AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
IT'S OVER, FINALLY!
You have no idea how difficult this Volume was to write. Practically every chapter had me rereading older bits of the story to verify if a character should know a certain fact and to make it all work properly. Still, it's those Volumes that the reader appreciates the most, I hope.
Many plot-points are getting the limelight shone on them finally, showcasing more on how Heaven 2.0, Time Cycles and the Gods work in general. Overall, I had more or less intended for this Volume to mostly focus on these parts of the world, but also on showing us how Cecily and Ed are taking Lune's absence after 3 years, not to mention the false hope of reviving him through divine means. I also wanted to bring back Issei and Othelia to check back on them a bit as well, which lent itself nicely to set up for future arcs with Meil and our modern day technology. Truly, this Volume was jam packed with a lot of stuff from previous and future Volumes, and I couldn't be happier with how I went about doing this.
Two things immediately stand out in my opinion. The first is the split story telling we got near the middle of the Volume. Having the group be separated and explore different parts of the mountain at the same time helped make the mountain truly seem as big as it is, but also it serves as an easier way for me to tell the story. Having too many characters in a scene usually leads to me forgetting about one or two of them entirely, which just makes you wonder why they're even there to begin with. Still, I'd like to assume I did the right thing with this decision.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
The other important thing I'd like to point out is Ed's Iro Wielding. If you couldn't tell already, the absence of Lune from the story also made any and all mentions of Wielding Iros pretty scarce. Apart from Ed's Analyze, Meil heavily relying on his Sinus Wave, and Lemmy sometimes screwing around with his Command, the actual Iro Abilities and the moments they were being used in were few and far between. It kind of makes sense too, since the person who most could make use of them in his regular day-to-day life is gone now. It's a rare occurrence for even one Iro Wielder to show up, much less someone who can switch from one to another seemingly as he pleases. I hope this was conveyed properly.
Well, that would have to be it for the afterword. Be it setting up plans for catgirls, wishing for a phone with infinite battery life, enjoying an onsen with a bunch of naked girls on the other side of a semi-thick ice wall, or even meeting the Gods of this world, Edward will continue to do his best to achieve his every goal, no matter how daunting the task may be!
That's all for now. Hope to see you in Volume 16, but until then, I need to make me some covers! See you soon, this is Mikan Akai signing out!
