A riveting end to the penultimate Volume! Man, it's actually crazy to think that starting tomorrow, we'll be in the final Volume of this story! My heart's actually racing right now, so I can only imagine the emotions that will come about in the coming month! Unlike the previous couple of Volumes, I wanted this one to be the most action packed of the series, going one fight after another in quick succession. If I had to name the biggest inspiration, it'd probably be Jujutsu Kaisen. The second season just made my shonen brain go into overdrive.
Many twists and turns came about during the making of this Volume. Starting from more Schnell's Archipelago lore being hinted at during the beginning chapters, then the reintroduction of the Gods and the Generals, and of course the most surprising new development of them all... Pierre actually has game!? That was a fun chapter to write.
As some of you might have guessed already, each of these three Volumes will focus on a "faction", so to speak. Volume 25 focused on Nelly first and foremost, whereas 26 focused on Issei and Lem. Now, as it would be the most fitting, let's give it up for the original protagonists of the series to make their mark on this island!
Now, if you're reading this, I'd like to ask you to join the Discord and Patreon. They're both free to join, and I'd really like to get to know my readers a bit more personally, as well as ask you guys about what you think of Transcontinental. You also gain a ton of fun rewards and perks for doing this, like advanced chapters and the ability to pick what story I'll be writing about next. Yes, you heard that right—There are many more untold stories about the Vast World I have yet to show you, so please look forward to the day I'm all done!
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
That's still decades away though, at least at the rate I'm writing currently. I don't see myself ever stopping the daily upload schedule, simply because it works best for me, but there might be a brief pause in between stories while I prepare the first two Volumes for light novel publication. Hopefully, once the story has been finished completely, I'll have a much easier time adapting it into a physical copy. Fingers crossed.
Right, what else is there to say? We learned about Schnell, Olya, visited Hell as well as Heaven 2.0, got to see Aru and Auros giving it their all, as well as Issei clutching up against the Grandmaster Adventurer. It almost cost him an arm and a leg, though, but he somehow got a refund without having to send the victory back. How lucky of him to have caught the Fighting God's attention.
Okay, as I don't have anything else to say, I guess I'll just leave it here for now. The Volume was overall very fun to write, and I hope to finally finish this by the end of April. Until then though, be sure to join the Discord and Patreon!
This is Mikan Akai, signing out!
