Well, we’ve yet again finished another Volume. I don’t know how else to show you my gratitude for following the story this far other than with words and continued daily chapter releases, so thank you so much!
This Volume was primarily focused on the main couple of the story – Cecily and Lune, as well as their adopted bundle of joy, Nelly. In all honesty, the main theme for Act 2 is exactly this family. If you hadn’t noticed it before, this dynamic was present from their first reunion in Volume 6, to their arguments about their past mistakes in Volume 7, and now finally, the fruits of their labor after they’ve finally reached a point of absolute transparency with one another. I had a lot of fun writing about these two since they first became a thing in Volume 2, and this was only ever accentuated with the addition of Nelly.
Now that so much plot was added into these ever turning cogs, I find it to be quite rewarding how the Grimhearts can finally live together without a shred of uncertainty and distrust between them. However, it seems that a peaceful life is still far away from Lune and co.
As for the deviations from the original draft of this Volume, not much has changed, or rather, a ton has been added. Slice of Life is really easy for me to write about, and I could literally go on for days about every little trivial experience these guys shared during the span of this Volume, but I knew that there had to be some plot in there, so I sadly had to cut a lot of it short. But apart from that, nothing worthy of note has since changed from the original draft, which I think is a first for this story.

A lot of callbacks to previous Volumes happened here, be it the adventurous field trip around the continent that’s most reminiscent of Volume 1, to the tons of reoccurring characters, or just the mentions of previously unresolved plot points that got a chance to shine in the spotlight for a bit. I found it quite fun and fulfilling that the entire world has already been built so much, despite not even being 1% complete. That’s right, I want to build this world up for the rest of my life!
Oh, speaking of callbacks, the next Volume could be considered a callback to Volume 5, as it will once again take place a couple years back. Specifically, this time we’ll once again be focusing on Meil’s side of the story, and we’ll be picking up the story from the moment he parted ways with the Grimhearts. And let me tell you, it’s gonna be exciting!
Once again, this is the author of TraCon, Akai Mikan, thanking you from the bottom of my heart for reading this story of mine. You make my days fun! Seriously, my life was so boring before this story, but now I finally feel like I have something to look forward to every day!
