Vol.21 Ch.481 - Ittekimasu

And that's how we parted ways with the Sun God. No tearful goodbyes, not even bittersweet or comedic ones, we just entered the taxi and told the driver to take us to the hospital where Itsuo and Asa were. Entering the room he was being treated for the burn mark Ouroboras had dealt him, we had thankfully found a rather laid back situation. There weren't any doctors rushing through hallways shouting stuff like "get the scalpel"! or "we need to run a blood transfusion STAT!". Asa and Itsuo were just sitting there, calmly talking to the doctor who had applied some care to the situation.

"Dad! You're... eh?" Issei kicked open the door before realizing, "What the...? Wait, you're fine?"

"Fine? How is this fine?" Itsuo bowed to the doctor for the disturbance, "Also, be quiet while you're in a hospital. Did you forget all your manners when you went to the other world?"

"Right, but hey, you're awake and look like your condition is under control." I smiled, "We got really spooked when Asa-san informed us over the phone, but thankfully everything will be alright now."

"I guess, it'll be a while before I can go back to work though." Itsuo shrugged, "By the way, where's the culprit?"

"Ouroboras is..."

"We cut ties with him." Issei said without any remorse, "He did something unforgivable to you, so we'll be going without him to visit all the World Wonders."

"I see..." Itsuo looked down before nodding, "Well, at least you two have some sense in you. Though I kinda wish I wasn't the one caught in the crossfire of it all, but at least you've learned a valuable lesson."

"Ah, the doctor finally read the room and left it." I rolled my Eyes before approaching Itsuo up close, "Here, quit whining."

"Wait, don't touch the wound you idiot!" He tried moving me away, "The doctor just applied oil to it!"

"Ew, nasty." I said as I grinned at the wound I put my hand to, "I guess I'll have to wash my hands after, but at least I can Heal you with my Iro Ability."

"Y-You can do that!?"

Seeing the situation unfold in front of them, Issei continued to snicker at seeing his father panic like hell as he's getting his neck felt up by another man, and Asa just kinda stood in place and gave us all an uncertain and frightened look. Right, she wasn't in the room when her husband got burnt by Ouroboras, only after, so she probably doesn't trust me either anymore with touching Itsuo. Not to worry though, cause I'm the opposite of that good for nothing God!

"This might sting a bit." I warned him as I continued grinning forcefully.

"Wait, don't do anything if it's gonna hu-!" He braced himself before relaxing, "Eh?"

"All done." I got up to dust myself off, "Your pain should've stopped too."

"But... You said it was gonna sting."

"I said it MIGHT sting. It never did before, but who knows since I'm using Heal on someone not from my world." I shrugged.

"And that Green light that shone when you Healed me?"

"Yeah, it shows up whenever I cast Heal. The Green Iro Ability, if you could believe it."

"Isn't that great, dad?" Issei smiled, "Now you can go to work first thing on Monday!"

"...Gahh, and here I finally thought I could extend my weekend properly." Itsuo fell back on his hospital bed, scaring Asa half to death.

She panicked and shouted his name before running to him, but the father and son quickly explained the situation to her. She darted her gaze back and forth between me and Itsuo, finally settling the situation with a long, tired sigh that just screamed she was done with it all. Poor woman, I'll bet in all her years of living in this world, she's never had quite the turbulent winter as this one. From her son re-establishing contact after 14 years to all that's happened since we started crashing here. And after all that, she's still gonna have to go to her office on Monday and sit around for at least 8 hours slaving away. What a system.

"Well, I hate the guy ever since he did that to me, but wasn't he like, your guys' wallet?" Itsuo spoke the truth.

"Ah, I got that covered as well." I Materialized some gold bars, "I can just do this."

"...Issei, how long have you known Lune-san for?"

"Since around the time I came to the Vast World." He recalled, "I met an old man who sent me to a royal family, who in turn threatened and sent me away, and then their maid invited me to her house to crash at her place."

"A-And what did that maid make you do, exactly?" He feared.

"Introduced me to her boyfriend at the time." He then pointed to me, "Who happened to be Lune."

"Ah." Itsuo then nodded before calmly closing his Eyes, "Just wanted to say you should keep a guy like that close to you. He's surprisingly reliable when you need him."

"I was always like that you idiot old man, you were just way too focused on the White haired tanned man that spoke your language." I glared.

"Fair point, but who wouldn't, in all honesty?"

"Yeah, White hair is way too cool to not blindly put your faith into." I agreed with him nonetheless, "Issei's also an example of this, since his first girlfriend's hair is White as well."

"Ah, girls dyeing their hair is a bit..." He made a difficult face.

"No, Othelia's is natural." Issei added.

"Ain't no way!"

And so the conversation about Issei's girlfriends continued on for the next hour or so. Asa saw none of us had any plans to translate this to her, so she fell asleep on the chair in the room soon after. When the doctor later entered the room a few hours later, he saw Itsuo laughing his ass off as Issei talked about how both his girlfriends are mutually jealous of each other's respective features, so he handed him the bill and promptly told us to leave. Itsuo soon stopped laughing after getting charged a pretty large fine. Really, if there's anyone he should pay for the treatment, it's me! Lousy doctor...

"So, Ouri really didn't come back after all." Issei noted as we packed our bags.

"Yeah. He probably figured out with his Omniscience that we don't wanna see his face anymore and left for Mount Everest alone." I reasoned.

It's simply a fact that we could've gotten more answers had we gone to the mountain with him, or at the very least had way less trouble with it, but none of that matters if we'll have to deal with such a heartless monster. Besides, Ouroboras himself said that he's not kind, yet that he's the kindest of all 5 Gods, so maybe it was his way of warning us not to go with him? Maybe he did this precisely because he wanted us to cut ties with him and not get put in danger by any of the other Gods. It's possible, given he's a God that knows what happens in the future. Maybe, just maybe, Ouroboras is a good person that might've actually saved our lives...? Nah, I'll believe it when I see it, but until then, he's dead to me.

"Then, I guess it's time we head out." Issei turned to his parents, tearfully waiting for us at the front door, "Dammit guys, I told you we'll be back soon. Stop crying already!"

"Son, you just got here..." Itsuo blew his nose on a handkerchief.

"We spent the last week under your care pawning off Materialized gold bars." I noted, "We found a guy willing to smuggle us to all the places without any need for a passport. Besides, we just gotta touch the World Wonders and go to the next one, so realistically it shouldn't take longer than a week."

"Isn't that what you said when we just arrived in Japan over 2 months ago?" Issei joked as his dad burst out crying, "Ack, I didn't mean to instill even more fear and anxiety in you, old man! Cheer up!"

"R-Right, we can go with you, and...!"

"Itsuo-san." I calmed him down, "Stay here. Issei will return soon, and with him he'll have your daughters-in-law."

"Lune-san..."

"Whoa, we haven't yet married, y'know?" Issei chuckled.

"Dude, if they're gonna literally move to another world to be with you, you're as good as married in my Eyes." I gave him a sidelong glance, "Zip it and enjoy the 3P."

"That I will. And do, for that matter." He proudly announced, "I take no part of our relationship for granted, especially not the private ones."

"Perv." I commented.

"Enemy of all women." Itsuo added.

"You're my father though!? Have some more faith in your son!"

"Can't. He's surpassed the very definition of lust. Actually, you put lust to shame, son."

"...Thanks dad."

"Anytime."

Eh? They saw Eye to Eye somehow? But all they did was insult each other? Heh, maybe that's just how the Kaido's do things. Even their mother, who didn't understand a single word they uttered, still looked on with a tearful smile on her. I'm sure they love each other, and I'm sure they care for each other, but sometimes that may not always come across quite so clearly. Even still, a family's love will always remain pure.

"Then, we're off to America!" Issei sang.

"Yes indeed, Ameri-Wait, America?" I did a double-take, "Weren't we going to the Great Wall of China? Y'know, the closest one to us!?"

"Nah, cause we got someone more urgent to visit." Issei winked, "Come on, the taxi should be here any minute! Don't wanna be late!"

"Issei!" Itsuo and Asa shouted as they waved, "Come back soon!"

"Geez, those two..." He rolled his Eyes before shouting back, "And you two! Take a holiday off once in a while, got it!?"

"We won't!" Itsuo jeered, "Not until you give us some grandkids!"

"Careful what you wish for, old man! Don't come crawling back to me after a bunch of mini-mes start jumping up and down on you!"

"Can't wait!"

Damn, these two are shouting such embarrassing stuff in the middle of their yard. Aren't they embarrassed of the neighbors? Well, we're in Japan, so I doubt anyone can understand them. Still, what if someone passing by does know English? Eh, like Issei's ever been one to care about bothering others.

"Man." He looked at the passing shore scenery as we rode the taxi westward, "That was so cringe. A bunch of mini-mes? I wanna die right now, God..."

"Oh, looks like you do have some level of shame after all." I figured, "I'm surprised you could actually shout all that at the top of your lungs."

"Can you blame me? I was saying goodbye to my parents, even if it's temporary, so emotions were kind of flying everywhere."

"Ah, speaking of flying..." I dared to finally ask, "You never told me why exactly we were going to America first?"

"Well, as you know we won't exactly be able to travel by commercial plane outside the country." Issei raised a point, "But if we were to sayyy... find someone with their own plane who's not afraid to smuggle us over the border with it, then..."

"Wait, we have such a guy?!" I jolted, "Who?"

"Ahem, a hint then." Issei cleared his throat, "Har har harhar har."

He's singing a tune. An unfamiliar tune. Still, it brings to mind the image of a hat-wearing bear biting a kid's head off. The number 87 popped up as well, along with a muscular jet black haired gentleman screaming at the bear. What harmony, music truly does paint a vivid picture.
