The group preparing to attack Avrin could only watch as he turned and walked away, they then helped their wounded drunk friend and swallowed their pride with only mumbled curses. Avrin gazed at the innkeeper who smiled graciously back.
Soon after Avrin made his way up and entered his own room, he still had a bit of time left, he placed the kirin on the ground and knelt down beside it carefully inspecting it.
“So, I'm not sure what I can feed you, but you belong to me now.” Avrin raised his index finger up as dark matter and nebula mist surged around it slightly, this was a feeling all but familiar to him.
The kirin gazed strangely at him as it tried to crawl back a little. “This will hurt a little….” Avrin took its front right hoof as he carefully stabbed into it. The kirin gave a soft shriek as it wanted to pull away but didn't.
Avrin began to channel the purest form of dark matter he could muster into the creature, thankfully he didn't need to stab into its heart due to Erebus’s discovery. The creature should be thanking him, although the process would be a bit slower it would still lead to the same result.
The kirins body began to shift a little as the mana that made its body began to surge and change slightly. It felt tired as its eyes seemingly shut, Avrin pulled his finger out from the fresh wound that started sealing up. The kirin weakly curled up on the ground as the nebula mist Avrin injected into its hoof surged around it engulfing it like a cocoon.
The process of converting to a spectral took awhile so he now had time to himself. Avrin lowered his hood and removed the cloak before throwing it onto the bed, as well as his enchanted sack that he placed beside it, he then sat in an empty corner and entered a meditative position to check on his inner workings.
It hadn't taken long before he entered. Gazing over it seemed all the type 4 c.particles were now all converted to type 5 c.particles and have even made progress. His body had now been 48% converted to type 5 particles, a look of excitement and achievement appeared in his mind.
After they were converted to type 5 particles he would be able to baptize them within his dark space and make significant progress,
Gazing over the floating book that god had given him that contained all the information he had gone over the first 5 stages were considered the infant stage. After the infant stage was completed one would enter the beginner stage which was focused seemingly on baptizing particles. Particles would be coated and infused with dark matter, just like how a caterpillar feeds before becoming a butterfly.
“-According to this, there are three stages for the beginner stage as opposed to the 5 of the infant. The first stage is to baptize all my particles and infuse them with dark matter, this process takes a bit of time, after that I will enter the second stage which is the cocoon stage. This stage puts my particles in a sub dormant state meaning I will be greatly weakened and in a vulnerable position as a sort of hibernation, I will have to be careful at this point.
The third stage is breaking from this cocoon, the new particles will be reborn and greatly strengthened unable to be compared to the one's before, just how a caterpillar cannot be compared to a butterfly, I suppose these particles will be known as butterfly particles, to put it simply.
The third stage itself is to feed these particles even more pure dark matter, the purer the better, once they have been fed and are full I will be able to enter the dark stage, though the dark stage doesn't have much information I am also unaware of what lies beyond, all that is stated for the dark stage is “” The wings of darkness ignites the void.” “Riddles, why does my advancement have to be set in some riddle.-”
Thinking carefully Avrin had plenty of time to contemplate it, though at this current stage his progress was acceptable for him, he also wondered if Kael had reached the north and they had all begun their regime of training, he truly wanted to see results.
An hour had passed since Avrin entered meditation, the curtain of dark matter across the kirin had now vanished to reveal the creature. It seemed to look the same except not only did it look much healthier it seemed to emit a radiance and no longer looked weak and malnourished.
It stood up and stretched before yawning. Though it looked around as its stomach rumbled a little, its eyes were now emitting a purple and blue radiant glow. It gazed at avrin and saw that he seemed to be busy in meditation, it didn't want to bother him so it glanced around. It spotted his cloak on the bed and saw that it emitted dark matter.
It rushed over and quickly opened its mouth as a sort of vacuum appeared, the dark matter particles that made Avrin’s cloak began to rip apart as if it were deconstructing, within moments it devoured the entire cloak, giving a soft burp, despite this it still didn't feel satisfied as he glanced over, it spotted Avrin’s enchanted sack.
It approached it and sniffed curiously, the sack was open somewhat, allowing it to stick its head inside, from there one could guess the events that would occur next.
Avrin of course had already felt the kirin had awoken but didn't bother with it yet, as he assisted his particles somewhat more, he also examined his dark space to see it emit a more powerful stability, “-No doubt converting aegis was a great idea, a shame I couldn't receive the other half of the sigil.”
Finally happy with his progress there was not much Avrin could do but allow his body to progress at its own rate, as he left the meditation he opened his eyes and gazed only to see the kirin standing up with its head inside the enchanted sack, the sight would make anyone laugh as it looked as if the kirin had a shrunken head hidden by the sack, but to Avrin a horrified pained look appeared.
“y...you damned thing!!” Avrin quickly rushed over and removed the sack from its head before he looked inside of it quickly, he reached around trying to see if anything was missing, but gazing around his heart dropped and skipped a few beats.
He had never felt so wronged in his entire life, the sack was completely empty, a look of misery appeared on Avrin’s face. “No…..the ores I had stored….the ring...the ring!!! MY SKYMETAL!!”. Avrin truly wanted to cry tears of misfortune, but the emotion of sadness wasn't very strong due to his dark matter heart, that being said he still felt wronged.
He turned to gaze at the kirin which seemed to emit a more radiant glow, it glanced at Avrin before giving what appeared to be a thankful smile. Avrin glared at the creature, he would consider gutting it had it not been for the fact that it devoured objects by using nebula mist.
“Perfect...this is just perfect…” Avrin sighed as he sat on the side of the bed and rubbed his forehead, of course the kirin jumped onto the bed and curled up beside him, he glanced at the creature before narrowing his eyes. “Amazing to think it could so easily absorb all those things…”
Avrin thought for a moment before sighing, he glanced at the creature which then looked up at him and was about to give a soft comfortable neigh before Avrin bonked it on the head, the kirin quickly gave a look of being wronged as it gave a confused growl. “You damned glutton...you ate something incredibly valuable to me! Don't you act as if you're wronged.”
The kirin remained quiet, it had been converted by Avrin and had a basic understanding of the language of this world, though it was still newly converted and didn't understand everything, it frowned a little and gave a stupid look not sure what he meant.
Avrin stood up and extended his divine sense out, he shut his eyes before feeling around the area, he was looking for any traces of angels that may be linked to Abbadon, but thankfully not one appeared. “Regardless let's go, I have no need for staying here anymore.”
Avrin placed his hand over the kirins head, it felt that he was going to pat him so it gladly obliged, but it was wrong, both Avrin and the kirin seemingly turned to ash as he had used his divine sense to transport them both many miles away from the city within a mountainous desolate region, it was also quite far away from where he had originally arrived, the kirin felt its body tighten up, it was its first time experiencing the divine step and it's mind was disoriented.
Avrin glanced over at a small hidden cliff face, nebula mist shot towards it like a blow torch as it effortlessly devoured away at it, the kirin watched with awe as it looked over at a nearby rock before trying to emit its own nebula mist but all that came out was a small unsatisfactory burp, Avrin glanced at the creature before sighing with regret, he began to walk and appeared inside the cave he had created that extended in about 15 meters.
He raised his hand as nebula mist created a large sitting cushion that he sat on cross legged, he then raised his right hand and began to form a large spherical object that appeared somewhat transparent with floating nebula mist inside of it. This was a sphere identical to the one he had given Erebus and Kael, it was used to transfer information.
Avrin rolled the sphere over to the kirin and glanced ruthlessly at it, “The current dumb you will no doubt cause problems, absorb this.” Avrin then shut his eyes as he reentered his inner workings. The kirin walked over to the sphere as it pressed its hoof over it before rolling it around as if it were a toy, after sniffing it, it began to absorb it, a flood of information surged into its mind.
The first was a better understanding of language and the next was the technique to develop and train its body as a spectral, followed by an understanding of Avrin and his people, as well as the situation of wanting to be hidden, lastly was Avrin’s disdain for it eating something very valuable to him, and an order from Avrin to it to begin training itself.
Avrin had a spare sack but it had eaten everything from the ring that contained the skymetal to the dark matter cores, he needed it to use it all to develop its body otherwise it may find a backlash.
The kirin felt fear well up, even now it felt its body was hurting somewhat, it quickly curled up as it began to use the methods Avrin had given it to help itself advance.
Several hours had passed and the time set to meet the chieftain had soon arrived, currently within a large room carved from previous rock and marble, two individuals were seated, one was a large towering humanoid creature half man half wolf, he was tapping his finger onto the sturdy marble seat he was on, beside him was the lizardman merchant who had a nervous look on his face as he sweated bullets.
“Your so called spatial ring customer doesn't seem to be coming….” the large bulk individual spoke. The lizardman gulped as he uttered. “C..Chieftain Giron...m..maybe he tricked me...and said all this to avoid trouble and allow him to flee?...” the lizardman of course was not dumb as it tried to cover its scaly hide.
“Humph…very well, you are sure he has the tribe symbol?” Giron spoke, the lizardman nodded, “Of course my lord!”
Giron raised his hand and pulled out a large square piece of wood that had several magical dots on it, glancing over he noticed all these dots, each one had a numeric value to them, he glanced at one dot with the number 114 he narrowed his eyes. “Very well. Stay here, I will go see our guest personally…” Giron stood up before his body flickered from the room leaving behind a slight lift in the wind.

Back within the cave the kirin raised its head as it felt its stomach rumble a little, it looked down confused, of course the reason for this was because it had eaten everything within the sack it truly was unable to quickly absorb it all, and a lot of it remained in its stomach slowly being devoured by its limited nebula mist.
The ring was currently engulfed in nebula mist as it was slowly being eaten away, the dark matter cores were untouched, and the wooden symbol given to Avrin was slowly radiating a faint mana signal, most of which was devoured by the nebula mist but enough got through it to alert Giron.
The kirins actions quickly alerted Avrin, it tried to speak but the knowledge given to it by Avrin was not enough, it also didn't have the proper vocal cords, so it spoke trying to use the telepathy stated inside the sphere. “muaster...mwaster..” it tried to speak telepathically to Avrin.
Avrin who was helping the progress of his body had managed to help it reach 53% which was significant for just a few hours. He suddenly opened his eyes and gazed at the kirin a little confused, of course with his sense he spotted the faint mana coming from within its body, emitting his divine sense around it, his eyes widened greatly as his lips curled into a smile, he stood up and walked over to the kirin.
“You, hairy horse, just remain still… and open your mouth.” The kirin didn't dare disobey Avrin as it knew just how he could be now that it learnt a bit from the sphere he had given it.
With its mouth wide open Avrin navigated nebula mist down the creature's throat, a look of disgust appeared on Avrin’s face but when he knew the reward he would no doubt be eager to get his treasures back.
The nebula mist soon arrived inside the kirins large stomach, Avrin using it was able to engulf everything within the mist before he soon shut his eyes and concentrated, within moments everything that it had eaten turned to ash and then reappeared on the ground beside Avrin who of course quickly left the disgruntled kirin who seemed to look hungry again.
He gazed over at everything on the ground, some of the dark matter cores had been digested and there were now at least 50 instead of 83, the ring had been somewhat digested and now leaked mana which made Avrin nervous.
He also spotted the mask which was chewed on, the mask itself symbolized the time when he learnt blacksmithing despite being able to form it from dark matter he had made sure to keep the entire structure perfectly intact when absorbing it so it would forever remain the same.
“You stubborn vile creature…” Avrin sighed before emitting nebula mist over it all to disintegrate the saliva covering it all, he than used it to repair the half eaten mask, and then after storing everything back in the enchanted sack other than the spacal ring which was now being held by Avrin, who looked at it curiously with a strange expression.
“Interesting…” the more Avrin looked at it, he could see the mana wasn't leaking from the ring itself but from a slight tear that was leaking out. Avrin wasn't sure what would happen once the mana contained within the ring vanished, but his guess was that it would collapse in on itself and everything inside would be lost for good.
A string of nebula mist surged over towards the faint stream of mana that leaked out before it tied around it and slowly began to use it as a sort of rope to climb, soon the nebula mist approached the distorted space.
Of course Avrin didn't have time to take this to Giron who may cause some trouble at this point due to the rings damage, he could only pray that this worked.
The nebula mist slipped against the distorted space before seemingly vanishing, of course Avrin could feel where it had went.
His eyes shut he soon used the nebula mist this time as a rope for his divine sense, extending out he was able to see the space, it was 2x2 meters in diameter and slowly closing in, the ring contained many seemingly precious items from ores to trinkets and the like, of course the space was shrinking and anything it shrunk to and touched would warp slightly and vanish into nothingness.
Avrin quickly extending more nebula mist and his divine sense around until he discovered what he was after, a look of greed appeared on his face as he quickly engulfed that large chunk of skymetal that had been sealed up.
It had taken a minute with his current handicap to gather enough nebula mist to do so. The space was only a few inches away from touching the skymetal which caused Avrin to be a little nervous.
He quickly used his divine step on the object causing it to turn to ash before a large stream of nebula mist shot towards the small tear that the mana leaked out of, another minute soon passed and a cloud of nebula mist hung over Avrin, by now the spacial ring was only a couple feet in diameter, but Avrin had no more use for it as he focused on the cloudy nebula mist that soon reformed perfectly into the skymetal.
Reforming it was quite easy because it had never been absorbed heavily, its structure was perfectly preserved and putting it together was much easier to do.
The sealed chunk of skymetal soon fell down from the air and landed within Avrin’s hands. Avrin tossed the broken spacial ring to the side as he held the skymetal as if it were his own child, he gazed over at the kirin which was sniffing away at the spacial ring.
“”mwaster...eweat it?..” it spoke to Avrin who only looked at it as if he was looking at Asura. “Yes yes… you can eat it you clueless glutton...” he then turned to look again at the skymetal with a wide grin on his face, he was wondering just what would it form into after his dark heart refined it. Would it cause trouble for him just like Astaroth did?
A gust of wind suddenly appeared outside the cave, Avrin of course felt it, his eyes widened as he turned to look at the half devoured symbol on the ground that he hadn't bothered storing, it was emitting a mana burst which seemed to trigger every few seconds like a signal.
“-perfect…-” Avrin spoke dejectedly before gazing over his divine sense emitting out as he spotted a figure casually walking inside the cave. his face twisted a little. as he realised just who it was.
“-That's right...Giron, Chieftain Giron, the beastmen tribes leader, and sigil wielder, unlike Leo, Zircus, Syrana, and Myra who decided to split their sigil weapons in half, Giron uses a full sigil weapon like Abbadon…-”
A look of interest appeared on Avrin’s face, if this was before he would be nervous but after his advancement he was now much stronger than when he fought and tricked Abbadon and Leo.
The large bulky figure entered the caves depths to see Avrin holding a large round object which was covered by some seals, the figure then glanced at the kirin which was chewing on something as it glanced over at him, the kirin then hissed at him as if feeling he had no good intentions.
“You know. when a promise of a deal is made, it's common courtesy to keep that promise…” The figure who indeed was the sigil wielder Giron spoke over towards Avrin whose expression didn't seem to glance back.
“Indeed, and I apologize, the ring received damage and doesn't work anymore, in the end I obtained what I wanted from it…”
Hearing Avrin’s words Giron carefully analysed the situation, he listened to Avrin’s words and gazed at what he was holding, he carefully put two and two together. A spacial ring was a very very precious object, if this person was willing to part with it for the item he was after, wouldn't the item he coveted be worth much more than the ring itself?
A hint of greed appeared on Girons face as he smiled before laughing heartily of course the laugh contained a trace amount of his beastial aura, this was the aura of a being who had just reached the legendary rank. “That is fine, it’s all fine, well for making the beastmen tribes leader and sigil wielder wait, compensation must be given…”
Avrin glanced over at Giron with a straight expression. “Compensation?...I don't have anything for you, what do you want?” Even Avrin was quite curious as to what Giron may want.
Giron smiled as he glanced at the skymetal Avrin held, “Well what your holding now looks to be quite important and expensive, you should know the value of a spacial ring and its history, how about you give me whatever you are holding and I will be on my way.
A spacial ring created by an ancient enigma level ability user is priceless not many were made. I am sure you can understand the situation, that is why if you give me that object you are holding we can call it eve…”
While Giron was talking, outside of the cave things seemed to be peaceful, some birds would fly about and the cliff face seemed to give a good view of the suroundings, suddenly the air shook as the cave entrance was blown apart, a figure was sent flying crashing down the cliff face like a meteor before smashing into the ground.
The figures legs maintained balance as he landed feet first, his arms were crossed in front of him and they seemed a bit bloodied, a look of shock appeared on his face.
This was the Chieftain Giron. As the dust settled from his crash downwards another figure appeared from the ruined cave entrance, Avrin looked down with a annoyed expression towards Giron before uttering a setence. “Compensation?....my skymetal you want it?...you delusional animal...are you crazy?...do you know the trouble I went through for this?…” Avrin was clearly irritated that this creature, sigil wielder or not, wanted his skymetal.
Avrin’s aura pulsed out as his phantom pulse extended over Giron who felt an immense pressure, he immediately roared out with a trace amount of fear. “-Just who is this man….I’ve never felt this sort of power from those other than sigil wielders and dragons…-” Giron clenched his teeth before he roared out.
“URSA!!” suddenly a tyrannical aura engulfed Giron as it was violently orange with a red hue, the phantom pulse Avrin emitted over him was easily dispatched to be replaced by the violent berserk aura. Giron was left standing with a large great axe in his right hand, the axe itself seemed to be the source of Giron’s berserk aura. He looked at Avrin with anger in his eyes.
“Not many individuals are capable of landing a hit on me...I feel if I don't take you seriously it will be my undoing…” Giron raised Ursa in the air before he roared out “DRAGON SLAYER”. Everything seemed to stop for a moment as Ursa came down like a mountain.
Avrin’s eyes flickered with caution as Ursa cleaved downwards, the pressure and energy released from the attack caused the cliff face to split in two.
Avrin had already used his short distance void step to quickly flee the attacks trajectory, though the attack didn't stop there as the mountain behind it was also cleaved in two. Any creatures or individuals caught in the attack were instantly killed with no hope of fighting back.
Avrin knew that this was bad, no doubt a fight like this would attract abaddon who seemed to have eyes everywhere. “Astaroth!…”
Avrin called out before he dashed over towards Giron, the best way to defeat a sigil wielder was to quickly catch them off guard. Using his void step Avrin’s body flickered towards Giron who roared out, before slashing towards Avrin causing the air to split and the space to slightly distort.
-------------
regarding why avrin didn't retrieve the items earlier from the kirins stomach this was brought up to me by a pr so i wanted to share my answer for readers who may seem confused.
""" The reason why he didn't do so in the beginning was because he had thought the kirin absorbed everything with nebula mist and not a scrap was left, but as it turned out it didn't do so and just ate them using its mouth.
Of course its body is still newly converted and its absorbing ability's isn't strong enough yet and only a few of the items were digested by the nebula mist inside of it.
Avrin only discovered this because the symbol givin to him by the lizard resonated in its stomach releasing mana, it was then that he emited divine sense and scanned its stomach to see all the stuff he had was infact eaten by it and was slowly being digested, he could then quickly obtain it all by using his nebula mist to transfer/teleport/divine step it out. :D
