who wanted to start anew, become a part of the Spectral race, was something that caused him to smile. Making his way through the tunnel, he had just realized something.

“Why is this city built upon ruins?” Confused about this, he ventured on, using his divine sense to guide him, almost like sonar. Having spent a couple of minutes, he found a passage connected to a sort of sewer system.

Somewhat fazed by the stench, he dared not remain more than he should, and used the nebula mist to eat away at the ceiling under a location hidden beside an open area. Jumping out of the freshly made hole, he looked around before sealing it with the same nebula mist used to devour the ground.

The city had become a hub for activity, as he casually glanced around the corner seeing drunkards with women under their arms as well as adventurers looking for a place to rest. Avrin gazed up at the night sky and let a sigh escape his lips.

He began to ponder if maybe he was becoming a bit too soft. With hundreds of individuals singing tales of adventurers past, as well as songs most women would find appalling, he took a step out into the open before his heart froze.

The entire streetscape, as well as the air and life itself, seemed to stop in time, as if someone had paused it with a remote. Not even a sound was heard as Avrin looked around in shock, he was freely able to move so he wasted no time bringing Astaroth out from its dimension.

Emitting his divine sense, he felt nothing at all. The sound of footsteps could be heard before a voice that was familiar eased the feeling of his heart tensing up. “To be honest, I never expected you would let them go like that and even welcome them with open arms, so to speak”

An individual clad in a cosmic white skin casually strolled by the frozen individuals as time had frozen. “This is a little different than what I'm used to…” Avrin replied softly. The being that had frozen time was none other than God himself, who had paid Avrin a visit. “Let's talk a little, and summarize what you have done so far.”

The entire landscape seemed to shift over, as if a page was turned, transporting both God and Avrin to a park like area. God made his way over to a bench and sat down as he looked up at Avrin, who placed Astaroth away as he felt no threat.

“Yet again you have exceeded my expectations. When I first created you as a Spectral, I thought your personality would change for the worse until you became a tyrant more or less. But with my omniscience limited, circumstances keep changing you.

In this case it's for the better. You changed a beggar into a leader of a faith. And that man then began to spread it to those he saw fit. Quite choosey.”

Avrin showed signs of nervousness. “I apologize… I didn't think I would be worshipped as a god.” A soft ghostly chuckled left the lips of God “No need to apologize, I care not for that. Free will is my greatest gift to life. If you choose me I am happy, if not, then it doesn't bother me at all as I am left with those who love me.”

A sigh of relief left Avrin as he remembered something, but as he about to speak, God, seemingly knew all, replied. “Do not worry, I didn't forget our deal. Remember though, I won't grant you anything that changes anything too quickly and unfairly. Well, other than that, what is it you want. I'll give you 2 wishes. First for changing yourself and exceeding my expectations, second for accepting those people as your own kind.”

Avrin was delighted and he let out a wide smile that was quite rare for him as he began to ponder things. “-Ok ok… Ok let's see…. Something... Should I ask for Sky Metal? No, that would be cheating… What about the location of some? Hmmm, what about information? Something I can use… Details of technology?... I'll consider it…. Ahh yes, that's it. I was so worried about it but this is perfect-”

God, who seemed to freeze like a mannequin with limitless patience, spoke. “A decision I see. Let's see“Reading Avrin’s mind in an instant, God replied. “Ah yes, you do have that teleportation ability. Well, it's more or less a work in progress, but I can see why you haven't used it. It's quite risky.”

Avrin nodded “I would like to make a breakthrough with it so I can freely control it without worry of destroying myself…” God replied “You are quite smart. You originally got the idea from the way you were executed. You break yourself into controllable particles and reform yourself. Very well, I'll make it easier for you and give you a breakthrough with nothing more when we are done. Now then, your second wish?”

Avrin nodded. He already knew what he needed. “In my current state, I'm not confident I can defend my people as well as myself. I need a way to improve greatly. Will you tell me a method of training in which I can greatly improve in a short amount of time?”

God was quiet for a moment. “The Pulsing Dragon is pretty sloppy, I'll tell you that. In all the countless universes, there are a number of good ones. Let me give you an example. If the Pulsing Dragon trains you at 1x speed, there are some that can train you at 5x 10x 15 to 100x the speed. But that in itself is cheating, so let's see. I'm not a big fan of borrowing things, so let's start from scratch.

When I leave, you will receive a breakthrough in your teleportation as well as achieve the first step to a new meditation technique that is perfect for you. Depending on what you discover will be the fact that changes its speed.

Don't bother with the Pulsing Dragon anymore, you will improve slowly considering you're rate of improvement is far beyond what it has to tell.

Although the techniques it has are still useful, but try to be original and make your own. It's more fun.” With a soft laugh, God vanished, not giving Avrin time to reply. And as time resumed, a spark was felt in his mind.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“Ah... That's it! Damnit how could I have not seen it in the first place…”  The breakthrough Avrin received was regarding teleportation. The answer was quite simple. His Divine Sense’s range was significant, and he could also empower it.

It hadn't occurred to him that teleporting within his Divine Sense would be easier. Extending it outward using a bit of energy, he found Eitri’s now abandoned blacksmith shack before he began to teleport himself.

His body seemingly converting to dark matter before a warp like feeling and a near second later he reformed at a position he sensed. He turned red, embarrassed by such a thing. It had completely slipped his mind.

“I need to pay better attention…” Sighing slightly, he emitted his Divine Sense again, before using the completed ability he named Divine Step, mainly on the fact that he needed to establish his Divine Sense and it allowed him to freely teleport within it.

He reformed outside the city walls as the range of his Divine Sense was still limited but improved not only every time he used it but as he improved as well. He made his way towards the mine that he and Eitri had been to since it was a familiar place to him.

Taking no longer than a few minutes with his current speed, he looked around before entering it and going inside the depths. Having encountered several of the previous life forms, they only added to his experience.

Avrin choose to dispatch them with a simple Void Blade before the same scene as before regarding cannibalism occurred, making it easier for him to dispatch the rest.

Relying on his Divine Sense again to map as much of the cave as possible, he found a room with a few stalactites and a couple of creatures sleeping. Unfortunately for them, he did not want blood to interrupt his training and decided to absorb them as they were. It was something he had also been interested in trying.

2 orcs that were seemingly sparring with each other while 3 goblins slept beside one another as they scratched their bellies and snored. The orcs had spotted Avrin first before charging toward him with that bloodlust.

Avrin had already released 5 Void Spheres towards every creature, and moments later, they were engulfed inside that sphere, unable to break out. The formerly sleeping goblins were screeching and panicking as they smacked against the spherical prison.

Closing his hand, the Void Spheres followed, shrinking down as they converted the living creatures inside to dark matter as they were crushed. The spheres returned to Avrin and seemingly fused with his body.

Only 20% of their energy pool was added to Avrin’s, not even enough to empower him despite their weapons somehow baring the flaming enchantment. He hoped Eitri would somehow figure something out. Avrin then found a comfortable position as he entered this new meditation.

He felt for his heart and all the dark matter that made him. The technique was straight forward enough for now and a bit of a hive mind was involved. The particles that made him had basic instincts such as feed, repair, slowly improve, defend, this technique’s first step was to empower every particle and give them instructions.

Of course, there were so many to do that it would take millions of years. But that was part of the short explanation given by God’s instruction in Avrin’s mind. Empower some particles, give them the order to then empower other particles, then give those particles the order to empower more. And so on.

Only when all his particles were empowered and fed with mana converted to Dark Matter would he be able to achieve step two. His body was like a light bulb purposely set on a dim light setting. Avrin knew this would still take time. He worried, mainly to know if the mana around him could cope, but for now it wasn't an issue.

A month had passed since Avrin had begun this technique. The cave room around him was distorted to an almost alien like area. With the entire place changing to the point where the few bugs in the room had their mana already absorbed and replaced at the same time with dark matter.

But Avrin, who was somewhat aware of this, developed a recycling method. Every week he would reabsorb the dark matter waste that corrupted the room and that would be like a second source of energy.

The dark matter waste itself was more useful than the mana the room held as it didn't require that little bit of energy to convert. It was all changed into matter and used to empower his cells. Avrin, who was sitting having not budged an inch for an entire month, his body shone a radiant blue with purple tints.

Having removed his mask and cloak for the training method, his face was revealed to have a glossy glow. Over this training he felt himself increase in power yet again. The exhilarating feeling of one's pores opening up to breath had reappeared as if each particle that made Avrin had been well fed.

If Avrin was to compare one particle now to one of his prior self, it would be equal to 5 of his weakened ones. In theory, this technique was to increase one's abilities to prepare him for the next step of the meditation, but the real fact was that one would store an incredible amount of energy within their very being.

Only someone who had control over such things would be able to efficiently use this technique, which made it perfect for one of the Spectral race. When the final particle had been empowered, as if a trigger had been formed, Avrin searched his mind again for the next step.

Avrin had discovered 2 things during his training. One was the knowledge of this technique God had given him being in the shape of a training manual with clear instructions. Avrin figured this may be for the ease of passing it on to other Spectrals or individuals.

He would not dare share his own experiences with them as he believed in hard work. The second was, as curious as he was; he was never able to turn the page in his consciousness to peak at the second step or any other. It was only until this moment that the page bent to his will and turned, revealing the next stage.

The second step again seemed to focus on the particles of one's being. Avrin felt that the matter/particles that made him would be the basis of this training, so he didn't feel disappointed. He was to slowly merge particles together until they became larger. Only when enough particles had formed that they formed a blue sphere and only when he had a million of those blue spheres would he be able to progress to the 3rd step.

With no one to argue with, and not currently in the mood to talk to himself, he tried it out first, willing one particle to slowly devour another. It resulted with the one devouring to only gain 10% of the energy.

Avrin wondered if this was truly the method. It was so wasteful, he knew he would have to devour more mana/energy around him to replace those lost particles and then re-empower them. Regardless, Avrin was extremely excited. As if playing a videogame with the building blocks of his body he continued this method.

Another month had nearly passed; Avrin had had no luck in finding a more effective way of combining them. Although he felt better than ever and significantly more powerful than he previously was, he was still a little disappointed.

Making his way out of the first tunnel after absorbing the dark matter waste, he had learned to permanently instruct his other particles to empower the new ones, saving him the time of doing it himself.

By now, the creatures had already seen Avrin and knew he was bad news and also felt a bit of the new power he had as he hadn't been able to contain all of it inside himself yet.

He wanted to vent his frustration out a bit. A large orc seemingly appeared from the side as it rushed towards Avrin, swinging its club around, thinking it had caught him by surprise. But at this stage, the only thing that surprised Avrin was how much of a dumb joke this creature was.

“Disgusting...” Waving his hand, he had toyed with a technique he had discovered by accident using his Divine Sense. When he was meditating, a stalactite fell towards him, and this made him act on impulse. Willing the energy of his Divine Sense to act, it formed an invisible force almost like telekinesis, smashing the stalactite away.

The method for this was similar, but unfortunately for this orc he was merciless, using the creature to vent his frustration its body exploded in the right direction, not one drop of blood as well as flesh going any other way other than right.

The stench, to Avrin, was bearable, but to the other creatures it's a feeding frenzy. Rushing towards the innards and remains of the orc, they began to chew and devour it. Avrin, having nothing better to do, was curious and just looked at the creatures as he mocked them.

“Eating their kind… Cannibalism at its finest…” Waiting 5 minutes he spotted one goblin which had been eating at the leg of the orc that had been blown to bits. The goblin, seemingly full, threw the leg away and wandered off.

Avrin widened his eyes and clenched his fist. “That's it!! How could I have not seen this…?” Another breakthrough had occurred. He rushed back to the area of meditation and wasted no time starting.

In a few moments, he was at the sight of all his particles. “When a particle devours another one, there's only so much more energy it can contain. What if...I adjust it a bit? The answer may not be devouring each other but a union…”

Bringing two particles together, he slowly began to will them to share their energy and bring them together. It had taken a minute before he achieved the result he was looking for. The two particles had bonded and fused together combining both their energies, creating a super particle with a 10x value of an empowered one.

“Perfect! Now, with the little time I have left, how can I properly cut the time down?”

----------------------(Authors Afterword on this ch this May be a spoiler you have been warned)-------------------

ok so i felt this ch may have held a lot so let me explain things. the church/religion has no name yet so i wouldn't mind if people try to recommend names that fit in with the story.

second i have taken the hierarchy of the catholic church in a way that i use Pope to priest.

third. when i use the term pure blood it is like this.

E.G Avrin is the first proper pure spectral nothing gets more pure than him unless god creates another or something happens.

consider avrin a super pure blood. when he converts people such as Asura, Erebus, Eitri. they can be considered a step lower meaning Pure bloods.

as they convert others it keeps going down a level. Cardinals were converted by pure bloods meaning their power is a step lower than the pure bloods consider them half pure and so forth.

i won't go on to say anything else regarding this as i want to explain it more in the story so it would be considered a major spoiler :)

the 4th thing is avrins meditation technique. bassically because he has experience with dark matter and it's particles as well as the meditation technique god has given him he didn't need to struggle in creating or entering it as the knowledge to do so was already given to he's mind.

that being said everything else is based on his hard work and how intelligent he is such as the breakthrough in combining the particles. i won't add more as it would be considered a spoiler. but basically avrin’s method is learning to empower/control the particles/dark matter that make his very being.

now on to Erebus himself. he arrived at the central city a day after avrin. because avrin and asura were slowed down going at the pace of the humans erebus whose body as well as the cardinals whose strength although fresh and new are still significant as well as their stamina. this allowed them to travel much quicker.

they were 1 day behind avrin by boat. erebus himself acts fast this is because he himself has struggled and seen many horrors in he's life thus when he saw the people of the city in certain areas struggling he acted immediately.

If you have any questions regarding this please pm me or post here :)

P.S im so close to 1000 rep :o wooot thanks guys Wing told me im the highest repd person on RR meaning not even the people in the top 5 come close to me.... it means a lot guys that you find me worthy of rep Q_Q i cant wait to get that 1k achievement XD
