Avrin had been in his cross legged position for a few hours now. He had formed several void bolts and began to split them into tiny spheres as he tried to control each one individually, of course he failed to control a few as they grew too many in number and too small in size for a non augmented eye to see. The ones that dropped onto the ground had vanished without damaging the floor.
Avrin also decided to practice augmenting his hands at a rapid pace to get used to the pain it was quite intense when it was forced but he knew in a life and death situation he couldn't be distracted by the thought of it. Someone may look at Avrin and think this training was useless but he considered every bit worth it. He had nothing else to do since he was waiting for the other books to sync with his body just like the fishing book he absorbed yesterday.
As dawn broke at 7:30am Avrin stood up before stretching, his body felt a little stiff but then the dark matter making up his body worked its healing properties and fixed the issue.
Avrin did not intend to spend another day in the village even though he had paid for several nights. Time was something he wanted to make use of. He intended to try and read the tablet once he got a fair distance away from the village as his curiosity was indeed peaked. Although unlike the 2 men in the bookshop Avrin knew obtaining the sky metal was bound to be a deadly task. He wondered why they were as arrogant as to assume it would be something easy.
As he walked out he noticed that the floor had a sweet scent, possibly washed recently. He grinned as he remembered the guard who vomited. As Avrin made his way downstairs he encountered the lady at the front desk who greeted him “Hello sir you are up quite early” she smiled before motioning around to which Avrin saw no one was up. He replied “Yes it seems I couldn't sleep well “ the lady nodded and sighed “I apologise about the commotion it seems the book store was robbed and the book keeper injured severely” she then whispered “I heard he lost an arm. What sort of a cruel monster would do such a thing?” Avrin couldn't help but roll his eyes under the protection of the cloaks hood. “I suppose. Oh yes, something came up so I must depart from this village..” The lady blinked and pouted sadly “I suppose that means you're after a refund?” Avrin laughed softly “Not at all, I enjoyed the meals here. This inn has earnt it.” At this point the lady gave a quiet cheer before looking behind Avrin and smiling. Avrin then looked to be welcomed by a happy voice “Sir Avrin! you also wake up at this time?.. “ It was none other than Larissa and Serena, the elves who Avrin seemed to find annoying considering that she looked like Syrana.
“This is a one time thing as I have to travel..” Larissa nodded and stretched “Did you also encounter the guards sir Avrin? The book keeper was attacked last night and had several things stolen.” The lady at the front desk replied “Ahh yes, I was just talking to him about that. I wonder who would do it. It must of been something important.” Larissa and the lady began to chat away while Avrin began to quietly walk off. He had no intention of staying more but he caught the elves’ attention as she cautiously gazed at him and whispered enough for him to hear.
“Avrin was it?.. If you have any ill intentions I recommend you do well to keep as far from Larissa and the others as possible...I won't hesitate to protect my comrades..” Avrin was taken aback by her words but only smiled. His lips revealed but his nose and higher hidden by the protection of the hood. “I dont have any intentions of seeing any of you again...do me the favor and keep yourselves from me…” He replied not hesitating to proclaim he didn't want to have anything to do with them.
Of course Serena let out a small grunt as she watched Avrin exit the building to which Larissa turned and called out “W..Wait sir Avr-” Before she could continue a voice was heard coming from upstairs and heading down. “Ahh I’m so hungry!!! those damn guards were so irritating…” It was none other than Jin following Aleyn and Meika. Aleyn sighed and responded. “If I hadn't stopped you, you would have sent one out of the window…” He noticed his sister and Serena and waved at them both.
He spoke out towards his sister “Larissa, are you and Serena heading out to buy supplies?” Larissa smiled and nodded as she had somewhat gotten over Avrin suddenly leaving “Mhm, brother are we also intending on visiting the shrine before we leave?”
Aleyn nodded “It’s only fair we pay our respects to the gods before we leave”
While the two chatted about, Jin and Meika went over to the tables waiting to make their orders. Serena was thinking of their course of actions and Larissa and Aleyn were speaking to the lady at the front desk.
Avrin was currently making his way down the street. It seemed the merchants were setting up their shops or already had them set. He could hear the whispers concerning the bookstore and decided to avoid its direction instead he went down the food market area to the west but not before something caught his eye. He went over to what seemed like an adventurer dealer who was selling an assortment of items. He noticed avrin and smiled.
“Hello sir, care to purchase some healing potions they only take 20 minutes to kick in. They were brewed by a master alchemist. For you, a first time customer, only 10 gold each.” Avrin somewhat scoffed at such a price. He then spoke to the dealer “I need something to carry supplies, food items, the lot..” He spoke with only one thing on his mind.
The man nodded and smiled while rubbing his hand and went over to the back of his makeshift store and pulled out what seemed like a large dark brown sack that had engravings that glowed over it. “This is an enchanted sack crafted by a master tailor using Demon Bear fur. It was also enchanted by a mage with an augmentation to allow it to carry nearly 10x its amount. Although the weight of the items still apply..”
Avrin was curious regarding this and spoke “Show me..” The merchant wasted no time to test it. He began putting in potions and all sort of items before Avrin told him to stop with a pleased look. Avrin went over to pick it up and felt it indeed had the accumulated weight of the items but it still didn't seem heavy for him. he looked inside the sack and saw that the items had all shrunk and emitted a low mana glow. He gazed at the man who seemed to look at Avrin worryingly.
“How much?” Avrin wanted this item as it would save some time and effort as well as fit in. Afterall, who would find a traveler with a magical carry sack with supplies. To them he may aswell be any other adventurer out there. The merchant grinned and spoke.

“Only 53 gold, first time customer price...I would usually sell these at 230 gold each but since this is also an older one that hadn't sold for awhile I figured I’d give it away at that price” Avrin saw no issue with this and reached into his current sack which would indeed cry at itself being replaced, if it could think.
After handing in the gold and watching the greedy merchant put it away he remembered something as he took the sack that was now emptied. “How much are mana potions?..” Avrin wanted to try another experiment but this time on himself. “Hmm... For you, 8 gold each for lesser potions. But they come in normal and greater ones aswell. Unfortunately I don't have anything of higher quality”
Avrin nodded it seemed like potions themselves were either expensive or this merchant just wanted to rip him off. “I’ll buy 5 lesser potions for 25 gold.” The merchant seemed to chuckle at Avrin’s offer but then widened his eyes as he began to see Avrin walk off “ W..Wait, please, how about 35 gold!!. “Avrin knew there were other potion merchants around and he was not at a loss other than time. But at that point he stopped as the merchant conceded as he was 2 meters away “O..Ok 25 gold coins…” He was on the verge of tears.
After a good half an hour Avrin had an enchanted sack with 5 lesser mana potions as well as a half a kilo of preserved meat and half a kilo of assorted fruits. He even had some vegetables. This was all he really needed, if push came to shove he had no issue making his own resources.
Avrin made his way out towards the west exit which seemed to have several guards checking bags. This wasn't the case when he arrived a couple of days ago, but it seemed like the book keeper had pleaded for assistance.
As Avrin approached the gate his bag was checked and he was let through. At that point he looked forward and noticed that the west seemed to have quite a bit of dense forest, but even more so mountainous terrain in the distance. To the sides of the path was farm land and on the path itself were merchant traders going back and forth.
Avrin began to journey towards the west. His intentions were to nurture his ability as well as train his body. In his universe training was essential for a soldier but Avrin had put the hard work aside, mostly due to having to deal with other issues. He had figured this was a sort of balance for the issue.
As he walked on for 20 minutes he could see the village become smaller and smaller as well as the people traversing the path become more distant as the gap was widened. Avrin made his way through. He then suddenly stopped as he looked over to his right side seeing what seemed like an old man wearing a somewhat torn cloak with a strange emblem on it and holding a cane that seemed to be made from some sort of wood.
His back was against a large oak like tree and surrounding him were 5 young individuals brandishing bandit like clothing as well as weapons. With his ears now augmented he over heard them.
“Old man, give up your belongings and you won't get hurt..” One young individual with a bald head spoke as he made a stabbing motion with his shabby dagger as if to threaten the old man.
Another man who had a near bald head spoke out. He looked more so like a perverted individual who would make even the fat lady scream. “And give up that kid behind ya...We can make quite a few gold coin off of it…”
“Kid?..” Avrin blinked before his eyes picked up a small figure half the size of the old man who was covered by a cloak with only his long white beard hanging out and his cane down with his hands on it. “Hmm” before he could think some more a voice rang out from the child “I'm not an it you perverted bastard! I’m a guy! I may look like a girl, but I'm a guy!!”
The bandit that had not been able to tell the child's gender referring to him as an it narrowed his eyes as he clenched his short sword “You little shit...What did you call me?…” The bandits began to get closer to the old man and the child who was hiding behind him backed towards the tree some more with the old man staying quiet. Avrin could be quite cruel sometimes when he wanted to achieve a goal, but seeing useless trash picking on the weak for scraps and with intention to become involved in slavery made even him feel somewhat sick.
He began to approach and called out towards the group of bandits. “Although I have seen many irritating issues as well as encountered problems in my lifetime… You are the lowest life form I have the displeasure of coming across.”
The bandits stopped as a few looked at him. One, who seemed to be burly, folded his arms looked behind his back and spoke to Avrin “Bastard, stay right there we will deal with you soon enough…” As the bandits chuckled and the leader looked back and Avrin sighed quietly.
He formed a void bolt in his right palm as the leader blinked to himself knowing something was wrong. He quickly unsheathed his claymore and slashed it downwards behind himself at the moment Avrin had indeed fired it towards him. the leader smirked as the bolt exploded into tiny spheres but his smile soon faded as avrin had stolen it.
the other bandits stopped to see that their leader was surrounded by several dozen one inch purple spheres that came out of the split void bolt. avrin spoke
“unfortunately for you, because of a certain whore I had developed this just incase something like this would happen in my current state…”
The leader nervously spoke “H..Hey lets talk this over...F..From the look of things you seem to be a skilled mage with some unique magic..W..We were just playing around with these two, we will leave...R..Right guys?..”
The other bandits nodded quietly knowing their leader and friend for years was in danger. The child came out to look from the quiet old mans side and seemed to watch in awe.
Avrin smiled to himself “Indeed you were… But just incase…” The several dozen spheres from that one void bolt began to spin in a circle around the man and then they all shot outwards at a frightening speed hitting the arms and legs of every bandit leaving large holes in the flesh or intensely painful bruises with black scorch marks that seemed to devour a bit and turn the flesh to ash.
as they screamed and fell to the ground in agony the old man didn't cover the child's eyes, infact he moved to the side as if telling him this is the world you will come to grow in. Avrin began to walk off as he had taken care of the issue. He was not seeking a reward, but rather having a personal obligation to help clean trash like this in some circumstances if he could.
At that point the old man and the child began to follow him back onto the path to which the man covered in the cloak spoke out. “Dear traveler, won't you please wait a moment?…”
