Avrin clearly looked quite unique, there would be many men who would be jealous of how he looked. He currently gazed around the dining room that had gotten quiet and tilted his head. “Is...something wrong?” He looked at himself wondering if there was something on him but he clearly knew it was because of his appearance. He just played a long due to finding the moment funny.

Shimaru cleared his throat before letting out a chuckle and speaking “Ho ho ho! Avrin, I didn’t know it was you! I thought for a moment an angel had decided to turn up for dinner. My oh my, I never knew your appearance would look so unusual.

I have seen many demons but you are the first to have that angelic appearance..Hmm, no, it is more unique than that” While Shimaru was examining him, Avrin was showed to his seat by a blushing maid that had stuttered with her words while leading him to it.

Ayame’s face had turned a shy pink as she looked at Avrin. Clearly his appearance alone was enough to cause her to forget her anger towards the male for a moment, but Amias had noticed this and grinned as he lightly bumped Ayame and whispered.

“Hehe, hey sis, does this mean Avrin is going to be my older bro??” He let out a wide grin while gazing at her. Ayame snapped back into reality as her face turned a deeper shade of red while a vein appeared on her forehead, glaring at Amias as she was about to hit him. Izanami spoke out towards Avrin.

“Oh sir Avrin my you are so handsome. I can't remember in my life that I have ever seen such an interesting looking individual. Grandfather is correct, you are unique.” She spoke in a seductive tone while trying to undress Avrin with her eyes and scooting a bit closer to him.

This made Avrin blink a few times before he gave an uncomfortable look in front of this tigress that clearly saw him as prey to eat. To his thanks, Calias spoke out.

“Izanami our guest is not someone for you to see as fodder for your loins..”

Her mother lightly chuckled and spoke “Oh Calias, she is still young. After all, our guest is indeed handsome.” Her words made Calias shut his eyes for a moment before shaking his head slightly and sighing, then smiling towards Avrin and speaking, ignoring his daughter. Izanami’s gazed towards the individual.

“Avrin was it? I am glad father has found someone he has deemed worthy of personally training.. The white dragon clan is often secretive and we do not like to show outsiders who we are, which is why we act normally when not tending to training or our rituals.

I do hope you will impress me as much as you have impressed my father. After all, considering he hasn't picked his own son who is considered a genius among the clan. I look forward to seeing what is better.”

He gave a somewhat smug look towards Avrin to which Avrin replied with just a faint smile while gazing into his eyes. The man was indeed currently stronger than Avrin, but Avrin was not one to let individuals stronger then him think they mentally got to him.

“Calias you’re still sad about that? Ho ho ho stop moping boy. Besides, Avrin has yet to accept my invitation to personally train him”

Avrin gazed towards Shimaru and spoke “Regarding that. I have decided to accept with the condition that no personal questions are asked…That is all I require.”

Shimaru stood silent for a moment before gazing at Avrin, realising that such a condition may be told for good reason, he was curious to what Avrin himself was hiding, but did not let it get in the way. Calias on the other hand was eating silently, quite annoyed at his father's comments towards him at the end.

Shimaru spoke firmly with a smile “Avrin, I gladly accept on the condition that you do not complain about my training methods.”

Avrin raised a brow. Wasn't this man the one that had asked him to begin with, with no conditions? He shook his head to himself slightly before nodding. After all, the harder the training, the better the results. Besides, he as a general had gone through quite a bit in his previous world. How hard could it be.

“I accept.” Avrin spoke kindly and Amias and Ayame, who were arguing silently with each other, stopped and gazed at Avrin. Amias had a wide smile, as if he wanted to dance in a cheer, while Ayame had her mouth open and brow raised in a “huh” expression. She then spoke

“G..Grandfather, how can you so easily let this outsider join!! And even personally train him. There have been many famous individuals whose names are known that you have not looked at twice...What makes him so special..!”

Ayame spoke out in a sort of rant that made everyone, including Calias, somewhat shocked. Shimaru placed his hands inside his hakama’s sleeves before taking a deep breathe and replying.

“Ayame, you have a lot to learn...Very well, I’ll show you what I mean. Tomorrow, come with Avrin at 8:00AM to the white spring lake and prepare for a duel between you two…”

Ayame nodded then gazed at Avrin she was quite curious to see how strong Avrin was. After all, she had easily gotten behind him and could have killed him to.

Avrin on the other hand let a soft sigh escaped his lips. The first day under his so called teacher’s training regime involved a duel with his psychotic granddaughter who held anger towards him. It seemed females on Seleria either loved or hated him. He cursed his weird luck in his mind.

“Very well” Avrin spoke. This also benefited him. He wanted to get stronger and a duel with someone who is equal, or stronger than him on fair grounds should be interesting.

Other than that, dinner that night went on as one would expect. With Izanami trying to win Avrin’s favor, but he would often lightly turn her down. She went as far as to try and feed him in a way that couples would even though Ayame called her names.

Calias was sighing, almost face palming, at the daughters he had brought up. While his wife tried to ease the feeling as she explained it's how girls their ages worked.

Amias was trying to convince his grandfather to be personally trained, but Shimaru kept turning him down trying to make it sound gruesome. One wouldn’t expect that this family had the blood of shinobi in them.

The white dragon clan had, in the past, tried their best to assimilate into the ways of how people on the central continent would act. This was because if they were ever found here by individuals, those individuals would think nothing special of them other than their fancy taste for homes.

This was also second nature to them, being trained quite hard but also putting on their normal lives as if it were comfortable, was quite amazing.

Later that night, when dinner had ended and the servants were cleaning. Amias had been sent to bed with 2 servants leading him. Ayame decided to go train in a dojo to prepare for the match tomorrow, regardless of how Avrin was, she didn't want to underestimate her opponent.

Izanami, feeling tonight she wouldn't win Avrin’s favor, decided to get some rest and try again another time. While Calias and his wife would go rest up.

Avrin was standing outside, gazing at the dense forest and looking up at the stars. He hadn't felt this out of danger in quite a while. Even though he had a duel tomorrow, he felt Shimaru didn't seem like the type to betray him so easily after getting to know him a bit better.

Avrin, as a general, found it hard to trust officers who tried to get his support to rise in the ranks. they had no care towards him, only to please themselves. Even his own crew turned on him in the end.

Shimaru wasn't like that. Avrin pondered this, he was older and wiser and also much stronger. He had nothing to gain by training. Considering the clan’s circumstances, it wasn't as if they were going to send him to war. It was most likely the feeling of wanting to train someone with potential.

Avrin rubbed the back of his head and sighed before thinking “-I suppose trusting this man wouldn't hurt. After all it would be incredibly hard to live in this world without having a few close individuals-”

As Avrin thought about this, Shimaru came and gave him a large pat on the back that seemed to cause him to take a step forward. Avrin coughed a bit.

“Ho ho ho Avrin, tomorrow I shall see how you fare in a real battle against an expert! I must warn you, Ayame can be quite sadistic to those she hates. Ahh I remember when she was only 8 and she defeated a 14 year old who had been training for years longer than her.

After she had beaten him in the sparring match, she even went as far as hitting him with her bare hands. But I suppose it can't be helped. He did call her a useless runt afterall. Ho ho ho, even now that boy, who is now an established shinobi of our clan, bows to her whenever he sees her.”

Avrin shivered slightly “-Sadistic sounds like an understatement, heh..-” He thought to himself before smiling.

“I shall see you tomorrow Avrin. I’m sure you would like to prepare yourself. Ayame is already in the dojo to the east of this place training. In all honesty Avrin, I don’t expect you to win. It is more so to teach her a lesson”

Avrin blinked before laughing quietly. It seemed like a weird joke, but it truthfully made him laugh slightly “Haha… It sounds interesting, Teacher” He spoke those words which made Shimaru grin happily “I'm curious to know what lesson you will teach someone by them hurting another individual”

Shimaru also laughed after Avrin put it in those words before nodding “You will have to wait and see, I won't go easy on you Avrin. I see potential in you unlike any other I have seen before...I intend to do my best to bring it out to the fullest. It must be a sign from the gods having sent you to me”

Avrin thought this man put too much faith on these gods. It was obviously on his own will and not some half baked individuals with barely enough power together to make a world.

Shimaru spoke while Avrin thought. “I shall be off, Avrin. I have my own duties I need to attend to. As for tonight, train or rest. It’s up to you.”

Avrin felt Shimaru was somewhat easy going as a teacher. Especially as a man that was considered incredibly powerful. There had to be something hidden. After Shimaru left, Avrin decided to walk around.

There was no doubt he intended to lose, and as a general he had strategies from an incredible number of battles. This female ninja had underestimated Avrin even when she intended not to.

After Avrin asked for directions to the white spring lake, he quietly made his way over towards it. It was a 10 minute walk north of the mansion, through the forest.

It seemed like the forest itself was quiet. Even as the night breeze quietly brushed against his cheeks, it was a calm, serene feeling. He didn't feel like there were wild creatures around.

After Avrin reached the lake he widened his eyes to see a beautiful pristine lake in a near perfect circle. As if it was cleaved from the land. The full moon’s light reflecting off it with the glittering reflections of the stars.

Avrin gazed around trying to take into account the terrain, but not before using his augmented eyes to get a better view of it. Even in the full moon’s light he didn't want to take a chance and forget something.

Avrin smirked to himself before he raised both his hands, emitting nebula mists from both of them.

“I’m sorry Ayame, but I will have to make sure your respect is given.” A dark grin appeared on his face as he began to tinker around with the area.

11 hours had passed and it was 10:00AM on the dot. Shimaru had earlier came to see Avrin sitting down, leaning against a tree with his eyes shut. Shimaru grinned as he looked around, feeling something was off, but he couldn't put his mind to it. As they waited, Ayame arrived in her shinobi attire. She seemed quite psyched, but her outward appearance showed she was a little bit fatigued. Most likely due to the all night training with little rest. She had intended to sleep after a few hours but she herself had gotten to into it.

“Ahh very good, you are both here. Well then” Shimaru gazed at Avrin who had changed his attire to a black fur/leather like outfit he had formed after completing his tinkering. He had used the hakama as a template after absorbing it, knowing if Shimaru wanted it he could reform it.

“Avrin...I will make sure grandfather sees that I am more worthy than you.” Avrin chuckled quietly. Clearly this girl was crazy and wanted attention, he thought to himself before smiling and replying as the two were lined up with each other over 30 meters in distance away. But still calling out enough for her to hear as if wanting to taunt her. “Dear Ayame, if you feel that you are not worthy, I shall clear a spot in my heart to please you”

Shimaru grinned as he was gazing from the lake, preparing to start the duel. Ayame’s face was red while she showed signs of anger from Avrin’s words towards her. She did not like being looked down upon or even treated too much like a girl. She could beat many experts in the clan at her age.

“I can see Ayame is about to explode with anger, so with those words sent I must explain that killing is not allowed and whoever gives up is considered the loser. And with that said begi-”

Waiting to hear those words, Ayame rushed towards Avrin with incredible speed. Not letting her grandfather finish. Avrin, who fully knew how fast she could be already, had his eyes augmented and could see her. But she was still faster than expected. He smirked while sweating slightly. It was his first proper battle with an expert after all. He uttered two words while raising his palm.

“Shadow wall….” The ground began to rumble as purple mist seeped out from it shooting up like geysers in many spots before forming in many large 2 meter wide by 3 meter tall pitch black metallic walls that seemed to have a glow. Little did those two know that Avrin had spent all night tinkering with the landscape to develop a technique with his current knowledge that would let him combat Ayame.
